Standing alone next to a busy road, next to Burger King no less, sits Lucky's Burger shack. Long on character and short on parking, we gave it go on a busy Tuesday. Some call it a dive bar, some are more generous; are there sticky tables, servers with tattoos, a busy bar were suds and cheaper whiskey prevail, and original paint? You bet! Let's get to the food. Lucky's menu features a variety of burgers, salads, wings, hotdogs and sides. Don't expect beer on tap, but an extensive selection of bottled beer should satisfy most folks. We ordered a Black and Blu burger with onion straws and a patty melt with fries. From the time we walked in until our food arrived probably took about 25 minutes. That was our own fault as we took way too long deciding what to order. When our food arrived, I immediately dug into the well constructed burger. I could barely open my mouth wide enough. And the taste? Very tasty. My wife enjoyed her patty melt--a burger on marbled rye with cheese and cooked onions that holds up surprisingly well! My onion straws were crunchy and sweet. When you're looking for a fun, laid back dive bar with great food, Lucky's is your place. It looks so unassuming from the outside, but having tried several menu items, you can't go wrong. My favorite is the chicken philly cheesesteak. There's such a great option of beers and wines and the service is always outstanding. Lucky's is a great local bar in Irmo. I'm sure everyone knew I wasn't local but that didn't keep them from being friendly and welcoming. they have a great selection of canned and bottled beer. They also have some amazing burgers. The bartender said her favorite thing to eat is the chicken Philly. Regardless, I had the Lucky's burger. It was cooked perfectly and piled high with mushrooms and onion strings. It had fresh lettuce and tomato and tasty pickles. I added tots and a couple of beers. They have a number of TVs and I was lucky to be there during March Madness. Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely swing by any time I'm in the area. read more

This is my number one spot. I recommend People too for burgers that I bring from out of town or have friends from across town who never heard of it before. I felt a little awkward when I first came in there, however that quickly changed when both customers and employees became very friendly and welcoming and kind. Lucky's Burger Shack is a dive bar in Irmo with GREAT PRICES SERVICE, and BEST BURGERS IN TOWN. On certain days, I just need a Bud Lights vs. a micro brew. Try $2.25 each . Coming from Dallas TX, I haven't seen a beer price like this in 10 years. There are 15 person indoor bar and outside bar/entertainment area as well. Dogs are welcomed on the patio. Next was the Philly loaded and Lucky Burger. A real 6 oz burger and hand cut fries or tater tots for less than $10. They also have a 12 oz burger version for $13. All of the food is southern and damn good. The wait staff is VERY friendly and wouldn't stop asking how I could be served. 1st time in this location and won't be my last. Lucky's has got one of the best burgers around. I love that they have fried okra here in okra strut town!! Always been good the many times being here. Hands down...the best burger in the Columbia, SC area. Great ambiance. One could sit at the bar and drink all day and get really delicious food while doing so. I had the basic cheeseburger and fries. They use 100% Angus beef and the seasoning was perfect. Fried seemed to be fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Hubby had the Black & Blue burger and he reported that it was delicious. A beautiful think slice of fresh tomatoes, sliced onion, and fresh green leaf lettuce made the burgers picture perfect. I need to get me a shirt next time I'm there. Good people..from bikers on Harleys to young families and grandparents. It's a special place that feels like a well-fitting glove. My husband and I have been here a couple of times. The burgers are great - just what you want from a burger! Juicy, fresh toppings, and cooked "just right." The fries were good, the company was delightful (this IS the kind of bar where you can talk to strangers - friends for the stay, whether it's an hour or three), and the beer selection was enough to keep us ordering. If this place was in a movie, one of three things would be happening here: 1. Some washed out country singer way past his prime is needed for some young gun to fulfill his or her destiny. The washed out fella is nearly passed out at the end of the bar. 2. The FBI is looking for the culprit to a crime/murder/kidnapping. They need the local skinny on some characters. These bartenders know the crowd and have their locals. 3. Some city slicker meets a beautiful and talented significant other and is going home to meet all her friends and family. This is the spot where he both meets the friends (and the old boyfriend, of course) and where he goes at the end to win her back (after the ever so obvious "lose" her scene). It's a local place with awesome atmosphere. There are plenty of bar games, friendly bartenders, and interesting people. With that said, this is totally a dive bar/burger joint. The food is nothing mind blowing, but it is tasty! Beer is cheap! No taps, plenty of bottle/can choices. Food was also cheap. Lucky's Burger Shack was a bit out of the way for us, but my husband was craving a burger and the reviews made Lucky's hop to the top of our list. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer. The nachos were great! We loved the queso and the amount of toppings. My only critique of the nachos would be that there weren't enough! For the price, I'd expect a big more; but they were still really good! We ordered the buffalo burger with tots, chicken fingers with a side salad, and the mini corn dog kid's meal. The buffalo burger was good, but not spicy at all. We definitely would have preferred it to be more spicy. The chicken fingers were DELICIOUS. They were so tender and the honey mustard that they were served with was good. The side salad was a bit slimy at the bottom and I can only guess that it was made ahead of time and left to sit until needed. The french fries were SO good. They were my favorite part of the meal. I'd definitely order the chicken fingers again but we'd probably not get the side salad or buffalo burger in the future and would opt to try a different type of burger. If you're checking out the menu for the restaurant, be sure to check their website. We looked at another website before visiting and the prices were WAY off. We paid $71 for an appetizer, 2 adult meals, 1 kid's meal, and a few beers... but you can't beat $2.25 beers. The restaurant was very busy and loud, but that was to be expected. Right off Interstate 26, which was very convenient. We were there right at lunchtime, and the place was hoppin'. We were seated immediately, and waitress took our drink order. Came back in just a few minutes and took our food order. Food came out in 10 to 15 minutes. My wife and I both got burgers. Meat was hanging off bun a couple of inches all around.
