I have been eating/drinking at Wings and Ale for many years and have always had great food and service.

This place was blasting games so loud today for the NFL games it was distorted beyond recognition and they would not even adjust it even a little. Time for a new system guys!! Left with a migraine read more

While the food was delicious... my fiancé arrived 20 mins earlier than I did, she said several bartenders blatantly ignored her. So much so that when I arrived she d/n even have a glass of water. Truly disappointed read more

Better than expected! Wings & Ale was able to accommodate our VERY large group on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance was super casual, with dim lighting, TV screens for sports, and pool tables. Our servers were incredibly friendly and expertly handled the many orders, separate bills, and people arriving and leaving at different times. For food, my boyfriend and I ordered a bunch of wings to share - the Buffalo Boneless Wings, Spicy Honey BBQ Wings, and Kickin Bourbon Molasses Wings. The wings weren't life changing, but got the job done! Our favorite was the Kickin Bourbon Molasses, but all three were pretty good. Overall would recommend, mostly for the attentive staff! read more

This place has been my ONLY place for wings for 20 plus years -- always got delicious, crispy wings and not drowned in sauce; however, after not going there for quite a while, decided I needed some good wings. Well, what a disappointment!!! The wings were not crispy at all and not browned. We sent them back and asked for CRISPY wings. Got them back burned but still not crispy. I have never left a wing uneaten before but there were many leftover and didn't ask for a box!! It was like the grease wasn't getting hot enough or the cook was clueless. The lady close to us sent her wings back TWO times for the same reason. I hope they get their act together so I can get my fill of delicious crispy wings. read more

nice place to chill and great wings and drinks. I've been here several times. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. A mature place to hang. read more

Have you ever been to one of those places where you just don't care if the wait is long or the service is slow or the floor cleanliness is questionable? It's like the Waffle House blow up on Twitter. Waffle House is to Waffles as Wings and Ale is to wings. I love this place. I can go in sweats, jeans, dress, sandals, heels, whatever and no one bats an eye. I have gone and read a book for class. I've written a paper. I've people watched. 1. It's a GIANT hole in the wall. The place is huge, but it's not fancy. You can play pool, watch sports, sit at the bar and chat, etc. 2. The drinks are cheap and who doesn't love a good bourbon/coke after a long day. 3. This is like a melody of people. Some old, some young, some black, some white, some country, some city, etc. My friend once played Hamilton on the Juke Box and me and some random man sang Angelica Schuyler's song Satisfied. 4. The food is almost always a 9-10. I always get the wings and though the prices have gone up, the size of the wings have not and how many businesses can say that? 5. They have different events. I enjoy music bingo. 6. The bartenders are fabulous. read more

Still awesome!!!!!! I'm so glad they went smoke free Wow!!!!! Nice!!!!!! My earlier review was only one star because the cigarette smoke was so bad I couldn't stay. The manager or Owner wrote me back and said they cleaned the smoke out and its non smoking. I wanted so much to show my wife this place since I grow up coming here and it was awesome. I was afraid there was no way they could get all the smoke out. I WAS WRONG!!!! I took my wife here. It was awesome and it looks almost the same when i was coming here in the 80's. Brings back memories. The food was amazing. Our waitress was fantastic. I'm a retired Flight Paramedic and have reunion with all the nurse, paramedic and physician we worked with. I think my next reunion will be here. Thanks for letting me know things have changed. I be back. Old review........... I wanted to go here because I remember when I was younger we came here and the wings were great. unfortunately my wife and I walked in the building it reeked of cigarette smoke we tried in several different location to sit where it wasn't so bad and it was impossible so we end up leaving the whole building read more

Today was my first day going to Wings and Ale for lunch in over 5+ years and not sure when I will go back. We arrived at 11:50 pm and ordered at 12pm, received our food at 1:10 pm. The hamburgers 3 people ordered looked awesome, and they said tasted awesome. I ordered the lunch Wing Special and was quite shocked when I saw the wings. They looked like they came off a baby chick. They are the smallest wings I have ever been served at a restaurant. I requested my fries be seasoned and they looked and tasted like they poured the whole container of seasoning salt on them. They use to have the best wings in town. Disappointed! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. As for the Ambiance, its time to either tear the carpet out of that place, or have it cleaned. When you walk, your shoes stick to the floor. read more

Terrible boneless wings. Our waitress never came back after the food was served. Loud.

Love it here. The teriyaki wings was delicious. I love them crispy and that's how they made them. I also love the wing chips which are Thinly slice potato slices fry crispy with a soft center. That's the order I get every time I go. read more

Wigs yes best in town but anything else be ready to tear your mouth up. The fried mushrooms and Omar's was so hard that my gums started hurting. you seat yourself which is fine. Even the older ladies next to me complained about the slowness. read more

Wings & Ale - The food is shit - Chicken Wings Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

I didn't have wings because that is what they are famous for. So I went with the burger special and had a patty melt. Freshly made and delicious! It had been a while since I have been to wings and ale. Now all I can do is ask why have I waited so long to go back! My waitress, Trika Epperson, was very helpful and polite. Ask for her by name. Did have a chance to play but they had some pool tables that looked in good condition. read more

Best wings and bar food in Lexington! Always good, and they take to go orders!! Unlike some!

My search for the best wings in Columbia, led me to Wings & Ale. After all, wings is in the name! And this place delivered. Big time! I got the wing sampler -- 20 wings, four flavors. Now, the last freaking thing I want to eat is a slimy chicken wing, so I asked for them to be "well done" or "crispy." They came out overcooked -- this was my mistake. I think we wing eaters should demand some accountability from our wingmasters on the nomenclature for a well-done wing. This, of course, is not the fault of Wings & Ale. But an agreed-upon vocabulary should be standardized. Is there a governing body? But I digress... So if you order your wings "crispy," be aware that they might come our very crispy, and possibly too crispy. Now to the service. It was quite adequate and efficient. It should be notes I came rather late in the evening on an gameday Sunday. Parts of the restaurant were a wreck! The bartender was running around like crazy! But she had a great attitude and was almost surprisingly attentive considering the demands put upon her from the late-evening-on-a-gameday-Sunday crowd (i.e. they were drunk, they were loud, they wanted shots. But not all at once. One group wanted shots, then another wanted shots. Then an old man who said he was supposed to have left an hour earlier. Then the first group again, etc.) I would caution you to be patient when visiting Wing & Ale. I would suggest the following attitude upon entering: we're here to enjoy ourselves, take our time, and have some of the best wings in town. read more

Wings and Ale is one of my favorite wings spots in Columbia. The service and food is always good! I have never had a bad meal at this place. The wings are what they are known for but last night, I decided to try the shrimp platter and was pleased with my decision. My food was fresh, hot and delicious! The only condiment I wish they would have provided is some cocktail sauce. Drinks are are good and well priced! You can come here and have a great night without breaking the bank! read more

Went here tonight after work with friends to shoot pool and grab a meal. The service was terrible to say the least. We were in the pool area and the waitress never came to take our orders, while servicing everyone else in the area multiple times. We elected to send someone to the bar to order to avoid a longer wait. It took over an hour to receive our food and it came out extremely cold and not seasoned well. The place was dirty and no one took the time to clean the table after parties departed. The juke box also has all African American music removed. Needless to say, we will never return. This place is poorly managed and needs to be closed. read more

Wings and Ale is top 2 wings joints in Columbia... honestly it doesn't get much better. The service is quick and friendly and the wings are just flat out good. Our go to favors are teriyaki hot, sweet chili, and spicy honey bbq. The reason these wings are good is bc they come out crispy... nothing worse than a floppy soggy wing (shakes head in disappointment). But don't worry, you won't get those here. Oh and yes, team flats all day baby. Also, the onion rings are a problem (in the best way). They come with a spicy honey mustard dip... whoa, who knew this combo would be the one, but it is. Do yourself a flavor and try it! read more

Menu is way outdated on various sites, so please very prices before ordering on the phone. We recently order 50 wings, and no price was verified over the phone which was our mistake. But upon arrival, the waitress said our total was $80 for just 50 wings and the online memu price was 49.99. I get inflation but I dont... read more

I went there yesterday with a friend and we ordered a beer, wings chips and hot chichen strips. The wing chips we loaded with grease laying on them, unable to eat. The chichen strips were deep fried chichen nuggets that had been in grease, over fried and no bbq hot sauce. It was the worse I have ever had anywhere. Bartender never asked us how they were and I would have never served them. I paid our 28.00 bill for nothing but will not frequent the place again. Used to be a good place to Go. read more

Me & my girlfriend went here because we seen a menu online that showed they had wings a really good price but unfortunately we couldn't try them & the price of the wings went up. We stood in the lobby watching & waiting for a hello or anything or to maybe be seated but after 10 mins I finally nicely asked a worker & he told me to just find a seat. After sitting for another 10 mins a waitress finally came but unfortunately we were already in the motion of getting up & grabbing our things. The restaurant is behind a shopping center & was svery sketchy. The inside the restaurant was nothing special it was dark with a lot of tables, some pools tables, & a bar. Idk how the food taste though so I'm not gonna comment but the menu did have variety. read more

We suggested to 3 friends to come here and play pool. Hours are clearly listed as 12AM for Saturday. We came into the establishment around 10:20PM, went to the pool area and ordered food around 10:40PM thinking we were going to play pool and snack on some wings. As soon as we got our food, they came down and turned off all the lights in the pool room and told us we had 5 minutes left. So we just ate in the dark. Well excuse me, he let us keep our pool table light on. Lol. The bartender was nice, the waitress was nice when she knew I was pissed. The door man... Terrible. He was very rude. Let's not forget to add that they never told us that they were going to close when we ordered food, they added a 18% gratuity on our checks for being a party of 5 when we all had separate checks... all to play 2 games of pool and eat our $100 worth of food in the dark. read more

We tried this place because we saw a music bingo event posted on their Facebook page. We got there and there was no bingo event that night! We stayed anyway. Service was kinda slow and they weren't busy. I got a chef salad which was big and good, however the salad only arrived with one salad dressing for a big salad. I asked the waitress for another dressing as the salad was big. She said Oh Yes and brought another dressing. Then we got our check and there's a 50 cent charge for another dressing!! If you're gonna sell a big salad, it should include enough dressing. And if you're gonna charge for another dressing the waitress should mention that!! read more

We wanted different foods and neither of us was sure what we were in the mood to eat so we chose Wings & Ale since they have a nice menu of various options. They can be a bit to find as they are in the back of the "strip mall/business area". You have to look for the sign when you drive in off Bush River Road. They were not overly full at all and we chose a table and sat down. There was no hostess and the sign said to take a seat. One of the servers or a bartender - not sure, came immediately with menus and took our drink order. Our server quickly appeared and delivered our drinks! We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They arrived promptly while we waited for our main dishes to arrive. We ordered lemon pepper wings and a philly cheese steak wit a salad. The salad was a side salad and the size expected and it had a nice array of toppings - cucumber, onion, tomato, cheese and croutons. Dressing was provided as requested on the side. The wings arrived with the philly steak and it was delicious. The steak sandwich was a good portion and it had onions and peppers, cheese and a generous portion of meat. When our server delivered the food, he then brought the condiments and such since they have removed everything from the tables and use plastic utensils - currently. However, we did not have to ask for these things. The wings had the ranch dressing as requested and they were also very tasty - very hot and fresh and crispy but not overly so. Just the way we like the wings. Many places leave the wings too soggy and not crispy and you would have to have them extra fried but we had no problem here with the wings. We requested all fats and all flats arrived! The server kept our drinks refilled and stopped back to check on us a few times. It was increasing in volume for dinner but our server did a great job of keeping every table taken care of from what we could see. Very pleased with the food server and price. We would recommend and we will be back. read more
