    My huge chicken sandwich
    Laura P.

On the way to Atlanta, we ventured a bit to come here. Very cute neighborhood, that whole area looks pretty new. The restaurant had great sandwich options. I got the fried chicken sandwich but grilled. It came with a huge French bread loaf. I actually thought the blsauce would be interesting but it was too.much - the second half had too much pepper. The Ceasar salad had top much parmesan. The fries I hear had sit out too.long. the other two sandwiches were good and on the small side at least compared to my huge one that I couldn't finish. Service was nice. Would come again hut try other items and maybe try another place since we really don't come to Augusta much.

We were visiting our son who lives in Augusta and he suggested we all go to Manuel's Bread Cafe. He had been there a few days earlier and really liked it. It was super hot that day, 95 degrees so we did reserve for indoor table and we were seated promptly in the nice cool A/C dining room. For appetizers, I had the Asparagus & Potato soup with Creme Fraiche which was delicious . My husband and son shared the Frog Legs appetizer which they enjoyed. I had a nice glass of Chardonnay to accompany my meal. For main course, I had the Boeuf Bourgignon which was delicious! My husband had one of the daily specials, Crispy Crispy flounder which I thought was just okay. For dessert we shared a large piece of strawberry cake which was delicious. These dessert portions are quite large so I do recommend splitting them. Overall, very good service, eclectic menu, nice ambiance, I recommend this restaurant.

Food: excellent, the duck was flavorful and fall off the bone good. Crisp skin soft leg and thigh meat topping mixed greens a Dijon forward dressing, cucumber, tomato and awesome and I mean awesome croutons! Great dish all around not too heavy yet filling and super flavorful. Service: attentive and helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, very good! Ambience: calm and relaxing very welcoming and comfortable. This is a gem of a restaurant situated in a neighborhood, well worth it! I cannot recommend this place more! Excellent work to this great team! I had breakfast yesterday and it was amazing! Goat cheese omelette, great toast, crispy bacon and great OJ! Pure greatness here.

Manuel's Bread Cafe is situated in the more upscale and cute part of north Augusta and is one of the most reliable and pleasant places to have brunch, lunch, or dinner in the area. While their indoor seating can get a little cramped, their outdoor seating is fantastic with both umbrellas and fans for those sunny days and heaters for the colder ones. On one frigid morning while we were there they even had some blankets for us to use! Food is fantastic, and my personal favourite is their burger which is an unbeatable deal. Workers are all so nice and very accommodating to people with basically wild toddlers :) This place is expectedly very popular, so walk in seating on a weekend is basically impossible. Be sure to snag a reservation!

    Kobe Burger

This was my first time visiting Manuel's. The food was good. The Kobe Beef Burger was good. Bunch ended just before I got here. But I will come again and try brunch. The service was also really good. If you wanna come for brunch, for sure look up there brunch hours. They do offer both outdoor and indoor seating. I came on a nice sunny clear day and sitting outside would have been perfect. For those who are gluten free, I asked if they have any gluten free options since it's not on the menu. There sandwiches and burgers can be made with gluten free bread. And for breakfast they can have gluten free toast.

    Cake was fantastic.

We tried turtle cheesecake, pineapple upside down cake, hummingbird cake, coconut cake and the triple chocolate cake. They were all amazing.

I love this restaurant so much. I come here often. Kaylee normally is my server and she's always so sweet and helpful. I always get the fried ravioli but this time the recipe was different. It's a little too crunchy now and the coating is sort of bland. I miss the original ravioli!

Wonderful place with good food in a beautiful setting.

Located in North Augusta just 5 minutes from downtown Augusta Ga. The neighborhood has the feel of a small seashore village. A beautiful neighborhood full of trees and parks is ideal for bike rides, walks and pet walks. The food at Manuels is delicious and reasonably priced. The wife and I plan to come back for drinks and something from their wide assortment of deserts. Whether it's for the food or the ambiance, we highly recommend this place.

Sunday Brunch at The Annapolitan! Since we were originally from Maryland, and I read this article…read moreabout this new restaurant replacing what was formally known as Bistro 55, in North Augusta - we thought we would give it a try since it features Chesapeake Bay-inspired steaks and seafood. Since it was brunch we ordered the crab cakes and a traditional eggs benedict. Both were excellent especially the crab cakes since it is rare that we can find crab cakes that equal what we had become accustomed to in

We arrived 10+ minutes before party of 5 and ordered our food before them and our food arrived at the same time as theirs along with the party of 3 that was there when we arrived. Needless to say my French toast was cold, I sent it back, they wanted to give me an order of French toast that clearly belonged to someone else, because it had caramel and apples and I ordered mine with strawberries. I said no thank you, I was good and didn't want any at all. Midway through my meal the guy brings out the French toast with strawberries, but the kicker is it wasn't freshly made but put in the microwave, because it was soggy. The strawberry compote tasted like it came out of a jar, and the French toast had one strawberry sliced in half on it. I gave 2 stars because the grits were decent and the crab cakes were okay, (to much mustard), they didn't have that Maryland style taste of Old Bay seasoning (I grew up in the area and frequent Lexington Market and restaurants, when I visit there, so I know the taste of good crab cakes). Sincerely very disappointed Mia

Every time we walk in, we're greeted with that warm, welcoming vibe in the historic Sylvan Building - it's cozy yet elegant, perfect for a special night out or just a really great meal. The food is outstanding: seasonal, fresh ingredients shine through in every dish, and the wine list is impressive (no surprise with their Wine Spectator award). We've tried a variety of plates over our visits, and nothing has missed the mark - always flavorful, beautifully presented, and satisfying. What keeps us coming back (and recommending it nonstop) is how consistently excellent it is. We run Chestnut Cottage Inn just 4 blocks away, so we send our guests here all the time. Without fail, they come back raving about their meal and the great time they had. It's the perfect spot for visitors to Columbia - close by, reliable, and memorable. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and book a table. You won't regret it! Highly recommend for dinner or their weekend brunch.

To begin I had requested a window seat @6:00 for 2 which was not available. We arrived 15 minutes early , so I would have expected to be given the choice to wait for a window table or be sat , no offer made. And speaking of tables , the chairs are super uncomfortable and you notice that as soon as you sit, hard and straight . We ordered from the special menu , but it was offerings from the regular standard menu . My husband had the flat iron steak w broccolini for extra $10.00 up charge . Steak was seasoned well but very small 6 oz portion . Broccolini was a mystery , served almost raw with charred ends. Was too tough to eat or cut with knife. I ordered the Beef short rib w Brussels sprouts and parsnips. The beef was flavorful, tasted exactly like crock pot roast . Agin , the Brussel sprouts were hard as a rock, literally! When trying to stick the fork into it , it flew off the plate ! I love al dente vegetables but last nights were extremely undercooked with NO flavor at all.Without seasonings Brussel sprouts can taste like dirt , and these did . Desert was date sticky pudding which was excellent . Summary is for $165.00 dinner we left underwhelmed , hungry and looking for the nearest Taco Bell. I would like to note our server was great .

I love the atmosphere as it's fancy enough for wine and cheese but not stuck up or snobbish as one may expect. The service here is always exceptional and the server is very attentive. For the wine I do enjoy a good white wine here, and I usually get a charcuterie board to go with it. One star off only because it's a little bit expensive and also you have to choose between ordering two cheeses and two meats or three and you can't order just one meat and one cheese. Or like single order the cheese and meats. If I drink I'm going to eat but sometimes I just want something small as my snack. Anyways wine is great here. In addition to the glass of wine and charcuterie from Yelp, I ordered a red wine flight, and a pizza. The pizza came with apples in it, I'm open to trying new things, but I was a bit skeptical of the taste. When it came out, it was appealing to the eye and belly . It was soo good, my friend ordered another one. The flight, woo, took me OUT! I'm not much of a stinker, but I had to sit there for awhile to gain my composure. I'm happy that I wasn't driving. That night they had live music and he did a great job adding to the ambience of the restaurant. From the service I received, the food, and the wine, I would give them an A+. This place is definitely a gem.
