Second time here and honestly it was a miss on the service and food was good but not a home run. Giving benefit of the doubt with the number of festivals and events happening, the service was a 2.8 at most out of 5 due to limited staff. Our waitress was sweet but you could tell she was screaming for assistant and help. Several tables needed bussing in and outside and the bathroom needed a serious scrub down as someone's daughter and mom had fun with a brown crayon following dinner. Hubby and I were eager to try some more options again but advised a lot of the items were out. Mr. Foodie settled on a classic burger while I got the Greek. Very tasty medium burger with Greek veggies, toasted bun and side of tzatziki sauce. Burger actually good and paired well with fries. Sauce could be blended more with the yogurt but great addition. Hubby said burger was good just needed more sauce. Not giving up on it as an option but definitely not a first choice. read more

Several times we've been there we've been given some random excuse why they can't serve food. Service is awful. They prefer that you leave asap so they don't have to deal with you. Burger Tavern 77 was a mixture of good and alright. The ambiance and atmosphere were relatively cool. It was basically your average burger joint with a splash of personality mixed in. The wait staff was very kind but also inattentive. I don't think it was their fault personally; I just think that they were understaffed. Nevertheless, it would have been nice to have been seated a little bit quicker and to have been checked on a little less sporadically. As for the food and drink, it was pretty average. I got the chicken tenders and fries, which were fine but not notable in any way. In addition, I was not particularly impressed with their selection of seltzers, which was sorely lacking. All in all, Burger Tavern 77 was a pretty basic burger joint, with some good and some bad mixed together. I wouldn't be averse to returning in the future, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list either. read more

I've eaten here twice and the service has always been great! Both times we dined here were at dinner time and there wasn't a wait. It wouldn't be my go to for a burger, but would visit again if in the area and it was convenient. Burgers are large Patty size. We asked for medium for all the burgers, they were a bit undercooked. Kids sliders were a good portion size. Fries, are fries...so that was easy enough. Feels a bit overpriced for a mediocre burger. Nice beer selection and plenty of tvs. read more

The outside of the place is welcoming. Based on the chairs and table locations, you can tell this place is ready to serve during football season. Upon entering, I went to the bar located in the back of the restaurant to pick up my to-go order. Because I ordered by phone, they instructed me to go straight to the bar for pickup. There weren't too many people there on a Wednesday night. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, not too loud. The staff was friendly, making sure the order was correct and advising where to locate the additional condiments in the bag. The turkey burger was so juicy. I don't think I've had a turkey burger like theirs in Columbia. I have to say, this is the best place for a turkey burger so far. I like how you can build your burger to your liking. Yes, they have burgers you can order from the menu, but where's the fun in that? Oh, the side! I have never had a great pasta salad, but tonight this restaurant showed out. The food here is great! Awesome! The French Onion Burger was cooked to my satisfaction. The meat has great flavor. The charbroil flavor really comes through. Their garlic aoili is made in-house. It's better than mayo. My wife is vegetarian and found plenty of options. SOB cheese sticks were great. 27 draft beers to choose from. They have a good variety. Our waitress has been there 3 years and was on-target with timing and pre-dressing the table with condiments. The music was 70s and 80s. It was a great, casual atmosphere. 5 stars here. We're passing through town and this cute little burger tavern on the corner caught my eye so we stopped for an early dinner / happy hour. I'm so glad we did! The outside seating was so nice and refreshing. Inside was a little crowded but not too loud... the table behind me and I couldn't push our chairs back at the same time kind of crowded. The host and waiter were both super nice and friendly. I had a million questions and the waiter hit them all. The beer on tap was on a fancy QR code that I couldn't figure out and he was very polite in explaining to me haha The burgers were all fantastic! I don't remember the cute names but we had the classic, black bean, Charleston and Santa Fe. All were cooked how we wanted - mine mid rare of course! Fries were okay, nothing to write about, but they had other options if you wanted them. I loved my beer and my picky husband enjoyed his old fashioned and couldn't believe it was only $6!! Awesome burgers. My wife's had the Charleston and I had the Greek. Good sized patty both were cooked perfectly and had a great grilled flavor! My draft Yuengling was very cold, which to me is a very good thing. They do have an extensive mule drink listing which I am looking forward to sampling. Not too busy for a late lunch on Saturday 5/20/23, I think we got there a little after 1pm, but limited parking. Just looking at the parking lot almost full we almost drove away thinking it was going to be too crowded, but is was surprising to us that it was a lite crowd. Glad we didn't drive away. I am going to give this review a neutral three star because I came to the establishment picking up a DoorDash order. And this review is not based upon the food, but based upon the service that I encountered. The time is it was around 12:05 on Memorial Day. I was advised by the hostess to go to the bar to receive the order. The bartender was taken order of two customers that were sitting at the bar and I stood there patiently after about three minutes another male Customer walked up, and the bartender chose to disregard me standing there and he did see me standing there and go take the order of the customer that had just walked up. I cannot state this is actions were intentional however what I can state is that it felt that way on my end regardless if he assumed that I was picking up a DoorDash order I am reflective of a customer that is doing business with the establishment, and she receives the same type of respect. I graciously walked over to the hostess and explained that because the bartender deliberately ignored me I would prefer that she alerted me when the order was ready, and I would sit at the bench by the door, I have no patience or respect that type of disrespect. read more

We have eaten here several times. Both my bride an I are self employed, so it's not unusual for us to snag dinner around 8pm. I try to avoid 77 when it's after 8 because I always feel rushed. The staff seems ready to clean up and go home. The food here is really good. They have a nice bar in the back and a good selection of beer on tap. Unlike Backstreet's across the road, 77 is not interested in developing business after 8pm. It's a shame, they have the look and feel of a late night place. The two stars is for the rush. Customers beware. Visited burger tavern 77 on 8/16. A couple of days later I noticed that my credit card was charged 5 time for the same meal. I have since called the restaurant 5 times to resolve my issue and each time have been told to call back to speak to the next higher manager. First the manager, then the General Manager then the owner. After calling back to speak to the owner I was asked to call someone named Blane. Of course Blane's phone goes right to voicemail. Customers should not have to run around trying to resolve this. This is a horrible place of business. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

The whole place is actually a lot bigger than it looks, with an outdoor seating area and bar towards the back. This place is a must when craving a burger In Columbia, SC. I got the Sante fe burger that included ghost pepper jack, fried jalapeños, a chipotle mayo, and guacamole. The combination of flavors was nothing short of magical. Garrett was our server who gave off an incredible vibe along with phenomenal service as he was attentive, helpful, and quick. Burgers were very good (we built our own) and their sauce game was on point, so many to choose from! I made a burger similar to the Charleston and got the Roasted Pepper Garlic sauce, so good! We really love the food here but today was our last visit. You can almost bet 7 out of 10 visits they aren't going to have cheese sticks. It's a Friday night...the weekend and you are out of an appetizer you are known for. Last time the excuse was the person who makes them is off. So why don't you MAKE MORE!!!
