They used to be my number one place to go. The food was great and the service is excellent but something changed the servers isn't that great sometimes and the Reese milkshake they have advertised in the front yard. I have tried to order it five different times the first time the machine was being clean and the next 4 times the machine was just down so why don't you take the sign up out the yard? Normally our family does not visit fast food fried chicken establishments. When I walked in, I was afraid we had made a mistake. The only item on the menu I could eat was a salad containing fried chicken, fried onions and croutons (I am gluten free). I had resigned myself to a pitiful protein less salad when the employee informed me that they had grilled chicken and yes, they could leave off the other items. My salad had fresh (real) lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, grilled chicken, cheese and a pepper. It was very good for a salad at a fast food restaurant. This time, they screwed up my wings (rubbery, almost as if they were undercooked), and completely left out the Texas toast from my meal. I'm not going to lie. I thought this place was going to be overrated. Also, I have tried to visit Slim Chickens in the past, but the line was so long that I just left. I was in the area one evening and decided to give that visit another try. My expectations were low given the time of the evening. There was not a line in either lane, but there were a few cars. They have a very interesting menu and a good selection. I guess it's the sauces.  I ordered the chick's meal. It came with French fries, three tenders, and a slice of toast. It's very similar to PDQ mixed with Raising Cane's, with a twist. There was a bit of a wait. I assumed they made the food fresh, but it was so late that I was doubtful that I would get fresh food. However, when I received my meal, it was fresh, which surprised me. The chicken tenders were good. They were tender for the most part, but with a light crunch. The breading was seasoned well. The fries were good. The toast was really good too! There was a hint of sweetness in the buttered toast. The sauces had a delicious flavor. Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness at that hour. Also, the customer service was pretty standard. If I'm looking for a drive-thru meal, or lunch and I'm in the area again, I'll stop and give them another try, maybe with different sauces. I really didn't know what to expect from this place. It was nice and bright on the inside. It had a good vibe decor wise. The menu didn't stray too much from what they are experts at ( chicken tenders). I got the tender cayenne Mac & Cheese bowl. My husband got the wrap. We loved our meals! The cheese sauce on mine was creamy and cheesy. The chicken was bite sized and it was garnished with fried onions and green onions. His wrap was good as well. We took home a 3 tender order for us and our pooch. She loved the chicken. We thought it was as good as or slightly better than Raising Canes. We also got 2 dessert jars. Mine was a brownie parfait w chocolate covered toffee pieces and his was a brownie parfait w cookie dough bites. Both were great but in my option a bit over priced at $6.99. Nice little unexpected surprise on the way to Congaree National Park today. When we came we meant to eat just one sandwich and go about our walk with our dog. We went THREE times in a row from the parking lot across the street getting other things. Let's go. Pros and Cons Pros: - The chicken is fresh and made to order. This isn't crispy chicken. This is hot/moist (ew I hate saying that word) chicken. - There's four chicken sandwiches on the menu that are all different. - The chicken wasn't small like Zaxby's is nowadays. - Portions were pretty big for what you pay. - Sauces. They had probably 20 sauces you could get. I had the inferno sauce which wasn't insanely hot. Also, they're made fresh because they come in clear cups. - It wasn't greasy. I ate all three times in a car and never felt like it felt dumb to do that. Cons. - The Slim Sauce tasted like straight mayonnaise to me. So as you can see, I can't wait to go back. This place is a seal of approval from me. It's like if PDQ and Raising Canes had a baby with the arsenal of Zaxby's/Buffalo Wild Wings sauces. That to me ladies and gentlemen, is a winner. read more

Super overrated. When they first opened the line was around the building. So I wanted to see what the hype was about. The fries are the worst thing I ever ate. They were served cold but still tasted pretty bland. Like they were microwaved. The chicken wrap sandwich was basic but also soggy. For $10 I can certainly find better food. I did not know what to expect. We never had heard of these drive thru or sit downs and this place was pretty cool. Counter help was nice and patient because I had no idea what to eat. So many chicken choices. Boys loved the tenders, and the chicken sandwich was good. Everything cooked to order. Decent priced like a chik fil a but but always open. First time trying this restaurant. No one in drive thru. The young lady cashier, Nitesha W., was very patient and cheerful. The whole drive thru process only took maybe 8 min. 37. 46 for 3 of us. 2 slim Pickens meals and 2 waffles. The outside appearance was clean and well kept. I did not try the waffles. Chicken fingers were very good. But I got Buffalo and they forgot my ranch . Boooo. Fries were basic, not great not poor. Toast was yummy. I was supposed to have macaroni instead of fries. So on a schedule of 1 to 10 where 10 is great, I'd give it an 8. Points taken off for no ranch, no Mac n cheese and basic fries. Lol. I would visit this location again if in the area. Decided to try Slim chickens to see what all the hype is about. We waited in their drive-through for about 35 minutes to place an order. The food was decent however it wasn't spectacular. The restaurant is nice on the outside located off of garners ferry Road. The wings were soggy the fries are mediocre and the tenders or slightly average. read more

Arrived at around 11ish drive thru was really long so we went inside. Ordering was a tad confusing with cashier but we managed to get the 5 for 5 without a drink to go. Chicken tenders were best part of the meal along with toasted bread. I wouldn't get the wings again however the garlic parm. flavor was way better than the Korean bbq we tried. Tad overpriced at over 14.00 without a drink, next time I would just stick to chicken tenders with fries. read more

Had to hit it on their opening day! Overall, I think it was a very tasty love child between Zaxby's, PDQ, and Raising Canes. I appreciated their selection of sauces, they messed up my order but quickly fixed it so I can appreciate that. When Slim Chickens opened near me last summer, Garners Ferry Rd Columbia SC) went a few times and the food and service was good. Decided to use the drive through today and all I can say is never again. Only one car in front of me but the service could not have been slower. About 10 minutes. Finally received our food and left. Get home and open the fried mushrooms and was shocked at what they had the nerve to sell. A bunch of tiny greasy UNBREADED mushrooms bunched up in a corner of the box. (as if they were embarrassed) Unappetizing and inedible. Straight into the garbage. Absolute waste of money. Fries and chicken were okay, but not good enough to make up for the wait and mushrooms. My first time eating at Slim Chickens. The store #5609 on Killian Road is new and clean, the young cashier "Jayla" was polite and courteous and not ghetto. I ordered more than I could eat because the menu looked good. The cashier offered to switch fries and give me the fried pickles which was thoughtful. I ordered the 5 tenders and 5 wing deal. The cashier offered dipping sauces for everything I had at no additional charge and the sauces were freshly made not poured out of a jar. Everything took about 5 minutes to prepare. The food was great and I got a to go box for my leftovers. It it not often I get a satisfying meal when I go out and this was filling and satisfying. read more

Received coupon in the mail for a BOGO meal and decided to give Slim Chickens a try. Decided to dine in, the restaurant was neat and clean with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. Ordered the chicken tenders and fries which included garlic bread. The food was delivered quickly and was hot and fresh. Quite good, chicken was tender and seasoned well as were the fries. A nice variety of sauces and drinks available. Happy to find a good place close to home for fast food chicken. read more

I ordered my food and had it delivered. They did not give any of the sauces I ordered. Which I really needed because the chicken was dry (tenders and wings). Hit and miss sometimes the food is 10/10 sometimes not so much tonight the food was a 2 out of five stars. Me and my boyfriend got the slim chicken wraps, they were small and had almost nothing in them, mostly tortilla. Second I asked for okra and got fries. Third we asked for a pumpkin cheesecake dessert jar. The lady asked three times which one and even said "okay the pumpkin one" out loud, we got the pecan one. If they were out of the ingredients they could've said that and we would've completely understood. Are the food before being able to take a picture so take this how you will. Also one time the chicken was so dry I threw out my food. I love slim Chickens but it's becoming more and more disappointing. read more

My wife and I visited this restaurant, on its 2nd day operation. Honestly, the food was okay, but the prices are really high. It was crowded, but I was shocked they had no dry rub options available, as advertised. We tried the Mason jar desserts and they were delicious. I have had nothing but a good experience the two times I have gone to Slim Chickens. The food has always been warm and fresh when I have gotten it and the customer service has always been great! I will say that I find it comical when I see the reviews saying their attitude is this and the attitude is that. I've heard the way a lot of customers talk to these workers and y'all should be ashamed of yourself for even thinking that they have to put up with you.
