I can vouch for the takeout here since I've never had the chance to eat in the restaurant, but always a 10/10! I've been craving some authentic mediterranean cuisine for a long time and this never disappoints. The chicken shawarma is so deliciously seasoned and the samosas are so crispy (be careful they have a really nice kick but it will hit you!). The Baklava is my favorite I've ever had hands down with how the phyllo is soaked so nicely in the honey. It never disappoints and I still have to make my way through the rest of the menu. They have teff to make your own injera. The black mulberries are delicious and good for a low sugar snack.

I've been coming here since we moved to Cola 6 years ago. They're expanding the store and added a restaurant! Further expansion will have produce. I do a lot of Mediterranean cooking, so this is my go to spot for spices, beans, tahini, olives, capers, cheeses, etc. Now it's going to be in rotation for lunch and dinner!!! This place has a lot to offer but there's a scam going on. Let me explain. If you ever ask for meat and just say for example, you ask for 4 lbs of meat. They will give you 3ish pounds and charge you for 4ish pounds of meat. They have continuously done this to me and my loved ones and I am just now catching onto their deceptive practices. They have been called out on it, but they are FULLY AWARE of what they are doing and they have an excuse up their sleeve to try and get away with it. Also, with covid going around like crazy, they had no problem with someone being in the store coughing his brains out nonstop WITHOUT A MASK ON. Everyone continues to ignore the coughing like it is nothing. There's 2 very valid reasons to avoid this place. IF you decide to go there to get meat, take a scale with you and measure it and then compare that number to what is actually on the barcode label on the bag AND on the receipt after checkout. Don't walk out of the store til you triple check everything regarding the meat. They are close to being investigated if this keeps happening. read more

Halal International has recently expanded and opened a small restaurant within the grocery store. Shawarma, kofta, falafel, tabouli, etc., is available for dine-in and take out. Quite tasty and priced reasonably. Definitely recommend! read more

I found a lot of foods I normally don't see in Columbia area at this store and was willing to try. The guy working their explained how the meat they sell is never frozen and is humanely butcher the halal way. I don't know if I will try the meat in the back unless the guys working there were cooking it as they looked like large cuts of meat. I did purchase some Armenian string cheese and garlic ginger paste to cook with at home. A lot of choices here,be sure to ask for some assistance if your looking for a specific item. I am so happy to have found this place. Arabic groceries are a huge part of my diet and I was getting disappointed with the selection in Columbia. Problem solved. I go through a good amount of Tahini and being able to get 32oz for about eight dollars is a budget saver. The spices and spice mixes are very reasonable and fresh. It was my first and very bad experience with Halal International. 1. Customer Service: The guy at the counter stares at the customers like thieves and do not expect a smiley face. 2. I took 5 lbs of lamb. Half of it was good other half seems to be rotten. I did not realize until i started cooking. 3. The quality of chicken, lamb and goat is disgusting. 4. My colleagues told me that they try to sell you stale meat if you are a new customer, 5. The prices are very high compared to Organic chicken found at Publix or any other stores. 6. Great place for international groceries. The meat here is the best. Fresh. I bought some lamb cut stew meat and some ground beef. The butcher cut it exactly the way I wanted and packaged it for me. Overall it is a great store and I will be a frequent customer. read more

I was so happy to see all the specialty groceries on the shelves here, haven't found all these goodies anywhere else for hundreds of miles. Everything I want for Middle Eastern cooking is here, as well as many grains and lentils that cost three times more at Whole Foods. Staff was polite and friendly. OMG...thank HEAVENS for this store!! I go at LEAST once a week. It is the only place in Columbia where I can get REAL PITAS (since the grocery/big box stores don't carry them) and my beloved za'ttar. The employees/manager have always been very helpful whenever i come by with recipes and suggestions. Now I can make my za'ttar bread at home (I miss Tabouli on Devine) but this is the next best thing!!!!! read more
