Vampire Penguin offers beautiful, decorated frozen treats with half the calories as traditional ice cream. The duo works quickly to serve the guests. This company also gives the profits to the Aiken and Augusta trade schools!

This is not the shaved ice you got from the back of a truck or a van at the local gas station. You will not see a line of plastic containers, each filled with a liquid and marked with a flavor name. No, this is an experience that words can barely describe. The atmosphere immediately clue you in to that. Do they really love vampires? Or penguins? Or both? I can't tell you, but what I do know is you will find shaved ice like you've never had before. Whatever you order though, be sure to get it "stuffed". For that extra $1 you get frozen yogurt in the center. I went the Peaches n' Cream route for my first visit. And let me tell you, the plate was clean when I left. A perfect place for the warm months (which is most of the year around here) and for kids or kids-at-heart. Check it out for yourself!

Strawberry cheesecake but from a different angle

Reminds me of bingsu (Korean shaved ice dessert) but smaller portion for about the same price. Texture of the shaved ice is fluffy and light, like a snow, not like your typical Hawaiian shaved ice/sno-cones that have more solid ice particles. It's just that for the price, I feel like you're not getting a lot of value for it. If you're craving something with a similar texture to bingsu, then you're in for a treat. I haven't found another place that offers anything similar to this in Augusta. This place offers more American tastes than Korean tastes, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Came here, got a small strawberry cheesecake flavor, and split it with a friend. I liked the popping boba side topping. The presentation was very pretty. It was not too sweet and super refreshing. I like the Halloween/spooky type interior decor. It really suits my aesthetic. I'd probably come here again to try more flavors, but it won't be on my regular rotation of shops to go to. Maybe in another few months?

TLDR: Solid concept, great to see in the North Augusta area, but leaves a little to be desired The "snow" (not sure what they call it) was super soft and textured pretty similar to snow. Love this version of shaved ice in general, like bingsoo, if you've heard of that. It's not super flavorful here though, couldn't taste the chocolate and coffee that much in the Polar Affogato one that I got. The flavor mainly came from the chocolate drizzle on top and the brownie chunks. The ambience is fun- perpetual Halloween/vampire/penguin theme! The concept is great but the execution of the desserts leaves a little to be desired. They seem... not worth the price... if Im basically tasting store-bought chocolate sauce and storebought brownies... but I may go back and try other flavors because it's a fun concept and we don't see it much here in Augusta.

First, I love all of the themed decorations inside! This place is a whole experience. The employees are so friendly and helpful. I ordered the coffee toffee with chocolate syrup instead of caramel. So yummy!! And the texture is like somewhere between ice cream and shaved ice. It's so unique and pleasant.

If you are looking for a spot with a guilt-free sweet treat, look no further! We wandered in here one day not sure what to expect, and were greeted by ultra-friendly and helpful staff who clearly like their job. Our first visit here we got the strawberry daiquiri and polar affogatao, which are the best ones we have ever gotten. Then other 2 times we did not love the ice as much, but it was still a nice treat. For those wondering, the ice isn't ice cream, and it isn't pure ice. It's not too cold on your teeth like you would expect, and dissolves in your mouth. It has a lot of flavor- in between an ice cone and an ice cream. Definitely recommend checking it out!

I'm in love with this shaved ice. I keep getting the same thing It's a very light and delicious dessert. If you haven't tried it you're definitely missing out on a great treat.

I got their Neopolitan-styled shaved ice and split it with some friends. If you've had bingsu before, this is similar, but I would say it's not as soft and flavourful. But, they still tasted really good and it satisfies the shaved ice cravings. Recommend this place for a quick hangout with some dessert!

    Strawberry Cheesecake

It was hard to decide which flavor to get as a first timer but the server quickly suggested the Strawberry cheesecake...It did not disappoint. The only negative thing i could possibly complain about was that I've been coming to Augusta for years and this is the first time I've heard about this place. Im hooked for life!

This was a real fun place to go for a treat. Thought the price would be steep for a big group, but for a couple people it would be ok. They also have a Rewards program (so that's ALWAYS a plus for me). The unique setting was fun and I'd def go back, but I'd wait to build rewards before taking all the kiddos

Stopped by here the other day for some shaved ice. The inside of the store seemed almost halloween themed with all the vampires and black/orange color scheme. I ordered the coconut dream shaved ice expecting it to be like most snow cones ive had but the ice was way softer and lighter. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the texture and consistency is similar to korean shaved ice (bingsu). The main difference here is instead of asian flavors like green tea or sesame you are getting more ice cream parlor flavors such as chocolate, peanut butter, or banana split. I only wish the portion size was a bit bigger and a bit bigger quantity of toppings given the prices ($9 for a large, $7 for a regular). All in all a decent spot and will definitely return. A unique dessert spot in Augusta.

Dulce De Leche, Reese Cup and Butter Finger shave ice.

Perhaps the most interesting dessert experience around. This place does shaved sweetened ice with additional toppings. I picked the Dulce De Leche and enjoyed the snow like fluffy texture of the shaved ice with a generous about of carmel, flan and whipped toppings. It was very sweet and not heavy, which is a good pick when we visit the CSRA during the summer time. I can't say I am a fan of the whole vampire theme, but I am a fan of healthier alternatives to ice cream this was exactly the remedy. The 2 picky family members that came with me had no complaints. I highly recommend giving this place A try. It will not disappoint!

    Strawberry lemonade!!
    Jennifer L.

Employees were super nice! I love the decor! I've been a few times. This was my favorite! Strawberry lemonade!!!

Dolce de Leche Snow with Brownies on the Side. It was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back and try Mexican Candy.

Southern charm, incredible lunch, legendary desserts, and truly wonderful service…read more Boll Weevil is one of those places that feels like you stumbled into something special. From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry. Save room for cake.

Pros: Nice waiter…read more Quick service Inexpensive Right next to the Riverwalk. Cons: A/C set very low, we were freezing Spinach dip was okay but salty and had a vinegary taste. Turkey and rice soup was very salty, not warm enough. The bread on our sandwiches were not a good quality... and not fresh Sides with sandwiches were subpar.... Regular chips on one and tasteless pasta salad on the other.
