Saturday 6/22/24 went to pick up deli meat for church group meeting tonight. 2 ladies were in front of us with orders. Only one deli person helping them with their orders, and no one helping her. So the wait was a little long. Toward the end of the wait, some other deli people started helping her, which was nice but they probably should have helped her sooner. Roast beef and smoked turkey breast were on sale so we got 1.5lbs of each. Excellent and delicious. read more

This is a pretty good Publix! I don't like it quite as much with the new layout, but it's still probably my favorite Publix in Columbia! The store is always clean, the staff is very friendly, and the deli is excellent. All-in-all, it's a very solid store! read more

Publix is always great and the deli is always top notch so it was refreshing to have the usual excellent service in the deli this evening. Joshua helped me and did a fabulous job. Cheese, roast beef, ham, chicken. All sliced to order quickly, as I wanted and wrapped properly. The rest of the store is clean, bright and we'll stocked. The cart corrals were all empty and plenty of carts to grab at the door. Checkout was quick too! Five stars for this Publix. read more

First of e, we went here yesterday (Saturday June 29) certain areas there was a nasty odor when entering or leaving the store and certain areas in store, it smelled like exhaust!! Store looked like it was falling apart, some duct tape on parts of the floor, areas if the ceiling that had wires and holes in it! If they at remodeling there were no signs of it! Overall store was nasty!! People though were super nice!! I'd find another one to go to!! read more

In the time of Covid-19, when my social life and my out and about activities have come to a slowdown I turn to my everpresent and favorite new hang out party space....the grocery stores of America. How thankful I am that such a small and lovely slice of heaven exists right here in our backyards. This Publix is clean, takes health and safety to the highest level, continues to provide food and other essential items, and they have the best people. Happy and friendly people who are gentle and well mannered in how they help you. I am so thankful to have a Publix store during our great health pandemic situation. It makes you feel a little less fearful picking out beautiful organic produce, selecting artisan cheeses and browsing the frozen sections, missing the days gone by when going out to dinner was an option. America, we will overcome and be stronger from this time. DELI - customers advised: don't use the app to order food from the deli as the kinks have yet to be worked out as of November 13, 2020. I've tried nine times and FIVE out of the nine times rendered me NO FOOD and completely frustated and HANGRY! the people in the deli are 'nice' and the food is 'good' but the lines are long and the lining up is always confusing, so with great optimism I have repeatedly tried ordering in advance, paying in advance, and in a perfect world my sandwich would be made in advanced and ready to go, but as I've said, 5 out of 9 times NO GO and a complete waste of time. walking out of a crowded grocery store with less money than i had previously and no FOOD. blargh !!! read more

The prices are great, the shelves are well stocked, the food is fresh, the fresh meat is great, and the people could not be any nicer or friendlier, and of course the store is always clean. I miss Publix! I also miss Simply Ground Honey Roasted Peanut Butter which is not sold in any grocery store in Alaska (that I know of -- and believe me, I've looked). So I stopped here to stock up on Peanut Butter, to mail back to Alaska, because that's how I roll. And they had several of the peanut butter in question. And they had an immaculate and clean store that was well lit and well stocked. Several employees asked if I needed help and the cashier was friendly. "Where shopping is a pleasure." I wish we had Publix in Columbus. It's such a nice, clean store, with good sales. The buy one, get one deal means if you buy only one it's half-price, per my aunt. Do other groceries do this? I don't know. While visiting my aunt, we stopped in for a few groceries and got some great deals. I even found a beach cover up/dress for $14. It's a super supermarket. read more

Beware of the Weekly Flyer "scams" at this location. I visited this store today with a shopping list created on the Publix app and loaded with several deals that started today. I began noticing that several of the main items I specifically came to purchase were either not on sale at all or had the terms significantly changed ("buy one get one free" had become "buy TWO get one free", etc.). When I asked the checkout staff why this was the case, they said Publix adjusts their sales based on location. There can only be one reason that I can think of why they would do that. This store is located in an affluent section of Columbia, so Publix obviously does not feel compelled to offer customers at this location the same deals available at other locations in town. This leaves a very bad taste with me and I will definitely be shopping at the nearby Lowes and Fresh Market from now on. read more

I love to shop here, from the stockers to the manager's everyone is ready to help you out. The meat department lets you sample what you want to buy and take home. The produce department always has fresh produce and what I'm looking for. The shelves are fully stocked and always have new food items to try. When you check out they always have many lines to accommodate you. I've have seen manager's jump on a register to get the lines moving this is what I like to see. I choose to drive a little further for this kind of service at a grocery store in the midlands. read more

I ordered a cake for my bday & i arrived exactly on time to find that my cake looked old, the icing was very uneven and the design was so sloppy & ugly. i had the woman redo it which she was kind about but i still hated the cake and left with it anyway because i was over it.. then i get home and MY CAKE IS DRY (even if i warm it up) im annoyed this is honestly the worst cake ive gotten from them & i actually purchase one every year read more

Usually love shopping here, but today not pleasant. They had a wine marked as clearance with clearance price. It did not ring up as clearance. Bobby went with me to check and said vine did have tag with clearance. Bobby said it was wrong and he couldn't do anything! I said you need to remove tag. He said only wine people could not Publix. The Forest Drive Publix really is where shopping is a pleasure! I hate grocery shopping. I can't stand it. The only place I will grocery shop is Publix - specifically this Publix. It totally has the best bakery and deli and you just won't find a better seafood man than Lester! He knows boyfriend and I and always asks how we are doing. Gotta have a chat with Lester. Speaking of seafood, it always looks impeccable. I've never looked at anything and though... "Hmmmm.... I don't feel confident eating that." The same goes for the meat section. All the employees are awesome at helping you find items... they walk you to the item and don't just tell you the aisle. I also get prescriptions filled here and they know my name as well. Sometimes I get a little wave and a smile when I come in even if I don't have a prescription to pick up. I also like that sales are clearly labeled and they have the best BOGOs in the grocery game! They accept nearby competitor coupons too. Bonus. My only nag is that if I can't find an item and ask for a rain check then they have to call the back to see if there are any in the back before they write the rain check. I've looked on the shelves and now I've already checked out. I don't think I should have to wait for you to take an extra step because you didn't have the shelves stocked. NEVER have I asked for a rain check and they actually had something in the back. read more

I shop at this Publix just about every week. The staff is always helpful and the cashiers are super-friendly. They don't get grumpy about coupons. The produce tends to be pretty good but sometimes items will be out for no apparent reason. The parking lot at Trenholm Plaza can be a nightmare. That isn't the fault of Publix but it does make the experience stressful at times. Try to avoid senior discount day and you'll be in better shape. read more

They are not enforcing customers' mask usage. Many employees are keeping their masks over their mouths, but not covering their noses. I provided that feedback to the manager who reported the employees had received mask training, and she would discuss with them. Don't get me wrong I love Publix however the pharmacy at this particular location sucks. Several times I've come in to pick up prescriptions the attendants are rude and very unattractive. I asked months ago to have the prescriptions transferred but to my avail that never happened. There is always a problem with them not having all the prescriptions ready at the same time it's just not worth the hassle. I picked this location not for convenience but for the service because in the past dealing with the brand I've always been pleased but the pharmacy in this particular store really has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I cannot say anything good about this pharmacy. On several occasions after waiting 30 minutes or so I was told "sorry, we do t have that item or we don't have enough to fill your prescription ". Today I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, 40 minutes later (with two sick kids standing there) it was still not ready. If they would be realistic about the time frame I would have taken the kids home and came back later. Every time I have been here it is excuse after excuse. I am currently in the parking lot of publix in disbelief. I used to love this place. I practically grew up in publix. My aunt was the deli manager at a location for most of my childhood. Every year I went to work on "take your child to work day" with her. I loved my experiences there. Up until recently it was the ONLY place I shopped. I'm well versed in Publix's values and customer service practices. However, I could not justify shopping here because of how I was treated and the quality of food. On several occasions their was expired food on the shelves that ended up in my home because I trusted I was buying fresh food. TonIght I decided to grab a couple of items for dinner after a long day of work and I ultimately ended up putting my own bagged groceries in my cart. And this was not the first time it happened. The guy that was bagging my groceries ignored my request for paper bags and bagged my goods up in plastic and walked off from the register without putting them into the cart. He just left me standing there. I was thoroughly insulted and hurt. This is not the Publix I know and loved. I'm not confrontational so I didn't ask for the manager on the spot. I grabbed my own groceries and I left. Guess I'll continue to shop at Lowe's groceries at this point. I've never had any issues there! read more

I love to shop here and it's almost a perfect grocery store, except for the deli. This might be the slowest deli in the history of grocery stores, but it is definitely the slowest publix deli I've ever been to (in SC or FL). If you order and sandwich, be prepared to wait at least half an hour and don't count on them actually filling their "call ahead" orders, as I have a friend who ordered a sandwich platter for a kids birthday party a week before the party and when she went to go pick it up the day of the party, the order slip was still hanging on the back wall. That being said, the food in the deli is great, especially their subs and buffalo wings. If the deli here was brought up to the way the downtown publix deli operates, this would have been a five star rating, not three. read more
