New favorite breakfast place in town? I think so! The service was great and the foot came out quick. It is a walk up order bar and then you take the number to your table. The French toast was decadent and did not need maple syrup as it was the perfect sweetness. The croissant sandwich was fantastic. Went for lunch on a workday and order the French onion soup and tuna salad sandwich. You place your order at the counter and are given a number to place on your table for a server to bring out. I sat outside and it took about 20 minutes to have my food bought out. The soup was hot, the greens in the salad were fresh and the tuna was actually delicious. The French bread was a little hard for my liking though. The restaurant has a French theme (obviously) and there's indoor and outdoor seating. read more

We were pretty disappointed with our experience today. The environment was cozy, but felt unnecessarily tight and service was extremely slow (we easily waited 45 minutes for lunch) despite not being very busy. Staff didn't seem particularly welcoming and the sandwiches were underwhelming for the price as each had just one slice of meat and a couple slices of cheese for around $13... What? This place has many great reviews, but our experience just didn't match expectations. The single raspberry macaron I got was tasty though! A star for that. read more

The staff was very nice it was just a bit chaotic and disorganized. They had an entire table set up next to ours where the staff was getting work done that seemed like it should have been completed before opening. They also left a dirty mop in that are and overall I just felt like I knew too much of what was going on on their backend to relax. The food was middle of the road. The server was very nice and tried incredibly hard. Overall, it wasn't the best but wasn't the worst. I'll probably give it another try to see if perhaps we went on an off day. read more

La Parisienne is a unique spot to get coffee, a French pastry, and even a more substantial bite to eat for lunch. They are situated a little off the main strip of downtown which makes for a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Their outdoor seating is fantastic, and i appreciate their French themed interior that's mixed with local flair. I'd say their food is pretty average and won't leave you super impressed. Their sandwich flavors have great promise, but the amount of fillings they put on is no where near what you'd expect either for the price or for a filling lunch. Maybe that's just them being authentic? The service leaves much to be desired. General inattentive and sometimes a weird dynamic between the workers. Lovely little place with charming decor, nice outdoor patio enclosed from traffic, delightful service and delicious food. Got a simple breakfast of lemon sugar crepes and a side of bacon and coffee. The coffee was fantastic but alongside the crepes it was all delicious. Sweet girl at the counter taking orders and another server was just as smiley and warm. On atmosphere, this place ranks highly. A charming little space with indoor and outdoor seating. On service, less so; they asked me if I wanted my pastry warmed and then didn't actually do it when I said yes. It seemed like they were struggling with other tables so I didn't want to bother them. To be fair, though, my chocolate avalanche was perfectly delicious at room temperature. My mozzarella and pesto on a baguette was flavorful inside, but the baguette itself was a little dry. I was happy for the salad that came on the side. Overall, I come in with a mixed impression and kind of a 3.5 rating in my head, but it's holiday season and I'd back them to do better next time. read more

The service was pretty good. We ordered the charcuterie board which included duck pate and assorted cured meats. It was really good. For the main courses we had the salmon with spinach and the scallops with braised leeks with mushrooms. The salmon was cooked well but lacked seasoning as well as the spinach. Both were just barley warm. The scallops were cooked well and the leeks were tasty. The place is small so not much room for all the clutter that was stored about. read more

I could tell they were busy earlier in the day since they were out of most bakery items. I have heard if you want to try something in particular then go early in the day. Got 5 macaroons- lavendar, vanilla, raspberry, funfetti, and rose. They were delicious and the reason it's 3 stars. When it comes to service, there was only 1 person manning the front so it was slow. I also ordered a caramel macchiato. They asked if I wanted any additional flavorings added, which i thought was a little odd since it should have caramel flavoring already. I later realized I should have taken them up on more flavoring because it tasted like warm milk with a splash of coffee/expresso. Ended up throwing most of it away after it got cold. Maybe I'll come back to try a crossaint but likely won't get coffee again. read more

Such a cute place! Everyone was kind and attentive, even though it was bustling with activity. The owner even stopped by our table to ask how our sandwiches were. Absolutely delicious! I had the turkey and my husband had mozzarella and both were perfection! The greens were fresh with a simple yummy dressing. Now let's talk about the chocolate avalanche.. We were lucky to get ours fresh out of the oven and my mouth salivates just thinking about the taste. We also waited for another batch to bring a couple home for our daughter. We decided to try La Parisienne for my birthday since we love French food. The ambiance was amazing and the service from our waitress was outstanding. She recommended a nice Beaujolais that complemented our meal of mussels and frites (very tasty), Poulet Normand (very tasty) and beef filet (just ok - a bit tough and chewy). Incredibly disappointed. We walked in and the servers greeted us and just walked off. We had to follow behind one of them to ask how to order, where to seat. It was so awkward. I ordered the jambon-beurre (not jambon-beurre cornichons soooo no pickles). I still got jambon-beurre cornichons w mini gerkin pickles randomly thrown on the bottom of the sandwich. Gross. The beauty of a jamon-beurre is the simplicity of the ingredients. High quality everything. Instead I got fresh bread--it was very good bread--and low quality everything else. The meat was obviously low quality and looked like it was what you'd buy from the store in a package. The Gruyère was actually Provolone and also not fresh. The "butter" was margarine. When I tried to speak to the chef, she was incredibly rude and argumentative. I could have made the same sandwich at my house from ingredients bought from Walmart...where I suspect most of the sandwich came from. I'd never go back here. read more

Lovely ambiance, I felt like I was in France, not Aiken. Everything we had was tasty (prices are more Parisienne than Small town USA) and we vowed to return. I don't know what else to say other than MAGNIFIQUE! This is an amazing five star find in downtown Aiken. If you live in Aiken, are visiting Aiken or just passing through this little cafe is worth it. Step inside for a little taste and ambiance of French cafe! There isn't anything on the menu that didn't look or taste amazing! It definitely offers a big taste of French cooking in a small Southern town. This morning's breakfast share included the Croque Monsieur, Crogue Madame and Brioche French Toast and I recommend trying all three. No review is complete without complimenting the staff for their friendliness and attentiveness. I highly recommend this cafe and will be back tomorrow for another croissant and latte! read more

I recently learned some scary health news and eating out has become increasingly difficult. I came here today as the chef was able to accommodate my seed oil intolerance with their absolutely delicious and nourishing salad niçoise. The salad was large and incredibly filling with loads of protein from the anchovies, tuna and hard boiled egg. They also had honey for their decadent and fluffy cappuccino. I so appreciate the attention to care and the ambiance in this space. I am new to the area and will definitely be back. Highly recommend! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is little more than an overpriced cafeteria with no wait staff and the rudest owner I have ever encountered! Went for Sunday brunch with friends Waited in line for 15 minutes to be told there was no hollandaise! Had to wait in line again to change the order . After 90 minutes when we still had only half our food, we decided to give up. Went to the counter and asked for a refund. The owner threw money on the floor and told me" l don't want your attitude here go home and take your pills " It was humiliating! He should not be serving the public. read more

Such a cute little place with good food! Stopped here at 2pm on a Tuesday and it was not busy. You need to order at the counter then seat yourself. I ordered the Eggs Norwegian and an iced latte. The latte was good very standard and the eggs were almost perfect. I prefer a runnier egg, but overall everything was great. I sat on the porch on an 80 degree day but there are fans and plenty of shade. 10/10 would recommend stopping for breakfast or brunch! read more

Delicious French onion soup. I wouldn't recommend going for a workday lunch break, but rather for dinner or when you're not in a rush.

Find me a new spot for quality coffee and pastries and you will find me happy. Such was the case on what seemed an uneventful afternoon. It began as such; I had lunch, I was tired, I opened the Yelp app to find a place to get coffee. And then, they appeared. I had planned to visit for some time, for coffee and some sweets, but just never had. I knew this was my time. The place is tucked away in a beautiful historic house. I inadvertently used the side door, but I'm not sure it matters. There is plenty of room for the seating (both indoor and outdoor) and for movement. The "front" of the place, where you order and such, has a lower ceiling (maybe a former patio/porch space?) which adds a sense of separation from everything else. It goes without saying that you hit with almost as many amazing aromas as you are options for food and drinks. Bread breaking, freshing pulled espresso shots, warm semisweet chocolate. I went with my first visit go-to, an Americano. And a couple of danishes. All of it was gone before I exited the parking lot. Shame on me for missing out on such a delightful business in Aiken! Checked this place out for the first time and they had a French dip on the specials menu. Hubby and I both ordered the same thing. French dip was good and so were the potato wedges. We got a couple pastries to go as well. All the pastries looked pretty good so would definitely want to try some others the next time. read more

No lie...the Chocolate Avalanche is the best pastry I have ever eaten! So buttery, so chocolaty. I hope they never change the recipe. Now that I said that, I love this new spot. The waitstaff was patient as I mulled over which of the many pastries I wanted to try. I've been twice now. Once I sat outside on the porch and took in some people watching. The tables were appropriately spaced and the ambiance was chill. I took my most recent order to go because there were too many people for me to feel comfortable sitting. Both times, service was superb and my pasties and coffee were to my liking. I'll definitely add this spot to my Saturday after Farmers Market routine. read more
