We were so happy that this place opened up, and we love coming here a lot. From breakfast to lunch and some good ice cream, we are down. Everyone is super welcoming and good with my allergies. The food is good, and the ice cream is so delicious, even in the middle of winter, we love good ice cream. The theme is fun as it's a train, and it's nice and decorated with all the sticky notes and bar stools to sit on inside. There are also picnic tables outside to eat at. We love taking our friends and family here for some good food. read more

This review is for a breakfast sandwich. Disclaimer- we are for the NYC area so we are comparing to Brooklyn bagels and fresh Pork Roll. Unfortunately our sandwich featured neither despite ordering such. The bagel was round bread, not a boiled bagel. The Pork Roll was stale and left us wondering if it was safe to eat. 20 min to get there NY bagel and there was no line and I didn't even have it toasted. Well first I am from NY and it was not a NY bagel second the cream cheese was dripping off the bagel I guess they thinned the cream cheese to get more for their money. I had a few bites trying to eat it but finally just threw it away. How do you mess up bagel in cream cheese. And very over priced. I was the only person here and all I ordered was a plain omelet and it took 30 freaking minutes. How long does it take to make an omelet. I can make an omelet in under 5 minutes. And again I was the only person here. DO NOT COME EVER. read more

If you like eating outside in the summer time humidity...go for it. I personally don't. The food was good but in my opinion over priced for chicken and a simple waffle. A little more seasoning would be great! Loved the candy options and the nostalgia of it too! read more

Great addition to Chapin! This locally owned treat is finally open and it was worth the wait! They have a limited menu at the moment but I'm pretty sure that it's going to expand, and there's still plenty on there for everyone. It is a combination of an old-school candy shop, coffee shop, café, and ice cream parlor. It's a perfect business for the town. It's in an historic building that only adds to the charm. The owner is really nice as well! We both had the bacon avocado sandwiches, which have waffle as the bread. The waffle was a little bit plain but the flavor of the sandwich was quite nice. I definitely recommend getting the onion rings because they were excellent! The fries were pretty good too. They were waffle fries which are always nice. The unsweet tea was perfect, not bitter at all. Also, the coffee is most excellent! The caramel latte is a great way to get your caffeine fix with some flavor! read more

Went in to give this newer place a try because with their limited days and hours open couldn't get there easily. Anyway went in December and was surprised they had no seating inside at all! You could only eat at outside tables or sit in your car or do take out. Maybe I'd go back in the future if they change that up. Very disappointed. read more

You will not find anything like it. I've had the pleasure of having a few meals here including the breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Lunch has a great variety as well. Many of the items on the coffee and ice cream list have local named themes and are original recipes from the owner. The ingredients to the meals are top notch and it shows. I bring my out of town guests and they have loved it. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered 'crispy chicken' (expecting fried chicken) sandwich and got this strange coated chicken (boiled? baked?) The coating was slimy and the chicken was overdone and chewy. To add to all of this, the concept of a sweet waffle and a savory piece of chicken was just revolting. The inside of the store was charming and the candies were very cool but the whole effect was ruined by having to walk outside in the weather to get our 'sandwiches' from a food truck. Also, it is very expensive and our order took 25 minutes to be prepared. read more

Cute place... was finally in Chapin when it was open on Sunday afternoon. Tried the hush puppy and the Buffalo loaded fries. The hush puppies were terrible was disappointed that they were described pimento cheese stuffed but they were actually super dense burnt corn balls with pimento cheese mixed into the batter. But the loaded waffle fries were outstanding and an amazing deal! Crispy fries, good balance of toppings and sauce. Will definitely be back for treats and more if the loaded fries! read more

Nice for something different. The big thing is waffles and old time candy shop. Glad they let you know time it will take to make food because made fresh ~10-15 mins. Kids meals had good variety. Veggie sandwich was very delicious but expected a little bigger for price. My 11yr old got the chicken and fries basket ~$12. Expected a drink with it. He said it was very good. And 7 yr old liked the chicken and waffles. Expected the celery to be a bit more. There is a little seating inside. The ice cream very yummy but did not try. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! We are from out of town and stopped in for breakfast. Everything was amazing! My favorite were the grits and hush puppies. Went to ice cream with 8 people. All ice cream flavors were empty but vanilla. I asked if there was any fresh containers of ice cream. Server said she couldn't get one. She said she would scrap out what was in the bucket. Very disappointed We have so few choices in chapin. Hate to see this one going downhill. Most of shelves empty. They have a pretty good variety of flavors more than Baskin Robbins did (if still in business). Coffee, different cone types, birthday cakes I believe. Seating is generous inside whereas outside is just 1 table. The outside is a wooden walkway that extends to the other businesses so it can't be blocked by tables. I guess people can just hang out on the rails if really want to sit outside. The pricing is about what other Ice cream shops charge but that is to be expected. The business is set up about as well as can be for the space. Customer service is a little distracted but with teenagers it is what it is. Local to Chapin it is a great idea, reminds me of Marble Slab without having to drive all the way to Irmo. We will probably return, so convenient in town.

This business is so cool! Internationally inspired meals from Espinosa salad to waffle sandwiches, and specialty coffee and sweet treats. I watched them struggle through COVID with starting up their small business, and although they have been slammed since the start, their efforts to create something special do not go unnoticed. The infusion of bistro-style dining meets food truck dining instill a unique restaurant experience overall. Bring your families for a lunch by the train tracks on a nice day, or stop in for a coffee before work, or even pick up some sweets for a special occasion or just for fun.
