Ordered a pit beef sandwich. This is not pit beef, no way this was cooked over a fire pit. it's the worst example I've come across. I asked for rare, he told me they cook it medium rare and then dip it in au jus. This was well done and had no flavor at all. You'll see in pic, not one spec of red. Maybe other things here are better but they should stop selling "pit beef " if this is their idea of pit beef. Terrible and I guess they needed the $16 more than I did. Why not be honest and say this isn't traditional pit beef as you might be expecting. It's reheated roast beef. They have plenty of things on menu. We've been going here for years and it's always a great time! This is the epitome of a no-frills bbq joint which uses playing cards to call your order. We got a large baby back ribs combo with 3 sides and cornbread. When my family found one of the ribs to be a little dry, the staff shocked us by giving us 2 full racks, cornbread, brownies, and a $10 gift card for our next visit! This place is amazing. First, The ordering process was pretty easy. Walk up, order your food and wait. You get a pretty cool ticket (a card) - We were A's !!! The spot was pretty clean. They had out door open seating and enclosed outdoor seating. Either way, pretty cool and clean. Nice spot. Now, the food pretty damn good. We went along with another family and had 2 family specials, we had the chicken and they had the baby back ribs and we shared all the food. We even took food home. Whenever in the area during the season, we always have to stop here! Love that they are dog friendly! Wish they still had the dog menu. Also wish they were open all year! This year I've been getting the burnt ends. They are on the softer side than what I'm used to with burnt ends but still very tasty. I get them with the Mac and cheese (which this time wasn't that great. Flavor was lacking) and the cinnamon apples which are beyond delicious! I also get the large order of corn nuggets (fritters) which are beyond hard to find but also very yummy! The burnt ends come with corn bread, however, I'm not a fan of it. I find it rather bland and dry. They have these reusable to go cups for soda with a straw that you can get refills for $1 with. Everything that I have ever had is always fresh and delicious! Smokers used to be that carry out joint that was so good you just wanted to keep going back. This was our first time this year and the experience truly took the wind out of our sail. $100 carry out including tip and we were missing a full rack of ribs, cornbread, green beans, and the two piece fried chicken dinner. The thigh looked like a wing it would fit in my four-year-old granddaughter's hand and the leg was not much bigger. When I they claimed it couldn't be. They asked me if I wanted another set of ribs. I simply replied "I don't want another, I want the order that I paid for". when they brought the food out to my car, I showed them the ticket on the bag that showed that they had inspected my food before I left the first time. They said yes we inspect every package to make sure all the food is there. I asked how is that you since I didn't get the food. I left there and they were . Not a single person thought that they might need to check their bagging process. That's when you know, they may not be around next year. If you have another place to go eat, I would probably recommend that you do that. read more

Good BBQ, the way it was meant to be. The first time I had Smoker's Pit BBQ was over 20 years ago and I loved it. I went back every year when visiting Ocean City. I tried the Pit Beef sandwich with the horseradish sauce with a side of fries and cole slaw and a proper sweet tea. It was really good. The pit beef sandwich would have been tastier with the BBQ sauce option. It was packed with meat and very filling. We also had some sides, corn bites, and fried pickle spears. The pickles came with the most delicious homemade ranch dressing. My dining companion had the Smoker Pit Burger with the smoked pulled pork on it. She enjoyed it very much. The doggies got a treat as well , they offer a four legged smoked chicken bowl for your K-9. The dogs loved it! Have to make a return visit before they close for the season. read more

I'm from Northern California. I wish so much that we had this restaurant there. Wow! This place was AMAZING!!! We had the brisket, and let me tell you, it was so deliciously moist, tender, and melt in your mouth good. The fries are perfectly made, and the coleslaw was fresh and delicious as well. I could tell that the locals really love this place too! We had gone to an Outback the night before and lemme tell ya, they don't hold a candle to this place! The service here is swift and courteous. This is the first time we've stopped here since they reopened. Smoker's was always a place we would go to for dinner when we were in Ocean City. The first thing we noticed when we pulled in was that there was no crowd of customers waiting to place their orders, we were able to go right up and place our orders. My wife and I both orders the burnt ends. This was always our favorite item on the menu. When we got our order at the pickup window we were surprised at how small the portions were. We sat down and opened the containers and what was supposed to be burnt ends looked like they had simply shredded some brisket and dumped a bunch of sauce on it. Good BBQ does not need sauce, it should be left to the discretion of the customer. The sauce they doused the "burnt ends" in was definitely not the best I've ever had, it seemed to be very salty. The sides we ordered, Mac & cheese and baked beans, were mediocre at best. Today I learned that a new owner took over back around the time they were shut down by the fire. Bottom line is...we were very disappointed with Smoker's as it was one of our favorite stops in OC, and with Boog's closing their location on the boardwalk a few years ago we need to find a new BBQ place. Visits: April when they opened through May. Off the charts BBQ. Totally. Takeout: Perfection. Everything is accurate and neatly packed. We were provided sauces and napkins. Dine in meals : We love r The Feast for Two- Hearty portions of ribs and chicken accompanied by a sauce or two of your choosing. With 3 nicely sized homemade sides. The portion sizes were such that any time we ordered this we went home with a bit of leftovers. Today we enjoyed the potato salad, the baked beans and the garlic green beans. Other times we have gotten the 12 piece fried chicken and that came with a couple of sides also. Their chicken is fresh and juicy. One time we even had their slushy's And thoroughly enjoyed them. Outdoor dining is picnic tables in a big screened in porch. The picnic tables were clean without a hint of any barbecue residue remaining. This is something to note because this is something really hard to do. Especially when you have a near constant crowd out front ordering. Which brings me to the staff who work hard to make your dining experience a good one. We will be back often. read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals and unfortunately it was pretty disappointing. We ordered a good amount of food, the total cost was around 71 bucks. The brisket, I can't believe they would serve something like that. The meat was most definitely spoiled and old. It had a very off putting taste, that I wouldn't even feed it to our puppy. The fries, I can't believe they served us day old fries! The fries were so old, greasy and cold when I took one bite, it literally stuck to the roof of my mouth. The potato salad...... are you serious. The Mac and cheese, although not terrible, it most definitely lacked any type of seasoning. It was bland enough and safe enough to feed to our dog and he enjoyed it. The baked beans, straight from a can as well as the collard greens, glory gets the credit for those. The cornbread, sweet, lacks texture and just doesn't taste good. The most decent part of the meal was the ribs. They weren't bad at all. Seasoned well, a bit tough, but still chewable and they weren't smothered in an overly sweet sauce. I was pretty upset with what we received from them tonight. So upset, I almost got in my car to drive there for them to understand how horrible the food is, or at least give them a call to let them know the brisket was most definitely old/spoiled. The only thing that stopped me, was my husband, he said it wasn't worth the aggravation. However, one thing I was going to make sure I did was write a review. The Smoker's BBQ Pit has some decent barbecue. We got a variety of items, including the Carolina BBQ (vinegar-based) and the regular BBQ sandwiches. The brisket was thinly sliced in the brisket sandwich, thinner than I'm used to. Not bad, though nothing that wowed me. I opted for the Hell Cat sandwich, which had a nice spicy sauce to accompany the fried catfish. Sides were solid, especially the green beans (perfectly cooked) and the mac and cheese. We all agreed the bread was somewhat lacking and that our sandwiches would have been better with a firmer and more flavorful bread. Very disappointed in the food. "Cream" of crab lacked cream and was so watery to the point the low-grade crab meat sank to the the bottom of the bowl. Burger was extremely greasy which saturated the roll. Wouldn't even feed to the dog. Both items thrown out and not eaten. A total waste of money. First time here and we liked the food. At first we thought the portions were small but once we got it home we realized the takeaway container was just huge. Baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork were delicious. The fried foods were crispy. I liked how they didn't upcharge for sweet potato fries (most places charge extra for them). The smoked salmon had the skin on and I wasn't fan of that. It left a very strong fishy smell. We also didn't get the cream cheese dip with it even though we were told it came with it. Had dinner here with friends this past Saturday during our visit to Ocean City Beach. We were happy to see that people were lined up outside ordering and waiting for their food. I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens that also came with jalapeño corn bread. Also ordered a side of corn nuggets. The rubs were well seasoned and the sauce which was served on the side had a nice flavor. It was also a good portion. We went based on a video on you tube. I was not sure what to expect. You order at a window. They give you a playing card to use as your number. We were not aware of the menu and I ordered a bbq pulled pork with two sides and a drink. It is $5.00 more to add two sides or a side and drink. I read that wrong. So I ordered two sides. My husband got pit beef. They did not offer a sauce. Drink cups are small and refills are $1.00. So for two sandwiches, two drinks, and 2 sides... bill was over $40.00. Next time we will know to ask for sauce at the window, to save a trip back to the window. The great news, best Cole slaw in ocean city. Creamy, fresh, perfect. My sandwich was good as well.
