Wow how one vampire penguin can be so different than another one. The one in North Augusta closed so while in Evans I thought I'd try the one here. Big mistake!! The menus is different. So just ordered the chocolate. It came in two tone color like moca on the bottom but nope it had no flavor at all. I asked what was on the bottom they said a new container of chocolate. I love vampire penguin but not here. Dishes came out with no decorations just a dollop of whip cream. How boring. Never here again. read more

We came in with our kids and it was very tasty. Everyone was happy with their options and a mini is just enough. However, I asked if they had no -dairy options as they were unclear on the menu. I was told chocolate and all fruit. I ordered a strawberry and it had ice cream in the middle. We asked for extra napkins and had like 4 to share with 7 people. We swung by after school for a sweet treat for the kids (and me too). We've never been although we heard about their North Augusta location. It's in the strip of shops and is located a few doors down from Publix. There is plenty of parking and we had a minimal wait around 4pm. I was expecting coarse shaved iced like you'd get at other shaved iced places, but this was a big surprise. I'd best describe the ice as light, fluffy and airy. No hard crunch to it, and incredibly pleasant. My kids never eat shaved ice completely so we got one for them to share and that was a mistake. Halfway home, our oldest asks for more and when I turned around both had finished their halves and their gummy worms. They were both huge fans and gave two thumbs up. I enjoyed my ice as well, but my husband didn't love his. I liked the subtle coffee portion on my polar affrogato, and the brownies too. I think the combination really worked well together. My husband said his was a little strange. He wasn't a fan of the flavor. He didn't get a pumpkin flavor, he said it was more focused on nutmeg. 3/4 of us thoroughly enjoyed ours, and 2 of them were my kids, so I have to give this a 5 star. First time here and loved it! Ordered mini peanut butter cup, Twix, and chocolate lovers. We ordered mini sizes and they were more than enough. Cute decor and clean establishment. The only issue was there was one person working. It took about 10 to get our order and just about ever table was occupied and more people were coming in. It just might have been a busy time. Staff was very friendly and patient, since it was our first time there. We ordered the Butterfinger Delight, size regular, to split between me and my husband (and my 17 month old). It was definitely enough to share. Shaved ice itself wasn't that sweet, which was a nice balance since the caramel and butterfinger were sweet. There was a perfect amount of topping for each bite. There was plenty of seating, but it was a hot day (around 3:00pm) on a Saturday, so there were several other people in there as well. Most people didn't stay very long. read more

A friend suggested that we try Vampire Penguin out. I was a bit skeptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised! The place itself is clean and the decor goes with the name. I ordered a mini almond joy, but let me tell you they have a variety of options which made it hard to decide. There was five of us, and we all enjoyed our shaved ice cream. It is very light and airy, and doesn't seem like you are ingesting a lot of calories. LOL!! read more

This is definitely something worth trying if your in the area. I wish I knew about this place sooner. We went in to it not really knowing if we would like it. But we were blown away with how good it really was. It is literately shaved iced but flavored and decorated to be a wonderful fancy dessert that melts in your mouth. And it's amazing. The place is also small and cute. They have a large chair and a penguin on the wall to go with the vampire penguin theme. They also had vampire penguin coloring pages available when we stopped by that my kids enjoyed. read more

The treats were great, very tasty! This was the first time I've visited since I live in a different state. My family loves this place! If you are in town and need a sweet treat, this is the place!! My only feedback would be to have the people behind the counter(teenagers) be more customer service oriented. The pineapple on the pina cola snow was old and almost tasted fermented. We told the guys and the response was "ok". We just scraped it aside. Offering to remake the dish with fresh pineapple would have been the best IMO. If you have not tried this restaurant for tasty treat, you ARE missing out. I remember hot days in Georgia growing up, going to a corner store with my cousins, and getting an ice stuffed in a paper cone with syrup poured on it . Can I get a witness ??? The Vampire Penguin has a menu with a large variety of treats you can choose from. I had a mango situation and my daughter had a strawberry one. The thing is you can choose your own snow flavors and ask for the toppings you want orrrrr you can simply order one of their delicious options from the menu. We usually hit the North Augusta location but we tried this one & was NOT disappointed...absolutely the sweetest owners....Amy & her husband Marcus...I had about 5 to go to drive back home to Burke county & had a lunch bag with ice packs....she was so kind to make them freeze them til we were ready to go & then still gave me more ice to place ontop...made it home with intact delicious desserts....my new favorite is the Halo Halo...the taro ice....I also love the Mexican candy. Wish they opened one of these sooner. My daughter still asks about this place after moving. My wife still occasionally mentions how great their dole whip was. Really hoping they open one near us. The staff was always pleasant, some more than others. The seating was spaced out and the sitting areas were always clean. They offered coloring pages for kids while the snow was being made, which my daughter loved. We liked the variety they offered but also the fact that you could create your own. The sizes were plentiful and the snow was incredible. The flavors we tried were all great, and there wasn't one we didn't like. Cotton candy got rave reviews from the kids, dole whip was my wife's favorite and I enjoyed just a plain coffee ice. The texture is what kept us coming back. A fun twist on ice cream and snocones. My kid prefers Vampire Penguin over both. The service is pleasant and quick. This location isn't usually super busy so you're in and out as fast as you want to be. My favorite is the Mexican candy flavor but we're all slowly working our way through the menu. I recommend if you don't want the heavy feeling of ice cream but still the delicious creaminess of it. read more

Such a great alternative to ice cream! It's lighter and so good! The presentation is fantastic, very fun!I prefer these shaved snow desserts over ice cream now!
