About a year later and honestly I can say what a difference a year has made!! The staff was very friendly. The lattes we had were delicious. We ordered the white mochas. The crepes we order were delightful. I had the French Nutella crepe and my friend had the Salmon one(I did not try it but she stated it was good). I did order two macaroons, the pistachio and the creme brulee one I believe. It was my favorite!!! The pistachio was pretty good as well just not as much flavor as the other. I'm actually really excited to go back to this cute little joint. If you get the chance to go I would. It's a cute place to grab a bite to eat. Only downside is it is expensive. I was excited to go to this restaurant/cafe. I arrive with my parents & I had to ask for a menu. When the girl at the register finished the transaction we asked for a receipt. Not sure but I think she ignored the question since we asked 3 times. Finally her response was that the credit card company will give us a receipt. We then got our water & sat down. We waited a longer but somewhat decent time & then the server brought 2 of the 3 plates. He then asked if we needed silverware. I was like yea...there's a side salad... He returned & then asked if my mom is going to need silverware & she said "I don't have any". Then he asked "well are you going to need some for your food?" He then had no idea what my mom ordered & took a while to get her food. It was a weird experience I will say. The entrance sign is weird directing you to the front of the building for dine in yet you need to enter below the sign. There was no greeting/welcoming. No thank you or checking in on how our food was. The customer service was poor. There definitely needs to be a lot of customer service training here. Stopped here for a quick lunch after checking out the famous tree-lined South Boundary Ave. I ordered the goat cheese, tomato, and honey croissant with side salad. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and toasted perfectly. Just the right amount of honey and goat cheese paired well with the tomatoes. The side salad was a good portion and the vinaigrette had a nice bite to it. Since it was a nice day we sat on the patio. Outdoor seating was well spaced out, and all staff members wore masks. I had the greatest pleasure of coming here a few months ago. I wanted to give this place a really wonderful try and it was in Aiken so why not. It kind of reminds me of a tiny Bakery / Cafe and I was really impressed by the way out the food and the service. The food that I purchased was excellent and I had a chance to try simple macaron. Not to mention the fact is that they sell tiramisu here which is my very favorite dessert. I'm going to consider coming back again in the future whatever I'm in Aiken. But if you haven't tried it yet I recommend you do. One of the best French restaurants in Aiken and who knows maybe the only one. read more

I've had the pleasure of eating here twice while visiting, what a wonderful little spot in Aiken! The croissants are flaky and buttery....absolute perfection. The BEST thing I had was a pastry with an apricot filling, it's hard to even describe just how delicious this was for breakfast. My only regret was not getting a picture of all the yummy food! The location is quaint and comfortable for breakfast or lunch. The outside seating area is dog friendly, which was great for me because I was missing my dog terribly. The staff was very friendly and efficient, which can be hard to find at some places. The clientele is across the board, from parents with kids to older folks and everyone in between. Both times I was there it was extremely busy which is a good sign that everyone is loving this spot just as much as I did. read more

OMG. A FRENCH restaurant in Aiken! Please understand that I came from Houston and D.C., so I was definitely spoiled in my eating choices. Soft opening right now at La Parisienne. They were very busy and had a small part of their menu being served. We bought a spinach and smoked salmon quiche with fries and two unsweetened teas. The cost for a piece of quiche was $11 - even though the quiche was excellent I did think it was a little overpriced. Keep in mind this is a lunch, brunch kind of place and that price is bordering on a dinner entree. I know this is a French restaurant but there was a distinct lack of ice in the drinks. I've been craving pastries and found this place. I would of taken a photo of the pastries but they didn't last long. Everything was so fresh and flaky. We decided to eat breakfast in the indoor dinning room. Most of the dinning room was full of people relaxing in conversation. I got the croque madame which was amazing and cheesy. My husband got the 2 eggs with potatoes, sausage, and bacon. Everything was presented very well and tasted amazing. Ok...so this little place sit smack dab in the middle of little ole Aiken, SC and boy is it a gem! Its in an old cottage home converted into a restaurant. There ia a beautiful outdoor seating area that includes a pergola covered in vines making it cozy & intimate. The interior walls are covered with vintage photos of France from days gone by with a few more current scenes thrown in. The pastries were fresh amd the cappuccino was perfect. We had a layered red velvet cake done french style that was so moist, delicious amd light that it hardly felt indulgent. The icing was not too sweet which i liked. This is not your typical red velvet cake but red velvet done French Neapolitan style and it was perfect. We also tried a chocolate twist and an apricot twist that were both good, but it was a holiday when most other places were closed and I felt like they might have been leftovers. (I was thinking of knocking off a star for that but more to that story...read on). I wasn't real happy at first that one waitress wore her mask below the nose (another reason for what was going to be a cautious 4 star rating during COVID.) As luck would have it...I was so busy taking photos and looking at the old photos that I forgot my purse and drove completely home 60 miles away, which was a good thing for alk of us!!!. I called the restaurant and the girl there told me she had my purse and would hold it until the next day. Hubby (who is French BTW) went back the next day for the purse and had another cappuccino and brought home two Pain Chocolate that were fresh, airy and scrumptious as buying them from a patisserie on the streets of Paris. Alors.....Le Parisien will be a regular stop when in the Aiken area. There were many more items on the menu like crepes and paninis and salads that we didn't try yet but are looking forward to it. Btw..there is something to be said for honest and kind staff persons too. They kept my purse safe with all my belonging and I thank them for their honesty. What a disappointment this time. We got here after a long time and wanted to come back for brunch due to our last experience. It was bad. Food was mediocre and the service was horrible. The server walked out for awhile but she couldn't see our table for our food. Then she got water after asking for it again as I already gave order at the counter yet for water and food and drinks. She was holding water glasses by her chest which is awful practice for hygiene. I had to get the silverware as we weren't offered. My husband's Bloody Mary had celery that was gone bad. We tried to stop in here on a Thursday morning around 10, it was very very busy and we couldn't find a parking spot! Tried again Friday morning and were able to get a spot and try this new place. You order at the counter, take a number, and they bring it to the table. I got an egg croissant, and my boyfriend got an egg and cheese, both with potatoes. The potatoes were great, very well seasoned and tasty, and we both really enjoyed our meals. We also got a chocolate twist for each of us, which we loved. Paid around $35 for all of the above. The pastries looked incredible. Having been to Paris, I'm a bit of tough critic, but the food seemed very authentic and fresh.
