    Just the cutest curb appeal..

Such a great little find in Winnsboro. If you are looking for a little something different with fresh ingredients then the Tea Room is your spot. We have been several times and never been disappointed. From the she crab soup (which is not to be missed if it is on the soup of the day). To the Dijon ham sandwich, Turkey and Fig on Ciabatta, or the Chicken Salad Croissant. Whatever you try be sure and wash it all down with a fresh glass of Sweet Iced Tea. The little hint it spice in their sweet tea really makes it special and you know you are truly experiencing the Tea Room. So if in Winnsboro do not miss it!

We loved this place the moment we pulled in. We came in just before the noon church crowd and I couldn't have picked a better time since it quickly began to pick up as we were finishing our meal. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I asked our waitress what the smell was and she looked a bit confused so when I said it was intoxicating, we laughed! She gave me a quick run down of the days special , a pot roast, that was marinated and slow cooked with some fresh herbs. We all agreed that was the intoxicating smell (I'm telling you, I wish I had a candle for the way it smelled in there)!! My daughter ordered the house salad and I the Greek salad. We ate every bit of them too. They were delicious and perfectly portioned. I love when restaurants toss the dressing in because it tells me you know your ratios that well. The baguette that came with it was also super fresh and super warm; like fresh out the oven warm! They have a variety of desserts like cheesecake, key lime pie and even macaroons which didn't even make it to the door since my daughter ate the macaroon super fast! Check out was quick. I'm not sure if they bring the bill or if you just walk up but there was a large party beginning to seat next to us so we just got up to make it easier for everyone to move around. I'd love to come back some day, maybe on my way up to Charlotte.

From the time I parked in the charming downtown to the time I entered into Laura's, it was truly magical. The customer service was top notch, I mean seriously I have never had customer service so good. And the food??? YUM YUM YUM! Literally everything I had was amazing. They start you out with a lemonade and a pot of tea of their choosing, then you can pick your second pot of your choice. They then bring out one dish at a time until you receive your last portion which is the tiered tray of goodies. This place is perfect for a solo adventure, girls day, bday celebrations, anniversaries etc. they have a vast selection of tea hats you can borrow to enhance your experience if you didn't already come dressed for the occasion. You even get to pick out our own tea cup before being seated. Once seated a young lady came by with a porcelain filled pitcher of hot water to rinse your tea cup out. I seriously cannot rave enough abt this place. They have a cafe downstairs if you don't want to do the tea experience but whatever experience you choose you cannot leave without looking over their vast selection of teas you can purchase. I absolutely cannot wait to go back here!

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.
