Better than expected! Wings & Ale was able to accommodate our VERY large group on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance was super casual, with dim lighting, TV screens for sports, and pool tables. Our servers were incredibly friendly and expertly handled the many orders, separate bills, and people arriving and leaving at different times. For food, my boyfriend and I ordered a bunch of wings to share - the Buffalo Boneless Wings, Spicy Honey BBQ Wings, and Kickin Bourbon Molasses Wings. The wings weren't life changing, but got the job done! Our favorite was the Kickin Bourbon Molasses, but all three were pretty good. This place has been my ONLY place for wings for 20 plus years -- always got delicious, crispy wings and not drowned in sauce; however, after not going there for quite a while, decided I needed some good wings. Well, what a disappointment!!! The wings were not crispy at all and not browned. We sent them back and asked for CRISPY wings. Got them back burned but still not crispy. I have never left a wing uneaten before but there were many leftover and didn't ask for a box!! It was like the grease wasn't getting hot enough or the cook was clueless. I've written a paper. I've people watched. 1. It's a GIANT hole in the wall. The place is huge, but it's not fancy. You can play pool, watch sports, sit at the bar and chat, etc. 2. The drinks are cheap and who doesn't love a good bourbon/coke after a long day. 3. This is like a melody of people. Some old, some young, some black, some white, some country, some city, etc. My friend once played Hamilton on the Juke Box and me and some random man sang Angelica Schuyler's song Satisfied. 4. The food is almost always a 9-10. I always get the wings and though the prices have gone up, the size of the wings have not and how many businesses can say that? 5. They have different events. The manager or Owner wrote me back and said they cleaned the smoke out and its non smoking. I wanted so much to show my wife this place since I grow up coming here and it was awesome. I was afraid there was no way they could get all the smoke out. I WAS WRONG!!!! I took my wife here. It was awesome and it looks almost the same when i was coming here in the 80's. Today was my first day going to Wings and Ale for lunch in over 5+ years and not sure when I will go back. We arrived at 11:50 pm and ordered at 12pm, received our food at 1:10 pm. The hamburgers 3 people ordered looked awesome, and they said tasted awesome. I ordered the lunch Wing Special and was quite shocked when I saw the wings. They looked like they came off a baby chick. They are the smallest wings I have ever been served at a restaurant. I requested my fries be seasoned and they looked and tasted like they poured the whole container of seasoning salt on them. Now, the last freaking thing I want to eat is a slimy chicken wing, so I asked for them to be "well done" or "crispy." They came out overcooked -- this was my mistake. I think we wing eaters should demand some accountability from our wingmasters on the nomenclature for a well-done wing. This, of course, is not the fault of Wings & Ale. But an agreed-upon vocabulary should be standardized. Is there a governing body? But I digress... So if you order your wings "crispy," be aware that they might come our very crispy, and possibly too crispy. Now to the service. It was quite adequate and efficient. It should be notes I came rather late in the evening on an gameday Sunday. Parts of the restaurant were a wreck! The bartender was running around like crazy! But she had a great attitude and was almost surprisingly attentive considering the demands put upon her from the late-evening-on-a-gameday-Sunday crowd (i.e. they were drunk, they were loud, they wanted shots. But not all at once. One group wanted shots, then another wanted shots. Then an old man who said he was supposed to have left an hour earlier. The wings are what they are known for but last night, I decided to try the shrimp platter and was pleased with my decision. My food was fresh, hot and delicious! Went here tonight after work with friends to shoot pool and grab a meal. The service was terrible to say the least. We were in the pool area and the waitress never came to take our orders, while servicing everyone else in the area multiple times. We elected to send someone to the bar to order to avoid a longer wait. It took over an hour to receive our food and it came out extremely cold and not seasoned well. The place was dirty and no one took the time to clean the table after parties departed. The juke box also has all African American music removed. Needless to say, we will never return. Our go to favors are teriyaki hot, sweet chili, and spicy honey bbq. I went there yesterday with a friend and we ordered a beer, wings chips and hot chichen strips. The wing chips we loaded with grease laying on them, unable to eat. The chichen strips were deep fried chichen nuggets that had been in grease, over fried and no bbq hot sauce. It was the worse I have ever had anywhere. We suggested to 3 friends to come here and play pool. Hours are clearly listed as 12AM for Saturday. We came into the establishment around 10:20PM, went to the pool area and ordered food around 10:40PM thinking we were going to play pool and snack on some wings. Service was kinda slow and they weren't busy. I got a chef salad which was big and good, however the salad only arrived with one salad dressing for a big salad. I asked the waitress for another dressing as the salad was big. She said Oh Yes and brought another dressing. Then we got our check and there's a 50 cent charge for another dressing!! We wanted different foods and neither of us was sure what we were in the mood to eat so we chose Wings & Ale since they have a nice menu of various options. They can be a bit to find as they are in the back of the "strip mall/business area". You have to look for the sign when you drive in off Bush River Road. They were not overly full at all and we chose a table and sat down. There was no hostess and the sign said to take a seat. One of the servers or a bartender - not sure, came immediately with menus and took our drink order. Our server quickly appeared and delivered our drinks! We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They arrived promptly while we waited for our main dishes to arrive. We ordered lemon pepper wings and a philly cheese steak wit a salad. The salad was a side salad and the size expected and it had a nice array of toppings - cucumber, onion, tomato, cheese and croutons. Dressing was provided as requested on the side. The wings arrived with the philly steak and it was delicious. The steak sandwich was a good portion and it had onions and peppers, cheese and a generous portion of meat. When our server delivered the food, he then brought the condiments and such since they have removed everything from the tables and use plastic utensils - currently. However, we did not have to ask for these things. The wings had the ranch dressing as requested and they were also very tasty - very hot and fresh and crispy but not overly so. Just the way we like the wings. Many places leave the wings too soggy and not crispy and you would have to have them extra fried but we had no problem here with the wings. We requested all fats and all flats arrived! The server kept our drinks refilled and stopped back to check on us a few times. It was increasing in volume for dinner but our server did a great job of keeping every table taken care of from what we could see. Very pleased with the food server and price.
