One of my favorite ice cream stores in August, seriously top 3! Their choices of flavor are always robust and amazing flavors. I've always got their strawberry and it's really good. I think it's heavy in cream as it also does melt quite easily, but it's soft, rich in flavor and doesn't seem overly sweet or artificial in flavoring. They have a variety of cones to choose from on top of their waffle cone bowl, which is what I always get mine on. There is few seating areas indoors but I've seen most customers order and to go, including myself. This place catered for a campus event that we had, and gave ice cream to all the students- really sweet staff and great ice cream! I had the raspberry cheesecake, which I added topping to as I wanted, and it was very good. I wanted to like this place! Today's visit was courtesy of my daughter. We arrived a little after 7pm. First, when we walked in, it felt very cold. Cold as in vibes. The young lady was the only worker and she didn't not greet us. Just looked at us. I proceed to speak and she never spoke back. Fast forward to the transaction, she just stood there looking at me. I had to ask her how much! Then, she had to type my card number in . No, thank you, nothing. Customer service is everything! They did not have anymore cones. The ice cream selections were slim and a lot of mixing of flavors (droplets of flavors on the others). Due to the cold vibe and the lack of service, I personally did not order anything but my daughter and nephew did. My daughter ordered, peach and strawberry ice cream, and my nephew got cookies & cream. Sad to say, they both threw them away when we left. I drove to the grocery store in the same shopping complex and threw them away in the outside trash can. My daughter said it tasted like straight milk, no flavor. What a great local ice cream shop! It's a little out of the way, in a shopping center next to Wing Stop. We initially didn't see it because they don't have a sign on the building. The decor was adorable! The floor was painted with cow spots!! Precious. They had little milk buckets with flowers sitting on the tables too. They didn't have a lot of flavors, 10 to be exact. So be willing to try something that may not be what you normally get. You can taste them before you choose. I loved the waffle cone bowls. They had both chocolate and regular waffle cones and bowls. I'm a chocolate lover, so I went for the chocolate waffle bowl. I tried cake batter & cotton candy ice cream. They were both a vibrant blue, which caught my eye. The cotton candy tasted exactly like cotton candy. The cake batter tasted similar but had sprinkles in it. read more

Honestly I thought this place had closed a long time ago, but it turns out they were still open. Oh my gosh their ice cream is still just as awesome as it was when I first came here. They had so many flavors but I had my eye on the Pecan Apple Pie ice cream and after trying my first spoonful of ice cream, it was so good!! I can't wait to try more flavors in the future. Every week they have their main flavors, chocolate, strawberry, cotton candy, etc. but then they switch out the other 6 flavors weekly. I had Spring Berry Pie, and it was amazing! If you're at the Deli or Wing Stop (next door), your night won't be perfect unless you stop for a scoop! Note that this place does not have a storefront sign that you can see from the road. Timely Note: My visit was a few weeks ago and they have not posted any updated information concerning operational hours and/or pickup options. When you're good, you don't have to offer a little of everything. You just offer what you specialize in. Of such is SS. They offer ten flavors of handmade ice cream and a waffle cone/bowl. Now they do have craft sodas and milkshakes, but you come here for the ice cream. Of course samples are always an option (and I recommend you take advantage of that). My first visit found me ordering two scoops of banana pudding. My great grandmother would be jealous! Delicious doesn't even begin to describe it. Two days later I returned for the double chocolate. I should challenge myself to try all ten flavors (though a couple rotate) in ten days. The location is in an interesting location, as it is part of a shopping center so parking is not an issue. The space is compact, maybe 10-15 people can be seated inside?) but there is seating outside as well. "Worst case scenario", you can order an entire pint and take it home. The team here always has a smile on their face and are patient as I take forever to decide which to order. Cones down, this is one of the best spots for ice cream in the area. read more

I don't visit that corner of Daniel Village a lot. I decided to stop at Village Deli and saw this place. I was in the mood for ice cream so I popped in to look at the selections. I decided on what I wanted and picked up my VD order from next door. I popped back in and all of sudden I became undecided. The flavors are all appetizing and it's difficult to decide. I was able to taste a few and decided on a cookies and cream pint. At the end of a very long day to include laundry and homework I remembered my ice cream was in the fridge. I grabbed it and sat down in front of my laptop to do more homework. I thought it was a very flavorful ice cream. Not too sweet but balanced and creamy. First time and last time visit. The young lady working there, "Naeemah" was charming, sweet and courteous. The store is well-maintained and in a busy little corner of food businesses. The ice cream, unfortunately was NOT good. It was reminiscent of the chalky cardboard chemically flavored cheap ice cream I got in elementary school. I've never had a bad cone from here. Tonight I came with a friend and we sampled a few flavors. I decided to go with PB&J and strawberry and it was delicious. I did sample the Irish coffee and that was delicious, as well. One of these days, I will try their shakes but their ice cream is so good it's hard not to go right for that. I also noticed some random pints like salted caramel and thin mint in the freezer and were very tempting. I didn't walk away with one tonight, but I might do just that in the near future. This place is totes adorbs! They don't have a huge sign so it's a hidden treasure. The ice cream flavors change daily. The decor is super cute. The floor is painted with cow spots. They have flower pot center pieces on the tables. The tables look like iron patio tables. The ice cream is delish. Be prepared - the scoops are HUGEEE! I ordered a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of double chocolate chunk in a waffle cone. It was so much! I struggled to finish it. They also have waffle bowls and chocolate waffle cone. Such a cute ice cream spot. Seems like it was necessary in this area of town. They haven't gotten large signage yet, but they're right next to the Village Deli. I met here with a group of friends and we all had a least a scoop of ice cream. The staff said they change flavors daily and they had 10 flavors on hand and some other Italian Ice flavors in the freezer. The additional ice cream is put in a freezer that sits in the dining area. So, you can look to see if you'd like to purchase a pint in the flavor you like. They offer the space for parties on Sundays, which seems cool. The space has a cow theme throughout. Several great cow paintings and a cow pattern floor. There's outdoor seating as well as indoor seats with tables and stools for the bar. read more

This place was great! Awesome ice cream, lots of good flavors. I had the double chocolate chunk. The ice cream is very smooth and creamy, a lot better than anything you'll get at the grocery store! They also have "sammiches", shakes, Italian ice, and more. It's a small little location located right next to the village deli and wing stop in the shopping plaza it's at. It was kind of hard to find for me, I drove right past it at first haha. They were kind enough here to have a Yelp elite event and were very welcoming and polite. I must say the peach coconut ice cream was really good. The large scoop is great for the money with a piece of waffle cone in the scoop. From what ive heard they rotate the flavors daily which is great but will I be able to get the peach coconut if its not in the front display ? The deco is cool and hives you something to talk about while eating along with a kids area with a big blackboard for them or adult to draw on. Now lets get to why I only gave them 3 stars... The furniture is light weight and needs to be hardwood or metal because as time goes on it will break meaning the chairs which one did last might. The other is ....PEST CONTROL!!!! We were sitting there and spotted more than one German roach running on the floor! My wife and I tried this place after lunch at the Village Deli. It is right next door and has a picture of a Holstein Milk Cow on the door. My wife said it was a cute and charming place like some other yelpers have commented. I like the outdoor seating they have. You can watch planes take off and land at Daniel Field while you eat your Ice Cream. I had the strawberry and my wife had the Georgia peach. Both were OK and we had two scoops each. The total came out to be around 10 bucks. The odd thing is that they mention tips for scooping ice cream while you are paying at the register. I do not know how demanding it is to scoop ice cream versus busting and waiting tables in a busy restaurant. I was taken aback by that since that was the first time they asked me if you wanted to pay tips while paying. I have seen tip jars at ice cream parlors but not this. It was kind of awkward. Extremely disappointed in how this place is managed. They advertise on instagram that they do birthday parties and not only did I go in person to speak with someone about it, I called, and I left them a message on Instagram. When I came in person the young girl informed me that she was unsure how to go about booking a birthday party so she got my info and told me a manager would call me that afternoon. I was never called. Next, I sent a message on Instagram that was never replied to. Finally, I called one day and the guy who answered told me to call the village deli next door to speak with the owner (I guess they own both). I called the village deli and asked for the owner by name since the previous guy told me who to ask for and the girl who answered snapped back at me "What is this regarding?" so I told her I wanted to book a bday party next door then she tells me they are too busy at the moment for her to take my call so again, she got my info but I never received a call back. I was really excited at the idea of having my daughters birthday party here but I'm just truly disappointed with the management and or ownership of this place. They do have good ice cream which is why I gave the 2 stars but sadly I wont be returning for the simple fact that Im unhappy with this place in general. read more

This new ice cream shop offers a child-friendly atmosphere, good service and good quality product to a dour strip mall location. Open for roughly a month, Summerville Scoops was a fun end to a trip around Augusta. Walking into the location offers that distinct, sugary smell that sets apart ice cream stores that make their own product in-house. The store had a smart lay out - with the door leading right in to a long counter with the ice cream display and seating just right of the door. The decor is distinctly cow-themed, with splotches of white and black on the floor, and pinks, browns and blues flooding the walls - giving off a general sense of fun. The service was good, with a friendly attendant open to questions and conversation as she scooped our ice cream. The selection was small, with only ten flavors being available daily. The flavors change daily, but their Facebook offers up to date information each day on what's available. This was a bit of a downside - the case was small, and while the product looked good, I do like a greater variety. However, I'm sure they'll likely expand with time. The ice cream itself was quite good - very rich and soft with a velvety mouth feel you only get with real, good ice cream. You can get your ice cream in a variety of ways - in a bowl, in house-made waffle bowls or cones, in a milkshake, or in a Swirl (essentially similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen - but a bit less thick). Overall, I'd say everyone should go out and try this place. With some community support, I'm sure they'll have an opportunity to expand! read more
