I recently tried this sandwich place with a friend. I heard the chicken salad was really good so I ordered the chicken salad panini. It was just okay...too much mayo and wilted lettuce, not really a panini. Why would you put lettuce on a panini, it's just going to wilt??? I have only been to Doza Rizen on their bingo night, which was super fun and made me want to come back! That night, they had a sandwich, side and drink special and the food was delicious, the atmosphere was clean, tidy and exactly what you would hope a small local sandwich shop/cafe would look like. My first impression when walking in was that the inside felt clean and tidy. The best part was definitely the staff. We were served our drinks before we even sat down, and got our food within minutes! It had your average cafe vibes with a southern twist, and there were a lot of signs towards the counter giving a lot of helpful information. I got the ham and swiss panini and liked it a lot! This is a solid choice for the Chapin area. There are quite a few sandwich options in town but this is consistently the best. Friendly service, lots of choices and really good food! The panini choices are the best in my opinion, but you can't really go wrong with anything to include the bakery choices. I recommend the spicy bean dip and chips for your side. Cute place in the shopping center that has tasty food with delicious in-store made dessert bars & cookies!! Hubby enjoyed the chicken salad with pimento cheese on a warm panini with chips while I had the West Coast Wrap with grape salad. Both were excellent. The grape salad was new to me & wow was it yummy!!!! The staff was super helpful & welcoming. They were pleased to answer our question about the restaurant name as well. I love chicken salad and deli food. A mutual friend recommended this place. I told the young lady /cashier it was my first time and I ordered the chicken salad on croissant. I asked for recommendations for a side and she told me it all depends on what I like. I noticed the cashier was a little stoic but I brushed it off. She appeared to be a teenager and I know this is a family business so she probably didn't want to be there. I ordered my sandwich with a side of pasta salad. Another party ordered after me and they also mentioned it was their first time. The young lady offered them a few samples and she appeared to be more attentive and kinder. I really thought I was going to be blown away with their food but my meal was underwhelming. My croissant came with shredded lettuce and the chicken salad was lacking flavor. My pasta salad came in a tiny sauce container. I was expecting an Italian vignette but instead it was balsamic and it was a lot ( not in a good way). I ate my meal because I paid for it but I didn't enjoyed it. I think it was a combination of the poor customer service and the bland food.
