TLDR: Spain Wine Bar mostly lived up to the hype with a beautiful rooftop setting, creative tapas, generous seafood paella, and great cocktails. Just be prepared for possible delays during peak hours, even with a reservation. We had heard great things about Spain Wine Bar, located on the rooftop of the Cambria Hotel in downtown Ocean City, and for the most part it lived up to the hype. Our group of five had an 8:30 reservation on a Friday night, but we waited another 30 minutes before being seated. Several other groups with reservations were also waiting, so it seemed like tables simply were not turning over as quickly as expected. Once we were finally taken to our table, we walked the length of the restaurant and got to appreciate just how impressive the space is. The open air terrace overlooks the inlet and Route 50 bridge, with stylish Spanish Riviera vibes that fit perfectly with the beach just a stone's throw away. Since we had plenty of time to study the menu while waiting, we were ready to order immediately. Our waitress was great, although the bar appeared overwhelmed. Our cocktails and bottle of wine took another 15 minutes to arrive, but thankfully the food came out quickly. We shared around a dozen tapas and a small seafood paella. The highlights were the short rib bocadillo with pulled short rib, chipotle aioli, and pickled onions, the boquerones anchovies, flank steak with chimichurri, and the truffle ham and cheese sandwich with Serrano ham and smoky San Simón cheese. The seafood paella was another winner and surprisingly generous for the small size. Cocktails were also very good once they arrived, especially their take on the Negroni. Overall, Spain Wine Bar is an excellent dinner or date night spot for anyone looking for something different in OCMD. The rooftop atmosphere is hard to beat, and the food mostly delivered. Make a reservation because this is one of the hottest spots in town, but leave some flexibility in your schedule in case they are running behind. read more

I visited here mid September with a group of five. We had a reservation and not exactly sure how but somehow they got so backed up that we didn't get seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. For context our reservation was at 8:30 so I would have assumed that the main dinner rush was over but nonetheless we were not the only group that were waiting. However, once we got seated our server came over right away, got us our drinks and took our order. Once the order was placed, the dishes came out fairly quickly. We pretty much ordered 60% of the menu and my top choices were the paella, scallop risotto, watermelon and cantaloupe salad, smoked pulp and flank steak. The paella is also pretty sizable so even the small is very generous. The seafood on the paella were all cooked perfectly with the texture of the rice. The salad was so refreshing and somehow the combination of the fruit and dressing worked beautifully. The octopus was also cooked perfectly, not one bit too much so it was very tender! While I have been so excited to eat at the Spain Wine Bar and had a delicious meal, I want to start by explaining the weird interaction with the manager. After finally getting sat, and ordering drinks and food with our waitress (who was very kind), the manager came over to our table asking to confirm our reservation. He was insinuating that we sat ourselves because he could not confirm our reservation. First off, seating yourself in this restaurant seems pretty impossible. Just with how busy it is. Secondly, we fully checked in with the hostess, and were escorted to our table when it was ready. Somehow, he was finally able to confirm our reservation and told us that someone would be be with us soon to order. What he did not realize was that we had already ordered. This whole interaction felt very strange. Despite that, our food was very good. I wish they coursed out the offerings differently, because it did take quite some time to get the pasta and steak tapas. The burrata was so fresh and the potato tapa was the star of the show! I never expect special treatment of any kind, however, I always expect kindness and to be treated well no matter where I am dining. My friends and I were dressed well and were having a girls night, however, the interaction with the manager definitely put a weird vibe to the start of our night. I am so glad we spotted the Spain Wine Bar Social Hour before the end of our week in Ocean City. You should know it is from 3-5 Tu-Th and Fri 2-5 at the bar. The bartender asked about food sensitivities and said the chef will adjust the sampler menu to accommodate. Although we didn't order it, we appreciated the opportunity to customize if needed. Happy hour included $8 sangria and cocktails, and bar snacks $6-14, and the view is amazing from the 8th floor of Cambria Hotel. There are a few spaces set aside for Spain Wine Bar, so park only in red marked spaces as the rest are hotel reserved. I liked the post that shared this tip with us, as parking at the beach (or bay) can be a problem at peak times. For snacks, we ordered the olives; forgot to take a picture but a generous portion of large and small black and green pungent olives, marinated in herbs and olive oil. Perfect. The Mussels, Empanadas and Garlic Shrimp were next. The Empanadas were light flaky fried pies, stuffed with ground beef and sauce. Perfect example of an empanada, and the red pepper sauce garnishing the plate was a nice accompaniment. The garlic shrimp were swimming in rich garlic laden olive oil, with bits of herbs and a couple of deadly little peppers. This dish didn't send me, although I certainly ate it all. The texture was good but the flavor was surprisingly bland. Finally the mussels in an amazing red sauce, so rich with roasted tomatoes and chorizo, it was hard not to spoon it directly. The chef really nailed this dish!!! We agreed this could be a double order next time, a delicious and good value find! I should have nibbled on almonds and sipped sangria all night, but alas we had to pack for departure from paradise. Disappointing! Booked Spain and Wine bar for an after proposal celebration. Since we had 10 people (8 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) we were told we would have to email to make a reservation. Starting with the communication, we spoke with Krystle and communication was awful. She was slow to respond and I had to follow up multiple times just for a response. She finally confirmed that we would have a table by the water for 7pm for our event. When we got to the restaurant at 645pm i inquired at the hostess desk about putting up a "she said yes" sign as I was told that would be okay prior to booking. I was then told that our table wasn't ready and probably wouldn't be for another 20mins and that the restaurant could not "guarantee" a view of the water stating that Krystle was supposed to let me know that. The table was ready at around 720pm. I went to the table first and then called for the rest of our group to come upstairs since they waited in the lobby. When they got to the hostess stand and attempted to check in the hostess advised them he did not have our party on his list. We were squeezed into a tiny table on the back end of the restaurant (furthest from the water) and packed in like sardines. Don't get me wrong the place was beautiful and food was decent. The waitress that we had was also wonderful;however, after planning a nice celebration for a big event I expected better service. For that alone I'm leaving a 3 star review. If your planning a large event, I would consider a slower time or to insist on speaking to someone on the phone (not email) so the details could be clarified. She did not check to accommodate us and then within 5 min 2 people sat at the 4 top and had a beautiful view as my spouse was sitting with his back to the water and in full sun. Here is what we had over three dinners: - Cheese and Charcuterie Board with Drunken Goat cheese (mild flavor) and Jamon Serrano. It came with olives, apricot jam, and mixed nuts. We ran out of crackers and cheese quickly, so I would recommend getting two cheeses and extra bread. - Roasted Beet Salad - lots of cold beet chunks and sprinkled with Valdeon cheese (white cheese similar to feta), Great way start the visit - Short Rib Bocadillo - really loved this - it was short ribs on a lobster roll (no lobster) and the onions really made the flavors pop - Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribs - not spicy - Mmm mmm good! - Flank Steak with green chimichurri - tender and delicious. It did have tiny ribbons of fat on some of the edges. - Patatas Bravas - good size of roasted potatoes, tomato sauce with a drizzle of garlic aioli - Jamon Serrano Croquettes (ham and cheese) - Lollipop chicken - really good fried chicken legs with lots of meat at the top - Pan Seared Blackened tuna with corn avocado salad and micro cilantro. You don't taste the olive oil. It was a denser golden cake. - Flourless chocolate cake covered in a white anglaise sauce and sprinkled with cocoa powder We had the red sangria which was good and came with a dendrobium orchid. We noticed the amount seemed low, about 1/3 full, in the glass but the table next to use had more like 1/2 full in the glass. The restaurant sits on the rooftop, offering beautiful views of both the bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Our family of seven arrived for a 4:45 PM dinner reservation and was seated in the dining area past the bar on the left. To start, I ordered the El Fuerte cocktail ($13), made with habanero tequila, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon, sangria, mint, and orange. For dinner, our group of seven decided to share 17 tapas along with one small large experience. We made a brunch reservation and the place was super busy. They have a bottomless brunch for $52 per person but that means your entire party must order bottomless option. If you do then you can eat like kings and explore the vast brunch menu. We chose to order the regular way and each ordered 2 -3 small plates and our bill was at $175 after tip. The place is beautiful and once you get on that roof you seem to Asend to another place. Service was provided by many and average in my opinion. Spain Wine Bar certainly lived up to the hype. I've been dying to try it after hearing rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. The space itself is massive, and beautifully and intentionally designed. It's on the top floor of the hotel with a really stunning interior. We had a 9:00 PM reservation on a Saturday night. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because this place was insanely crowded. Despite how busy it was, we were seated promptly right at the time of our reservation. The food and drinks were outstanding across the board. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Patatas Bravas were a favorite of mine. The cocktails and mocktails were excellent--the house Negroni was one of the best I've had. One thing worth noting: this is definitely a lively and loud space. Great for groups, celebrations, or an upbeat dinner night, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a quiet or intimate evening. Lastly, the staff were all incredibly warm, kind, quick, and hospitable. Even with how packed the restaurant was, service didn't feel chaotic or inattentive. Every time I come here I LOVE it. You walk into the Cambria suites, questioning if it will be good but you walk in, and it's a vibey oasis, with amazing reggaeton music, and the food and drinks are perfection. It's a foodie tapas restaurant, so some foodie plays on the traditional Spanish tapas, like the Spanish tortilla. But they're delicious nevertheless! Came into the Spain Wine bar to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary which was on a Saturday. It was off season and I was so surprised to see the massive crowd waiting for tables outside the entrance of the restaurant. This restaurant is located on the top of the Cambria hotel. I heard it was popular, but even with a reservation we had to wait over 25 minutes to be sat at our table. And our table was a high top right in the bar area which was a little disappointing. It was up against a window that I'm sure would have given us an amazing view but it was already so dark outside. The interior of the restaurant was also extremely dim. Because of where we were sat it was extremely loud and I felt a little stuffed into the seat since there was a party of 5 directly behind me sitting. The menu is expansive. We obviously celebrated with a bottle of wine and our server Nina (I think that was her name) was very attentive and always made sure our glasses were filled. The bread was delicious and we decided on a couple tapas. It was hard to eat just because the table was tiny. The food was beautifully presented and came out staggered which was nice. The steak was great, the calamari was very standard. And the crab fritters tasted like a lot of filler.. our favorite was the mushroom and scallop risotto. I'm not a scallop girl but the risotto was cooked beautifully and had such a savory unique buttery flavor that I'm still thinking about! I'd come here again but 10000% please make a reservation!! I would have given this review 5 stars if solely based on the food however needed to knock it down a few points for the service. We had a 7pm resy for 10 girls for a bachelorette party and were seated about 10 minutes late which was fine however after we sat it took another 30 mins for them to even bring us water or the two pitchers of sangria we had ordered immediately. We ordered a bunch of the tapas to split and the largest size paella. Since other people were bringing the food to our table though it felt like our waitress barely ever came back to check on us. When we were all finished the waitress brought the check over, we paid and then they brought out a dessert and a glass of champagne to celebrate our bride, a cute touch but I thought was funny that they dropped off 10 small plates assuming we were going to cut pieces of the tiny cake the gave us (enough for about a spoonful for each of us lol). This is when the service got troublesome. As our bride was finishing up her dessert the waitress comes back and tells us she forgot to add a few drinks we ordered to the bill (which again, we had already paid). However when she tells us this, she did not have a corrected bill with her, she walks away and says she'll be back. So now we're all finished and just waiting for her to come back. You'd think since it was her mistake for leaving the drinks off the bill she would either have the corrected bill ready for us when she told us or just comp the drinks since we already paid and we're getting ready to leave. Our waitress was nowhere in sight and we did not want to wait any longer so we left money on the table and left. On our way out the waitress saw us and said "oh don't worry about those drinks" to which we told her there was money on the table but overall just an odd situation. As for the food. Genuinely everything was delicious. The tapas style was fun although a little hard to split with such a large group but I did get to taste most of what we ordered. Would highly recommend the mussels, the shrimp balls, and the beef empanadas although I don't think you could go wrong with anything. And the paella was very very good. read more

We sat at the bar they were very busy but the bartender was awesome. It did take a little while to get drinks, but we didn't worry because the bartender was busting his butt and accommodated us very nicely and apologized. As far as the food it was just OK. We ordered three tapas and a main dish and they were good but nothing that was wow the Rice seafood dish we ordered we were not impressed. Maybe it's just the dish and it was not for me. Spain Wine Bar is a rooftop tapas-style wine bar and restaurant. It's located on top of the Cambria Hotel on St. Louis Avenue in Ocean City. I love trying a variety of dishes, so tapas are always a favorite of mine, and this place absolutely delivered, meeting every imaginable expectation. The food was delicious, our server Milos was friendly and attentive throughout, and the dining area was beautiful, offering an incredible rooftop view of Isle of Wight Bay. We started with the crispy calamari served with a smoky chipotle aioli and a perfectly cooked flank steak complemented by a flavorful green chimichurri. Next, we tried the beef sliders, BBQ pork ribs, and butter lobster risotto. The sliders were juicy and packed with flavor, topped with Mahon cheese, tomato, caramelized onion, arugula, and garlic aioli. The ribs were coated in a rich chipotle BBQ sauce and practically melted in our mouths, while the risotto was creamy and indulgent, with generous chunks of fresh lobster. For our main, the "Large Experience," we split the Valencia, a Spanish paella featuring New York strip steak, chorizo, sausage, chicken, green beans, chickpeas, and garlic aioli. Easily the best paella I've ever had. For dessert, we shared the pistachio lava cake and olive oil cake. While it was the least impressive part of the meal, both desserts were still delightful and a perfect sweet finish. read more

The restaurant's view of the sunset from the eighth floor was breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the white sangria I ordered--it was very delicious and beautifully garnished with an orchid flower. I had the potato and flank steak; both were tasty, but the portions were quite small, more like snack-sized. One downside was the parking situation: the designated parking spaces for restaurant customers were not sufficient, and there were warning signs about the risk of towing if we parked in the hotel's blue lots. It took us about 20 minutes of driving around to finally find a place to park. Although the waitress was very kind and provided excellent service, the front desk staff was rather impolite. When I arrived, I mentioned my friend's first name and informed them that my friend was already sitting at the table waiting for me and my partner. However, I was not allowed to proceed to the dining area and was repeatedly asked to provide my friend's last name, who had booked the table, before being permitted to enter. I found this process unnecessary and uncomfortable, and it left me wondering if there may have been some bias in the way I was treated. Started out with some drinks, I got a lime cocktail and my family got some red sangria (both delicious, but took about 15 mins to come out due to the rush of people). Then we placed tapas orders by the round and shared between us. Standouts for me were the crab dip, chicken lollipop, and calamari. The waitress was kind enough to recommend her favorite tapas because the menu was big, but everything we got was high quality and came out fairly quickly. Our waitress let us know that our tapas might come out at different times because they send them to the tables as soon as they're ready from the kitchen. This ensures that everything is as fresh as possible. We each ended up ordering 2 tapas each and shared one dessert and we were all SO full. I thought it was going to be crazy expensive, but it only was about $50 per person for drinks, food, and dessert. For the view, the service, and the quality of the food, $50 per person is a steal in my opinion. I would absolutely come back if I find myself in Ocean City again. read more

First of all it's our favorite eatery in Ocean City MD. Having said that the food is varied and tasteful. I have two staples there. The first is the beet salad and the other is the Olive oil cake. In between that there's much too enjoy. The recent visit I had the flavorful sliders and my wife had the lamb chops which she said were delicious. Ioan was our server and he was attentive yet not invasive. He offered us a celebratory dessert as we celebrated an anniversary.For us the setting is part of the attraction to the restaurant. Had reservations tonight for a birthday celebration for my spouse. Our reservation was at 6:45 but we got there a little early and ended up getting seated right our reservation time if not a few minutes early which was a great start considering how busy there were! We were seated on the rooftop and had a great view from our table. Immediately we were greeted and brought water and had our drink order taken. Our waitress explained the menu and we decided on all Tapas. The street corn is something I could eat for breakfast lunch and dinner every day so 10/10. The crab dip was delicious as well but not super strong crabby taste which made it about a 7/10 for me. I'm not a huge mushroom fan but I did have one and I enjoyed it a lot! The crispy calamari was a 10/10 as well and the chipotle aioli that came with it was the perfect pairing. The Gambas Al Alijo was also delicious! Perfect amount of seasoning. We also got the flank steak which was very good but we did ask for it to be cooked medium and it came out more well done than anything but still delicious! We ended the night with a nice little birthday surprise tart, complimentary. A very cute touch! Overall we loved the place and I'll definitely be visiting again and recommending! read more

Excellent food, service and ambiance! No wonder it's so hard to get a reservation here. Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond for my bday celebration at this restaurant. We sat outdoors and it was windy and chilly. She noticed I was cold and offered me a blanket. We definitely ordered too much food for two people, but they have so many things on their menu that I wanted to try! Ended up taking some paella to go. My only complaint is that even though we made a reservation and we showed up on time for it, we still had to sit in the crowded lobby and wait maybe 30min extra. Nobody called us and we had to go up to the hostess to check on our status and it was only then that they finally said there's a table for us. So make sure to not sit too long, don't be shy and ask the hostess if your table is ready bcus it could be possible they forgot about you! read more
