We had pork and brisket sandwiches. The brisket was tastier than the pork, which was bland. Added sauce helped. Big sandwich. Since takeout, bread may be soggy, but it is nice big Kaiser roll. Easy service and call ahead. Would definitely go back and try the ribs next time. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!! Have tried many times to give this place a chance and I give up.... I really wanted it to work, and I had totally eliminated getting the chicken because it was always dry!!! Sides were always bad as well... Tonight we had the pulled pork , the brisket which was the worst I ever had, and for some reason they have to shred it.... When we ordered it we asked if it was sliced because that is how the picture looked like on the site, and they said yes, but it was just like pulled pork, and not sliced the way you usually get brisket..... We came here to pick up BBQ meat to make our own sandwiches & dinners. We got half a pound of pulled pork & brisket with sauce on the side. All I have to say is that this BBQ was exceptional! It was sooooo delicious . We also waited for 2 minutes in total time to get this, so very quick & solid service. This is a pick up only place so there isn't any places to sit down & eat, but they do have some benches to sit at while you wait for your order. Just finished a brisket sandwich, great stuff. Ordered ahead by phone it was ready when I got there.

I saw an image advertising their prices and I thought for sure that they were outdated. Yet, when we went there for takeout, the prices were in fact accurate. I was originally going to order one rack of ribs to supplement our leftovers that we were going to finish off, but ended up buying a family meal. It consisted of two full racks of ribs, two large sides, and a tray of cornbread. Total: $48 (plus a 50 cent surcharge for using my credit card). We got there a shade after 5:00 on a Friday with no line. It took them less than 5 minutes to prepare our order. As for the food. Ribs were tender and fell off the bone. The barbecue sauce was tangy and tasty. Cornbread was moist. Mac & cheese and cole slaw were average. The cole slaw was finely chopped, which wasn't popular with our group. I also reheated some of the ribs the next morning, and I think I liked it better. Not the best ribs I've had, but it was a good deal and a good experience. This is our 6th time in Bethany beach, but our first time at Charlie K's. We will definitely be coming back on our yearly trip!!! The people at the counter were extremely nice and attentive. The food itself was amazing! The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone, the Mac and cheese was perfectly creamy and the coleslaw had a nice punch from the vinegar. The brisket, pulled pork and cornbread were phenomenal as well. Side note: I always read the Yelp reviews before going somewhere new. Shame on all the people that complained about not being served when it gets really close to closing. Upon arrival, we learned that EVERYTHING is made fresh daily and once they run out of food, that's it! Everything is made fresh and BBQ takes a long time to cook. If they run out of food, it's because everything has been ordered! Love a good family run business, especially when the food is this good. read more

I love potatoes of any kind. Russet, sweet, fingerling (I f___ing love fingerling potatoes!), red skins. They're all delicious. I tend to like them mashed or roasted, but am also a huge fan of potato salad. CHARLIE K's HAS THE BEST POTATO SALAD IN THE WORLD. I know everyone goes there for the BBQ, but the potato salad is not to be missed. read more

I've driven by this BBQ place 20+ times and finally decided to stop to pickup dinner. I did not anticipate it would take about 15 min just to order, and another 40 min to get my food, so be prepared to wait! The parking lot is very small as well, better park elsewhere. There isn't really anywhere to eat here so we took it to go. The ribs, while cooked perfectly were very salty and smothered in too much sauce--I'd ask for the sauce on the side.
