Help getting the groceries into the car, advice from vegetable/fruit clerks and butchers...even a free cookie or fruit for the kids! If you couldn't find everything (and they always ask as you check out) they will send someone for it or check to see if they are carrying it. They are not the cheapest groceries, but they have great specials regularly,graciously accept returns if the product was overripe or not what you expected, and are unfailingly polite and friendly. read more

Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities that Publix opens a location in are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I bring some ballon that I bought online to Publix . But I never expected that the cost for that would so expensive. They never told me the price or had the price visible for the customers. Almost 4 dollar for each ballon they filled up with helium. When I saw how much I had to pay in total for the 6 ballon's I almost cried. I love Publix and while there are many new super markets moving to the Lexington area I will forever remain loyal. The employees at Publix are unlike any other grocery store, they always prove to be helpful and nice. This location is usually very clean and well stocked. While Publix may be a little bit more expensive than some other stores the BOGO deals are a great way to shop and save money. The bakery is probably the best part of the shopping experience...they always have a stocked fresh baked breads section and the cakes are amazing. I love Publix! read more

I am a night owl, so the 10:00pm closing time kind of cuts in close for me. However, when I come in at 9:40, the employees are always so nice to me and never rush me. I do try to get out before close though. The service is exceptional, you can clearly see this is their strong point. When I can't find something, there is always someone close by willing to help me out. The store is always clean and well-stocked. The Target and Walmart in Lexington do not keep the shelves stocked very well, so it is good that someone in town does! The prices are a little higher than Food Lion, but you get what you pay for here. They always offer to walk me to my car and when I turn them down, they insist. I am still getting used to a shopping cart being called a "buggy" instead of a "shopping cart" as they call it in Texas. I always get a kick out of it when an employee calls it a "buggy"!:) I highly recommend shopping at this location. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter that we will consume tomorrow. Man do I love me some Publix! Out of all of the options in Lexington it is the pricier one but well worth it. I love their deli area, the cheese and meat selection is superb. There is always a line at the deli counter however, which can sometimes take up to 25 minutes so don't plan on getting in and out. Their overall food selection is great; I love the fresh produce too. I have also purchased a few of their bakery items and they are always good. The service here is outstanding, from the cashiers to the bag boys/girls everyone is so nice and pleasant. Dealing with the crowds can be stressful but their staff always puts a smile on my face! My only gripes are: The always crowded deli line (but now you can order online) They don't ever have fresh chorizo They don't have a value/customer savings option like other food stores Getting in and out of the parking lot is a mess read more

Our sweet dog of nearly 17 years died a couple of days ago. My sister from CA called Publix at Lexington Place and they delivered the sweetest card, balloon and plant to us. Great public grocery store nestled in downtown Lexington. They have so many fresh produce, deli, and bakery options to choose from and everything always tastes great. I want to say I will never shop at any publix again after the humiliation I received from the pharmacy on Saturday. Firstly it was assumed I was a senior for the flu shot which I'm not and then the girl kept walking away from me to answer phones. Spoke with store manager and he seemed sympathetic and even when I said I would never shop there again he did not care. There are a load of new food stores on lexington and they will have my business from now on. I'm not allowing them to distress me but wanted community to know that publix has changed and that store particularly since new manager. read more

UPDATE: Hair found in pre-packaged chicken that we had already purchased after my last post. Called to speak to manager and was told that none of the "Fresh" bakery items are made/packaged in the store and neither is the chicken. I have been here since 2011 and I love this store. I have tried others but by far this is the best store for us When the new stores come to town we find that they are not as good overall for us as Publix. Clean, good food, excellent customer service. We enjoy the seafood and fresh vegetables and fruit. We also buy flowers and they look great and last a couple of weeks. I grew up going to this publix but the last year I have been nothing but disappointed. The staff is rude and refuses to acknowledge you are in the store. The last 2 times I went, they were out of what I went for and stopped carrying one of the items. Ok, first of all, I used to enjoy shopping at Publix from time to time.. Deli is great, meat dept. seemed always on point, and that was my go to place for flowers. Would have been 5 stars until today.... I remembered my wife bringing a slice of cake that they had ordered for their doctor's/boss's birthday. She said it was so good and I have to try it. It was.. not too sweet, just overall great. Yesterday, I ordered the Chantilly cake for my wife's birthday and the fella at the bakery took my order and said it will be ready tomorrow at 5:00 pm (a time I gave him since he asked) . Was not the case. I arrived at 5:15 and my order seemed to slip through the cracks. Fine... The assistant bakery manager said the were making a fresh one and I should have it im 15 min. After walking around, I stopped and started to watch the lady do her thing.. Oh did I see it.. Don't really know if she had gloves on but she took her hand, stuck it in the middle, and pressed pretty hard, probably left a nice handprint. She washed her hands and started to work on the cake again with no gloves (which makes me think no gloves were worn to begin with). The other lady working said yeah she's supposed to wear gloves but maybe just took them off. I got upset and asked for a refund. The bakery assistant manager walks me to the front to get my money. Well the manager in charge seemed to not even give too rips about my experience (@ the front of the store where I got my refund). I was pissed and had to explain to my wife about the birthday cake she almost had. Thanks Publix for an awful experience, my first one ever of all the Publix I've shopped at. As far as Publix go this is a really good store. As many times as I have been in here not once have I ever came across a upset or disgruntled employee. If they are having a bad day they seem to hide it well. They have a great deli section and their subs are pretty amazing too. The prices are a little higher than most Publix, but what are you going to do. They have pretty much everything you need to stock your fridge and or pantry.
