Chocolate chip muffin (warmed up and melty!)
    Bailey B.

I made a quick stop in here for a coffee and some breakfast to take on the road after an overnight stay in Augusta. I'm glad I did. This place is SUPER adorable both inside and outside. They have a drive through and a relatively spacious parking lot -- both nice. I wanted to go inside so I could see what pastries they had available for me to snack on, so I pulled into a spot and made my way in. It's beautiful, clean, and very Instagrammable on the inside. So cute! They have a good variety of breakfast goodies (muffins, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, etc), some dessert type treats, a range of coffee beverages, and also a focus on frozen custard. I was sad it was a little too early in the day to treat myself to that -- I love frozen custard, lol. It took a few moments for a staff member to come take my order, but they were fairly busy and everyone I saw interacting with customers was very pleasant and genuinely seemed happy to be there. I asked the barista what her favorite speciality coffee drink was, and she recommended the caramanilla (caramel + vanilla latte). I ordered that iced and a chocolate chip muffin. I took one last longing look upstairs -- they have a rooftop seating area! How cool is that! I wish I'd had time to hang out more. But I had to be on my way. The muffin was quite large and good, packed full of chocolate chips and heated up without me even having to ask. Yay! :) The coffee was decent, actually probably pretty good, but not totally my thing. I wish they had a slightly larger specialty drink menu, or at least a specialty that features chocolate/mocha, as that's my favorite. I imagine I probably could've asked them to make me something unique, but I didn't wanna be high maintenance. All in all, absolutely precious and fun cafe with lots of variety, friendly staff, and tasty product. I'd be happy to visit again if I ever find myself back in Augusta.

Came here to get some coffee and study and loved the ambiance! There is a lot of great seating and everyone is friendly. I especially loved that there were many outlets by the seats so you could plug in your computer/phone if needed. I will say that the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, so don't use this place to take a test or do anything where you might need a strong connection. I got both coffee and custard, and I really love them both. I found at the portions were really nice, and even though I only got a kid size of the custard, I thought that it was a really good amount. All of the flavors were great, and I will definitely come back!

The cinnamon roll is just delicious oh yeah and my coffee took a backseat well side seat. This place is a sleeper for the locals

The cinnamon roll was amazing . And the service was outstanding for 8:15 am . My coffee was great I had the cookie and butter sweeter and a shot of espresso

Great ambience and their options were interesting. They have a wide range of flavors (I had the sea salt caramel latte) with a pastry. Pretty spacious cafe for both productive work or a hangout with friends. Their service was fast with not much of a delay with our order. Worth a visit if you're a coffee lover. Pro tip: check out their menu before had. They add a twist to common fan favorites.

Wow. Heard about this place from one of my friends (thanks Shannon, her review was the first one), and I decided it was worth trying, at least for the ambiance. I'm blown away, since this cafe is on par with the cafes I've been to in the metro Atlanta area. In fact, I think this is probably The Best Place To Study In Augusta™ in my humble opinion. Seating galore! Outlets as far as the eye can see! And a second-story outside seating area with great vibes! I'm literally writing this review as I sit in this cafe right now. The cafe food and drinks are delicious and well-priced too. Got the Belgian Waffle with Candy Bar Explosion flavored frozen custard and brownie bites on top. The frozen custard was great, it had Butterfinger, Heath Bar, and one other candy bar that I can't remember mixed into the custard. Gave ample texture to the dessert. The waffle was also fluffy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. Great pairing, and well-priced! I also got the Carmanilla coffee drink, which was a strong coffee that was on the sweet side (to be expected... it's caramel flavored). I think that was a bit overpriced, but it's not much different from how much you would pay at a Starbucks for essentially the same thing. Only difference is you're supporting a small business by buying from here, and I think that's worth it. Their hours are also splendid, closing at 9pm is solid for a cafe of this nature in Augusta. Great vibes for hanging out with friends or for catching up on work. Catch me here again soon trying another dessert and coffee.

I almost passed it by, cute and convenient location on Washington Rd, across from the skating ring.

Saw this place and they have some of the best hours for a cafe that I've seen in Augusta. I got their chai tea latte and almond croissant. Both tasted amazing! I did feel like the chai tea latte wasn't super strong, but I do like my tea flavours very strong. I loved the croissant. It was so light and fluffy and there was a little bit of like a jammy filling to make the whole croissant come together. This location does have two stories and outdoor seating. There are no outlets in the outdoor seating area unfortunately. But there's plenty of outlets I doors, almost 1-2 per seats that are along the walls. And the outlets are both the 3 pronged and USB-A chargers! I didn't get any, but they also serve frozen custard, so I hope to try that on another occasion. Overall, will probably be coming back here to study when I need a chance of scenery!

Another fabulous find thanks to Yelp.... never leave home without it! Our sweet tooth was hankering for a little something so we found this new spot and ventured out. First off, as soon as you walk in it is spacious and fresh. It is newly constructed so it should be fresh- however things are organized in a satisfying way. The clean presentation of the pastries and desserts cases was inviting as well. I get overwhelmed easily when there is too much going on and a menu is too congested. Thankfully this one was refreshing. Several ladies were behind the counter ready to assist. We opted for smaller desserts: hubby chose a mini key lime cheesecake and I ordered a profiterole cup. They were small but mighty on flavor. I needed a chocolate fix and the profiterole did not disappoint. Both were delicious and very rich. It made me happy to enjoy something I didn't feel guilty about indulging in because it was fun size. Next time we will go earlier in the day so I can try the coffee. The cold cases also have custard you can take home so filed that away for future cravings too. Lots of different options here to please all members of your family! They even have a drive-thru. The only warning is dress warm or bundle up if you eat in because the AC was really kicking! A neat thing is they have an upstairs outdoor patio area. Maybe that could be reserved for a party? Need to ask next time I'm come by. Check this cool spot out!

My friends and I came here just to hangout for an hour or so. Good coffee, well priced! There aren't too many options for food but for what they have it's pretty good. There's also tons of frozen custard flavors to choose from!

Apple caramel custard and a banana split
    Tanzy M.

The vibe was definitely everything but the custard was even better the apples were soft as if they belonged in an apple pie, my mom got the banana split and she loved it. We definitely will be back, and I almost can't wait to dig into some apple caramel custard again.

Despite the fact that the owner was the only person working the counter and drive through, service never faltered. Kudos for management knowing how it's done and doing it

Dairy free frozen custard with ice crystal

I had high hopes for cafe dulce, and while the ambiance was 5/5 my experience with the coffee, frozen custard, and staff was more of a 1/5. Ambiance - this place is great, the downstairs has more of a bustling ice cream parlor feel while upstairs you have your choice of classic coffee shop with lounge and table seating or a bright modern balcony space. I went for the covered outdoor seating and the style and greenery made it felt like a tropical vacation despite the fact that the view was rush hour on Washington road. Plenty of outlets for work or study, comfortable chairs, fast internet. Service - the woman at the register who took my order was clueless when it came to coffee, tea, and frozen custard and could not answer even the most basic question. She was also very high, like first experience with edibles high and contemplating 'how did I arrive at this Cafe Dulce where these people ask me for beverages'. I get it if you're ramping up you might not be able to answer all customer questions, and in an hourly position you might not be motivated to the highest level of service. Thankfully the place was overstaffed and other employees were able to jump in and help me a few times. Placing a simple order took ~10 minutes. The owner came in the middle of that process but didn't seem to notice what was going on. Food- the dairy free oat based frozen custard ended up being freezer burned, ice crystal covered scoops of what I assume was an experimental recipe based on the whit's website. It couldn't be re-portioned as a kids scoop, cone, or a sundae, so I had to buy the big size with no toppings. It had the texture of super market Italian ice and even after letting it sit out for 5 minutes my daughter broke a spoon trying to eat it. She ate it slowly and at no point in the melting process was there a creamy or ice cream like texture. It was made of water, sugar, and coconut yogurt - it tasted like extra sweet watered down coconut yogurt frozen into icecubes. My kid likes coconut yogurt and Italian ice so it was fine, but for me who was expecting a creamy freshly made vegan custard very disappointing. If it had been served fresh from a soft serve machine I think it would have worked. I ordered an oatmilk cafe au lait which is usually half brewed coffee and half steamed milk. Despite a full $1 upcharge for the oatmilk I received a cup of extremely acidic coffee with half a splash of oatmilk that barely lightened the coffee. And, fellow oatmilk connoisseurs, this isnt Oatly barista blend, this is the cheap Costco brand watered down oatmilk. Normally I don't complain about oatmilk brand, I'm just glad it's available. But at the highest alt-milk upcharge in town getting the world's stingiest little splash of the worst quality oatmilk on the market is unacceptable. The coffee was so bad that I just gave up after a few sips and didn't ask for a remake.

Bodega isn't going anywhere, I am. And as I begin the moving process I have created a mental list of places I will miss in the Augusta area. And trust me, I know all the places. Fancy, hole-in-the-wall, no online presence, hyper online presence. I know all about them. And Bodega has consistently been a go-to spot for me over the years. Typically it is a Sunday morning/early afternoon, with a cup of coffee, and about half the time a soft shelled crab sandwich. Every other time, I throw caution to the wind. Could be a biscuit. Could be a pulled pork sandwich or The Lox. Who knows. But here's what I do know. The service, ambiance, and quality of what I order is always always at a level of excellence. And where else can you interact with the furry team member (Ash) as part of the experience? Such a relaxing spot, with the ceiling fans cooling you off (and the table fans keeping flies at bay) and the fountain trickling in the background. Please, if you are in the area be sure to go by and make up for my absence!
