It was midafternoon on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet inside other than a group of linesmen enjoying their meal. Parking is abundant outside and there is seating both inside and outside if you're grabbing food and want to stick around. The order process is easy. There is the small window/counter by the kitchen area. The menu is above. I had a simple order: hot dog with ketchup, mustard, and chili. In this part of the country "All the Way" seems to be ketchup, mustard, chili, and onions. I skip the onions. The folks behind the counter were friendly and efficient. I grabbed a Coke Zero from the coolers and went to pay. By the time my credit card had gone through, my dog was ready. I ended up taking it out to the car and finished it in a few bites as I was on the road. It was a good dog. I really liked their chili. Everything went down easy. These are the types of dogs that you can have 3-4 of pretty easily (and enjoy every one!)

With new ownership, the price has nearly doubled and the hot dog is no doubt the lowest quality meat possible to purchase, essentially zero taste. The chili on the dogs is still decent but that is purchased elsewhere. Possibly the lowest quality hot dog I've ever eaten. Yes, the store is fixed up a bit but still remains highway robbery compared to elsewhere .

An interesting choice, but not my favorite food truck…read more My family chose to have hot dogs for dinner, and we were so excited to give The Haute Dog Lady a try. We moved from Michigan and haven't been able to find a good Coney dog in South Carolina, so my husband was estatic to see Coney dogs on the menu. We ordered two coney dogs, two jumbo dogs, one kids meal, and nachos for our group of 5. After placing our order, we were just kind of left to wait. I wasn't given a total, asked to pay, told it would be up in X minutes, etc... I thought that the person working was kind, but not very communicative. When our order was finally ready (about 10 minutes later), everything was passed out in open containers one by one. It was hard to carry so much by myself and I had to ask for something to put it in. I thought it common sense to see a person, alone, with 8 items wouldn't be able to carry 8 food items that were in no packaging. She just kept handing me things while she looked for a styrofoam box (like a to go box) and I had to leave my food on the ground to take the box from her. It seemed like the truck was unprepared for "to go orders". No bags, no containers with lids, etc. Not even a table to set food on while organizing. This was the most disappointing part of using this food truck and the reason I'm removing one star. The food itself was alright but not spectacular. The Coney dog was extremely disappointing. It is not a good Coney dog and our search for an authentic style Coney dog will continue. Their chili for the Coney dog was more sweet and tasted like BBQ sauce more than it did chili. My hot dog was missing toppings, even though she said the correct toppings when she read it back to me. For the price, I expected better order accuracy and was hoping for a more authentic style Coney dog. This is the reason that I removed another star. Overall, I'd likely not give this truck another try, but it definitely wasn't the worst in the world either. It may be someone's favorite but it certainly wasn't mine.

I really like this spot…read more This past week was my second visit and I thankfully missed the lunch rush. There were two nice older men (I knew one of them) sitting at the tables out front having a spirited chat. It was cute. I was greeted as soon as I entered and decided on the Carolina Classic, vegan version, as I wanted to try a coleslaw topping. I had the Reuben Dog last time and it was divine, prompting this return. I decided to get the meal with the drink and a side but kept the simple with just the chips. The classic was just okay. I loved the grilled bun however, but think the onions mainly didn't work for me. My iced tea was tasty too. A mother and her teenager ordered take out while I was there and were anxious to get there order - obvious devotees, and a great sign. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit.

There is also a drive through along the right side of the building. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. The ordering counter is to the right as you come in with the menu board above. We were greeted as we walked in and told to sit anywhere after we placed our order. The food was brought to the table in about ten minutes. Unfortunately, only one item was correct. Instead of leaving the correct order, both were returned to the kitchen. The correct order was placed on the counter and sat while the other order was made. When the other order was complete about ten minutes later, both were brought to the table. As supplied, the Fox burger was below average. The veggies were fresh but the meat had cooled considerably and had little taste. The bun was OK but could have been fresher. The fries were no longer hot. They were a little undercooked as well, being soft without the crisp outside. The corrected order, another Fox burger, was better. The veggies were fresh and the meat was hot on this burger but still had little taste. The fries were warm at best but were cooked properly with a crisp outside. The onion rings were fresh and hot. The restaurant was about half full and there was plenty of staff but no one checked on us throughout the meal. There was no explanation regarding the incorrect order. There was a lively discussion regarding some relationship one of the servers was having which provided the show accompanying the meal, but it seemed to distract the staff.

They advertise that they've served over 4,000,000 hot dogs which is pretty impressive for a spot this size. I asked if they were serving at that time in the morning around (11:00am) and she said they were hot and ready as soon as they open (music to my ears!). The combo of two dogs, chips, and a drink totaled something like $2.80. Talk about affordable! The dogs were ready quickly and I took a seat at the table in the back by the coolers. They were hot and fresh. The chili had a really nice tang and bite that complimented the creamy slaw really well. I also got a piece of pound cake because...why not? It was delicious as well. Some call it a dive bar, some are more generous; are there sticky tables, servers with tattoos, a busy bar were suds and cheaper whiskey prevail, and original paint? You bet! Let's get to the food. Lucky's menu features a variety of burgers, salads, wings, hotdogs and sides. Don't expect beer on tap, but an extensive selection of bottled beer should satisfy most folks. We ordered a Black and Blu burger with onion straws and a patty melt with fries. From the time we walked in until our food arrived probably took about 25 minutes. That was our own fault as we took way too long deciding what to order. When our food arrived, I immediately dug into the well constructed burger. I could barely open my mouth wide enough. And the taste? Very tasty. My wife enjoyed her patty melt--a burger on marbled rye with cheese and cooked onions that holds up surprisingly well! My onion straws were crunchy and sweet. Fries weren't great, but all in all an enjoyable burger experience. Oh, did I mention entertainment? Well on Tuesdays you can grab a free bingo card and try your luck winning a gift card!
