Solid food quality with great prices I must have to admit! 1 month straight now I've been going here with my wife!

Lidl and Aldi's are my go to stores for groceries. I lived in Germany for many yrs and Im glad to see them finally came to the USA. Lots of parking, free grocery carts, food & produce are always fresh! Large aisles, clean and I never have to ask nor search around the store. I always go in the morning while others are at work, so peaceful and people not running all over me. Ive never had any issues with customer service. Yes, you may have to wait a few minutes to check out. Yes, you just may have to check your self out. And YES, Walmart is worse with wait times and rude employees daily thru out the entire store. I have reported the deli, vision, and the auto dept for nonsense. I go in Walmart for a last ditch only. I decided to decrease my stress dealing with Walmart, by patronizing other grocery stores for a better experience. So yeah I will continue to shop here and save a few coins. I appreciate Lidl coming to Lexington. Keep up the good work! read more

We always enjoy a trip to Lidl. Their prices are great and their selection is very good. I also appreciate how early their open. Shopping with a toddler is much easier at 7am. Every time we visit the employees are always so helpful and kind. Our daughter very much enjoys pushing her own cart around the store. Such a great learning opportunity. Make sure you bring your own bags or a laundry basket for easy check out. read more

Prices are good food is good. Overall the stores in good shape. I was in there today, Sunday, January 26, 2025. I was standing in line with quite a few other people when suddenly it said line 2 will be open in just a minute, so the lady in front of me moved over, I followed. A Scrawny looking employee with long blonde unkept hair came around the corner and said who did you turn on my register/light she said no. He didn't want to come and run that register. There was a lot of people in line. He turned that light off and only took me and lead in front of me. People were just looking at him . His customer service skills are lacking, but his scrawny looks are not helping. The other thing he did was scan the ladies vegetable and then smacked them down on the belt and tossed some of them. I think he needs a little bit more training and he'll be all right. read more

OK, this is a really nice, very open space supermarket. I thought it was like Aldi, but it's not. Has named brand food and at affordable prices. I really like this store and hope they branch out and popularize to the Northern tri-state region where I live. read more

This was my first time visiting a Lidl grocery store. As you walk in, the bakery section is on the left side. I got a rustic baguette and a cinnamon raisin cookie. Both were very good! The outer aisles are grocery items and the inside aisles are other miscellaneous nonfood items. You won't find many name brand items here, but the generic brand items are cheap. A 17 oz box of corn flakes was $1.25. A box of saltines was $.79. You have to bag your own groceries and bring your own bags. The checkout guy was very unfriendly. I would go back to Lidl. You can definitely save money here if you don't care about friendly service. read more

Nothing wrong with the products and value, however the staff is quite another matter as is check out. Two young me on, but no one on cash. Not offer of opening cash, i was expected i guess to use the self checkout that does NOT accept cash. So ok. Had to try the self check out twice. Screen did not respond to my touch. When i told the young black man he became rude and insisted i didnt know what i was doing and acted annoyed when i told.him it didnt work for me. Unlikely to return. Aldi and lowe's foods are right across the street. I was able to get what i needed before there was a lidl in town expect i can get along without the bad customer service. read more

Today I went to Lid's and was sooo dissapointed. Thought they might be going out of business. I have been shopping here weekly for the past 18 months. Today was a real eye opener. I only saw 1 employee working (he was playing cashier and every other oositjon that was needed). The produce section looked ok but the dairy, coldcuts and specials had bare shelves. The second aisle which has home goods and such had no prices listed. The third aisle which has home goods and toys were mixed. Some had prices and some did not. On a positive note, I saved a bunch of money because I couldn't buy something I didn't know the price of The fact that the parking lot omly has 6 cars at 9:00 am should have been an indication that there was trouble in there.. By the way I heard the CEO has taken a position with impossible meat so maybe this is the end of Lidl's. read more

I really wanted to like this place a lot more. Love Aldi so I thought I'd love this place as much. It's larger than Aldi and has great prices on cheese and always neat household finds. However, produce left a lot to be desired. There was mold growing on some of the produce on the shelves. There were veggies that said they needed to be refrigerated in non refrigerated areas and the veggies. I did buy a few items that looked good. They were beginning to grow mold within the day. This is terrible unfortunate since I mostly eat veggies. Might try again, but it's doubtful. read more

The fresh meat here is very poor quality. Select rating at best. It is tough and grainy and you truly get what you pay for. It tastes just like the quality of meat we have had in Mexico and I doubt it is American meat. Aside from that, the dairy and general groceries are fantastically cheap. Products are hit or miss but definitely will keep coming for those hits. Better selection than Aldi, but Aldi has very good quality products that keep me coming back. Worth trying out! read more

Every time I've been here, about 6 times, I've had some great experiences. Customer service has been great. The bargains are great especially if you use the app. My daughter got sick once and the manager helped us out right away. This is one of my new favorite stores to do my grocery shopping!! This is a upscale green groceries store. No bags so bring your own or buy theirs. Plenty to choose from here pretty what you expect from a grocery store. Very clean store with nice layout. I go for the 99% lean turkey meat and spaghetti squash. They also have clothes and odd/end stuff. read more

I finally went to Lidl and I am in LOVE. I only went there for pretzels and left with a shopping cart full of stuff. I picked up some of their store branded foods to try and they were delicious and had lower sodium than their counterparts in other brands and stores. The store is a lot cleaner and nicer than other German grocery stores in the area. They also run a lean staff, like other German grocery stores, but that didn't get in the way of the staff being friendly and helpful. The bakery is my absolute favorite part. I left with pretzels, muffins, and cookies. The prices were great and so were the items. I look forward to my next shopping adventure at Lidl. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I first was encouraged to use Lidl, as I usually have my groceries delivered from Kroger and Publix. There were no brand names that I was remotely familiar with, with the exception of Dukes' Mayonnaise. However, I took the advice of my dear friend and took the Lidl plunge. The Lidl experience continues to delight me. They have the most fresh and beautiful veggies and fruits. I must add that they have an organic section and many organic items to choose from. The meats are superb and I have tried them all. Even the employees are exemplary. On the up side of having my groceries delivered via Shipt, I don't have to bag my own. You must do that at Lidl, as well as pay .07 cents for handled paper bags and .10 cents for the handled plastic ones. I cannot say anything negative about Lidl. I'm glad I finally went. read more

I go to lidi faithfully every week, I had an unpleasant visit on 7/7/23 night. I went to self-check out, the first item I went to ring up was a bag of grapes and the machine said wait for assistance. I waited and no employee came and I looked around but no one near. So I moved to another machine and I put the bag to the side to ring up last. Half way done with my groceries the employee come and goes to the other machine where I started. He then came to me and said if I needed help with the grapes I said " yes, I started at the other machine and waited for a while, so I just moved to this one." He then says in the most snarkiest way " mmhmm yeah I thought so". I didn't say anything I just looked at him and then we he was done ringing the grapes up I said thank you and he just said "mmhmm" and walked away and stood at the regular register on his phone. Not sure if he was in a bad mood or what but he was just so rude towards me. He was a white male with brown hair and glasses. I didn't get his name because I just didn't want to deal with him he had already changed my cheerful mood. read more

Good values on all purchases items.I was shopping last weekend, wanted to purchase some salmon,my question was farm or wild.So I asked a sa less staff,she was unable to help "but I can get .y manager ".Manager appears from "hell"she was so rude,no eye contact, very poor people skills.Her reply was IF IT Doesn't say on the package, I don't know in nasty voice.I looked at the sale staff,and asked what did I do to her.That manager should keep in mind there are other stores,and without the customers, she would not be needed.It was my second contact with this one,poor people skills. read more

I love this place!!!!! It doesn't have as much selection as Walmart but the quality of the produce and grocery items are great! It has everything that I need and is my first stop for shopping. They also have a bakery with fresh baguette donuts, cookies and other pastries. read more

Got bad produce again today. I'm at the point where I should stop shopping there and or call the health inspector. They do deals on salads and other items when a few days away from expiring. So I got one for tonight. Got home and realized it was spoiled bad after opening it. I just bought it shopping. We just got home and unpacked. This is every time I shop there. Someone needs to be fired and I would call for a health inspection visit for the quality for their produce. read more

No cashiers, so I spend hundreds of dollars here twice a month and now I'm self checking out which took me forever, had to get assistance for certain marked down items being properly charged. In the past their cashiers very friendly and efficient, this is a horrible business decision, back to friendly Publix for me. read more

Great store! I purchased individual packaged sirloin steaks -- grass fed-- for $2.25 today with no limit on how many I could buy. I mean...just an amazing deal. This was my first time there and definitely not my last either. They had great deals on everything from $.49 eggs to 50% off (organic grass-fed) chicken! We normally shop at Sam's because we have a large family and bulk is usually cheaper but this saved us tons of money. Another amazing thing is they don't make it expensive to try to eat healthy or organic. BYOB though (bring your own bags) or they have decently sized boxes you can use for packaging. It's a fancy version of Aldi. Brand new, everything looked pretty fresh, and they seem to have a better selection. Most of the stuff is private labeled. They have a bakery, and everything looked good. We opted to try the jelly donuts at the bargain price of 29 cents each. I know why they were so cheap, because they forgot to put sugar in them. Bring your own bags otherwise you have to pay for them. They have self checkout, which will be a plus once it settles down a bit. Download the app and score coupons. Still not a place I could do all my grocery shopping. read more

I have a couple of German coworkers who recommended Lidl's bakery to me. The only one is in Lexington and I live in NE Columbia. Happened to be in the area so my wife and I went. It's very reminiscent of Aldi's, but not as good a selection of items. Wasn't a fan of the layout either. Great prices on their fruit & veggies though! The highlight, was in fact, their bakery, which is in next to the entrance. Definitely a go to for dessert/cookies/donuts/bread, fruits & veggies, but that's about it. This is my second time in this store and the cashier tried to charge me for the lidl re usable bags I bought last time so I wont use those again !!! the cashier 44 had a nasty attitude and needs a good dose of customer service training . I don't like nasty especially when I'm spending my money in a store . I hope the manager overheard me complaining about customer service and I think they are probably trying to make a name for themselves in this country and judging from their people this is not the way to do it . get it together Lidl or you will loose my money for sure . read more

I finally got to go to this new grocery store this week and I was very excited to check it out. I will say the prices were pretty good, much lower than I expected. It just reminded me of a fancier, cleaner Aldis. A lot of generic or lower and products but the price was lower also. All in all it was OK nothing super special but nice low prices which is enjoyable. read more

I'm usually an Aldi customer, but I am certainly liking Lidl more and more. The fresh fruits are more quality and quality. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about product and location. They often provide you with coupons if you don't have your own. They have a cool app which does save you money. I would normally have gone higher on the rating. However, today, the front end did not have it together. Customers were at a standstill at self checkout. There was only one functional register. I had to go find someone to alert them to the bottleneck line that was developing, only to be given an excuse. The cashier that did open a register could take anything but cash. Thankfully I had that. During that time, he answered a personal call "bro" and then began yelling across registers to communicate with other employees. Lost stars for unprofessional behavior at the end. Went from a 4 down to a 2 because of that. Hopefully they will realize customers are not interested in their personal drama. Wow, that is the one word I have to describe this place. They sell anything from food to power tools. It looks big from the outside, but it is actually smaller than it looks. Do not go to Lidl if you are looking for namebrand items. It is a very interesting store. As we were browsing through there were things like shoes, dart boards, and as I said before power tools. There was even a small pet bed and some pet toys as well. The staff is still very friendly. The only reason I do not like Lidl is just because I enjoy buying name brand goods, just because in my opinion they taste better. Lidl is still a good store to go to if you want low prices. Lidl will not be a part of our routine for those reasons but the choice on if you want to go is yours to make. read more

You know what- I am in LOVE. Went here just to check out the fuss, walked out with a dozen extra large eggs, blocks of feta cheese, a big thing of canola oil, 6 pack of sparkling orange flavored water, can of tomato puree, can of organic black beans, big bottle of raspberry lemonade, 1 lb ground turkey, a pack of naan bread, and 2 bottles of good quality red wine - NOT barefoot either - all for $25 after tax!!!! What!!!! Can you believe it? Other grocery stores, all this would have EASILY been $60. Ever since then I have been in love. If you eat healthy, you don't need brand name stuff anyways. They have some brand name items, but I don't care for brand name oil or any of that other stuff. If ure a brand name snob, you won't like Lidl. But if u eat pretty healthy you don't eat processed brand name food anyways. Also the mangos were only $0.50!!! Love love love this place. Be sure to bring reusable bags. read more
