​Outstanding food, even better people! ​My wife and I dined at Tide to Table on Sunday, July 5th. Going out the day after a major holiday weekend can be a gamble since staffing is notoriously tough, but this team didn't skip a beat. Knowing the owner, Bobby, and Pat, I already expected a great experience from them--but what truly blew us away was how incredible the entire staff was. ​From the warm, welcoming hostess who greeted us, to the servers who were genuinely attentive to every single guest, to the bartender who went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were having a fantastic time, the hospitality here is next-level. ​The food was fresh, unique, and absolutely outstanding. Bobby and Tim have done an incredible job with the menu--the smoked ceviche was unbelievable, and the fresh swordfish was cooked to absolute perfection. ​Delicious food is one thing, but what makes Tide to Table truly stand out is the genuine care and experience that the staff and owners provide. Tide to Table just became our new favorite spot in OC. Everything about this meal was on point. James was a fantastic server all night, attentive and easy going without ever missing a beat. But the real treat was talking with Bobby, one of the owners, who took the time to walk us through the menu and steer our picks. Every single recommendation was a hit. The crab gumbo and lobster bisque were both incredible, and the cobia and blackened swordfish were cooked perfectly. We ended with a pistachio cake for dessert that was honestly one of the best we've had, rich and not overly sweet. Been coming to OCMD for 24 years so looking for a new spot to eat and found this place. Did not disappoint! Check-in getting seated was a little unorganized but once we got to the table Anna took great care of us. Service was great and timely impressive considering all the large parties. A lot of the seating is outside - we didn't know that when we made our reservation so ended up outside upstairs but it was a nice night so worked out well. Restaurant is well appointed and the fish was fresh and sauces delightful we got a tuna appetizer and I got the rockfish my husband the halibut. The menu changes frequently so all the fish is fresh. The owner Bobby stopped by to check on us he was very hands on all night making sure things were running smoothly. We really enjoyed our visit. I think we found a new regular spot! read more

This was our first visit to Tide to Table. We came on a Thursday evening around 6pm and were seated right away without a reservation. Our server was Harold and he was awesome!! He was very attentive, our water glasses were never empty and he was prompt to take our order and check on us once food was delivered. He recommended some dishes to us which we ended up ordering. The food was FANTASTIC!! We had the Ahi Tuna nachos, the tuna tacos, and the scallop entree. Every single bite was heaven!! The food was fresh and light, and tasted incredible. An outstanding dinner! This place is absolutely incredible. We sat at the bar with Zach and Bea, and they are fantastic bartenders! We had the Swordfish Entree (seasoned beautifully), Black Cod (light and delicious), and Sea Scallops (sub Parmesan grits from Corn Mash - so sweet & fresh) ... everything was absolutely top notch. I have grown up here & lived in Ocean City for 20 years, and this place is like no other around. We had the Goat Cheesecake for dessert & we could not stop passing the plate to each other. So this is a half positive half negative review. First and foremost, the waitress we had was awesome. If all the services is good, they have a fighting chance. First issue, they do not have enough parking to accommodate even a small section of the restaurant. And you have to park south a block in another restaurant parking lot that is empty, because he only served breakfast and lunch. Also, most of their seating is outside on two patios. That needs to be said, and the reservation needs to be able to choose preference. I don't wanna sit outside when it's hot and muggy. And we almost left at that point. They're able to accommodate us at a table on the first floor. Which was very nice of them. Now on to the food, which I honestly thought was a little expensive, but I also understand what you're trying to do. I ordered the crab and shrimp gumbo to start. And I'm always a little bit hesitant when it isn't just chicken. Gumbo is a cheap stew that is meant to serve multiple people. With that said, this was really really good. It was a dark chocolate roux, Seasoned very well, had like four midsize shrimp, crab, and andouille sausage, etc. And for me, it was the best part of the meal (even for $16). The wife's got the roasted beet and goat cheese, terrain. It was good, the Wife thought a little heavy in the goat cheese, I did not. An interesting take on roasted beet salad, and good, but not sure if it's $17 good. The Wife ordered the duck. And it was a complete disaster. It had been skinned so no fat. It had been rushed to be cooked. It was dry, and well overdone. Life served medium well. Duck should be served, medium rare, cooked on the skin side down after rendering off almost all the fat on the bottom. And then turned one time for about three minutes, it should be cooked 90% on the skin side. This was not, and it $46, they need to learn how to cook duck if they're gonna keep it on their menu. Plus, it was not sliced very well. There were chunks that I had to cut up multiple times just to put on a for eat. Duck should be sliced about 3/8 of an inch thick. The sauce came with it was very tasty, but did not make up for that duck. I got the black and swordfish. Seizing was on point. Swordfish was overcooked. By about one minute. It wasn't dry, but it was overcooked. and for $39... For dessert I got the carrot cake. The carrot cake was really good. Seasoned properly, still moist, it was good Care cake and should be for $13. read more

Great spot! We had a nice table inside downstairs. All of the food was delicious. I can't stop thinking about the lobster bisque. Didn't get a picture but the swordfish and tuna were loved! Swordfish was probably the best entree. Harold was the most friendly and on-top-of-it server (go Terps!). The owner even came to see if we enjoyed our meal. The Milton chocolate cake was stellar better than Morton's Steak House. A must if in OC. Where to start, the place here is immaculate! We sat upstairs and outside and it was so beautiful. The food was absolutely outstanding. I ordered the prime cut steak and it was the most expensive thing in the menu, but the amount of food on my plate was perfect, almost hard to finish. The steak was cooked perfectly and the veggies were some of the best I've ever had. We learned about this restaurant and were very excited to give it a try. It is the location of the old Mother's north. Upon reading the web page, we were exited for the opportunity to patronize a local restaurant with product not frozen from a Sysco or US Foods truck like so many places are. We heard the hype of required reservations, but there were countless empty seats during our visit and they were welcoming people from off the street. The place is very clean, as you would expect a new place to be. Decor is cool and they have some outside seating upstairs. The place is exceptionally loud. I know this is an issue for many, but for a place that appears to want to portray itself as upscale, it was undoubtedly too loud. They could use some of those sound dampeners that can absorb some of the loudness. They say that the menu changes regularly, but we were handed the exact same menu as was on line. I do see that the menu on line today has changed. For appetizers we had a salad and the Scallops Carpaccio. Being pescatarian, I consume a lot of scallops. So this was an easy selection for me. But, I have to admit to being ignorant to the fact that Carpaccio meant that it was a raw dish. It was very unique. I was not sure if I was going to like it, but I was a gamer when it came to the table. It had quite a bit of passion fruit juice on it which really was an interesting combination. I finished my plate and was glad I had this one of a kind selection. The salad was fine. For the entrees we had blue fin tuna and a swordfish meal. The blue fin was so so. Creamy in a coconut broth which took away from the taste of the tuna itself. But it was fine. The swordfish over grits was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. Although, we all know grits are cheap, they were pretty stingy with the portion. Another scoop would cost pennies and welcomed. This was among the best swordfish that I have ever eaten. I believe our Server was named Mason. He was right on point and seemed happy and excited to be there. He was proud of the restaurant and really hyped everything up. Upon completion of the meal, we asked Mason about a dish we saw on the menu that jumped out for us. It was a fresh halibut entree. Having visited Alaska a few times and eating halibut there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks in between, we were intrigued about fresh halibut being in Ocean City. They stress the local nature of their sourcing but this seemed odd to me. So, we asked Mason where the halibut was from. He said he did not know but he would go ask the Head Chief. Mason returned a few minutes later and said the halibut was caught either in Ocean City or down in North Carolina. Having experience with halibut in Alaska, we always thought this was a cold water fish from up north. We rolled with the answer but followed up later with a quick google search. It was easy to find that halibut do not head that far south down the east coast. In Virginia it says halibut are "extremely rare and a once in a lifetime experience". That is Virginia, so how could this entree be being presented from North Carolina. Furthermore, we live on the marina where countless fishing yachts are stationed. The huge vessels that go out for Marlin during the world famous White Marlin Open. Wanting to get a verification, I asked several Captains about the claim of fresh halibut being served that was harvested from either Ocean City or North Carolina. They all laughed and said impossible. This verified my concern. If Tide To Table is really serving halibut, where is it coming from? Is it frozen? Or is it some cheaper fish being sold as halibut? I wanted to really like this restaurant and was hoping to make it a regular. But we feel like we were intentionally mislead and that is not ok. If not for the halibut situation this would have been a solid 4 rating. The noise would keep it from being a 5. But, having appeared to be misled by the sourcing, they get a 2. If Chef Bobby or Executive Chef Tim decides to reach out and clarify what exactly is the truth about the halibut, I will gladly give a new rating. I just can not help but feeling that if I was misled about one thing, what else am I not wise to behind the scenes. It is not a good feeling. read more

It was loud and many tables close together. The lobster bisque was good and priced decent, but the 2 crab cakes were small and the mashed potatoes were non existent. Wife and I ordered the same lobster bisque and crab cakes entre. Crab cakes were a rip off. 150 plus a 20 tip. Service was good but that crab cake dinner was a joke portion wise.
