Edgar's Grille is consistently marvelous - a wonderful, upscale but casual restaurant that's different from anything else in Augusta. The fried green tomato salad is incredible, and if mussels are ever on special - GET THEM. read more

Very cool experience at Edgar's. The food was great and seeing the students learn their craft was awesome.

Took the wife here after work. Our server was very knowledgeable & super friendly. We had the cheese plate specials & fried calamari. Cheese plate was very special & unique, but also pricey $15. Calamari was ok, the bland sauce could use some spices. Draft beer & special cocktail was very good. My chicken entree was ok. Sides on it were good, but chicken was so-so. My wife's pork belly pork southern dish was awesome. Very fresh pork served with greens & red beans & corn break in a cast iron like bowl. We did not get dessert. Ambiance & service make us want to return to try other dishes. Great location for us - right down the road. read more

This place was pretty good. They had an interesting menu that really offered something for everyone when it came to brunch. I really enjoyed our booth- it was big and comfy and the decor was nice. The reason I gave 3 stars is our service was not that great- the server was slow and disappeared for long stretches of time and it took a while to get just our coffee and drinks- which I felt like should never happen at a breakfast/brunch spot. It was also a little on the expensive side for what you get but the atmosphere was nice. I don't think we would go back unless someone else really wanted to. read more

If give zero stars. Service is horrible. No bread, no pizza for apps no good service. I'll never be back,to this place bc of this expierence

I'm disappointed other people would give this place one or two stars. It's clearly a five star place. We were able to get a reservation, despite it being masters week. The surf and turf and stuffed pork-chop were excellent. We had a huge slice of pecan cheesecake and amazing manhattans. Yes, it was pricy because of the masters, but everyone does that. I'd rather go here and enjoy my meal and give back a bit than hang out down the street. read more

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My family had brunch here to celebrate my brothers engagement. The staff was very friendly, the food delicious and reasonably priced. This restaurant promotes Goodwill as well. read more

We went yesterday to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. All I have to say is the host was very rude. But about the food and the waitress everything was excellent. I had a filet mignon with Sparagus and mash sweet potato and he had the seafood soup. The only thing I would change about the place is the host attitude. read more

I am really displeased to see how many poor reviews this place has, especially for timeliness. I came here on a Friday night at 6 pm and my service was very quick and I never went with an empty water glass. The food was delicious, we ordered an appetizer, the pimento cheese and we loved it! I ordered a salad for dinner and my boyfriend salmon and we were very pleased and were in and out of this place in 40 minutes tops. And, we got dessert! They offer free birthday dessert, I didn't know this and told my boyfriend, "what kind of desert would you like birthday boy" and the waitress told us it would be free for his birthday. Overall 5 stars. It's very classy and has a special atmosphere. Very impressed. read more

Went here 2 weeks ago had the shrimp and grits, it was excellent, Service was outstanding. Will definitely be back soon

We were "those people" ... We came within the last 30 minutes before closing. They made our anniversary dinner amazing! Food was bomb.com and the staff was just as great! I had the yummy shrimp snd grits with andouille sausage and he had the pork chops with a veggie mix. All hefty portions and delish. To help us celebrate, they allowed us to have dessert on them. The pb&j cheesecake was awesome!! 10/5 for me! read more

Edgar's Grille - Shrimp & grits w. Andouille sausage! - New American Near Me - Augusta, Georgia

Very disappointing food experience. I decided to try Edgars To Go and ordered a pizza (salumi) and the pear salad. The $10 pear salad consisted of bagged spring lettuce, sparing sprinkles of goat cheese, a small container of dressing and OMG "canned pears"! Really??? Canned pears! I was shocked at the cheap ingredients. The pizza flavor was good but Edgar's doe is consistently HEAVY and once again using inexpensive meat/toppings that runs customers $15 per pizza (it resembled a $3 frozen pizza). To Go service (from the bar) was excellent. With complete respect I say; Edgars in Evans is fortunate to not be located in a food scene demanding high quality because they wouldn't make it... Or, maybe it would result in a greater pursuit of food excellence. Cheap is cheap. read more

Got served some asparagus which had a big purple rubber band in it! My meal was only halved off. Was extremely surprised it wasnt comped!! The mgr needs training still, not just the cooks! Also, had to point out to the mgr that my meal was not comped at all. Very disappointing, for Edgar's. read more

Great atmosphere and good. The pork chop was tender enough to cut with a form. Greens were great along with crusted shrimp.

Staff is super friendly. Food was excellent. The bar tender was very helpful. He suggested the lamb (which I don't normally like). I trusted his opinion and ended up with a fantastic meal. When I ordered desert the waiter, without prompting, told me about the options that paired best with my beer. Oh, and the beer selection is excellent. They have Aventinus, my favorite! read more

One word: Delicious! Love this place. Eat here for lunch every week. Great for my business meetings and have the best patio around. read more

Fantastic food. Very beautiful decor, and friendly service. Will definitely be going back.

My husband and I ate here for their Sunday brunch. It is a buffet, but for the $60 bill, we were underwhelmed. The front of house staff was nice, but the food service staff or "chefs in training" were in desperate need of a tremendous amount more coaching and lessons in professionalism. For instance, we approached the Buffet that we had been told by FOH staff was staff-served due to COVID and received no greeting and a blank stare from the chef. I then asked "Do we grab plates?" And motioned to the stack of plates and then was told no they would serve us...but they never opened the servers to let us look at the actual food so we just had to tell them what we wanted off the menu tags. They were also out of fresh fruit and I mistakenly grabbed a decor piece of fruit thinking it was the plating and began to walk back to the dining room before hearing a chorus of SCREAMING servers who rushed out and snatched it back from my husband...it really was like being served by a bunch of high schoolers. read more

Delicious dinner and terrific service! The menu was varied and relied upon a lot of farm-to-table ingredients. Our meal was relaxing, filling and yummy! read more

Wow! Awesome meal at Edgar's. We started off with a small appetizer, the corn dip. Very good. My wife had stuffed pork chops - they were excellent. I went for the shellfish & grits - best I've had in the CSRA. Their twist was to add andouille sausage, panko-dipped & lightly fried shrimp, and shelled & chopped crawfish. Cheesy, spicy, and delicious. We finished up with a cinnamon-bun cheesecake. A true ricotta-based cheesecake, but very light & fluffy with tins of flavor. Plus, they comp'd us dessert since it was our anniversary. Service was also quick, unobtrusive, friendly, and impeccable. Can't wait until our next visit!! read more

Last night was my first time eating here. I was not disappointed. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I ordered the Pesce Fritto. That succotash was so good. I never thought I would love succotash so much lol. I will be coming back very soon read more

This past Tuesday evening we took friends to Edgar's. A GREAT experience. The service was impeccable. (I am always irritated when waitstaff asks you to "Keep your fork" for the next course. You won't find that happening at Edgar's!) While the restaurant was quite busy, the food came to us at just the right temeratures. The salads were cold and crisp and the appetizers and main courses were hot. I was not excited about one of the side items with my main course (salmon). They happily allowed a substitution. Looking for someplace new to take your wife, guests, or family. Try Edgar's! read more

It was FABULOUS! Everyting fresh! Great service and wonderful atmosphere. We will be back. D from Aiken read more

Lunch with Friends While service was excellent, the food was not. The chicken tenders arrived cold and with a very unusual looking breading that looked more like rubber, pasta dish that had more green sauce than pasta, shrimp and grits was said to be gritty. We have given more chances to this restaurant than it deserves. While they are boasting about a new chef, he had better change the menu, add a quality control person and try to do better or customers will be non existent as it was today for lunch. It's a nice place it just needs good food!!!! read more

The restaurant was beautiful. The staff was friendly and prompt. Pricing was fair for the portion size. Overall really great experience. Definitely would recommend. read more

I have heard lots of positive recommendations about this restaurant. We don't go out very often to nicer restaurants and I was very excited about going. My husband made a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night. When we arrived they did not have a table ready for us. I realize it was Saturday, and they were busy. We sat at the bar and the bartender handed us a drink menu, explained the specials, and then busied himself with cleaning glasses and had his back turned to us and didn't ask us if we wanted a drink. After sitting at the bar for 15 minutes, drinkless, the hostess seats us at this teeny tiny table right by the kitchen where the wait staff walks by. We're sitting about a foot away from another couple and if I stretched out my elbow too far I would've bumped the guy next to me. We got literally, the worst seating in the restaurant and we made reservations! Our service started off nicely. The waiter was very friendly and explained the specials and how the restaurant is run, and I'm looking forward to a tasty meal and trying to be positive. But it went downhill from there. Our server was waiting on a table of six and he couldn't seem to pull himself away from that table to serve us. He came by and took our order, then disappeared again. He'd run by and say it was on the way. So finally when we get our food he says he'll be back to check to see if we need anything. I got swordfish and it was mushy, not flaky. Probably because it was sitting under a heat lamp for God only knows how long. When the waiter finally came back he asked how everything was and I asked if I wanted any sauce for my fish. Nope not now, it would've been nice about 15 minutes earlier. No salt, no pepper, no bread on the table. The salad was soggy. If you're looking for an upscale restaurant in Augusta, this is not the place. read more

Highly recommend for outdoor dining. Hard to find a place to eat outside in Augusta that isn't on a busy road. They always have good specials and half price happy hour 4-7. read more

Decent decor inside, but sit outside on the patio in the fall! The calamari appetizer was great, it was a good portion for the price too. Everything else was pretty average though, which is why I only gave it three stars. read more

The food was good and the service very good. I think it was a bit overpriced for the location, food, and ambience. Just not the vibe for upscale dining. read more

Wonderful food. Nice place to get dressed up for, just too bad more people don't care how they dress to go out. Too much spandex and jeans that take away from a nice place. But nothing but good to say for the food. Kind of pricey but worth it. read more

Thrilled to find such a gem of a restaurant that also is a chance to promote Goodwill Industries. I'm a native of the area but haven't lived here for many years. My sister recommended it when I offered to take her out on her birthday. The dining room was spacious and the decor modern but not stuffy. The seating was arranged to accommodate small and large parties comfortably. Our server Shawn was very professional and well-informed about the daily special offerings and attentive to us throughout the meal. We complimented him on his excellent service during and after the meal. The menu showed such variety and at very reasonable prices. We had the the spring roll appetizers which were truly flavorful and generously portioned. I enjoyed the crab cakes for my entree and my sister a flatbread special of the day. We sampled each other's dish and agreed they were prepared perfectly. The chef graciously treated my sister to a slice of S'mores cheesecake since it was her birthday. We shared it but were not able to finish the ample piece. I cannot imagine anything that could have made the dining experience more enjoyable. The food, the ambiance and the service was flawless. I definitely plan to dine here again whenever I am back in town. read more

We went here for Mother's Day & we were very excited to try Edgar's. The restaurant itself was very posh & looked like one you'd fine in New York or LA. The complementary tiny muffins were good & made us even more excited to get our food. My brother ordered the clams appetizer & he ate every bite. Yet again we felt that the meal to come would be wonderful. But dads soup was not good at all. He hardly touched it and even adding salt didn't change his mind. This is were the meal took a turn for the worse. It took forever to get entrees. Yes I know that this was a reasonable possibility for this type of place, but it was really long, and nothing was coming out of the kitchen for any table. None of the staff even acknowledged that there was anything odd or off putting about this LONG WAIT. When our meals came we all were dissatisfied. Mom & my brother both ordered Eggs Benedict. Mom had the more traditional one & really felt like she was short changed. It tasted nothing like eggs Benedict, no sauce, & really sweet. My brother had the pork version & it was alright, but he would not order it again. Dad had the shrimp & grits & once again he ate very little. The dish had no flavor & looked just as boring. I had the Hamburger. Nothing much to say about it either positive or negative. Overall, this place could be great, but someone needs to take charge of that menu & give it some more flavor & excitement. Help these young culinary students & really watch the quality of what is coming out of the kitchen. read more

On Saturday night at 730pm, we waited 20 min to get water in a half full restaurant. Our waiter appeared lost. They ran out of bread and meatballs. We could not even order pizza because the oven was not working. This was unacceptable for a city like Augusta. read more

My fiancé and I have eaten at Edgar's before and have always walked away pleased, so when we found out they were serving brunch on Sundays, we couldn't wait to try it! At first we were told we would have to sit at the bar because we did not have a reservation and all of the tables were booked. No problem- we sat at the bar. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my fiancé their tequila, ginger ale, and lime drink. The drinks were ok, but nothing special or remarkable- just standard well liquor with store bought mix. For our meals, my fiancé ordered the Eggs Benedict & I the Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict. I pride myself on being a Southern girl, so to see this kind of option made my tastebuds do flips! After about 30 mins of waiting with a mostly empty dining room, our meals arrived. What a disappointment! For $14/plate, we expected the eggs to at least be correctly cooked and deliciously runny - but both of us received hard boiled eggs on half a biscuit with hollandaise sauce! My fried green tomatoes were very small and mostly batter, so paired with the over cooked eggs, my meal was edible and no where near the quality we expected. All in all, we paid around $60 for college-grade cocktails and over cooked brunch staples. We will NOT be coming back for brunch! Go to Bonefish and spend a third of the price for food twice as good! read more

My friend and I went to eat here yesterday for lunch. We were immediately seated and placed our order. We chose the crab dip and spring rolls for appetizers, I had the shrimp and cobb salad for my main meal and she had the salmon (blackened) with a house salad and the grits. Our food was WONDERFUL. From the appetizers to the main dish. We then decided to have the glutton free cheesecake--which we split. (The only issue we might have had was the waitress didn't understand that we wanted it split into two plates---we ended up having to cut it ourselves). OVERALL AN EXCELLENT experience and we will be going back. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. read more

A little more upscale than what I expected. The word grille threw me off. I would say it is more of a date night restaurant rather than take a co-worker out for dinner....a little awkward! Food and service were above average. In the end, good cause and I would go back. read more

Went to Edgars for brunch 8/2/15 with my wife, we were promptly greeted and sat at our table then waters by the servers assistant - spot on so far. Then came our waiter - greeted us and when I asked in return how his day was so far, I cannot even type the sound that came from his mouth! Maybe his dog ran away, girlfriend left him? Not sure but moving to Augusta from Las Vegas I am so surprised at the lack of "enthusiasm" from some of the waitstaff in this town. I tip very well - 20% MINIMUM but at least fake it. Ok on to the meal, both of us started with potato leak soup which both agreed was very good. Wife ordered grilled salad with chicken she said was good but probably wouldn't order again, I had sausage frittata. While the frittata was tasty and very large there was no side, no garnish, nothing. Kind of a homely- looking dish (should have taken a pic). Ate half of the order and asked for the rest to be boxed up, check came and asked for my to go and server looked totally confused. Paid for our meals and still waited for my frittata, after another 10 minutes of "searching" he returned and I couldn't help but wonder if I was going to be eating "frittata a la trash can"? Will always return to Edgars just hope for a better experience next time. read more
