Took my parents here for dessert while they were visiting from NJ. We heard they make fresh ice cream and it's a chain we've never heard of, decided to give it a shot. We didn't think the menu selection for flavors was diverse compared to other ice cream shops we've been to. The portion sizing is decent. My parents don't eat a lot, so their small cup portion was perfect, but it was pretty expensive for a small. They went with the generic chocolate. It was rich in flavor and pretty sweet; wasn't too bad though. They have other add on options such as sugar cones or waffle cones. They do carry milkshakes and sundae options as well. First time here - staff was sweet. I am not a huge ice cream eater but wanted to try their vegan ice cream. Unfortunately they only had one flavor (cookies n cream) which didn't excite me so I decided to take the plunge with a hot fudge brownie sundae. Fudge was nice and warm, brownie not bad, lots of whip cream and not a lot of ice cream. Ice cream was good. My friend had the cherry vanilla ice cream cone which he really enjoyed. Brought my kids to get some ice cream after a long day at work. The weather was hot so ice cream to cool us down was an easy choice. We were running a few errands in the area so we stopped here. Sampled and loved the wedding cake flavor. We usually frequent the Evans location Bruster's and I've never seen that flavor offered. I'm usually a cotton candy explosion girl, but I took up this opportunity in the form of a small waffle cone. Highly recommend Wedding Cake!!! My kiddos both got their free baby cones. Baby cones come with sprinkles and googly eyes. My kids don't like them so we don't add them, however they are cute and fun. To get a baby cone, they check their height or sometimes ask their age, sounds like it's 4 and under. The employee helping me was wonderful, although I was struggling with the kids and missed out on his name. My little one dropped his baby cone, and since we didn't pay, I wasn't going to ask for another. He offered a replacement no problem, which I reallllly appreciate. He was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I'll try to get his name next time we visit. I had a much better experience at this location versus the Evans one, and so we might make this Bruster's our new spot come this summer. read more

First, let me say that I'm a fan. Bruster's was one of the first places we found when we moved here. The ice cream is made daily and comes in a wonderful variety of flavors, colors, and combinations. It's not always perfect though. I've been served ice cream with ice crystals, cold apple dumplings and burned hot dogs. *shrugs* It's maybe the price of admission for loving ice cream. Just wanted to give a shout out to Bruster's for having my favorite ice cream! They manage to make their ice cream creamy but not over sticky, and sweet but not overly sweet. If you are looking for a place with lots of traditional ice cream flavors, this is a good place. They have about 20-25 flavors daily and include traditional staples (strawberry, mint chip, etc.) as well as a few interesting less-available flavors (wedding cake with raspberry swirl, cotton candy). The portions are generous and comparable with price. Kids under 3 get a free cone, which is GREAT for parents or sitters that want a treat on a budget. The only real drawbacks are that there are SO many new and great ice cream places in Augusta, including a new rolled ice cream place and tons of frozen yogurt places. Many of these places have tons of new and interesting flavors (like blueberry basil) or unusual toppings at the same price point. Also, this Bruster's is located literally next door to the best frozen yogurt place in town which comes with ample seating and a nice atmosphere, whereas Bruster's has zero seating (unless you count the bricks around the flower beds) and is located on an island between two busy parking lots (scary if you have small kids running about while trying to order). There's no drive through so you basically have to get out of your car to get basic ice cream and then just, well, stand there to eat it and leave. It is nice that they offer quarts for sale to go. It's a good place to grab a quick ice cream and go, but not really a place to "hang out." On the flip side, they do have some awesome events that draw a crowd and are fun to go to (like free scoop for wearing pajamas), but you are still just standing on an island between traffic on both sides with kids running around in between, which is anxiety-inducing. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. As soon as we got there the owner gave us attitude and made us feel very uncomfortable. He was a short black male. He did not greet us instead he simply said "you see the sign" in a harsh tone. Then as we are in line to get something he goes up to 2 children who looked no older than 12 and told them to leave because one accidentally dropped an empty cup on the ground. He walked up to them and said "y'all gotta leave. Don't be dropping stuff on my property leave." Then when we tried to help the children and just tell them to stay with us because they had no adult with them, he immediately gave us sass. He kept saying that he is the owner and that we have no say so. Shortly after he called the police on us for no reason. Im not sure if he felt threatned or not but he called the police and we were doing nothing but standing in the line. I do not recommend this place at all and it was a terrible experience. read more

This place definitely has some good ice cream but the value isn't there for me. My Girlfriend had two scoops of icecream, turtle and chocolate raspberry truffle and i had a large reese blast. Both good. They have plenty of toppings to choose from and they are generous with the toppings. Here is the issue I have. The pictures show a full cup of the blast but that is not what I got. I got a cup over an inch under what I would consider the full line. I asked why isn't it like the picture and I was told that is what you get. For $9.50 for everything I expect a full cup and the scoops to be a normal size. The two scoops were the size of one scoop from other places I have been in the area. I've been to Bruster's a few times since I moved to Augusta and every time that I've gone there have been different flavors. Equal parts exciting and difficult because you are forced to try new things and also stand, dancing, around the sign trying to decide on the next flavor you want to try. Each time I've gone the staff have been so wonderful, helpful and patient. I mean it, they are so patient, each time we go we spend so much time asking for samples and about the ingredients. Also... I don't understand all these bad reviews? My honey and I received great customer service and the icecream was delicious. I ordered a two scoop Oreo cheesecake while he decided upon a butterfinger blast. I gave it four stars due to my icecream lacking the cheesecake. My sweet tooth is pretty bad. If it was up to me, I would've ordered everything, and put my sweat pants on and start eating under the bed covers. Will power is hard and that menu at the drive through is pretty extensive. Yummy!! I love taking a PM break for some Bruster's! I grab my pooch and head over for a doggie sundae, and whatever fabulous flavor of the day/week they are offering for us humans too! Today I had the chocolate mudslide and salted caramel. SO GOOD. Both were new flavors for me. I had good, friendly service and was in and out quickly. I like getting punches on my frequent scoop AND pint cards. I think the to go pint option is great. Most locations offer lower pint prices in the winter. Usually 2 for $6 or $7. They have different feature flavors each month, seasonal. It's good. Try it! read more

The customer service at the counter is adequate and friendly. The icecream is good, yet a little heavy for my liking. I generally prefer a fluffier texture. A good selection of flavors is available. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to be interogated or pestered by their old security guard. Upon parking my car the security guard was immediately at my door and asking where I plan on doing business. I witnessed the security guard harping at children for standing on the benches or the brick ledge around the bushes. I've been here a few times and so far I like it. They have a menu item called a blast, which is the equivalent of Dairy Queen's blizzard. If you order cookie dough in your blast, rest assured you'll have mounds of cookie dough in every bite. I love that! The only thing I wasn't impressed with is sometimes some of the girls there just are not very friendly. Also, when my husband and I got ice cream here recently, the girl tried to serve my ice cream with tons of ice cream dripping all down the side of the cup. I asked her if she could wipe that off before handing it to me and she politely did so. My husband's cone was made very sloppy as well and he said that it was difficult not to make a mess with the way it was made.
