just had the worst experience I have ever had at Rush's. I live 2 miles away from the store and when I tasted my burger it was cold as ice and had to warm it in the microwave. It's been over a year since I've eaten at Rush's. For some reason I decided to give it a try again. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was better than I expected. I had a burger basket. The fries were "hot" which seems a difficult thing for many fast food places to serve. The coleslaw was okay a little soupy. And the burger was pretty good the lettuce was crisp the tomatoes actually had some flavor and the burger was tasty Definitely better than McDonalds BK or Wendy's read more

New to the area and addicted to this place. Reminds me of a restaurant back home in STL. We had the chicken basket w cole slaw and fries and a Jr cheeseburger basket. Service was prompt and were i ever our food fast both times we visited. The 1st time we went we dined in and we were greeted w smiles and fast service. Dining room was clean and looked like they had someone cleaning around the clock. The Apple turnover has me in a chokehold, get it! It's light, flakey and not too sweet and pairs well w ice cream. Stopped by here yesterday (10/23/21) on the way to the beach. Lunchtime and it was packed. But even with all the customers, it cleared out quick. These folks know how to get you in and out fast! Ordered the double cheeseburger and fried basket as I wouldn't be eating dinner. Oh my gosh it was a great burger. Very juicy and the combination of mustard, onions and pickles put this burger over the top. Every bite was great! The fries were crispy on the outside and hot on the inside. And the slaw was off the chain!!!! I'm very glad my friend recommended this place. Will definitely be back on the way home next Saturday. read more

Rush's is a charmingly nostalgic local chain that reflects the golden age of fast food. The decor is simple and yet quaint, and the food imbibes the principle of "Good food, fast." (Their motto is actually "Fabulous food... fast!", and they definitely live up to it!) The fries were hot and fresh and the burger could only be described as what McDonald's must have tasted like back when they actually cared about their food. When I moved back to SC one of the things that excited me was having access to Rushs. Every. Single. Day. We popped into this location for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. My burger was perfect. If the cheese isn't slightly melted to the wrapper then I usually won't like it. It's a little quirky of mine but it hasn't failed me. My cheese was melted. Perfectly. Boys loved their jr burgers and fries. And we ended our meal with milkshakes. Perfect lunch at my favorite local fast food burger joint. read more

Besides the difficult entry and exit, the quality of their burgers has sadly gone downhill. Lately, the buns have not been fresh. But the main problem is how the burgers are assembled. Rather than putting the mayo on the top bun along with the toppings, they now put the mayo on the bottom bun, which results in a gross watery mess due to the temperature of the meat. Fond memories of Rush's. Sorry I can't give a better review. Eaten at this location several times over the years; the most recent time this past Friday while traveling through town toward Charleston. Before last Friday, it had probably been five years. First, I'm incredibly hard to impress with a burger. They are probably my favorite food. Having said that, Rush's burger was very good. They always have been. If there is such a thing as the right proportion of meat to toppings to condiments...Rush's does it right. My fries though? Way too salty. Go easier on the salt shaker! We were there a little after about 1, and we probably left within 20-30 minutes. It was moderately busy. The bathroom was nasty. Evidence suggested someone checked it at 1pm, but I think they just signed the sheet. The area on the floor around the urinal was totally gross...and the sink area may as well have been outside in the rain. Left not wanting to touch more than I had to... But...as always...next time I'm in Columbia I'll be stopping by. read more

Can you say chocolate shake? I was in Cola for work. A group of colleagues grabbed dinner, did a little shopping, and then had to top the evening off with a chocolate shake. It's smooth and creamy and delicious. Keep in mind this isn't a shake from one of those plastic bags like you see at those other places. This is a real shake, made fresh just for you. Yum yum. The store is clean, the employees are friendly, and they're lightning fast. If you like burger and shake joints, you'll appreciate Rush's. read more

Took my daughter here after a day of shopping since she had never been to Rush's I thought I would show her where I would eat sometimes as a kid and enjoyed it. She had a fried chicken leg basket and I had a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. It was slow around 4pm before the dinner rush so the food came out relatively fast. Staff was friendly and even brought our order to us as we waited at a table. I would like to see combos and more specials instead of having to purchase drinks separately as this order totaled $18.13 for 2 people. I would also appreciate an update to the decor. I know it may be nostalgic for some but to me it is dated and in need of a redesign. If you are willing to pay a little more to experience this local chain then I would suggest giving it a try. read more

Rushs is. A must stop. Formerly a drive in chain the 50s the food is now served fast and tasty. The fries are nothing to write home about but the burgers and fried chicken are good. It's fast casual and the service is quick even if the line is long. read more

Met my college roommate and her husband here as we were heading down to the coast for a reunion of longtime friends. They have eaten here several times but I was new to it. It's pretty standard convenience restaurant fare: sandwiches, burgers, fries, BBQ. I selected the slaw dog basket which had french fries. All hot dogs come with their special, in house chili, but I opted out of that and there was no problem with that simple change. My dining companions all had the burger and a juicer, delicious "mess" I have never seen. Place your order at the counter, collect your utensils and condiments and wait for your name to be called. We had a booth in a corner with windows on two walls, so plenty of lighting. Despite being something of a fast food restaurant, it was not noisy. The prices are in keeping with similar types of restaurants. The counter staff were cordial but not overly friendly. The bathroom was clean. There is ample parking in the restaurant's lot, but be aware of the drive thru traffic. We had a good meal at a reasonable price, a nice conversation with friends, and headed on our way refreshed and satiated. Should we be back in the area, we'll choose Rush's again. The only reason for the 3 stars is because nothing made Rush's a stand out among fast food restaurants. read more
