I usually eat at Rush's about 2-3 times a year. Last night I was hungry and it was available. The food was hot and fresh and moderately priced but I personally like my chicken a little crispier and crunchier. It's just a personal preference the skin on the chicken is very soft. Not really what I like but it did taste good. My daughter had the chicken sandwich and it's very confusing to know which one to get unless you've been there before. We thought we order the one we toppings but ended up getting a regular. No biggie since it was her first time there. They also have some really good burgers! read more

I really wanted to like this place, but it was one of the worst burger experiences I've had. The burger was dry, the toppings looked like they'd been sitting out for hours, and the fries were cold and soggy. The restaurant itself wasn't much better--the dining area felt dirty, and the overall lack of attention to cleanliness made it hard to enjoy the meal. The staff wasn't rude, but they didn't seem to care that customers were leaving disappointed. It's unfortunate because every restaurant has bad days, but this felt like a place that has stopped trying altogether. At this point, it might be better for the owners to close the doors, regroup, and rethink the business rather than continue damaging their reputation. Always love a good home town favorite especially when you want a burger and fries without settling for a kids meal from a commercialized fast food joint. Rush's has always been my favorite as a little girl with their fried chicken baskets to the hotdogs but on this go round I got a Junior Cheeseburger Deluxe Basket no slaw double fries. Not a big fan of coleslaw unless it is all mayo and salt and pepper. No sugar in the slaw please. The burger was fresh but the bun was a little crumbly. For me it's always the fresh fries though that keep me coming back for more. Thank God they listen to customers and went back to the original fries from the crinkle. Headquarters location off 378 in West Columbia is the best as the have optimal customer service compared to all other locations! Hands down go try if you haven't! read more

The service is what sets this fast food (local) chain apart from others. The workers are all nice and they remember you. As for ambience, I would say that the restaurant feels very much like what I imagine the 80s were like. The food is also always consistent. The chili burger is perfect and their fries always have the perfect amount of crisp. The chicken sandwich is also really juicy (slightly lacking in breading). read more

I do not care what out of towners say. Rush's is %99 the best burgers anywhere especially when you are having a bad day. Quick service always a smile and great burgers. I don't get cheeses and the fills me up or even half a burger and save the rest for later barbecue sandwiches are my Moms fav. Been eating here since we cut school in high school. Came here late with my friend from NY. We've never heard of Rush's. Was very mid. The small cones were practically large and great especially for $2. I ordered chili cheese burger which I never got. Didn't feel I needed the check the bag when two different people at the window clarified my order. My mistake I guess. Tried to call the number on Apple Maps but it doesn't work. Such a great staple of Columbia South Carolina, I mean where else can you get great fried chicken, burgers, shakes and more all under one roof!! The crispness of the chicken is wonderful with a juicy bite after the snap of the crispy outer texture. The fries are great and the shakes make you want to take a longer break from lunch! Stopped here yesterday for lunch. The food was good and the place was clean. When I walked in, I was greeted by a young lady working the register. She took my order and told me not to move cause my food was coming right up. It was and I went to sit down. Forget about a regular burger chain eat here. This place was a pleasant surprise. Driving thru the area and Yelping for some new fast food joints to try I came across Rush's. Very good cheeseburgers and fries. I had the double cheeseburger with extra cheese and no mayo with a large fry. Nice size burger that tasted a little like a double whopper. The main difference was the burger was cooked on a flattop grill and it didn't come with ketchup. Overall, pretty tasty for a fast-food burger. Good, local, fast food joint. Fast, friendly service and reasonable prices. I grew up with Rush's and, thankfully, the food has remained consistent. This was my first time ever going to a rush's . They don't usually have these in upstate SC . For the first time , I thought it was pretty good. The staff was friendly , meaning as soon as you walked in you were welcomed . I think this is a good spot if you want to grab something quick and tasty. When i'm in West Columbia I always pass this place but never stopped for years why I don't know know but one night after coming from a late dinner we stopped here and had a sweet tooth snack.Chocolate cake with Ice cream and whipped cream on top and a fried apple pie with whipped cream and to save my life I can't remember the names of these great snacks! The fifth place on our cheeseburger crawl was Rush's, a local fast food restaurant chain with six locations throughout Columbia (as well as two other locations in Lexington and Camden). It was a rainy day, but any day is good for cheeseburgers and fries in my book, so we drove over to the Rush's on Broad River Road by the I-26 to see if Rush's really offered "Fabulous Food . . . Fast!" The menu at Rush's is clean and simple, with three main types of food of the menu: it offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and chili burgers, chili and slaw dogs, and fried chicken. A regular cheeseburger comes all the way with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion. A couple of general comments about the cheeseburger at Rush's: I thought the cheeseburger was pretty similar to Palmetto Sandwich Shop except without the pimento cheese, meaning it was a simple, solid cheeseburger that didn't stand out very much...the burger was definitely made fast though - less than a minute after ordering, the food was ready. Flarké liked that the fries came in a cup. Hambone added "It is better than fast food", and Andy said "This cheeseburger is a step above McDonald's - at least it didn't make my stomach hurt." This spot was really delicious. I didn't have high expectations considering it's a burger joint but I was fairly impressed. The food was not greasy at all and the fries were cooked to perfection. I got a double cheeseburger and it was delightful, no grease dripping off the patties and no soggy buns. I also got a side of coleslaw which was ok, nothing too special. Rush's has been in town longer than many of us. It's a family-owned, small, nine store regional chain with locations in Columbia, Lexington and Camden. You might remember Saturday excursions to Bum's Bummers that started with a milkshake and cheese burger basket at Rush's. Rush's started out in the 1940's as a dairy farm. The family later added a drive-in which ended up burning down and was reopened as a Dairy Queen. Their menu is true to their fast food roots with burgers (and dogs), BBQ, fried chicken and to-die-for milkshakes. The hot dog menu is limited at Rush's but offers two tried and true Old Faithfuls: slaw and hot dogs. At Rush's, hot dogs come with mustard, chili and onions. The slaw dog boasts mustard, onion and chili. They do not press their hot dogs flat like they are known to do to their burgers. How the Dog Fight went down. The Verdict Move over bacon, there's a new face in last place. According to Jeff, Dog Fight Director of Math and Spreadsheet Maintenance, Rush's took a non-so-fabulous freefall to last place with a score of 17.75. The bottom line? I asked for a sweet tea. Not only was the tea sweetened in a seemingly half-assed manner, but there was also a lemon in the tea that I did NOT ask for. I understand that perhaps Rush's thinks that their lemons are fancy and complimentary, but I am severely allergic to lemons. How about instead of focusing on garnishing your Yankee-flavored "sweet" tea with some fruit, you focus on actually sweetening it. Wasn't worth the ridiculous $1.76 spent. read more

The speed with which our order was prepared did not effect the quality of the food! Probably the best hamburger that I have had in a while.
