This was a great place to stop for lunch on our way back home. The Tuna Carpaccio was amazing! Donna got the tomato soup and salad, i got The pimento cheeseburger which was very good but since the tuna Carpaccio and the tomato soap was so good i was wishing i tried one of the sandwiches that I was on the fence about. The place has a cool vibe and the service was spot on.

Stopped in Boll Weevil recently for dinner with a colleague. It was a Monday night at 6:30pm and we were able to be seated straight away. The vibes are casual and comfortable which pairs perfectly with the fare. There was live music while we were there (which was pitch perfect in volume as we were still able to speak comfortably). We sat and my dining companion mentioned they have a decent number of stouts on menu. I ordered a spiced stout, which was amazing. We also ordered their fried green tomatoes, which were great. It was my first experience with fried green tomatoes and they seemed to be an elevated version with a drizzle of balsamic and a horseradish sauce to accompany. Lovely! For my main, I got the grown up grilled cheese and a cup of their corn chowder. The grilled cheese was a tasty combination of pimento cheese and applewood smoked bacon on sourdough. It was divine. The corn chowder is hearty and flavorful. The service was friendly and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

As the saying goes, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." And if you've been in Augusta you know downtown is ever changing (for the better). New places to eat, shop, and even art to discover. But just off the beaten path, though directly across from the Augusta Convention Center, is a spot that has been baking cakes, frying green tomatoes, and making bowls of corn chowder for 35 years! Boll Weevil is diverse in its clientele because of its diversity in offerings. You need a meal? Or just dessert? Or an entire cake? Or maybe one of the biggest selections of porters and stouts in the area? Yep, you guessed it. All right here at Boll Weevil. And come through to hear live music, join in on Bingo night, or experience a open mic. I have been here solo, as a couple, and with the extended family. There's seating and great customer service whatever the party size. If you haven't been, or it's been awhile, stop nito Boll Weevil soon. Also, bring your appetite for the desserts. They are humongous!

Stopped by here for lunch stopping through town on a Saturday. We had a wonderful server, Leila, who was super sweet and told us which dishes she recommends. We're glad we listened to her because her suggestions were good. We had the Havana Chicken with a side of Cesar salad and my husband had the Southern Gent Sammich with a side of corn chowder. I liked the chicken and the corn chowder but felt the rice that came with the chicken was not good. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. Lastly we finished with a slice of key lime pie which we both really enjoyed. In summary, the chicken itself, corn chowder and key lime pie were my favorites from what we ordered. Docking a star because the rice was not good with the chicken and that was a significant part of the dish. Thank you Leila for your hospitality!

It's been almost a year since I visited... Definitely not the same. The bread was different and not nearly as good as it used to be. Sandwich was much smaller. But the service was good, thanks to Rhagen. Overall, it was a little disappointing.

Dive bar ambiance. Good service. Free Street parking or their own lot. Southern cooking with some healthy vegetarian options. I enjoyed the black bean burger with cucumber salad and asian slaw. They offer this burger 2 different ways, and with your choice of bun/bread/hoagie and choice of side. I enjoyed the house salad with vidalia dressing. Hummingbird cake was ok but not as good as i expected. The texture was more finely ground than expected; the texture of the cake reminded me of a cake mix. Frosting is delicious. Right near the riverfront park. I would dine here again.

Fun family atmosphere. Good food. Reasonable prices. Only complaint is that it's so popular, it's often crowded.

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

Good bbq dinner with a colleague tonight…read more One of the more popular dining options in the south is BBQ. This one we chose tonight is a small chain, but offers an excellent bbq dining option. It's not a sitdown restaurant. You place your order at the counter then go find a place to eat. They bring out the food to you. Once you sit down, you're served with a plate of warm biscuits. There's some sort of cheese or something inside them, but it wasn't a distracting ingredient, just different. You always like it when you get the opportunity to try multiple types of bbq meat. The option for tonight was bbq rib and pulled pork. Not only are the portions very good. (had to get a to go box) but both meats tasted super. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The ribs were large and plentiful. The ribs could've been a little more "fall off the bone", but we're good nonetheless. There's only one type of sauce to put on the ribs, but it was a good and not too tangy. With this meal option, you get two choices of sides. Being a big fan of coleslaw that was one side. The other side was corn on the cob. The coleslaw was sweet tasting. The corn on the cob had a bit of a hot bite to it. Both were fantastic. Thought to go with the sweet tea option, but since I had it earlier in the day, I chose otherwise.

My experience at this location was not good! Last night…read more(approx 7pm) I stopped in for a Brisket plate, sandwich, whatever- I just wanted some Brisket. Pulled up to drive thru and this is what I hear,"hello, just to inform you we are out of Ribs, Brisket, Turkey and Chicken." I'm in shock, so I did not say anything for a while. I'm looking at the menu, it's 7pm, I'm at a BBQ place with NO BBQ. The voice come back and says, "if you have any questions, let me know", "we have smoked wings, catfish, burgers that are great options". I'm still trying to get myself together, so I'm still quiet. Finally I ask for the Smoked Wings (btw: I dislike chicken on a bone) yes my fault for ordering. I order the habanero smoked wings (6) and Mac and cheese...$17! I did not inspect the bag before pulling off because I just knew this was not going to taste good- I KNEW IT. The lady who took my order just did not represent a place that serves GOOD food. When I received my bag, it was sticky ( paper bag sticky?) and had BBQ sauce fingerprints. My hands were nasty from just trying to go in bag (yuck). I get home. Wash my hands, pull out my food and there I have Smoked Honey Habanero Chicken Wing Soup. The presentation was Horrible! They did not care how they over sauced those large chicken pieces. Some of the wings were split (wingettes) and some had the two pieces attached. Mac and cheese was missing the cheese only had the Mac! I have not been to this place since they opened, it's because I'd heard the food was not good since the people left who opened the restaurant. What's sad is Jim'N Nicks use to have a good name in other cities I've visited. I'm not from Augusta, but I've been here a while. I wish employees would take more pride in their appearance and service. If this is your chosen profession treat it as such. It doesn't matter if you earn $8/hr or $80/hr. Managers should demand etiquette and staff should want to display etiquette. It starts with how YOU LOOK. How the workplace is kept. How the service is provided. How the Customer feels when they leave! I just want everyone to do better! Be better! BTW: I donated $17 to Jim 'N Nicks BBQ- I thought I could not get past the presentation to even taste the food! But I had my husband remove the meat from the bone, I placed meat in air fryer and the little meat I tasted-was not too bad. I did not try the Mac & Cheese. I wanted Brisket, so I should have left when I was informed they had no brisket! I need these restaurants to care about the locals... have an ALWAYS STEP UP mentality!

Starting with our drinks, we both had coffee-which I would return for the coffee alone! It was bold, curious, mysterious and honestly had me asking for the name of the coffee before I left! The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! "Let me get it all full and pretty now before you get those pictures!" I mean, if she wasn't just the sweetest thing, and took 100% pride in her work. Same with the gentleman working the omelet station. He came in the day before to prep the fish (which is a long day of work!) The love they put into each dish truly shines through effortlessly! With permission, personally, I would suggest they rename their Sunday Brunch to "Soul-filled Sunday Brunch" because #1 I left ready to go to sleep! #2 I had a religious experienced during that meal, in blessings and dining I have only ever had at Church Potlucks! #3 It elevated some fancy and some common foods to such heights, I was expect to be hearing gospel music while I ate! #4 Personally, I hope heaven's banquet table is much like today's-full of love, flavor and most importantly-community! Everyone from other diners enjoying their brunch to servers, sous chefs to the top man himself-not one person wasn't smiling from ear to ear. It's been near a decade since I've seen that many smiling people all in one place! While I will have to limit how often I come for Brunch lest my clothes start shrinking! Edgar's by far, takes the trophy for elevated dining experiences in Augusta, Ga! Best of all, a percentage of all their sales goes back directly into Helms College (located in the same shopping center.) Helms college offers hands-on education in culinary arts, health services, and industrial trades like HVAC/R. Keep up the amazing work, I eagerly look forward to dining with you again!
