This Kroger is more like a Walmart. Not the quality of the associates or the products, but the merchandise variety. Kitchenware. Clothing. Slippers! What? And yes, the store is huge with a large frozen department, plenty of produce and a nice looking deli (which does not start making sandwiches until 11am). I was able to find what I wanted and make a nice lunch for myself in the van. A hoagie roll in the toaster, some sliced cheese, some marinara sauce and a few meatballs from a bag of frozen meatballs. Definitely the bougiest Kroger I've seen, and the largest. Standing on one side of the store I literally can barely see the other side. Upscale "marketplace" feel with huge floral area, a Starbucks and a "Bistro" area that is like a food court with different styles of food including Pan-Asian. We actually only stopped here while traveling to use the restroom and get a Starbucks (conveniently located next to each other) so I can't speak to the actual grocery shopping experience. The store is so large that if you were there for a leisurely explore I think it would be enjoyable but if you're just running in for a few things it's probably overkill. I did notice that of the 12 or so checkout lanes only one or two appeared to be open. There is a gas station as well (the other reason we stopped). Incidentally, right next to the gas station is a huge car wash. If you are traveling and need a rest stop and/or meal there are lots of brand new, upscale looking fast food and fast casual dining spots along Killian Road. read more

The Krogers deli at Robert's Branch is just horrible! I have never gone in without being ignored and waiting an extremely long time! Then they write it down and expect you to wait forever and come back and pick your meat up. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced! They should get some training in how New Jersey supermarkets handle customers.....just terrible! read more

I picked up a fresh cake that was good till 3/10/2025. When I got home i found that under the expiration date sticker was another sticker with the expiration date of 2/25/2025. I called the manager, and he said that was normal and the cake was taken from the frozen section to the fresh section....That makes no sense at all. This Kroger isn't like the other Kroger stores I've been in. It is more like a Walmart. Trying to fool the customers. CHECK EVERYTHING YOU BUY IN THIS STORE. Don't trust them at all. read more

I often times stop by this Kroger to get some Starbucks for Breakfast. Every time I go there, the food is always fresh and perfect quality. The people who work there are always nice. The service is amazing. I also enjoy sitting by the window and getting a great view. read more

Easily the best grocery store in the area! I normally prefer Publix over any other grocery store, but this Market Place is fantastic! It's not quite as good as the Kroger brand Fred Myers, but it is one step below that. You can buy clothing, toys, and this location has an expanded offering of other items, like kitchen supplies, crafts and seasonal items. The deli is decent, the made-to-order food is pretty good and the customer service is good. The expanded wine and beer offerings are excellent for a grocery store. There is a Starbucks on site, free wifi and the store has an online to order for pickup. read more

Last night, my daughter and I stopped by here to grab a few things. I've been in here a few times and I absolutely love this store. It is always well stocked and I can find whatever I need. This time when we went, there was a lot of shelf stocking going on. Folks are in there preparing for their Christmas dinner. It was a little crowded but I appreciate them trying to keep up with the needs of the customers. I normally stop here in the morning on my way to work. As I have been, I will continue frequenting this location as it is very clean, and the location is great. I like the Starbucks in there as well. I've purchased their fresh sushi too! In here, you can get it all. On one of my visits, I was able to get some Ginger ale that was only sold in my hometown, but I found it here! I love it!! read more

Hey I love this store but its something that's bothering me and it's happened several times. I've been coming to this store for 3 plus years and quite a few times im going through the self check out and as I'm scanning I hear " have a good day" but when I leave I don't get a word. Now this isn't a one time thing. But I'll just be candid about what I see. It's usually a white person thats gets that. Now I'm not saying it's a race thing but I'm just telling you my experience. And it's alway a young black person that's working the self check out. I have literally walked past her and looked directly at her and she ignores me and looks at phone. So all I'm asking is to make sure customers getting greeted and treated the same. Now I also think sometimes it's a respect thing and maybe they think we don't care but we do. read more

1028 Roberts Branch Parkway Columbia SC 29203 Posting on behalf of my mother Brenda Kelso On January 27th, I went to Kroger and purchased Oysters from their seafood department as I've done many times before. When I began to prepare them, I noticed that something was "moving". After my husband and I took a closer look, we realized that it was a parasite. I called Kroger and spoke with the manager who was very nice. He asked that we bring the oysters back and he would issue a refund. Cool! Not a problem ‍. We removed the Oysters from the pan to return to the store but then we noticed that there were MULTIPLE parasites as you can see in the brief video below. When we arrived at the store , we explained that there were multiple parasites and we even took a cup of the parasites as a nice little souvenir . We received a refund and left the cup of parasites behind. We were told that a claim would be filed and someone would be contacting us the following week. A very nice lady called to gather some information and stated she would file the claim. Well she contacted me today to let me know that the claim was denied because Kroger says that they did "nothing wrong". I guess I was wrong for not asking them to " hold the parasites" when I purchased the oysters. Just be careful. Look at your food closely when purchasing from their seafood department. Maybe even ask them to "hold the parasites" so if you accidentally eat one , YOU won't be the one at fault. read more

If I could give a negative score I would. Julie who worked this afternoon in the main self checkout was extremely rude. I was having issues with ringing up produce, most of the Plu stickers did not match. I needed an item removed from my order, so I pressed the Attendant button. Julie (employee) was on the other side helping someone else. When she finished, she looked me dead in the face and WALKED AWAY. I rationalized that she must have not seen that I pressed the Attendant button. She finally returned and was very curt/abrasive. Her rude service was sooo bad that I even acknowledged it to her. Once she fixed my order she walked off once again and I left the store after paying. I ended up returning 5 min later because I forgot one item for dinner. I was hesitant to return to self-checkout but it was the fastest line. As I finished ringing up my second order, Julie RUSHED UP ON ME from behind and reached in front on me to grab some receipt someone left on top of the register I was using. No excuse me or anything. IT WAS INTENTIONAL and confrontational. I almost felt the urge to push her away because she was too close. On my way out she reveled in her rudeness with a coworker. She is completely unprofessional, hates her job and needs an attitude adjustment! read more

My favorite grocery store for my weekly pick up. They have everything you can ask for and more. I love that they have a great selection of health food options and normal groceries. Excellent wine and beer selection. Their deli has sandwiches, pizza, an Asian section, and sushi. Good for lunch. Affordable but good quality meats. Overall amazing. read more

This store has really gone downhill.My last 4 visits have been horrible and I wont be shopping this Kroger location anymore. I found continuous expired items and one being a pack of pepperoni with mold that had expired 3 months ago. The shelves are alway empty but there is clutter everywhere from stock. The front of the store at self check out had bags and trash all on the floor. Groceries hot/cold were just piled up to be returned back to the floor. All while 5 lanes were open but everyone uses self checkout. So the 5 young cashiers all were on there phones with there heads down not offering to check anyone out. read more

A bit disappointed with the customer service. Specifically the young Mae packing my groceries. They literally put one item in multiple bags. Double bagged one 20oz soft drink. I also bought 4/12 packs of soda they stacked them on the back of the cart and said" I hope they don't fall". I repacked all the bags and handed them back the empty plastic bags and placed the sodas so that they wouldn't fall. The person behind me in line had her own bags they packed her bags with no regard for the items they were putting in. When she saw me repacking my bags she just moved to the window area in front of me and repacked her items as well. Maybe they know how to bag groceries and we're lazy or they they didn't know how. Either way it was really bothersome to have to repack everything to prevent breakage and crushed items. read more

We are SO DONE with shopping there - and that's after being Kroger customers for years. This store, while cosmetically pleasing, has allowed customer service deteriorate to a laughable level so that the term "customer service" is meaningless. First off, we waited at the apparently abandoned meat counter for someone to show up but gave up after five minutes. Now it was time to checkout. The last several times we shopped there (often mid day/mid week) only two checkout lanes are staffed. And there's always several people in line. When asked why they don't open more lanes, I've been told by staffers (off the record) that Kroger is on a path to minimize staffed lanes so that people get used to self-checkout. Today, 8/19/19, around 2pm only two lanes were staffed (again) and BOTH were hosed up with shoppers with problematic issues so that soon there were 6-8 shoppers in both lines waiting to check out. Out of frustration, we went to self checkout along with a lot of other folks. So there are six positions at each end of the store with a single clerk posted at each end to resolve customer problems using the system, check ID, etc. And believe me, there are ALWAYS problems. With a full cart, there's not enough space to place checked items and the minute you remove one to your cart to make space, the system locks up only to be resolved by the single clerk. That's a single clerk scurrying around trying to keep up with inevitable problems normal people have with these self checkout systems. Introduce a shopper unfamiliar with the system or not "computer savvy" and it's nothing but chaos. Oh and did you notice that there's no discount offered to customers using self checkout? We bring our own bags, bag our own groceries, and check ourselves out but pay the same as someone using full service lanes and the implied additional labor costs. Compared to Publix or even BiLo, Kroger's substandard level of customer service is beyond bad. And, for whatever it's worth, an unhappy customer tells his/her friends about the experience far more than a happy one does well beyond venting on Yelp. I hope this new customer service strategy bites Kroger in the ass but whether it does or not, we're never going back. read more

This Kroger used to be great, but it's gone down hill. This is the second time in the last month that I've come here to return something & their customer service desk is closed???!! For the whole day! Today, the lines were The worst I've ever seen. There was only one register open and then both sides of self check out. The lines for each register were 30 people deep. I'm not exaggerating. It's 4 pm on a Wednesday; not even the busiest time you would expect for a grocery store. I saw plenty of employees walking around the store; for some reason nobody thought it was important for them to come up to the registers. Get it together Kroger! read more

The female book keeper/ refund personnel during the daytime was extremely rude and was just very disrespectful to me. The self checkout personnel at night are very kind and prompt to assist me everytime I shop at Kroger. I wish that they would return to having more checkout lanes open and not be shifting to the customer service like Walmart provides. read more

This is my regular supermarket so no surprise I went there for some last minute hurricane supplies. I was VERY impressed!! They had an abundance of water, coal, bread, ice, anything you could think of to get you through an unpredictable storm. I was skeptical walking in based on the amount of cars in the parking, assuming the shelves would be bare but to my surprise the supermarket was WELL stocked. Yes, there were some items sold out but given the circumstances, they were still WELL stocked. Employees were still restocking, despite the amount of shoppers. If you need anything for the expected hurricane, swing by. You won't regret it! Be safe!! read more

Recently I purchased some meat and after being under continuous refrigeration for 2 days the meat was malodorous and unusable. Customer service at self-checkout tonight 10/8/19 at 10:59pm was HORRENDOUS. I'd expect the type of customer service I received tonight from Walmart but never Kroger. This would be a review specifically for the Robert Smalls Pkwy location (aka Killian Rd). I went through self-checkout tonight only to get to the end and be told I had to wait for assistance. Another patron was opposite me and was told the same thing but only because he was buying alcohol. Anyway, I asked for assistance from another Kroger employee who pointed at a woman who was helping someone else (I didn't realize she was an employee looking at what she was wearing - a black jacket/hoodie over the blue shirt which would've helped me identify her as an employee). My nephew and I waited for about 5 mins including the time we were ALREADY waiting prior to the patron opposite us needing assistance. After the woman finished helping someone else, she went to the other patron which I found flabbergasting because my nephew and I were well within earshot of her whilst I was asking another employee for help. She eventually made her way over to my nephew and I, didn't bother to acknowledge us AT ALL and walked off after scanning her card without A WORD. I've gotten treated a whole world better at Walmart!!!! And everyone knows how notorious Walmart is for crappy customer service (and "crappy" is a much cleaner term for how I really feel). If it had not been for the fact I'd already spent too much time in the store gathering things for my family, I WOULD'VE LEFT. Idk what Kroger does to their employees in that store but the ones working the front end seem like they HATE their jobs and don't want to work let alone work in customer service. I plan on telling absolutely any and everyone that will listen to me about this terrible customer service!! Wow has this store sadly deteriorated since the grand opening. Rotten items, outdated items on shelf, moldy bread, spoiled vegetables turned upside down in packages, loss of bulk and organic food items, senseless rearrangement of shelves deterioration of deli, cheese and bakery areas and woefully inadequate checkout staff all contrast sharply to the store a year ago. For goodness sake, DO NOT try to use Kroger Clicklist shopping at the Killian location. They were doing great for months, but now in the past 60 days customers are fighting over parking places for pickup and wait times are 1.5 to 3 hours past your pickup time. Awesome to have Kroger Marketplace nearby, Haven't explored the market yet. The entrance itself is so inviting, with a large display of beautiful sunflowers to greet you. Step to your right, beautiful flowers, some artfully arranged. The colors and variety invite you to literally stop and smell. Next follow along is Starbucks. Then past Starbucks is the Hot/Cold food section for to eat here or to go orders. The variety is awesome. From fresh salad items, to mixed pasta, potatoes salad; to Gourmet sandwiches to Personalized pizza to hot items including soups, Asian hot bar; sushi bar with fresh sushi. The convenience is, there are several self service pay stations, an area where you can enjoy your meal, air conditioned, with TV. Nice to have this option close by instead of traditional fast food. read more

As a grocery store it was perfectly fine. I went into the deli to get some chicken for my kids for dinner. Stood there waiting for five minutes before someone came over. All I wanted were some chicken strips and I was told "we don't have any of those right now". Looked around for stuff for grab and go and there was a very limited selection. It's a decent grocery store. BIG as hell! Brand new. You would think prices would be a little cheaper since brand new store, but not. Got a zillion things in there from groceries to clothes, school supplies, Boars Head meat, Soda Stream supplies, mini fridges and microwave ovens and a Starbucks. I've been in there twice with the first time a not-so-good experience as the cashier was unpleasant and talking to the next customer in line before I had even checked out which I thought was rude. Tonight's visit was a good experience. Again, BIG store, big parking lot with hard to find far and away spaces to be had. I thought we were going to get run over by a motorist in the parking lot because they were driving too fast down the main strip in front of the store, definitely something they should address ASAP. read more

Love this place though I live no where near it. It is on a route I take frequently visiting family in SC and GA. I enjoy making a stop there to stretch my legs and browse. I've yet to leave without a purchase. From Starbucks, the deli, the pharmacy and even apparel I find so much choice and value. It's a huge store but it's clean, well-lit and easy to navigate and find what you want. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate a busy weekend crowd. My only issue has been with the gas station. The hoses are not long enough to reach from the pump across opposite side of a car from the gas tank. This results in long waits and congestion around the pumps. Long gas hoses like those at Costco would alleviate the problem. Additionally, one or more pumps is always out of order and I always seem to pull up to that particular one. What's up with that? By now, all the bugs should be worked by now. read more

I tried to use their customer service department but the person supposed to be working there had left so I had to wait. When she got back rather than help me, she then made a phone call without acknowledging my presence. She got off the phone and then started a conversation with another employee that was a minimum of twenty feet away and still didn't acknowledge me being there so I proceeded to leave at which time she asked if she could help me so my reply was no, you choose NOT to help me. I proceeded to the checkouts where a young woman named Sharon rang me up and was very helpful. Sharon got me a Kroger's card which is what my trip to customer service was for and she made it a much more pleasant shopping experience than it started off being. read more
