    Lasagna
    Matthew U.

I think, if I return for work again next year in this area, I will definitely make it a point to stay a few days later than I usually do. That way, it gives me a chance to try more of the local flavors. Every year before this one I was usually just leaving right after my work was done, but I needed a little me time. Well, as much me time as possible when some of your friends are still in the area. This spot is within walking distance of several hotels in the area, making it an easy destination for people and one of the busiest places to be for meals. Even in the offseason. When we arrived we were greeted promptly at the door and lead to a booth. With menus in hand we were on our way to deciding out meals. I teetered between two, Lasagna and Bolognese. A few of my friends that I came here with had been before and they couldn't shed much light on the matter. When our server came to the table to take our drink orders he was insightful on my options. He basically convinced me in going with the Lasagna with the soul reasoning being that they use the Bolognese sauce in the Lasagna. Sold, Lasagna it was. A bit about the place. Offseason hours a a bit peculiar, short hours during most weekdays and longer ones toward the weekends. It was warm and welcoming and lively. Our server was a delight, I believe one of the owners, or at least that was what the pictures on the wall portrayed. He made sure we were taken care of and that our needs were met. He even apologized for the timeliness of our food coming out. Then the food did arrive. What took me by surprise at first was the portion. It was more than satisfactory, it was quite the piece of Lasagna. Then the first bite, the server didn't lie, it was quite tasty and I was happen that I didn't have to go with just the Bolognese. The sauce held so much flavor and it was quite the item to pull everything together. It was layered perfectly and a fitting meal. My friends were surprised I finished the whole thing. This will definitely be a place I will stop back at if I return. It filled my need for Italian food, and in my mind, far superior with what else is offered within walking distance of the hotels of Dewey Beach.

Pizza Connoisseur with slice of Hawaiian

PIZZA review first! The Pizza Connoisseur (not me partner in crime) gives it 7.8/10. Crisp crust through to the tip...yes I said tip...the balanced sauce not sweet... for a Hawaiian controversial pizza yes.... ham was not too thick or too thin cut... For the service... nothing exceptional but not rude either .. chill environment and dog friendly in the back by the bar or pm the patio... Definitely take this pizza over typical Grottos... Cheers pizza lovers

Simple family run Italian restaurant. We weren't sure what to expect, but we're pleasantly surprised by the overall tastiness of our meal. They won't win awards for their fare, but you'll leave happy and satisfied. We split an order of spumonti for dessert and that was exceptional.

Calamari perfect. Bar tender very attentive. Never a bad meal. Seafood pasta so good. I forgot to take a picture..

Got a large cheese pizza and intended to eat it there with our dog but the outdoor seating was not yet unlocked, even though it was like 6 pm. The pizza was pretty bad in my opinion. Thin soggy cardboard like crust, very minimal amount of sauce, and very greasy cheese.

    BURNT BARF

SO TO START, I'M REALLY PISSED! IF YOU HAVE READ ANY OF MY OTHER RANTS YOU KNOW , I HATE BURNT PIZZA! So this ass hole is chatting up with the help. The girl at the regester is getting nervous. So she opens the oven. The ass hole sees her and says "I GOT IT." As he pulls the pizzas out he is patting himself on the back and claims them to be perfect! FAR FROM IT. I asked him why all the sparse toppings was on one side of the pizza? He just stared at it, no response. See the pic. DEFINITELY THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG IN THIS PLACE. Eat your crap and have a nice day!!!

Now that's F*%king Italian! Those last two reviews, "forget about em." We had the best dinner that we have had since we got to Dewey. I had the pizza cheese steak, and it was phenomenal. My little guy got the kids pizza which he liked and finished. The side of meatballs was out of this world delicious. The cannoli is we're on point, and the Tiramisu, it was Wowwie!! The next time I'm in town, " I walking here" to eat the best of Dewey, hands down!

    Gelato in a frozen lemon

Really enjoyed our meal here. Started with the arancini which were filled with ground beef and pea. Sauce was delicious and the balks were cooked perfectly. Shared a large cheese and pepperoni pizza. Really good; thin chewy crust and piping hot. Finally, a good cannoli and (I forget the name) lemon gelato in a frozen lemon. They have tables set up outside which was really nice. It's in there parking lot behind the restaurant and it worked just fine.

Pizza is ok. The dough/crust had to be ripped apart to eat and then hard to chew. Kids couldn't eat it at all. May have been stale.

I was really cold because the air conditioning was set too low and Nico opened the doors and gave me a shawl so I would not be too cold.

Hands down the BEST meatball sub I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! When you stop in, say Hi to Colin. He's not just an amazing person but a great ambassador for Louie's. The service was fast, made to order, came out hot & fresh. The vibe is family friendly, unpretentious and authentic. Did I mention they've been in business 52 years?! The quality of the food and the friendly, helpful vibe is clearly a testament of their longevity and commitment to excellence. Slice & Drink Review…read more Louie's is definitely a blast from the past. The dining room is straight out of 1970, and the walk up takeout right next door, at least a few decades older. The black and whites on the walls feel right out of a 50's newsreel. I love all that historic stuff from my own childhood, so it pleased me to go back in time for a little bit. I needed a slice and diet to carry me through the late afternoon and Louie's was right in front of me when we parked near the boards at the top of Rehoboth Ave. I knew nothing about pizza at this shore, but my Jersey roots made me comfortable it would be decent. The reheat on the mushroom slice was strong enough to crisp the firm scorched crust back to life, and allowed the mozzarella to sweat and melt, while the sliced dark schrooms remained embedded in the surrounding cheese. It was a smaller than expected triangle, but the taste and texture were fine. The crust was somewhat airy with a nice crunch; the red sauce wasn't memorable. Five bites and it was gone. Four Stars for the rekindled sandy memories.
