Seriously wish I had a Publix near me. Went back because I really wanted the cannolis I had last time. At first I didn't think they had them cause I didn't see them but then, sitting on the shelf was the last box of two cannolis. I was BEYOND happy!!! I they taste so d**n good!! I wish they made ones that were completely covered in chocolate tho. Like, the entire shell instead of just the plain shell. That would be delicious!! Instead of going to my usual markets, I decided to shop at Publix today. The last couple of times, it was always crowded and more of a hassle to shop, but today it was quite pleasant. This store has great selections to make your grocery shopping experience enjoyable. I also ended up finding items that I haven't seen in some of the other locations I normally shop in, which was a great deal for me! I will say that making this trip was worth it. It was clean, items were on the shelves neatly, and customer service was great. I will make this one of my locations to shop more frequently! read more

This is a really great Publix! It's small and compact, but so clean, organized, and efficient. As usual, the employees were very nice and friendly as well. One of the smaller Publix I've been to, but they have most what others have. Maybe their speciality aisles or the bakery isn't as robust due to their size. Usually pretty packed in there from being in such a centralized location so be mindful of the times to go, I recommend evening after 7pm. Parking is terrible, it's a small lot and hard to find parking. There were times where I just had to park at the side of the building and run in quickly. Facilities are clean and building is well kept & organized, but overall a smaller Publix compared to other locations I've been to. read more

If you're in downtown Columbia and need groceries or other items you may have forgotten (toothbrush, toiletries), Publix is your go-to. It is clean, well-managed, and we did not have to wait in line too long. You can walk here from some hotels, but if you have a car, there's a large parking lot outfront for customers, so feel free to drive. It's easier to get large purchases back to your hotel that way. If you work nearby, it's convenient for stopping on your way to or from your job. They have a bakery and deli with delicious Publix subs that you can't beat for a quick lunch. This Publix feels a bit cramped compared to grocery stores in the suburban areas, but it still has everything you need without visiting multiple stores. read more

This Publix is located downtown in what is called the Vista, a former warehouse district for textile mills & railroads. It is now bustling with restaurants, shops, galleries and businesses. It was within walking distance of my hotel. Same gracious staff here as in my Florida hometown and I am sure as in the 1,000+ other Publix stores in the southeast. What makes this store unique is the building itself is on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1862, it was originally used to print money & bonds then later as a state-run alcohol distribution center. It was vacant for decades before Publix opened there. read more

I love Publix! This Publix is my go to place for my grocery shopping. It's close to my apartment and it's in a prime location by being in the Vista. They have a decent sized parking lot, but sometimes it gets crazy during the weekends to find a spot. They have a lot of grab and go food here like their deli shop, sushi area, bakery, and prepared meats section. The fried chicken that they have is bone lickin' good and great to bring to potlucks and parties. They're very large hefty pieces of chicken with crispy crunchy skin. Their sushi is made fresh at the beginning of each day and comes with at least 10 large pieces and wasabi/ginger. My favorites are the salmon and tuna roll. From their deli I try to eat healthy and go with their Boar's Head Mediterranean Hummus Veggie Wrap. The service here is very professional and quick. Whenever I asked an employee to find something for me they were helpful and never moaned and groaned. The checkout lines are pretty efficient and I've never waited more than 10 minutes. The store is clean and well stocked. Their meats and vegetables are pretty high quality at reasonable prices. read more

Bro................. Y'all will not believe it when i say that this is my favorite activity. And I know y'all will be like "But this is a grocery store bruh this isn't an activity", and to that I would say you are right. It's not an activity, it's an experience. There's a really handsome cashier with round glasses and he is so cool and charming. I busted a whole gallon of milk on the ground, I was sooo embarrassed. But like a knight in shining (green polyester) armor, he swooped in and cleaned it up without a fuss. He also sent another worker to get me a new gallon of Milk. What a hero, I needed that milk so bad. I was in a rush to get home because it was chocolate milk night. But he saved the day and chocolate milk night could commence because of his bravery. I very much recommend this publix in particular, even though the parking situation is a little iffy. read more

This is my favorite Publix. I know where everything is and the people are so nice. It's conveniently located downtown. As well as easily accessible. Their party trays are really nice. They're reasonably priced. My go to are the sub and chicken tenders but the tenders are COLD! Be mindful of that when ordering. Their fried chicken is delicious! You will definitely think someone's grandma is in the kitchen! The store is kept clean and I haven't had a bad experience. This will always be my favorite. read more

I placed an online sub order that was scheduled for a 1 pm pick up. 30 minutes later, still nothing. Meantime, every walk up customer was taken care of. I ended up leaving without my food and wasted 30 minutes of my lunch break. What's the point in an online ordering system if you're going to get faster service by just ordering in person? I ordered online because my time for lunch is limited. On top of that, the parking situation is atrocious. While I like the subs, I won't be back. Publix is a popular southern grocery chain and, while I don't live in the area to know for sure, I enjoyed this Publix. Now, it's certainly not as large as some of the other Publix locations! But for some folks, that is a good thing. It's quite easy to go in and get what you needed and then escape again. There are around 5 checkout stations, so again, it's small but the workers are definitely efficient. read more

My Go-To Publix when I am at work. It is right by the job and we use them often for anything we may need, or I may need. I love the look of this location and I love the service that I receive when I come in. I am greeted with a smile and normally, depending on my location, asked if I need any assistance. As it should be. I love the bakery. One time, I ordered a cake and when I arrived to pick it up, it was not ready. I was honestly shook because the party was starting up soon, but they took a tremendous portion off for the mishap and I went about my day. So the cake arrived a little late, but was delicious and looked great. I don't too often order from the sub or hot food bar. I did once and got some of the mardi gras wings!!! The location itself is a selling point. Right on Gervais Street, it is walkable from whatever you are staying downtown. This is not a full size Publix, but it carries more than enough of what you will need. The deli, bakery, wine aisle, and produce are all ready and waiting. The team here is friendly and they actually have a decent sized parking lot being downtown. I found myself there in search of bottled water and cold-brew coffee. They had plenty of both. I ended up with some dark chocolate covered espresso beans as well, but can you blame me? It was only the fact that I had walked there that hindered me from purchasing more. As a Florida native, it's safe to say that Publix is my gold standard. After all, to be from Florida is to be born on aisle six of your local location and be ready to fight anyone who slanders the Pub-sub! (Did I move to Columbia because I knew I'd still have access to Publix? I'll never tell) So I walked in with high expectations and they were absolutely met! Warm lighting? Check. Smiling employees? Check. Logical aisle layout (this is such an underrated grocery store barometer)? Check. Beautiful cakes to drool over in the bakery? Check and double check! While not as big as the locations I'm used to, this spot still hits all of the high notes and creates a welcoming environment dedicated to helping you unlock your inner chef (OK, even I cringed at that last sentence, but it's Publix so I'm gonna keep it.) Every time I've been in there's been a cooking demo with free samples going on in the back corner, plus easy recipe cards to help even a cook just starting out branch out. All of the employees were knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. The place was spotless and the bathrooms are always clean as a whistle. While there aren't too many check-out stations, they move a lot faster than you'd think and you can get in and out in a snap! read more

Compares to Publix in Orlando FL, this Publix is much smaller and doesn't have as much the variety in all categories. But the service is good! All the people work here are friendly and trying to help the customers. The ladies at the food tasting stand are extremely nice. I think there are different people. To my surprise, there is no wine tasting. Publix's pharmacy is really good which I would recommend. This Publix is close to where I live but the traffic to get there is a headache. read more

I normally wouldn't do a review of a supermarket, but because of the exceptional experience I had there, I feel compelled to write one. My office was having a tailgate event and each team had to come up with a theme for their tailgate party and bring foods that fit the theme. My team went with a Caribbean theme and I chose to bring a tropical fruit platter. I had gotten a fruit platter from this Publix before for a work event so I knew they did good work. What I did not find out until I went online is that their fruit platters are generally standard and are made with in season fruit. I called up the store and asked could they make me a tropical fruit platter since that was the theme of my team. I spoke with Tia and she said she wasn't sure but she would check and find out for me. The next day she called me back and said they could make it and there would be no added on costs. I gave her the fruits I had in mind, mango, pineapples, papaya, dragon fruit and she said we will make it happen. 1 day later I picked up a beautifully made fruit platter that was exactly what I wanted. I was asked several times at our event who made the platter for me and was repeatedly told how fresh and delicious all of the fruit was. Needless to say, anytime I need anything made for a party, I will be calling on this Publix. read more

This Publix is in The Vista, in an old restored warehouse on the corner of Gervais & Huger. I'm not particularly sure what this building formerly housed, as I saw some faint traces of words on the Southeast side of the building but was unable to make them out. This particular location is smaller in size compared to other Publix stores in the Columbia area, but considering its location I think it meets the demographic needs (a little bit of everything). Most of the patrons on my visit appeared to be stopping in to pick something up for lunch, as was I, and for this purpose a fully expanded item stock isn't necessary. It's unlikely that the nearby students are looking to stock a kitchen, either, so this micro-sized Publix is a good fit. Because of its size and ambience, you also feel less like you're in a grocery store and more like a specialty store, similar to Trader Joes or EarthFare. read more

In and of itself this is not a terrible publix. However the parking is absolutely insane and I'm almost in a car accident every time I try to park at this Publix. Also all the college students in the area ravage the aisles. You're not going to find any buy one get ones here because they're all take by the college students. Publix on South Lake Drive sold me a raw Mojo oven-roasted chicken. When you purchases these chickens please make sure your chicken is cooked thoroughly. I spoke to the manager and I could've told that this isn't their first incident. I would no longer eat the prepared foods. BE AWARE DON'T and I mean DON'T just bite into the food without checking.
