Casapulla's offers fresh delicious subs and most are nice and hefty! The place is clean with pretty good service. My go-to is their store roasted turkey breast sub. Their perfect Italian sub rolls are packed with turkey breast! The Italian and Italian with prosciutto on top are absolutely spot on! To be fair, I've sampled the cheesesteaks twice and both times I found the steak used delicious but lacking in volume. I'm used to real Philly steaks which overflow with chopped steak- these steaks kinda got lost in the roll. I do visit often for the subs but not the steaks. read more

I ordered a turkey breast and my partner the turkey stuffer (Thanksgiving in a sandwich). The good news is that there is plenty of meat in the huge sandwich they call a "small," and my partner said the insides of the stuffer were good. The bad news is that the bread, although it appears to be fresh, is thick, tasteless and hard. I ate half of my sandwich, chewing and tearing at the bread. I asked for extra condiments (mustard and vinegar), but the bread remained hard and overly-chewy. For the second half, I ate the insides of the sandwich (turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion and sweet peppers) and threw the bread away. All of it. My partner took half of their sandwich to-go and plans to skip the bread when they finish it later. A sub shop should have excellent bread. Or at least decent bread. This is neither. I would give the place 4 - or even 5 - stars for the nice size sandwich, but the bread was really a problem for me. The place is clean and comfortable. As you can see from my prior two reviews, I have been here twice in 2025 including my first visit. We decided to stop here again for our third visit to pick up some subs to take on our ferry ride to Cape May, New Jersey. We were here around 10:30 AM. Only two others were eating in the restaurant. I ordered my small 10 inch Italian sub with oil and hot peppers for $14.95. Most small subs are $14.95. My total bill was $28.30 excluding gratuity. I took some packets of malt vinegar for my sub. My sub tasted great on the ferry. We agreed we will return here again, when we take the ferry. read more

We ordered our food for delivery. We are visiting from St Augustine FL and might be our last time. Someone suggested we try out this Deli. Service was to the T. Our subs were made according to how we wanted them. The bread is fresh. The kind of bread we miss down south and which we got used to for living in Upstate NY for more than 40 years. We cannot say anything about the ambiance since we had our order delivered. They are generous with the meat for all our subs. My husband couldn't wait to have the photo taken of his 12" sub. They've been around since 1956, and the family business now spans five decades, four generations, and five family-owned Delaware locations. They sell Italian-style sandwiches, and also have a big deli counter to buy meats and cheese by the pound, and also have a freezer with frozen entrees like ziti, raviolis, etc. Oh, and they also have grocery items like sauces. This "Old School" place has it all. The sandwiches we had for lunch were about the largest we've ever had and clearly rival the very best we've enjoyed at home. We ordered two of their six-inch grinders. Mine was $11.75 for an appropriately named "Old School". It had sweet soppressata, sharp provolone, hot capicola and prosciutto with lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers and vinegar. My wife had a $9.35 Boiled Ham with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. A few observations (OK, three). 1) the freshly baked sub rolls were delicious -super soft and perfect. 2) The size of the rolls and their related amount of ingredients sure as hell weren't six inches. They were closer to 50% more than that. 3) the amount of goodies Casapulla's stuffs in their rolls is incredible. Mine was stuffed so high with meat and cheese; it was pretty difficult to close up the roll. Finishing these massive "small" sandwiches was out of the question. Half was plenty. The remains are going with us on the ferry to New Jersey today for a second lunch. Seriously, how often do you get two go's at a small sandwich? It's difficult in my opinion to get decent hoagies in Delaware but this place satisfies me pretty well. I ordered the chicken salad and it was good! Perfect spot to grab a hoagie and chips and head to the beach. Extra points for the Herr's chips. The cashier was extremely friendly. read more

I got two cold subs for take out and paid $30. Ouch! That price point is one reason why I didn't give 5 stars. The subs were LOADED with cold cuts and veggies although they were light on the condiments. I'm not a fan of how they build their subs (meat on top) but that's just my preference. Overall they are really good subs. I liked the bread - very classic Italian deli sub bread. I'd recommend this place but would also make note of the price point. We ordered takeout and all the food was fantastic. The cheesesteak featured high-quality ribeye and provolone , and we added fried onions and mushrooms. Tastes like a Liscio's roll from Philly--the best! Same great roll for an Italian sub, beautifully prepared with the freshest ingredients. Order a few subs from here the other day and I have to say...maybe just not for me. The Italy Sub, the best seller, the cold cuts were cut to thick for my liking. Overall I didn't think they had much flavor and the sweet peppers were just pieces. I really didn't get the feel that it was Genoa Salami, capicola, peppered ham and very little provolone....more I think about it the more I'm disappointed . Started this revolution with 3 stars, now down to two. I also had the Boars Head London Broil Sub with sweet peppers & oil. The London Broil wasn't rare like advertised, medium at best but the meat was really dry like it was laying around for a bit. I did find another place that I really like and ordering from here to compare the two. I'll be going bad to the other place. We also had other subs as well, the turk0stuffer, another Italian, and a meatball. So we did our homework across the board. read more

If you love Italian subs, then go to Casapullas! Very fresh bread and meat! You can even ask for it to be prepared for travel if you order it the night before or for the beach or to take on the road and won't be eating it for a while. It keels the sub from getting mushy and soggy. This is a great basic deli. You can eat in or to it to go. They'll even bring your order to your car. Ah, so much potential with poor attention to quality. 6pm on a Friday, steak & cheese subs with fries. Steak and cheese was pretty good, but the bun was dry and seemed over steamed or stale. Fries are the big steak fries which should have been delicious, but they were burned and tasted like they were cooked in 2 week old grease. I'd give them another shot, maybe earlier in the day, but I can not say it was worth the cost given how bad the fries were. Dirty tables, staff was ok but seemed worn out. read more

I've been working down here recently and stopped here for an Italian hoagie last week, although they call it a sub. I was pleasantly surprised, it was quite good, especially for southern Delaware. So, I decided to stop again today and try their cheesesteak. I ordered a small with American and fried onions. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor, plenty of cheese and piping hot. Nice people. Highly organized and great ingredients. We ordered the London broil with mozzarella, italian, ham, turkey and veggie subs. The person taking the order was friendly and efficient and even called back when we were late picking them up due to crazy traffic. All were excellent except the veggie. I would pass on that one. Everything that is whats wrong with calling yourself an Italian restaurant. My antipasto salad, was a friend salad, and to add insult. It came with the same dressing packet you get from Wawa for $0.30. No pepperchini's, olives, almost no cheese and very little meat. The cheese stakes was horrid.
