    Lasagna

We really wanted to like this restaurant. Having lived in the Lewes area we are always looking for a small family run restaurant that isn't part of a bigger chain. We went and ordered 2 basic things any Italian restaurant should be able to make well. Lasagna and Chicken Parm. We also ordered Minestrone soup. The soup was barely pink it was so watery. The lasagna was like one big noodle with a mound of burnt meat in the center, no ricotta cheese. The noodle was wrapped around the meat with little sauce. The chicken parm tasted like a frozen chicken cutlet, deep fried. A bit of watery sauce. Topped with a square edged piece of cheese, like a Kraft single. The salad was very nice. But sadly we won't be back, nor can we recommend to friends and neighbors. We are disappointed at best.

A step above Olive Garden for authentic Italian cuisine. At Olive Garden the ambience is clean and comfortable. Villa Sorrento needs to stop putting band aids on their aging seating. I wasn't impressed with the ratty looking rug that covers the eating area. The dishes we ordered were smothered with sauce as seen in the photos. The sauce was tasty but overwhelming for a dish of pasta. I get the feeling that this restaurant survives by its take out orders. This restaurant has lots of potential... they need to up their game and do a total makeover.

Horrible pizza. We got the plain cheese pizza. It was like chewing on thick dry dense bready bland cardboard with a paper thin layer of sauce and barely any cheese, Just to clarify, it's completely devoid of flavor and has a very thick tough texture. You'd do better - much better - with any frozen pizza, like Ellios. Yea. It's that bad. We were staying in a hotel across the street, so its only redeeming quality was that it was conveniently located, but if we knew it was this awful we would've driven anywhere else. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, despite so many folks from NY and NJ in Lewes and Rehoboth, the pizza choices are almost nonexistent.

Really kind staff. But the food was subpar for the price. The Alfredo tasted like butter. The spaghetti had burnt garlic and so much sauce that all of the noodles were mixed into, it tasted like $7 spaghetti from a pizza shop. Dry flavorless bread, would probably choke without the butter. Small portions. Significantly overpriced for the quality & quantity of the food acquired. But the serving staff was kind and professional.

A hidden gem with exquisite authentic Italian food. The service is impeccable. And the owner may surprise you with some Italian opera

Amazing, extremely good food. Loved it and will be back. Each trip to Lewes/Rehoboth Beach, my family and I will make sure to stop here.

The food was spectacular and generous! Fairly easy to get a reset for a large party, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Don't go here. Receptionist/Owner was rude. Food was subpar. Worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant.

Their Thursday night steak special is great. An 8oz of filet mignon and a 10$ credit towards a glass of wine for $35. The cheeseboard is also really good. It comes with honey and fig jam, nuts, pickled vegetables, and some other things. It's nice to nibble on while having drinks before the entrees. The desserts are lovely too. Our favourites are the lemon cake and whatever cobbler they have. Just scrumptious.

The restaurant was not as busy as usual and we were quickly seated. After we ordered, we were enjoying ourselves when I felt something on top of my foot. I pulled my foot from under our table and there was a massive cockroach on my foot! Trying not to freak, I shook my foot, knocking it off and slammed my flip flop on it. Now being totally grossed out, I waited for our waitress to come back to our table and when she returned, I pointed to the floor. She was really sweet and said, they come every year. (What??) That's a Palmetto Bug! I said wait, we lived in SC for a long time. I know Palmetto Bugs! That's a Cockroach! Call it whatever you'd like, Delaware has good old American roaches! (And apparently so does your restaurant.) Maybe an "I'm sorry that happened to you" would have been nice Ashley.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. They work better when it comes to a bisque or a chowder. Besides that, I have little to complain about.

Located in the quaint downtown, Striper Bites pays homage to Lewes' history as a former Dutch whaling and port city with nautical themed decor. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. A well seasoned angus beef patty is grilled is topped with aged white cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, arugula, and nestled in a briche bun. The side of fries are also nice and crispy. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good. Service is always friendly, but not always as "prompt" when it gets busy - which in the summer during the high tourist season - but that's to be understood. Every town needs a neighborhood gathering spot like Striper Bites.
