I didn't like this place at all I guess they are trying to do their version of fair food?!?!?! I am not sure the donut burger and the seafood dog to me was nasty. My friend had the seafood dog and I had some of hers and well I am not trying to tear a business down but are these people the same one that was on St Andrews? That could explain a lot it wasn't good even then. My son friend had the nachos but it didn't look fresh at all. This is my new go to -splurge -on some calories-when I want a hotdog spot. My beau and I have been here several times and the spot is always clean and neat, the service is speedy and the food is always delicious. The owner/food preparer was busy the first time, but took time to chat it up with us the 2nd/3rd visit. He was funny, kind and personable. I had the seafood hotdog each time with the vegan nachos which did not disappoint. My beau had a hotdog with chili and he ate it so fast, I didn't even get to taste his food like usual. This is a cute spot to visit in columbia. They have spaced out picnic tables for outdoor dining , some with umbrellas and some without. This is a walk up bar so there isn't indoor seating and I'm okay with that. I had the veggie hotdog, sweet so it had sweet/spicy peppers on top. It was delicious! A classic, old-fashioned hole-in-the-wall. You know the type...doesn't look like the food is as fantastic as it is. Two things struck me when I went in. First, when you look around there are several "Don't Quit" type of signs up. Nothing big or fancy, just little reminders that you only achieve greatness if you push past the hard stuff. Much appreciated, and always a great sign that the owner knows that this is hard work, and does it anyway because he has a passion for the place. Second, the guy serving (I'm assuming he's the owner), is just happy to be there and to serve. They usually aren't open on Monday, and I caught him on a lucky chance. Being greeted with an honest smile is always a good sign. Now, for the important part. I grew up eating hot dogs with chili and slaw when I was young. Childhood memories. So, I see it on the menu, and think "it has been years!" So, I order one, and he brings it out in a few minutes and the first bite was heaven. Best dog, of any kind, I've had in decades. Bun was soft, dog was firm and very tasty, chili was great and the slaw wasn't too cold, and the taste was like my momma's. I don't know if he brings in his momma to make it or makes it himself, but neither the chili nor the slaw are out of a can. So let's start off with the ambiance. Love the mural and the community style picnic tables out front. Really fun on a nice day. I also have to commend the staff, the girl at the window was really sweet and knowledgeable of the products. However, the product itself leaves much to be desired. I ordered a seafood dog, against my better judgement, but I was feeling rebellious today. I was told it was topped with slaw, mac & cheese and crab with a "special seafood sauce". First of all, it would have been more appropriately named the "mac & cheese dog" as that was the predominant topping - and not a good one at that. Food has to be aesthetically pleasing first and foremost, and I was hesitant to eat it just from looking at it. The "seafood" was really imitation Krab (you know, the kind with the K) and the shreds were so minimal you couldn't even find it... So to call it a "seafood dog" is really misleading from the get go. The mac & cheese was loose and honestly, quite flavorless, and the "special seafood sauce" looked and tasted like a cheap bottle of store brand Italian salad dressing with a shake of Old Bay seasoning in it. The toppings were pretty awful by themselves that I didn't think I could try and stomach them together. So I scraped the toppings off and ate the hotdog bun-less, which to be honest, was a fairly decent hotdog. Its a shame they ruined it with all that mess on top. Having said that, I may come back and just stick to something traditional - because you can't really go wrong with chili and mustard. But I would definitely not recommend the "seafood dog", and if they choose to keep it on the menu I think it's only fair they change its name. read more

I came here on a family member's recommendation last weekend. I ordered a few different hotdogs, a chili cheeseburger and the owner convinced me to get the juice and waffle dog. EVERYTHING was excellent, including the customer service. There was a huge fan at the walk up window and they have a huge net to prevent flies from coming in the window. They bring the food out to your vehicle so you don't have to stand and wait after you have ordered. I even had a couple of my family member meet me there and they too said the food was amazing. The chili was great and my family members have been back a few times this week. I will be returning this coming week because this place is the go to for great hot dogs and drinks.
