Every time I come here I LOVE it. You walk into the Cambria suites, questioning if it will be good but you walk in, and it's a vibey oasis, with amazing reggaeton music, and the food and drinks are perfection. It's a foodie tapas restaurant, so some foodie plays on the traditional Spanish tapas, like the Spanish tortilla. But they're delicious nevertheless! We had quite the sampling: Queso de trufa negra Camarones al ajillo Patatas bravas Spanish tortilla Mussels Shrimp croquetas Flank steak Each plate was absolutely delicious. I am so glad we spotted the Spain Wine Bar Social Hour before the end of our week in Ocean City. You should know it is from 3-5 Tu-Th and Fri 2-5 at the bar. The bartender asked about food sensitivities and said the chef will adjust the sampler menu to accommodate. Although we didn't order it, we appreciated the opportunity to customize if needed. Happy hour included $8 sangria and cocktails, and bar snacks $6-14, and the view is amazing from the 8th floor of Cambria Hotel. There are a few spaces set aside for Spain Wine Bar, so park only in red marked spaces as the rest are hotel reserved. I liked the post that shared this tip with us, as parking at the beach (or bay) can be a problem at peak times. For snacks, we ordered the olives; forgot to take a picture but a generous portion of large and small black and green pungent olives, marinated in herbs and olive oil. Perfect. The Mussels, Empanadas and Garlic Shrimp were next. The Empanadas were light flaky fried pies, stuffed with ground beef and sauce. Perfect example of an empanada, and the red pepper sauce garnishing the plate was a nice accompaniment. The garlic shrimp were swimming in rich garlic laden olive oil, with bits of herbs and a couple of deadly little peppers. This dish didn't send me, although I certainly ate it all. The texture was good but the flavor was surprisingly bland. Finally the mussels in an amazing red sauce, so rich with roasted tomatoes and chorizo, it was hard not to spoon it directly. The chef really nailed this dish!!! We agreed this could be a double order next time, a delicious and good value find! I should have nibbled on almonds and sipped sangria all night, but alas we had to pack for departure from paradise. Here is what we had over three dinners: - Cheese and Charcuterie Board with Drunken Goat cheese (mild flavor) and Jamon Serrano. It came with olives, apricot jam, and mixed nuts. We ran out of crackers and cheese quickly, so I would recommend getting two cheeses and extra bread. - Roasted Beet Salad - lots of cold beet chunks and sprinkled with Valdeon cheese (white cheese similar to feta), Great way start the visit - Short Rib Bocadillo - really loved this - it was short ribs on a lobster roll (no lobster) and the onions really made the flavors pop - Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribs - not spicy - Mmm mmm good! - Flank Steak with green chimichurri - tender and delicious. It did have tiny ribbons of fat on some of the edges. - Patatas Bravas - good size of roasted potatoes, tomato sauce with a drizzle of garlic aioli - Jamon Serrano Croquettes (ham and cheese) - Lollipop chicken - really good fried chicken legs with lots of meat at the top - Pan Seared Blackened tuna with corn avocado salad and micro cilantro. This was tasty but not a lot of tuna for the price - Pistachio gelato - light pistachio flavor - Olive OIl Cake with vanilla bean ice cream - big enough to share. We enjoyed it and it was different. You don't taste the olive oil. It was a denser golden cake. - Flourless chocolate cake covered in a white anglaise sauce and sprinkled with cocoa powder We had the red sangria which was good and came with a dendrobium orchid. We noticed the amount seemed low, about 1/3 full, in the glass but the table next to use had more like 1/2 full in the glass. Spain Wine Bar certainly lived up to the hype. I've been dying to try it after hearing rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. The space itself is massive, and beautifully and intentionally designed. It's on the top floor of the hotel with a really stunning interior. We had a 9:00 PM reservation on a Saturday night. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because this place was insanely crowded. Despite how busy it was, we were seated promptly right at the time of our reservation. The food and drinks were outstanding across the board. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Patatas Bravas were a favorite of mine. The cocktails and mocktails were excellent--the house Negroni was one of the best I've had. One thing worth noting: this is definitely a lively and loud space. Great for groups, celebrations, or an upbeat dinner night, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a quiet or intimate evening. Lastly, the staff were all incredibly warm, kind, quick, and hospitable. Even with how packed the restaurant was, service didn't feel chaotic or inattentive. The service was fantastic from the hostess stand outside, to the hostess stand inside, to our server, to all the staff we interacted with while swapping plates. The food was incredible and we had a hard time narrowing down what to eat because so many things sounded and looked amazing. Then top it all off with an incredible view and it made for the perfect date night. The Tapas selection is SPOT ON! Food was EXCELLENT! We had Flank Steak, Roasted Cauliflower, Shrimp, Potato Tortilla, Buratta, and Chicken Kebab. Finding the wine to enhance the food was a breeze since they have a lovely wine list as well as any other drink you fancy. The only slight downside was our server "Wanna" is new and through no fault of her own, was not very helpful to as we were making our selections. I would have given this review 5 stars if solely based on the food however needed to knock it down a few points for the service. We had a 7pm resy for 10 girls for a bachelorette party and were seated about 10 minutes late which was fine however after we sat it took another 30 mins for them to even bring us water or the two pitchers of sangria we had ordered immediately. We ordered a bunch of the tapas to split and the largest size paella. Since other people were bringing the food to our table though it felt like our waitress barely ever came back to check on us. When we were all finished the waitress brought the check over, we paid and then they brought out a dessert and a glass of champagne to celebrate our bride, a cute touch but I thought was funny that they dropped off 10 small plates assuming we were going to cut pieces of the tiny cake the gave us (enough for about a spoonful for each of us lol). This is when the service got troublesome. As our bride was finishing up her dessert the waitress comes back and tells us she forgot to add a few drinks we ordered to the bill (which again, we had already paid). However when she tells us this, she did not have a corrected bill with her, she walks away and says she'll be back. So now we're all finished and just waiting for her to come back. You'd think since it was her mistake for leaving the drinks off the bill she would either have the corrected bill ready for us when she told us or just comp the drinks since we already paid and we're getting ready to leave. Our waitress was nowhere in sight and we did not want to wait any longer so we left money on the table and left. On our way out the waitress saw us and said "oh don't worry about those drinks" to which we told her there was money on the table but overall just an odd situation. As for the food. Genuinely everything was delicious. The tapas style was fun although a little hard to split with such a large group but I did get to taste most of what we ordered. Would highly recommend the mussels, the shrimp balls, and the beef empanadas although I don't think you could go wrong with anything. And the paella was very very good. read more

Came to Spain last year on vacation, and it was fantastic. Sat in the bar area at a high top, had excellent service, a great view, and a great time. Returning this year, I scheduled a reservation months in advance for 4 people at 7:00. We showed up at 6:50 to the host stand, checked in, informed the host it would only be two people and were told to wait a few minutes which is understandable as we were early. At 7:10, the host asked if we were part of a large group with a different name. I said no, my name, party of two. He stated my reservation now showed zero guests which was "impossible" in his words. We were assured it would be another few minutes. 7:15 we were taken to the very loud rooftop area and sat at a small table with an obstructed view. At 7:25 our server finally reached our table and apologized for the wait. She also informed us, that if we lied and said we had been celebrating something, or were first time guests, we would have been sat quicker and in a better section. Which aligns with the host asking every person they checked if they were celebrating anything. We each ordered 3 glass of wine, charcuterie, tapas, and a main all while the server was there for the first time. About 5-7 minutes later, my guest was served 2/3 glasses of the wine she ordered. 2 minutes later, her third glass arrived. Then our charcuterie arrived at 7:50. I still have no wine at this point and have been here for an hour, I was ready to walk out. My guest took it upon herself to ask the (different) server who delivered our charcuterie to assist with my wine order. He was very apologetic to us and nice, stating that was unacceptable; we agreed. He assured us my wine would arrive in the next minute or so as our server was making it now. During this time, there was a noticeable manager hovering around the open patio, slovenly dressed. He stopped at a 6 top near by to ask how everything was when they had nothing on their table. He must have walked past me with nothing in front of me 10 times within the first hour and had no clue. The rest of the meal was mostly without fault. The scallops were unevenly cooked and my guest spit hers (undercooked) into a napkin, while mine was overcooked, but edible. The shrimp in the paella was overcooked and had an off texture as well. The mussels in the paella were small and overcooked also. The calamari, carrots, and charcuterie were delightful though. Overall a pretty bad experience especially compared to last years stellar visit. I am strongly considering not returning in future. For a $500.00 dinner for two people(including a $90 tip), this was extremely unacceptable. We have spent FAR less at places where a jacket is required for men and received bending-over-backward service. I am extremely disappointed in my most recent visit. read more

Came into the Spain Wine bar to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary which was on a Saturday. It was off season and I was so surprised to see the massive crowd waiting for tables outside the entrance of the restaurant. This restaurant is located on the top of the Cambria hotel. I heard it was popular, but even with a reservation we had to wait over 25 minutes to be sat at our table. And our table was a high top right in the bar area which was a little disappointing. It was up against a window that I'm sure would have given us an amazing view but it was already so dark outside. The interior of the restaurant was also extremely dim. Because of where we were sat it was extremely loud and I felt a little stuffed into the seat since there was a party of 5 directly behind me sitting. The menu is expansive. We obviously celebrated with a bottle of wine and our server Nina (I think that was her name) was very attentive and always made sure our glasses were filled. The bread was delicious and we decided on a couple tapas. It was hard to eat just because the table was tiny. The food was beautifully presented and came out staggered which was nice. The steak was great, the calamari was very standard. And the crab fritters tasted like a lot of filler.. our favorite was the mushroom and scallop risotto. I'm not a scallop girl but the risotto was cooked beautifully and had such a savory unique buttery flavor that I'm still thinking about! I'd come here again but 10000% please make a reservation!! Wow wow wow. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Beautiful rooftop wine bar and tapas spot with gorgeous views and attentive staff. I booked a reservation for 4 a day in advance (definitely recommend because it was busy). The restaurant is on the 8th floor of a hotel. We got a nice spot on the rooftop area during sunset. Started out with some drinks, I got a lime cocktail and my family got some red sangria (both delicious, but took about 15 mins to come out due to the rush of people). Then we placed tapas orders by the round and shared between us. Standouts for me were the crab dip, chicken lollipop, and calamari. The waitress was kind enough to recommend her favorite tapas because the menu was big, but everything we got was high quality and came out fairly quickly. Our waitress let us know that our tapas might come out at different times because they send them to the tables as soon as they're ready from the kitchen. This ensures that everything is as fresh as possible. We each ended up ordering 2 tapas each and shared one dessert and we were all SO full. I thought it was going to be crazy expensive, but it only was about $50 per person for drinks, food, and dessert. For the view, the service, and the quality of the food, $50 per person is a steal in my opinion. I would absolutely come back if I find myself in Ocean City again. read more

Had reservations tonight for a birthday celebration for my spouse. Our reservation was at 6:45 but we got there a little early and ended up getting seated right our reservation time if not a few minutes early which was a great start considering how busy there were! We were seated on the rooftop and had a great view from our table. Immediately we were greeted and brought water and had our drink order taken. Our waitress explained the menu and we decided on all Tapas. The street corn is something I could eat for breakfast lunch and dinner every day so 10/10. The crab dip was delicious as well but not super strong crabby taste which made it about a 7/10 for me. I'm not a huge mushroom fan but I did have one and I enjoyed it a lot! The crispy calamari was a 10/10 as well and the chipotle aioli that came with it was the perfect pairing. The Gambas Al Alijo was also delicious! Perfect amount of seasoning. We also got the flank steak which was very good but we did ask for it to be cooked medium and it came out more well done than anything but still delicious! I am writing this review as I finish up my meal and I am disappointed in the quality of some of the tapas. My wife and I came last year and loved it so much we had to come back a second year in a row. The views are impeccable and service is always great, but the quality of the individual dishes has decreased dramatically. Spain Wine Bar is a rooftop tapas-style wine bar and restaurant. It's located on top of the Cambria Hotel on St. Louis Avenue in Ocean City. I love trying a variety of dishes, so tapas are always a favorite of mine, and this place absolutely delivered, meeting every imaginable expectation. The food was delicious, our server Milos was friendly and attentive throughout, and the dining area was beautiful, offering an incredible rooftop view of Isle of Wight Bay. We started with the crispy calamari served with a smoky chipotle aioli and a perfectly cooked flank steak complemented by a flavorful green chimichurri. Next, we tried the beef sliders, BBQ pork ribs, and butter lobster risotto. The sliders were juicy and packed with flavor, topped with Mahon cheese, tomato, caramelized onion, arugula, and garlic aioli. The ribs were coated in a rich chipotle BBQ sauce and practically melted in our mouths, while the risotto was creamy and indulgent, with generous chunks of fresh lobster. For our main, the "Large Experience," we split the Valencia, a Spanish paella featuring New York strip steak, chorizo, sausage, chicken, green beans, chickpeas, and garlic aioli. Easily the best paella I've ever had. For dessert, we shared the pistachio lava cake and olive oil cake. We sat outdoors and it was windy and chilly. She noticed I was cold and offered me a blanket. We definitely ordered too much food for two people, but they have so many things on their menu that I wanted to try! Ended up taking some paella to go. My only complaint is that even though we made a reservation and we showed up on time for it, we still had to sit in the crowded lobby and wait maybe 30min extra. Nobody called us and we had to go up to the hostess to check on our status and it was only then that they finally said there's a table for us. Paul from Romania (Amazing), he took us through the whole experience, explaining the menu, explaining how the kitchen works, making suggestion about the drink menu. I don't even know where to begin with Spain wine bar. This place blew all my tapas expectations out of the water. I don't think I have ever been to a better one. To start, we were gifted a last minute date night from the grandparents. I called to see how long a wait would be for a walk in and the hostess very happily squeezed us in for a reservation even thought they were booked online. We drove to the hotel and they only have about 15 parking spots. I thought, this will be a tiny restaurant with only this much parking. Wrong. We found a park mobile spot about 2 blocks away and it was nice to walk after eating the way we did. When you walk in, they give you the feel of a small Spanish wine cellar. The bar is trendy, all the wine vibes, and breezy from the open air windows. Then they walk you to the back and you are truly transported to Europe. It was magical. Almost like a Disney restaurant where you don't feel like you are anywhere that you actually are. Once we sat down, we ordered probably about half the menu. I couldn't even get pictures of everything and I don't even know how to advise you because literally everything was that good. The cocktails were on point, the food was phenomenal, and the service was outstanding. Our table was never crowded with plates, the waitress was quick to refill drinks and make sure we were attended to, but never bothered us too much. Some of the must order items for next time are the tuna crudo, the short rib poutine, and the bacon wrapped dates. I felt like somebody feed Phil because the dates actually made me dance. Even the free bread was probably some of the better bread I've had at restaurants! This is one of my new ocean city favorites. We had reservations for dinner at Spain Wine Bar and it was a fabulous dinner experience. It's a Spanish tapas bar on the roof of Hotel Cambria overlooking the bay, so the ambiance is quite upscale and classy. We ordered about 6 different tapas and the small Valencia paella for our party of four that it was plenty of food and we had leftovers. We tried the lollipop chicken, mahi mahi, shrimp, croquettes, beef sliders, and calamari. All dishes were delicious and tasty. We even finished dinner off with the coconut cream flan for dessert, which was a delicious ending to our meals. We chose this restaurant for a date night and left very disappointed. Although the food itself was decent, the overall dining experience was not. Our meals did not arrive at the same time. My boyfriend received all of his food, finished his meal, and then waited another 30-40 minutes while I was still waiting for mine. After such a long delay, I ended up canceling my order. When the manager stopped by and asked how everything was, we explained what had happened. Rather than apologizing, he seemed annoyed and told us that what I had ordered takes longer to prepare. If that was the case, we should have been informed when we placed our order so we could have made a different choice. To his credit, he did offer to have me order something else, but by then we had already been at the restaurant for over an hour, so I declined. To make matters worse, we then waited another 15 minutes just to receive our check. We had visited for brunch last year and had a good experience, which is why we decided to return. Ordered lamb bolognese, duck breast, winter salad, meatballs and lump crab fritter things. The winter salad actually never came but the staff was very apologetic and comped us a dessert (we got the olive oil cake). Lamb bolognese and duck were both good, cooked well and good flavor. The meatballs (albondiagas) we did not like, they were dry and very forward in a spice we couldn't identify. Crab things were fine but I could do without them. Olive oil cake was probably my favorite dish of the night (minus the ice cream). Overall a good meal and would come back and try other dishes. read more

My husband and I made a visit to Spain during a new year's trip to OC. They give directions on parking, but it can still be a little confusing when it's dark. The restaurant is in the Cambria hotel before ocean gateway, and you take the elevator to the 8th floor. We had a reservation and were seated about 10 minutes later. The waiting area was absolutely packed, as was the indoor and outdoor dining areas. We had Lourdes as our waitress, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive! I'm a huge fan of Del Mar in DC so I was excited to see how Spain compares. Spain is fantastic for the OC area, and you wouldn't necessarily expect such good tapas in the area. For those more familiar with tapas, it's very good some dishes better than others but not the best I've ever had. The service and drinks also made it an amazing experience. We sat in the outdoor rooftop area, luckily under heating lamps but some people weren't and requested to be moved indoors. For dinner, we ordered the flank steak, gambas, tuna tartare, mussels with chorizo, croquettes, and patatas bravas. The steak was done medium, and was quite tender with chimichurri on top. This is a good portion for 2-3 if you're doing a bunch of tapas or other items. The mussels were very good and it came with diced chorizo (not ground). It was fantastic and good with the bread. It definitely could have used maybe some diced onion or a little more herbs. The tuna was absolutely fantastic, and could serve 3-4. It came with avocado and cucumber which added a perfect crunch. I'd have loved if the crackers were plain or another flavor besides everything bagel seasoned, but my husband loved it. The tuna tasted fresh too. The gambas / shrimp were good, it came with about 6-7 pieces that were medium sized. It wasn't very hot when it came out, just a little warm. The chilis and garlic added the perfect spice and flavor to the oil, which is the best with the bread! The patatas bravas were in a huge dish, double other tapas places. It did have a little more mayo and sauce than needed, but super good and crispy. Lastly, the croquettes were amazing. I forgot to order them upfront and I'm glad I remembered to add them later! They were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Came dusted with paprika. They were probably tied as a top dish if I could give ties lol. They have a great drink and wine selection, the food comes out quick, 2-20 minutes depending on the item. My husband and I ranked our tapas by favorites: tuna, mussels, croquettes, shrimp, steak, patatas. (He liked the mussels more than the shrimp, but I liked the shrimp more!). The pricing is a little higher, but it's also a nicer spot in the OC, so it's as expected. We will definitely be back next time we're in OC! So good! read more

So beautiful located on the eighth floor of the Cambria hotel in O.C. with beautifully draped white wisteria and roof that opens up. I felt like I was in a real life fairytale! The tapas were delicious most especially the green chimichurri with the most tender flank steak. The patatas bravas paired well with flank steak and used the potatoes to soak up chimichurri sauce. The red sangria with the fruit frozen in the ice cubes was so refreshing ! Loved the orchid garnish. The spectacular view of the bay at sunset was breathtaking. It gets very busy at sunset for photo taking. The restaurant is expensive but worth for overall experience of the food and view! read more
