Duck cacciatore

Our entire family came in from all over the country to celebrate my grandma's 85th birthday, and we went to Lupo at her request. Had I known what our experience would be like throughout the night, I would have suggested we go elsewhere. When we arrived, the hostess was immediately annoyed that only 12 of the 14 people in our party had arrived. The reason that two of those people were late was because my grandma needed someone to push her wheelchair in. And on the note of the wheelchair, which was collapsible, the staff insisted that it was taking up too much space and removed it from the dining room. This detail will become important later. The food was okay. The meatballs were pretty average and the grilled octopus was flavorful, but my cache e pepe was a bit lacking in flavor. We had my grandma's birthday cake for dessert, and the waitress serving it acted deeply inconvenienced by having to cut it and bring it to everyone our table. At no point did any of the wait staff ever ask how our food was or bring more water to our table. The icing on the cake: immediately after the bill was paid, the hostess brought my grandma's wheelchair back in. At no point did we say that we were ready to leave, so it was deeply insulting to feel like my grandmother was being told it was time for her to leave by the staff. We wanted to take some family photos-- because, again, our family doesn't often get to see each other-- and the wait staff not only didn't help us take them but also proceeded to seat a single table directly behind us as we were taking them instead of waiting two minutes for us to finish. This restaurant is absolutely not equipped for handicapped people or large parties. We couldn't move my grandma out of the restaurant easily, and when we were finally rushed out a side door by the hostess, the door was immediately pulled closed by the hostess and locked before my boyfriend and my grandma were even fully out, splitting our party in half. The other half of our party was quickly ushered out of the front door by the same hostess. The tables at which we were sitting stayed empty, so I'm not really sure why there was such a rush to get us out of the restaurant. Lupo was previously my grandma's favorite Italian restaurant, but I can't imagine that she will ever want to come here again. I am deeply disappointed in how the restaurant staff treated her on such a milestone occasion. The hostess needs some serious training on how to treat both large parties and people who are handicapped.

The shaved Brussels salad was probably the highlight of the meal. The pasta (lobster bucatini and cacio e Pepe) was good but nothing special. Overall we had a fine experience here, though the food is relatively pricey and you could probably find better in the area.

No sales tax!!! We can get used to this! Beautiful restaurant - looks very nice. Delicious food. The olive oil for dipping bread was to die for.

Peaches and goat cheese special

We love lupo! This Italian spot has the most amazing homemade pasta dishes and appetizers to go with it. They do have happy hour but it's only at the bar, so when you order from the table during happy hour it is regular price. For an appetizer we got the peach and goat cheese, which had an interesting taste (the peaches were suspiciously not peach tasting) although we did love it. The bolognese and spaghetti with meatballs are classic dishes that they do incredibly well. They don't have many vegetarian options, but they were happy to accommodate by making a side of pasta with burrata on top. The price point is a little high, but pretty average for Rehoboth.

LINGUINI & CLAMS

The staff here is very nice, however the food here is extremely salty! Starting with the bread it was good but saltier than normal bread. Then we got the antipasto appetizer which was so salty it was basically inedible. The grilled octopus was phenomenal. Then the clams with linguine, eggplant parm, and gnocchi were quite salty as well. It had a lot of potential but the salt at this place is EXTREME, and it lingered on our tongues after we left the restaurant (all 6 of us!)

I cannot say enough good things about Lupo-- great food, tasty drinks, amazing service and a lovely atmosphere to chat the night away. My friend and I had the artichokes-- add the lemon-- incredible. It wasn't my first time having them-- and it won't be my last! We shared the Cesar salad as well. Large enough for two. They will ask if you want it with anchovies or to hold them. Andddd last but not least, we had the lobster bucatini. This is a smaller pasta dish-- and too good to share! ( but we did share it.) If you're hungry and didn't order appetizers, you probably won't wanna share this dish.. Loved my pear martini. Lovely and smooth. Always a favorite place to go and I'll be back!

Lupo was where we decided to dine on the first night of vacation Saturday 4.29.23. Everything was stellar. No complaints whatsoever. Restaurant interior is clean, bright, and simple. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. *Drinks: limoncello lemon drop martini, grapefruit martini, negroni up *Burrata app - grilled bread, roasted butternut squash, crispy grains, pepitas, frisee lettuce, maple vinaigrette *Beet salad - peas, pickled shallots, house ricotta, frisee lettuce, pistachios, banyuls vinaigrette *Eggplant parm with rapini *Lobster bucatini - pancetta, mascarpone, shallots, peas Great dining experience.

We made our way to Lupo Italian Kitchen last night to take advantage of their half off parm night special and we were impressed! We started with a few of their cocktails including an Italian margarita, and espresso martini which were both great. And for an app, we went with their arancini which was made with caramelized onions and leeks, served with rustic tomato cream and pecorino. For our mains we had the eggplant parm, chicken parm and a special they had for an amatriciana pasta dish. All three were great and kept us coming back for more. And at half off for the parm entrees, you just can't beat it.

Lobster Bucatini

Went back a year later and I was super excited. Well my spouse and I were super disappointed. They have gone downhill. The sodas flat. The rigatoni pasta was rubbery. Calamari was just covered in fried breading. Couldn't even taste the calamari. And my lobster bucatini which I had before was rubbery and the lobster had smaller pieces and they were dry and rubbery too. We will not be coming back. Also noticed the restaurant was pretty quiet and dead at 6-6:30pm No pics because we sent food back. I kept my lobster bucatini because I was starving. But will not be going back again.

Excellent food and service. A part of the Sodel family of restaurants, another winner. House made pasta, cheese and bread... need I say more? The bread is soooo good. Soft and chewy with herbs. We had a special appetizer that used their house made ricotta. Pasta was nicely done, loaded with clams. Eggplant parm was also good

Hostess was adamant about not seating us until our entire party of 8 was there even though we said the remaining few were parking and almost here and thus we lost our table. Another party of the same size at the same time was seated and took our table even though half of their party wasn't even there. Hostess was so rude. Never coming back.

The Hen pecked and pulled out a Good Egg…read more Late summer, necessary beach weekend, Mom and I headed down 95 to favorite- Rehoboth. After many a weekend spent and many a restaurant tried we welcomed new eats at The Blue Hen. This menu is intriguing- small, tight but inventive- we were so excited to eat here! Was wonderful in having a table ready when we arrived for at-will, no reserve seating at about 7pm. Quiet corner. Promptly greeted by our server. She was gracious, so nice, and helpful our whole dining time. We ordered readily, in Mom's overwhelming hunger, lolol. Ordered the Lobster Toast and the Yellow Tomato Gazpacho, as starters. Amazingly accommodating on our order of this gorgeous gazpacho. We were given 2 bowls to split this tomato beauty. A few spoons of smooth & sweet, acidic, flavorful, gripping. Could have ordered more! The Lobster Toast- Accompanied by a concoction of radish, sesame, bitter-sweet....stunning bites in this salad. Unfamiliar but pronounced in the combination. Well done. The lobster- Absent. Wished for an open faced variety. Or at least a dish that advocates for lobster. Charge more. Bigger brioche. Pronounce those beautiful lobster bites in presentation. The lobster as served, was not the star. Ok, a moment for cocktails though- Whoa. Killer kill. The Church Girl Martini. Blessed be in evil, haha This Girl was too tasty in being that strong. So good in flavor, unbeknownst combos. A definite Watch Yourself and watch out for!! Entrees.....well when ordering was told the Sea Bream was out- disappointed on that. The entree menu is small, so should keep available. And when we entered the restaurant it was busier after we sat....so why out of a primary fish already?? So decided ahead- Mom had the Burger and I had the Crab Cake Sandwich. The burger- smashed, but still big patties. A perfect medium. Good overall. The bacon jam was an ask on the side. The bacons were really spicy lardons and were delicious. My crab cake sandwich. Hmmm. You are a sandwich. For the pricing, it's not there. Ate the Lumps, but the rest of the sandwich should I say was in the Dumps? Nothing to be said of standout. Would recommend putting this crab cake as a stand alone entree with accompaniment. Forget the bun. Overall food gets a 3.75. Drinks, environment and service a 4. The Blue Hen is not Spent. But also is not the Top Chicken.

The oysters were very fresh and the salmon main with bokchoy is delicious. The calamari is interesting with bits of salami. Fish dip is a bit bland but tastes clean and healthy lol. It was our first visit, and we were pleasantly surprised. The drinks were a bit pricey, my Lavender Dreams was $17 but it was delicious, just on the smaller side. The salmon was excellent, and the kitchen kindly substituted extra mashed potatoes since I don't care for Brussels sprouts. My husband had the beet salad and the octopus, and both were outstanding. Service was great, and the atmosphere overall is very nice. The only design element that didn't appeal to us was the white and blue wall treatment with the chair rail, coastal décor doesn't need to take "blue like the ocean" quite so literally. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

It's definitely not a large establishment so making a reservation would be recommended.
