Good breakfast, excellent service. The young ladies at the front were nice and we were seated within minutes. The waitress Crystal was quick and very helpful for our first time in. The food runner was excellent. The food was a typical breakfast with an up charge of 1 dollar for two eggs. We had a pancake breakfast and a skillet bowl, for me, the eggs were well done, the bacon good but while the pancakes were a nice size, they tasted blah. Thought I'd give this place a try. It was good, not the absolute best out there but not the worst either. They did forget the special request for turkey sausage on my veggie egg benedict, but that was ok. The waitress was awesome though, very attentive and was able to remove the extra cost on the recipe which was appreciated. One of the best gems though, is they actually still had two more cases of Siera Mist, not Stary. I was sooooo excited and ordered some. It was a chilly day outside, and the restaurant didn't offer much warmth or comfort. Inside, it felt just as cold. The waitress didn't introduce herself, but she was friendly. I eat here every Friday morning for breakfast with friends. The food is always spot on and the grits are always a perfect consistency. Finally visiting That Flippin Egg in Evans, the brunch crowd was not to heavy considering it's a holiday. The hostess was friendly, greeting with a smile . Once seated we order the orange/pineapple mimosas which we're really good. We ordered the Ruben sandwich with fried squash and grilled chicken omelette with hashed brown and biscuit. The food arrived at the table hot, smelly good and tasting even better. I believe I've found a new brunch spot. They just opened one of these in Aiken and it always looks busy. We were in Evans today and figured we'd check it out. Hubby got the business breakfast and I got the chicken and waffles. Can best be described as cafeteria food. The chicken was 2 round breaded pieces of chicken...so not really sure what I was getting. This place came highly recommended. I stopped in on a Sunday morning to check it out. I am not familiar With the city, so I am not certain about what side of towwn this restaurant is located. What I caN tell you is that any map service can get you here with no problem. It is perched on a hill so it's easy to spot. When we arrived it was clear that this is a local favorite. The parking lot was full and patrons were standing outside. I was told by the hostess that the wait was about 25 minutes. That seemed reasonable to me, so we decided to wait. However, after waiting about 20 minutes we decided it would be best to just order our food to go. We placed our order with the host staff. It took about 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive. I tried the grits bowl that came with a biscuit. The food was ok to me. I did not understand why there was such a long wait. Overall the service was good, but the food was a little disappointing. My in-laws came into town and saw that this was number two on their must try restaurant list. So we came for a Sunday breakfast. We order coffee, hot cocoa, and some water. Food wise we order the chicken and waffles with a side of hash browns, a build your own sandwich with home fries, a side of biscuits and gravy and a side of oatmeal for our little one. Food was meh. Waffles were like any other waffle, just okay, but wasn't a fan of the chicken much. The hash browns weren't seasoned at all, and served to me on a broken dish. My husbands sandwich reminded him of McDonald's. It's wasn't bad, but wasn't what you'd expect from a restaurant. The home fries were 100x better than the hash browns. The biscuit and gravy wasn't bad. Not the best I've ever had, but not the worst. The oatmeal came out last, like everyone had finished eating-last. We were told that they didn't have any made and had to make it. The oatmeal was made with water and they were not steel cut, so I'm not sure what happened. Did she forget? Did the kitchen miss it? I wasn't expecting much just based off stars but this place deserves 5 stars and every one of their staff members deserves kudos. We were quickly seated and greeted by the sweetest server Destiny who provided excellent care to use. While observing around us this place was filled with locals that staff knew by name and everyone was joyful and helpful. The cooks blew it out of water though. The food was delicious and I wish we had one closes to home in Jacksonville FL! The vibes were spectacular and everyone working seemed happy which radiated to the guests. I have decided to review every restaurant I can find with a fun or unique name. In San Diego we have so many chains it's hard to do but here in the South not a problem!!! So while waiting for my food I thought I would start with my experience so far. The restaurant is clean and practicing social distance and cleanliness. Our server Becca was very nice and courteous. The menu was seemed a bit limited to me but then again I'm used to big restaurants, big food and big menus. Still waiting and seems to take a while to get our food. The restaurant only seems to be a half capacity so maybe half the staff?? Out of coffee and still waiting for food. OMG I am soooo full. (Foods here and gone). Delicious, excellent, superb! The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because that is the lowest rating allowed on here. The wait for seating was not long and the waitress was very friendly. We waited over a hour and a half for food after ordering. We were told that our food was being plated about twenty five minutes prior to deciding to leave. The customers seated after us got their food before us so that was our sign to leave. Went to pay for our drinks and was lied to by the manager as to why our food was delayed. He told us that the ticket was lost. We heard him tell the table next to us the same thing when they asked about the wait for their food. In my opinion this place is poorly managed and the staff was trying to make excuses to make up for it. We did not have to pay for the drinks. All the good reviews I read were written by people that had the mimosas. Mimosas are probably a requirement for good reviews. Definitely do not recommend this place. read more
