Better than expected! Wings & Ale was able to accommodate our VERY large group on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance was super casual, with dim lighting, TV screens for sports, and pool tables. Our servers were incredibly friendly and expertly handled the many orders, separate bills, and people arriving and leaving at different times. For food, my boyfriend and I ordered a bunch of wings to share - the Buffalo Boneless Wings, Spicy Honey BBQ Wings, and Kickin Bourbon Molasses Wings. The wings weren't life changing, but got the job done! Our favorite was the Kickin Bourbon Molasses, but all three were pretty good. Overall would recommend, mostly for the attentive staff!

Hot teriyaki wings on left- attempted suicide on right.

Wings were not good. Outside was overdone and dry. Inside was tough. The att. Suicide sauce is very good. The hot teriyaki not so good. Side salad was good and service was good.

Have you ever been to one of those places where you just don't care if the wait is long or the service is slow or the floor cleanliness is questionable? It's like the Waffle House blow up on Twitter. Waffle House is to Waffles as Wings and Ale is to wings. I love this place. I can go in sweats, jeans, dress, sandals, heels, whatever and no one bats an eye. I have gone and read a book for class. I've written a paper. I've people watched. 1. It's a GIANT hole in the wall. The place is huge, but it's not fancy. You can play pool, watch sports, sit at the bar and chat, etc. 2. The drinks are cheap and who doesn't love a good bourbon/coke after a long day. 3. This is like a melody of people. Some old, some young, some black, some white, some country, some city, etc. My friend once played Hamilton on the Juke Box and me and some random man sang Angelica Schuyler's song Satisfied. 4. The food is almost always a 9-10. I always get the wings and though the prices have gone up, the size of the wings have not and how many businesses can say that? 5. They have different events. I enjoy music bingo. 6. The bartenders are fabulous.

Service was great. Food was meh, I wasn't too impressed, which surprised me after reading all the positive reviews. Draft beer was flat too.

Pawleys Front Porch is a dive bar, and has been featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened, and were the first to arrive. Even after us being in the restaurant for an hour, only two other parties arrived to dine. It honestly felt like a ghost town, and hope that it is not like this every day. Their fried pickles are actually pretty good! They are crispy, hot, and have a good dill taste (good pickles). The chicken tenders are good! They aren't frozen, are crispy, and have good taste. The burger was supposed to come with a pretzel bun, but apparently they haven't had a pretzel bun in three years lol. Why is it still on the menu? We don't know. His burger was a bit overcooked and toppings weren't quite as high quality as last time. Our server was wonderful, and constantly came around to refill our drinks and get us anything we need. It did take a bit of a long time for our food to come out, but that's alright. As long as the food is good we don't mind. We hope to see the restaurant return back to how good it used to be!

We waited an hour or more because they said there was only one cook. We got our burgers (ordered medium) and they were completely overcooked. I wondered if mine was even beef. I stabbed the meat with my plastic knife and lifted the whole rock solid patty puck. Cocktail was decent and they stock Fever Tree ginger beer so stay with the cocktails.

Some call it a dive bar, some are more generous; are there sticky tables, servers with tattoos, a busy bar were suds and cheaper whiskey prevail, and original paint? You bet! Let's get to the food. Lucky's menu features a variety of burgers, salads, wings, hotdogs and sides. Don't expect beer on tap, but an extensive selection of bottled beer should satisfy most folks. We ordered a Black and Blu burger with onion straws and a patty melt with fries. From the time we walked in until our food arrived probably took about 25 minutes. That was our own fault as we took way too long deciding what to order. When our food arrived, I immediately dug into the well constructed burger. I could barely open my mouth wide enough. And the taste? Very tasty. My wife enjoyed her patty melt--a burger on marbled rye with cheese and cooked onions that holds up surprisingly well! My onion straws were crunchy and sweet. Fries weren't great, but all in all an enjoyable burger experience. Oh, did I mention entertainment? Well on Tuesdays you can grab a free bingo card and try your luck winning a gift card!
