I don't normally go around giving 5 stars for a buffet place, but I just did! Maybe because bad service seems to be the norm nowadays(I bartended/waitressed for 20 yrs and it drives me nuts!)and I would rather stay home most times. But the service I got on this particular day(Saturday 1:00) was excellent. I always order water to drink. My cup never had a chance to get low. Our server checked on us several times and took our used plates away when she did. She stayed moving and we kept her busy. It is a buffet after all! But let me back up for a minute. This place wasn't anything near what I thought we were going to eat. My cousin came to visit from ATL and I don't remember ever going to a buffet with her. She mostly likes fancy places or fusion for fun. So I was running behind schedule and told her while she was waiting, she could pick any place she wants. I was shocked when she said BJ's buffet. Because I love buffets. I always have and I always will. I was thrilled because I've never been and I've heard good things. I must've tried 95% of what they had to offer. Just a little bit of everything. OMG the fried chicken was the best! Everything about our visit to BJ's was above average. Even pulling up to a line of customers out of the door. At first, you think you'll be waiting forever, but it only took a few minutes. We actually made friends with the people waiting before us. Everyone and everything was just perfect. You don't get too many days like this. Well worth $15

"I love the food and the waitresses. I've been coming here since I was pregnant with my son, and the staff is always so nice. They even remember our drink orders. Highly recommend!"

Return trip here and it was great again. A full parking lot always is a good sign. Pay your way in and eat your way out. Ample selections of fresh made vegetables and a good selection of meats and even fried catfish too. Salad bar awesome with the standard toppings plus delicious chicken, potato and pasta salads... dessert bar too with fresh fruit and peach cobbler on the hot bar. A fav of mine pistachio fluff was on there too for the win!! When you need a fix of comfort food head over to the old Shoney's building in North Augusta.

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

The portion sizes are generous and very tasty. I made a Southern Palmer with their Peach Tea and Unsweetened Ice Tea 1/2 & 1/2 of both mixed together, was the perfect beverage to pair with the Honor Platter. I finished the honorable meal with The Strawberry Velvet Cake Brownie & Red Velvet Brownie dessert pairing. The service from when I stepped in, while eating and leaving was exceptional, inviting and very pleasant. Shurell was fabulous, vibrant and a fresh of breath air. I highly recommend Kitchen Kings x Natta's Sweet Bakery to discover Augusta's Hidden Gem off Gordon Hwy. The Ambiance was the perfect R&B Vibe for a casual, sexy Saturday. The music Playlist was the perfect R&B garnish to the entire dining experience. I will be back for their Low Country Boil & the wonderful Strawberry Velvet Cake. But South Carolina has the best BBQ of all the southern states when you can find the right stuff. BBQ Barn is the right stuff. They've got pulled pork with quality sauces, hash similar to what I make myself (therefore excellent), delicious southern sides, sweet (and unsweet) tea, various other meats (their burnt ends are yum!) and some desserts that look great but I haven't tried yet. They also aren't a buffet style restaurant which is a great thing in my opinion. They have a good amount of seating but I don't think they'll fit lots of large groups so keep that in mind. They do have a drive thru and you can order food to go. Unfortunately, they are also like other good BBQ places in their limited hours; they are only open Wednesday-Saturday each week so they can't be Sunday dinner or Monday emergency dinner unless you plan well ahead. The staff are nice and the restaurant is always clean enough. When we aren't making our own barbecue, we are probably getting barbecue from BBQ Barn (or the only other good bbq spot in the CSRA).

My first two visits were only 24 hours apart because it was so good. This time I experienced the same delicious food and quick service. I am impressed by the quality of the food (so fresh) and how kind everyone is here. I like to ask what they recommend, because the desserts change and the cashier was sweet and indulged my questions. I also can't speak highly enough if the sauces. I am a big fan of the spicy georgia red bbq sauce. The gold is also great, just a mustard flavor. I'm tempted to buy a bottle the next time I visit. My recommendation - Come visit on a warm day. Order a platter of food (2 meats will give you plenty of leftovers) and a slice of cake. Sit at the outside tables and enjoy. There are fans outside if it's too warm.

Southern charm, incredible lunch, legendary desserts, and truly wonderful service…read more Boll Weevil is one of those places that feels like you stumbled into something special. From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry.
