Main Restaurant is neat and clean with amazing artwork! Cashiers were nice and helped with selections for a first time. The bathroom could have used some attention. Indoor and outdoor seating and adequate parking. I tried to No heat strips and the medium heat. The no heat was just as it says no heat and not much seasoning however it was hot and fresh. The grease appeared to need changing as the no heat strip was a bit burnt. The medium was not hot but had more of a Cajun dry rub seasoning and was injected with spices also. The fries were seasoned well but were not fresh. Overall a 4/5 and worth a shot. I got 1 slider and 1 strip (that came with a slice of bread) and fries for what would've been $15. I do feel a bit overpriced however the strips are large.
First visit and very impressed. The chicken is super tender and flavorful. Spice level is pretty well described it comes spiced as requested. Service is top-notch friendly and with a smile Restaurant was clean but can get loud if it's busy
Thursday nights in Soda City somehow always turn into a little adventure -- and tonight's adventure ended exactly where it needed to: Dave's Hot Chicken. There's just something about wandering Target aisles, convincing yourself you only came in for one thing, and then rewarding yourself with a late-night chicken tender run. Honestly, Target and hot chicken might be my personal love language. I always go for Hot -- just enough heat to give you that little tingle without taking you out. Flavor first, fire second... but still make it spicy enough to feel something. So tell me... what level do you get?
Actually really good. The quality of the chicken is excellent (one of the best for fast food). The behind the counter workers are genuinely amazing. They are the nicest group of fast food workers that I've interacted with in Columbia. The restaurant itself is very clean and I usually don't have any issues with seating (unless it is lunch time when they are exceptionally busy).
Store was pretty clean and service at the register was great. However, it took a long while to get our food. But, we weren't in a rush, so it was ok especially if that meant it was fresh. 3 of us ordered the tenders, and they were to our specified spice level, and were hot in temp. However, one person received cold nuggets which was very weird for the length of time it took. So, they made them again and they were hot the 2nd time. Everyone was pretty satisfied with their chicken and fries.
Once I walked through the door, the young lady behind the counter looked up and smiled at me like we've known each other for years. Once it was our time to order, she again smiled and greeted us. We informed her that this was our first time so she was really helpful with our ordering. My son and I both got the Dave's #4 with a slider and fries. I didn't mild and he did hot! We were given our receipt and buzzer. We went to sit down. When our buzzer went off, we came to the counter to grab our food. She asked us about sauces and then proceeded to give us all of them to try. The Daves sauce gave me Chick-fil-a sauce vibes. Not exact but kinda. We sat down and ate. It was delicious. The sandwich was piping hot but the fries weren't as hot. Still edible....not cold! The mild was just that but my son also said that the hot wasn't hot either so I guess we will have to move up the spice chain. This establishment is colorful and bright! There were people dining in and picking up orders. Lots of movement. They accept military discount! I'm not on this side of town often but when I come back, I would stop by here again!
Love this place! When i lived in Stl i would go and get their wings which I'm sad they no longer offer but the chicken strips were good! I had the very spicy and it didn't kill me next will try the Reaper!! Service was quick and the place had a nice amount of people in there enjoying their chicken. Tell the cashiers to smile and not look like they hate their job. Girl who gave me my food was super sweet and pleasant. Can't wait to go back!
Overall thought the flavors were really good and quantity was great for the pricing. The mild was good not having too much spice, and the service was pretty great. I would definitely say this elevated the fried chicken fast food game for me!
Dave's Hot Chicken has been out a while, finally got the chance to get some, I wasn't disappointed. Lite mild, too fragile for Hot and above, had the slider and tender combo and it was delicious, added with house sauce and honey, it was scrumptious. If they ever have one come to Charleston, I will be a regular patron.
The chicken was juicy and and spicy I love the fries and the Customer service I hope hope you get 5 stars every time
Dave's Hot Chicken located in the heart of Columbia is a food chain restaurant that offers cooked to order chicken. I was so excited to try Dave's Hot Chicken, due to all of the fantastic reviews. When arriving be prepared to park in close quarters, the parking lot is pretty small and the spots are narrow. I went around noon and there were still spots available, but it was limited. If it is a nice day you can sit outside but they also offer tables and booths inside. I loved the decor inside. It was lively. When walking in we were greeted with friendly staff who were eager to assist us. I was so pleased because I was unsure how the ordering process worked, but it was extremely easy. I ordered the mini chicken sliders that came with a side of fries. If you sign up for the rewards app, like I did. You will get a free drink and if you complete the survey at the end of your order you will get an additional free drink, which is awesome. Our service was extremely good, even though we were in the midst of a lunch rush. All of Dave's chicken is fresh and cooked to order. One will receive a pager and it will buzz when your order is ready. I like this because it makes your experience more personal. Our meal was delicious, the chicken was so moist and the breading flavor was fantastic. One special feature Dave's Hot Chicken offers is you get to decide what spice level you would like your chicken. I decided to do no spice, due to my daughter not having a spice tolerance, but have heard amazing reviews of Dave's chicken with the spices on it. In addition our meal came with coleslaw and fries that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Although Dave's is a fast food restaurant the establishment was extremely clean with no visible dirt on the floor. I was highly pleased with our experience and will definitely come back to Dave's Hot Chicken. Dave's restaurant is not like the average fast food chain, you can tell that they take genuine pride in every order they serve.
The service was great I think the cashier name was yessie (or something similar). She was very friendly, patient, and answered all questions our party had. The establishment was clean and the food was good.
First time ordering Dave's Hot Chicken and I was unimpressed. I ordered the chicken sandwich and tender combo in hot and mild. The flavor on both items were an acquired taste. They were overly seasoned and almost too salty to enjoy. The macaroni presentation and taste were not pleasant. I did enjoy the fries and dipping sauce and the food was fresh. Not sure if I would dine here again.
My first impression as I arrived was how good the chicken smelled as I got out of my car..There was adequate parking but it could get crowded on the weekend As I went up to the counter I was met by a friendly hostess named Maddie and Nida. They were very helpful and upbeat. While waiting for the chicken I noticed the colorful murals on the wall and it gave the place a nice vibe There were table and chairs inside and outside too. Our order was ready promptly and looked delicious. I had the number 4, which was a chicken slider and my side was crispy fries. They offered 5 heat levels, I had the number 2. They have the reaper which you have to sign a waiver. Let me just say the chicken slider and fries were delicious. Daves uses high quality chicken and you can tell by the taste. I will definitely return. read more

For lunch, my husband and I decided to grab something quick while we were out shopping over the weekend. We went to Dave's Hot Chicken. This place has me excited when it comes to the "Dave's Not Chicken" menu. I ordered Cauli Dave's #3, which is 1 Cauli Tender & 1 Cauli Slider W/ Fries. This is so delicious! Everything has that perfect crispy and a taste that melts in your mouth. The sauce and honey make it just that much better. An amazing combination. My husband ordered the Saucy Bites W/Fries. He stated the meal was crispy and fulfilling. We also ordered the Small Cauliflower Top Loaded Fries. This was another hit for me! It comes with a cheese sauce, pickles and kale slaw topped with cauli bites and a drizzle of Dave's sauce. It tastes so good! If you have never eaten here or tried the cauli menu, please try it. I highly recommend it. As always great service and clean restaurant. read more

We stopped by around 8pm on a Wednesday night and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We wanted to eat here so we decided to wait it out. Checking out was a bit akward as the cashier seemed a bit annoyed we stayed. I ordered the two piece tender meal and a side of mac and cheese. I ordered the tenders to be of a medium spice but was definitely given a spicier one as I could not finish my second tender... The mac and cheese was really good. The inside was clean and it ended up being a 15 minute wait, not 45. The chicken to breading ratio was great as it wasn't too breaded. read more

Was excited to try this place. I was visiting Cola on Sunday and needed a lunch spot. My husband and I took three people so five people total. The total was close to $80. For fast food? When we walked in we weren't greeted. The trash cans were overflowing. All the tables were dirty. I went to the counter to ask about getting the table cleaned. I was given some wipes to do it myself. The food was not good. I couldn't finish it. The chicken had no seasoning or heat. The sauce it came with was tangy, I didn't really understand it. The bread it came with was a piece of white sandwich bread. It wasn't even warm, toasted, nothing. Very disappointed. I did the survey on the receipt and received a text from the manager. Not even a phone call? I am sorry, I cannot recommend this place. read more

I've seen quite a bit of buzz around Dave's so I decided to try it myself. Spicy chicken, sauce galore, fries. Sounds good to me. I ordered two sliders medium heat and I really enjoyed it. The heat doesn't overpower the chicken as I've experienced with many hot chicken dishes. The sandwich just works. Chicken was juicy, fries nice and crunchy. No regrets! read more

Columbia's finally got this awesome hot chicken spot. Dave's hot chicken is a chicken spot that makes tenders and fries. They got a few other menu items, shakes, and whatnot but this place is all about the chicken. Dave's hot chicken has multiple spice levels so you can choice your level of spice. I tried very hot, hot, and medium. Medium is as it sounds and is a great place to start if spicy isn't your main thing. They also have no spice for those that cannot handle any level of spice. The fries were heavily seasoned, and delicious with extra Dave's sauce. The sauce is out of this world and worth a trip on its own. The best part about the sauce is they aren't stingy with it either. All in all if you enjoy spicy chicken anything you've gotta check out Dave's. read more

Second time here and food is just as great. I got the mild flavor and it tasted so good and juicy. The fries are great too. There's no drive through, it takes a while for the food to be ready so I would suggest to either make the order for pick up if you are in a rush or don't wanna wait too long. read more

So I'm gonna give this establishment 4 star mainly because of the seasoning that they put on their chicken now I know it's based on Nashville hot and it's not my cup of tea so I didn't like it, but I must say the service was professional and I think they cook everything made to order. The staff were very nice in the restaurant as a whole looked amazing and was clean. The fries were fresh and I like the Daves sauce with the extra pickles. My main problem was the chicken. I got the two chicken sandwiches with the fries and she got the same add cheese fries and our total for the whole order came out to 43.95 which was a little expensive but you only live once. Overall cool place I might be back but I'm gonna ask him. Can they cook my chicken without the Nashville seasoning read more

I have been here a few times and it has been pretty good. If you like a little spice with your chicken, this is the place to go. There are many different spice levels to choose from. Personally medium is my favorite. Anything hotter than that loses the taste of the chicken and clears your sinuses. They also have ice cream shakes. The employees have been really nice. Sometimes the wait can be long though, especially when busy. Restrooms appear clean. I plan on going back. read more

I finally had a chance to come and try this place out. I kept seeing it on social media so I finally said why not make that hour and a half drive. It was worth the drive!. They have like maybe 6 or 7 different levels of hot but I got mild lol. The fries was some of the best fries I've tasted, everything was hot and fresh. The artwork on the walls was great too. Just a great overall experience, I will definitely be going again. read more

My girlfriend was craving an Oreo milkshake really bad! Dave's was open until 12am so I took her to get a milkshake. They gave her a fair amount of Oreos but she wanted more. Mr. Kash with (K) was kind enough to give her more Oreos. She was so happy than when we got home I gave her the milk she gave me the shake. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a halal chicken spot open late in Columbia. They are normally open to 11pm but the weekends are midnight. They do such an awesome job with each order. They are made to order and offer different heat leaves. The restaurant you can dine in if you wanted to its large and fun. With the pretty graffiti. read more

I'll start by saying the place overall is very nice. The establishment was clean and the workers were friendly. However, I don't think I knew what I was getting. The chicken has a Nashville hot taste, thanks to my daughter for educating me. I was confused by the sweet taste of the chicken. We waited for 10-15 minutes for our food so we knew it was going to be hot. Wrong. Our fries were lukewarm and best and sandwich wasn't much warmer. Nevertheless, we ate it but for $25 and no drinks, I'd pass. I think if served pipping hot it would be amazing! read more
