We finally got a chance to go to dinner as a couple. With two kids, sometimes this is impossible. So when we finally got the opportunity, we decided to try the Annapolitan. We sat outside and were pleased with the location. The location surely had its charms. Relaxing, calming. Perfect environment for some much needed respite. The restaurant is situated on a quaint quiet street, across from some beautiful Charlestown style homes. We both chose Ribeye steaks and boy was I surprised. They were huge! We BOTH got our steaks grilled perfect! I was extremely impressed. I jokingly told the waitress they mush have a boxer working in the back, tenderizing the meat because the steaks were so tender I rarely used the knife. The steaks was incredible, just the right amount of searing, juicy, seasoned just right, and so flavorful. And get this, we received our steaks at the same time, right off the grill so our dishes were both hot. It had been such a long time since I had enjoyed a meal this much. My reservation of going again has absolutely nothing to do with this restaurant. Cost of living is getting high and the cost of a great dinner like at the Annapolitan will cost you. But if you want something special, it is worth it. read more

Went there today 15 March for my birthday and was truly disappointed The wait for the food was entirely too long, especially when there was only 4 other tables occupied. We arrived 10+ minutes before party of 5 and ordered our food before them and our food arrived at the same time as theirs along with the party of 3 that was there when we arrived. Needless to say my French toast was cold, I sent it back, they wanted to give me an order of French toast that clearly belonged to someone else, because it had caramel and apples and I ordered mine with strawberries. I said no thank you, I was good and didn't want any at all. Midway through my meal the guy brings out the French toast with strawberries, but the kicker is it wasn't freshly made but put in the microwave, because it was soggy. The strawberry compote tasted like it came out of a jar, and the French toast had one strawberry sliced in half on it. I gave 2 stars because the grits were decent and the crab cakes were okay, (to much mustard), they didn't have that Maryland style taste of Old Bay seasoning (I grew up in the area and frequent Lexington Market and restaurants, when I visit there, so I know the taste of good crab cakes). Had dinner on 7/30/26. Ordered the Chicken Breast,mashed potatoes and Asparagus. The Chicken was so salty that it created bumps on my tongue. I sent it back and an entirely new plate was prepared. They also offered me a Dessert on the house. The Kitchen crew also agreeded that it was Salty. Even my wife's Risotta with Shrimp and Scallops was a bit salty not as bad as my plate of Chicken. Beware of what you order and ask to not add salt to the meal you order. The server was very understanding and did what was needed to be done to correct the situation. Not sure if I will ever go there again. I was so terribly disappointed. I had the new plate boxed and took it home. Have not tried it yet. Kitchen staff should be tasting what they prepare. This has honestly been the only restaurant in the Augusta area that has impressed me enough to write a positive review, it's on par with some of the better dining experiences I've had on the East Coast, both in terms of quality of the food as well as the refined casual ambience. It really does remind me of some of my favorite places around Annapolis, and it will absolutely be someplace we will be going to again before long, Highly recommend the Maryland blue crab dip (home made chips) and bourbon scallops. The risotto with scallops was worth commenting to the owner, who I learned is also from the Annapolis area and has only recently launched this restaurant as a passion project. I both wish him well and will see him again, because that was a uniquely enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who's been a bit disappointed with what the Augusta area has on offer. read more

I think the best word to express our experience with the cuisine is: underwhelmed. We tried various things and nothing had us rolling up our sleeves and fighting over the next bite. There was nothing so mouth-wateringly delicious that we scarfed it down until our bellies hurt. Ideally, I'd like the food to be so good I have to fight the urge to lick my plate. We went as a large group with reservations to celebrate 2 birthdays. Our table was decorated with some happy birthday signs in addition to the reserved sign. I will say we went late at 730 on a Wednesday so it wasn't super busy. We ordered the crab cakes to share.....they were pretty big. For my entree I got the branzino with black rice and asparagus. 2 of my friends got the salmon and really enjoyed it. I did like that all the dishes did have some veggies with it. Someone in our group got the Mac and cheese and it looked to die for. Will definitely be trying it next time. At the end of dinner they brought out cheesecake for the birthday girls. We had reservations for 2:00pm we had to wait when we walked in which is fine she asked if I didn't mind being outside which was fine.... until a family the same size as us walked in sat right away with a table inside. They finally sat us to the outside table which had a silverware roll left over from the last people, like we were going to use that! With no menus. We sat there for another 25 mins no one talked to us. After my husband talked to the manager about the wait and bad customer service... they brought us water in plastic cups. Then we had to ask for menus! after 47 mins the waiter came right after we got the menus... so we asked her to come back.. it got to 50 minutes with no bread and only water! Atmosphere is really lovely. My husband and I came in on 2/15 and learned they were only serving a 'special Valentines menu'. It consisted of 3 apps, 1 soup, 1 salad and 4 entrees, all of which were....lets say basic? My first choice was the fish-I was informed that they ran out of the pistachio & Parmesan crust, which in truth was the only reason I was ordering it. They just started serving lunch at Bistro 55, we came on a warm breezy Friday at 11 am. Service was polite and quick even though there was a steady number of people coming in. The prime rib French dip. the thinly sliced meat was seasoned well, the meat was soft, and then dipped in the au jus was delicious. The croque monsier was simplistic perfection. Ham, bechamel, melted gruyrere cheese between 2 pieces of bread topped with a yolky egg. So good! We've also been there for dinners a few times before. My favorite is the filet mignon. I made an early Valentine's Day reservation for tonight at 7:30pm. My wife and I arrived at 7:25pm and were sat by the host right away. The restaurant was pretty empty. Twenty minutes go by and no one bothers to come even offer to fill our water glasses. Servers and what seems to be owner do walk past several times but no acknowledgement. We ended up walking out. Now we are at Craft & Vine where the food is excellent and the service is amazing. read more

My mother in law had booked the table, she got a text asking to confirm that we were still coming for lunch. She confirms but when we get to the restaurant they have no knowledge of the booking at all. Luckily she had not deleted the text from the automated booking service and they seated us. Wife asked to start with coffee, it comes out and its cold, told waiter and he immediately corrects that. Side note another table came in while we were eating and the lady on that table had coffee and she sent it back because it was cold !!!! Wife's food should have had a green salad with it, it did not come out with it and had to ask the waiter for it. Drain in men's toilet had a lot of water coming up from it. Celebrated my husbands birthday over the weekend. They decorated our table with birthday confetti (very nice touch). The dinner was amazing from the roasted chicken, steak, pork loin to the fish. The bri app and garlic shrimp were sooo good left me wanting more! They even provided a dessert of choice to my husband and sang Happy Birthday! The entire staff is very welcoming and attentive. This is the type of service I am accustomed to up North, and many times lacking in this area. The food takes a bit longer than most restaurants; but, you can't rush fresh delicious food! We had a beautiful and delicious holiday Sunday brunch. Restaurant was light, festive, tastefully decorated. Bottomless mimosas delicious and a good price $11. I had a simple but excellent french omelette of gruyère with pungent fresh thyme. My friend loved her french toast with apricot preserves. We both liked that the serving sizes were lunch-appropriate, not an "avalanche of food" that would make us uncomfortable the rest of the day. Everyone from hostess to waitress to busboy was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Street parking very easy. Neighborhood is so pretty for an after lunch stroll. Chairs still up on the table, doors locked, lights off. If they were closed for the holidays, or whatever reason, they should be managing their RESY account better. The food you ask? Well being a French restaurant that is what you can expect, good food made from the heart. I being vegetarian I had the Salmon that usually is made is mash potatoes but insteadd has fries and vegetables and salad nicoise made of green spinach tuna olives and eggs. Of course no eggs added for me. Don't get me wrong it is not a vegan restaurant it is French fine dining restaurant that offers more than just fish and is also open for brunch. One of the worst restaurant experiences, felt like we were scammed. We showed up for a reservation on time and were asked to wait for 15minutes despite there being open tables (red flag but not a big deal). Then, I had to go back to the waitstand and when I asked again, they just cleaned a table that was open from when we first arrived. After sitting down, it took another 10-15minutes even for the menus to come. After ordering our food, it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. If our reservation was at 1pm, it is now 2:30pm before we even get to eat. They brought out 3 slices of stale french bread in a basket with a stained napkin while we waited because the "kitchen is backed up". When our entrees did come, it was pitiful and seemed like the kitchen just ran out of food. Croque monsieur is a sandwich (and says so on the menu), mine was served as a single slice of white bread, open face. I've never had a worse "sandwich" that cost me $20. Also, the "french fries" were just fingerling potatoes and were way over salted. My wife's $18 "waffles" were literally 3 pieces of bread grilled in a waffle iron, were tiny, and came with 2..literally, TWO...blueberries and no apricot jam that was mentioned in the menu. The food was not good and seemed worse than amateur. I don't know how to put it into words other than saying it seemed like somebody who either ran out ingredients or doesn't usually cook made our food. Because everything was incredibly late and unappetizing, we just took our meal to go and asked for the check. Overall, a terrible experience from food to service. I feel bad because I know the restaurant business is difficult but it was one of the worst meals I've had and was ashamed in front of family for the mother's day experience that they had. If you're in Hammonds Ferry, just go to the Larder or Manuel's. read more
