This was a great place to stop for lunch on our way back home. The Tuna Carpaccio was amazing! Donna got the tomato soup and salad, i got The pimento cheeseburger which was very good but since the tuna Carpaccio and the tomato soap was so good i was wishing i tried one of the sandwiches that I was on the fence about. The place has a cool vibe and the service was spot on.

Southern charm, incredible lunch, legendary desserts, and truly wonderful service Boll Weevil is one of those places that feels like you stumbled into something special. From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry. Save room for cake.

Grown up grilled cheese and corn chowder

Stopped in Boll Weevil recently for dinner with a colleague. It was a Monday night at 6:30pm and we were able to be seated straight away. The vibes are casual and comfortable which pairs perfectly with the fare. There was live music while we were there (which was pitch perfect in volume as we were still able to speak comfortably). We sat and my dining companion mentioned they have a decent number of stouts on menu. I ordered a spiced stout, which was amazing. We also ordered their fried green tomatoes, which were great. It was my first experience with fried green tomatoes and they seemed to be an elevated version with a drizzle of balsamic and a horseradish sauce to accompany. Lovely! For my main, I got the grown up grilled cheese and a cup of their corn chowder. The grilled cheese was a tasty combination of pimento cheese and applewood smoked bacon on sourdough. It was divine. The corn chowder is hearty and flavorful. The service was friendly and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

As the saying goes, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." And if you've been in Augusta you know downtown is ever changing (for the better). New places to eat, shop, and even art to discover. But just off the beaten path, though directly across from the Augusta Convention Center, is a spot that has been baking cakes, frying green tomatoes, and making bowls of corn chowder for 35 years! Boll Weevil is diverse in its clientele because of its diversity in offerings. You need a meal? Or just dessert? Or an entire cake? Or maybe one of the biggest selections of porters and stouts in the area? Yep, you guessed it. All right here at Boll Weevil. And come through to hear live music, join in on Bingo night, or experience a open mic. I have been here solo, as a couple, and with the extended family. There's seating and great customer service whatever the party size. If you haven't been, or it's been awhile, stop nito Boll Weevil soon. Also, bring your appetite for the desserts. They are humongous!

Stopped by here for lunch stopping through town on a Saturday. We had a wonderful server, Leila, who was super sweet and told us which dishes she recommends. We're glad we listened to her because her suggestions were good. We had the Havana Chicken with a side of Cesar salad and my husband had the Southern Gent Sammich with a side of corn chowder. I liked the chicken and the corn chowder but felt the rice that came with the chicken was not good. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. Lastly we finished with a slice of key lime pie which we both really enjoyed. In summary, the chicken itself, corn chowder and key lime pie were my favorites from what we ordered. Docking a star because the rice was not good with the chicken and that was a significant part of the dish. Thank you Leila for your hospitality!

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

The portion sizes are generous and very tasty. I made a Southern Palmer with their Peach Tea and Unsweetened Ice Tea 1/2 & 1/2 of both mixed together, was the perfect beverage to pair with the Honor Platter. I finished the honorable meal with The Strawberry Velvet Cake Brownie & Red Velvet Brownie dessert pairing. The service from when I stepped in, while eating and leaving was exceptional, inviting and very pleasant. Shurell was fabulous, vibrant and a fresh of breath air. I highly recommend Kitchen Kings x Natta's Sweet Bakery to discover Augusta's Hidden Gem off Gordon Hwy. The Ambiance was the perfect R&B Vibe for a casual, sexy Saturday. The music Playlist was the perfect R&B garnish to the entire dining experience. I will be back for their Low Country Boil & the wonderful Strawberry Velvet Cake. Kings Kitchen x Natta's Sweet Bakery will not disappoint you. In fact, it will make ypur day better. It was two filets selected but you get four filets and two cheese corn muffins. I also got the Arnold Palmers and they were cold and refreshing. The first night dinner was perfect. The catfish was fried semi-hard so had a nice crisp and was tender inside. I had collard greens as a side on both nights and they were bumping. They weren't canned greens or didn't taste like them and they were cooks right and there was meat in them (they were seasoned). The first night I had the bbq corn on the cob it was good and had a kind of peppery type of seasoning coating on it I got the two cheese corn muffins both nights. And on the second night my second side was the watermelon (seasonal fruit) the melon was sweet and fresh. The only thing I will say is that I could tell that maybe there was a different chef/cook the second evening order because the fish was good and tasty but was not fried semi-hard like I liked it cooked (like the evening before) and the cheesy corn muffins on that second night was burnt baby! They had black burns on the outer sides. But guess what? I would still eat there again if ever in Augusta. I don't know much about the in restaurant service as both nights I ordered by a meal delivery service. Oh yeah the Arnold Palmers were large sized and icy and tasty and again different people making them different nights the one from my second night order was super sweet to me but still good. The only improvement I'd ask for this place is to get some hot sauce for goodness sake! They have tartar sauce but I wanted some cocktail sauce and hot sauce for my catfish.

The woman at the register was helpful when I asked what was popular on the menu since it was our first visit, but she wasn't very welcoming. She never really smiled, and I wasn't sure how ordering and seating worked at first. On the other hand, the server who brought our food was super friendly and made a much better impression. I ordered the ribs with baked beans and collard greens, along with the brisket mac & cheese bites. The ribs had really good barbecue flavor, although they were a little tougher than I'd prefer. The brisket mac & cheese bites were delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. The collard greens were pretty decent--slightly bland, but still enjoyable. The baked beans started off really good, but after a few bites they became a little monotonous and had a slight sour taste. I think they'd be even better with some ground beef or sausage mixed in. My son ordered the smashburger with mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was cheesy, gooey, and probably one of our favorite sides. The smashburger was just okay. It tasted like a regular burger, and I was expecting more of that crispy, charred edge that makes a smashburger special. The only other thing I'd mention is that we felt a little rushed while we were eating. Even so, the food was flavorful, the restaurant was clean, and I'd definitely stop by again if I lived in the area.

The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! "Let me get it all full and pretty now before you get those pictures!" I mean, if she wasn't just the sweetest thing, and took 100% pride in her work.
