I feel like there is a trend in this area where restaurants are cutting back on ingredients and quality. Is that going on here? I've eaten here for some years now, and have always like the food, but at my last experience here I found all the food was a little disappointing. Before I give a few specifics, let me say that we did a small catering order earlier this year, and everything was fantastic--our guests truly enjoyed the food. It is because of that experience that I'm giving a 4 and not a 3. At our last meal, more than one person felt that the pork was dry--yes, we go ahead and put BBQ sauce on it, put it should have been moister and more tender to begin with. The BBQ brisket cheesesteak had the canned (I think) chipotle peppers, which don't really have any heat--why not fresh jalapenos? And they used to have really good French Fries!! But now they are going with that batter-dipped style--and I don't like those. read more

This is our go to restaurant when in Bethany. Love the ribs, but everything else is good too. Have not had a bad meal here. Be warned it can get busy during the summer so plan ahead. Have used their carry out several times now and they are very consistent. They also do great job with food allergies. read more

Bethany blues is in the heart of the touristy area and mostly you would need to walk to it or find street parking that requires meter payment. If you can get past that hurdle of finding a place to park/walk, dinner time is about a 25 minute wait on a Friday at 530ish. When we found out there was a wait we went straight to the bar instead and it really worked out because the bar turned out to be a much better place for us to sit instead of waiting. We managed to get two prime seats side-by-side where no one else faced us & more of a private bar seat-----lucky!! The people that manage or serve the bar were so insanely friendly it was hard not to really enjoy having a drink and eating good food with a really nice staff. First there's some things that you should know and that is happy hour ends at 6 PM. Its your most basic items & drinks. There is corn bread used as a complementary part of your order. I had a Carolina Cuban That was a pretty big portion and it came with fries that were seasoned with salt and pepper and coleslaw ($15). My husband had a Blues burger ($15) that was just a little bit smaller but still he was very happy and he used it with some of the barbecue sauce that was spicy, which he loved. It looks like there are two barbecue sauces at every table that are spicy or mild both of which are delish. I will gladly come back here again but I think mostly with us, just kind of winging it, we got lucky with the parking and the bar seats. read more

Always good service and a good meal. Great portion sizes! Most of the time I get a barbecue platter with one meat selection and two sides and I always bring at least half my food home. Love the pigs on a stick too as an appetizer or sometimes a meal. They are so yummy! read more

Bethany Blues always has delicious food. I love that there are a variety of options, and they're incredibly accommodating of a GF diet. I also had the most amazing service at the bar after alerting a bar tender to my severe grapefruit allergy when I noticed they had grapefruits at the bar; he was amazing and so cautious to wash his hands before touching anything he served me to ensure there wasn't cross contamination. First time ever coming to this restaurant and will not be the last. The parking lot is not very big. I had to park in another lot across the street, so don't let it fool you because the wait wasn't long even though it didn't park in a lot. Started out with an awesome martini. I don't remember which one it was. They then give you amazing corn bread to start. We opted into getting a few appetizers, and they were ALL amazing!!! Started with delmarva deviled eggs for $1.95 each topped with lump crab meat and old bay they were very tasty. Got the pork belly burnt ends for $14 they were also very tasty. The last appetizer we got was a special bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops in bbq sauce. Our entrees were just as wonderful as the starters. I ordered the pulled chicken with corn and baked beans for $18. The amount of chicken you got was a good amount, and it was very delicious, especially smothered. In their housemade bbq sauce, and the corn was in a crap load of butter but was soooo good!!! My boyfriend got the smokehouse Mac skillet for $18 it was a nice portion with lots of pulled pork that was delicious. My cousin got the ribs and sasuage for delmarva Duo for $28 . Our first night in Bethany we ordered takeout from here for 9 of us, so I got to try a little bit of everything. We got a couple of the family meals where you get to choose a few meats and sides and you get cornbread and salad with it. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's a favorite for the off-season burger night special. The burgers are delicious and the fries are one of the best around. You can't beat the price. The service is always excellent. Our last server, Jack, couldn't have been more accommodating. It can be tricky to park in the peak season as it's right downtown, but definitely worth a visit! read more

We have had a Bethany Blues multiple times in the past, as well as today, and it is consistently good! Today we ordered pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw, garlic mashed potatoes, collard greens, cornbread, and buns. All of the meat was extremely fresh and tasty. The brioche bun was hard and stale unfortunately. The service was extremely quick even though it was Father's Day! We ordered online and it was ready for pick up 30 minutes later. We got takeout from Bethany Blues tonight. We ordered a Blues Burger, Chicken Caprese sandwich and a Chopped Brisket sandwich. Unfortunately it was a $45 disappointment. The burger was supposed to be cooked medium -it mostly on the rare side. The brisket sandwich was a large percentage of fat and Caprese sandwich lacked flavor. The coleslaw looked very dry and old. One bite confirmed it was inedible and into the trash it went. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of this order because the food has been much better from them in the past. read more

Went here for a Sunday brunch while on vacation this past summer. Loved it!! The food was delicious and super flavorful. The portion sizes were super generous and they have a huge list of drinks and cocktails. Our breakfast potatoes were half raw but everything else was so good that we didn't mind and it wasn't that detrimental that I would knock a star off this review. Barbecue at the beach? -- I would not have high expectations whatsoever... But this place was AMAZING. Prepare yourself, because you will be waiting a long time. We waited about 90 minutes, so we just walked around the shops to kill time. The cornbread starter is fantastic (but don't fill up on it!) This time we tried something a little different than the typical barbecue food. The crab cakes were full of crab meat, not a lot of filler, and quite tasty. All of the sides were incredible as well. The green beans were the best! The smoked caprese chicken sandwich was juicy and the balsamic was the perfect touch. Oh and how could I forget to mention the cornbread! Customer service. After Covid, other places of service neglected the customer service training. Let me tell you about Richie. From the greeting to the bill. He was on top of everything. Politely interacting with us, and every need. We showed up to have lunch and watch the game. He never let our drinks go empty, even when he was busy with others. Our food came out hot, timely, and accurate. That is why we made sure to point it out to JR, the manager on duty. And let me take a moment to say thank you to JR. His attention to service was awesome as well. We showed up just as the crowd started to come in. He sat us, and put us in a good spot to watch the game. Excellent food and service! My daughter has Celiac's Disease and she becomes very sick when food is cross-contaminated. As a local we'd like to support local restaurants especially during the off-season. So during the height of tourism it upsets me that we can't even get into the restaurants. the local restaurants need to inplement a local section where people who live here could go in and sit and eat and not have to wait 2 to 3 hours behind the tourists. Every restaurant has a rhythm. The Lewes rhythm was way off! Whoever is managing the restaurant is aiding and abetting in massive loss of profit for the owner. Empty tables throughout, yet the receptionist made us wait 25 minutes for nothing. When we asked about being seated we were told it would be 5 more minutes. For what? Plenty of staff, yet they couldn't have been bothered to efficiently manage table service. A restaurant makes money based on how many times the tables are turned. Waitstaff were very scary; I wouldn't have wanted my younger family members to witness their antics. Ribs were tough from undercooking. Overly sweet sauces. Smoked sauce was full of molasses. Hubby got the brisket sandwich for a $3 upcharge. It turned out to be chopped pieces of dry meat. I got the St Louis rib platter and if these were not Baby Backs, I'd be shocked since they were so fatty. In addition the rub was like eating raw brown sugar granules. The meat was undercooked so it was like biting into a rubber ball. The beans were so vinegary I could not eat them and the cole slaw too sour. The fries were decent. What has happened to this place?? The first time we came it was heaven. I thought we had found the best ribs since being down south. I've been to this place a number of times in the past and really liked it. But my most recent visit wasn't great. Had their Signature Pulled Pork sandwich. It was just okay. The pork was dry and had a few tough chunks in it. The roll seemed like a grocery store hamburger bun. The fries were great. The cole slaw just seemed like wet cabbage. Not creamy enough. The sweet tea had a bad after taste to it. I suspect that's mostly due to the water in town but an in-house water treatment system would take care of that. My family and friends loved these dinners & they usually kicked off our weekend. Then they went away. BUT....now they're back! And they're better than ever because now you can get them curbside! Order on the ChowNow or Bethany Blues App, pick a time, pay online, and pull up - it's loaded into your car. Choose an appetizer (last week it was a delicious Umami bomb of a Pumpkin, Crab, & Mushroom bisque or a generous house salad ) then 2 choices for entree - Brian's Shredded Tex-Mex beef or a bourbon glazed Bacon Wrapped Scallops served on a wood plank accompanied by veg, Spanish rice, and an amazing pineapple salsa. Desert was a to die for and generously sized Espresso Cheesecake (can you carry this always!?) - we could manage only half and it made for a nice treat on Saturday night. All courses were paired with either wine or bourbon. We chose the vino. It was a half glass tastings of a sparkling rose, a New Zealand Oyster Bay Sauv Blanc, and a lovely Pinot Noir.
