Decided to try Slim Chickens although I'm generally loyal to another chicken chain here in the CSRA. I placed an order ahead order for dinner and got the tenders meals for my husband, my son, and myself. I was impressed by the variety of menu options but the execution fell short. The chicken was okay at best. The fries were mid. Overall just a disappointing experience. Normally I would be willing to give a place a second chance but this was so disappointing that I don't think I'm even willing to do that. Maybe I've been away from fast food for too long, but i was not impressed. I ordered a 6 piece tender meal with fried pickles. The fried pickles were very dry and thin, and about 90% batter. On top of that, it was literally DRIPPING in grease, like more than ive ever seen from fast food. The tenders were nothing crazy either. I went here for the first time after my chicken-fanatic kids told me this was the spot to be and they weren't kidding. I was shocked to see this place had a low rating as this was the best chicken I've probably ever had outside of Chic-fil-a. We eat at other fast food chicken places all the time and none of them have a menu selection like this place does, not do they taste as good. Not to mention the service here was amazing by the staff, very friendly and helpful with recommendations. My family all had their food delivered to the table before I finished paying for our order, something I haven't seen done before. The chicken here just melts in your mouth, very moist and tasty with plenty of sauce options to either dip or have your tenders/wings tossed in. My family had a variety of food options like traditional wings, chicken tenders, and chicken wrap and everything turned out fantastic. My garlic parmesan wings had actual shredded parmesan cheese sprinkled on top which was a nice tasty touch. Well I've seen some good and bad reviews here but I had to come myself to take a peak. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but within 10 minutes it was filling up as was the drive thru The menu was simple to read and we placed the order within 5 minutes we received our food. Hot and fresh with my potato salad cold and well seasoned my daughter said she had hot fries and the wings were very good. Again not too busy inside but drive thru was. I drove to pick it up and decided to eat it there so it was more fresh than taking it home. I ordered a kids meal chicken tender with inferno sauce, potato salad, and a sweet tea, and an order of fried mushrooms. The chicken had good flavor, not TOO spicy, and the ranch to dip was good. I like that it comes with Texas toast. The potato salad was okay. I did like that it was not mustard based- bacon, cheese and green onions in it. I took most of that home, hoping to add pepper to it. The mushrooms were good. I liked that they were lightly breaded. They were pretty greasy, so I moved them to a couple of napkins to get the grease off of them. The sweet tea wasn't super sweet. Not my type of tea, necessarily, but while I was there a few people refilled, so it seems popular. My food was ready when I arrived so there wasn't any waiting. So, I'm from Augusta, but I live in Atlanta. I come to town monthly to visit my parents and the rest of my family. Slim Chickens is close to my parent's house and my mom told me I should give them a try, so I did. My Experience: I visited on a Sunday after church, so it was very busy. From the inside to the parking lot to the drive-thru, everywhere was packed! I decided to just wait in the drive-thru, as it appeared to be moving at a decent speed. The Food: I'm a tender guy, so I wanted to do a comparison between Slim Chickens, Raisin Canes, & Zaxby's. I ordered their 4 piece tenders with fries and a drink. I actually enjoyed it. The tenders had a really good flavor, the fries were good & crispy, and their sauce was really good. I also got a Raspberry/Peach Tea to drink which was also really good. Overall, it was pretty good. Yess I'm so happy Slim chickens is here where the old pdq was. I was a big fan of pdq and this is a great replacement. The chicken tenders are just as juicy and tender with 17 different sauces to choose from!! I especially love the cayenne ranch. The slim sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. Garlic Parmesan wasn't very garlicky but i could taste the Parmesan. I tried out the wings too but my favorite is still the tenders. The fries were fried perfectly and not too dry or soggy. We come here often because my 8-year-old loves the chicken here. And to be honest, the food is actually delicious. The chicken is juicy and full of flavor. Unfortunately, quality control is non existent. Three times our order was incorrect, missing chicken tenders or entire entrees. This last time, we ordered a cayenne ranch sandwich. It was great, except that the patty we were given was literally 3 inches long and a little over 2 inches wide. Basically this was a chicken patty made for Kristals or White Castle, but cost $7. I'd like to see this place stay in business. For a place with such good food, the ratings sure are poor. I saw the sign for this place before they opened and googled it to see what they served. At first glance I thought it was similar to Raising Canes but after looking further they serve much more. I saw online that they finally opened and decided to try it. I ordered the chicken & waffles and the 5 & 5 meal (5 wings & 5 strips). The waffle was good but it got a little due to the fact that they sat the chicken directly on top. The fried chicken strips were good as well. They were juicy and seasoned. I got the wings dipped in sriracha garlic sauce and they were great. They only problem was that half of one wing was missing. Instead of getting the fried tenders I got they grilled. They taste similar to Chick-fil-a grilled nuggets. They gave me fries even though I didn't ask for them but they were ok. They were soggy but they were seasoned well. I also got the slim sauce and it literally taste like nothing. I thought it would be similar to Canes sauce but it was not. The cayenne ranch was great. The drive thru was super long and I was in line for about 20 minutes but overall the food was pretty good. I would definitely come back to give them another try. read more

They're like the Triple-A chicken sandwich place but not quite major leagues. I stopped at some chickens because I had never been there before. It is a pretty nice place. It has chicken fingers and chicken wings for the most part. I got the Slim Chickens chicken fingers basket. Five chicken fingers two pieces of very nasty toast. And a whole pile of French fries. It was pretty good. One container of dip will last you for five chicken fingers. That's kind of good, cuz they charge you for an extra dip. I tried to ranch dip, and the Slim Chicken dip. The slim chicken dip is not bad. It's not too spicy. The bathrooms and the dining room are very clean. It's well worth your time to check out this place. read more

I clicked it only to be told to call the store. I walk inside. I was uncomfortable inside. No employees were wearing masks and no hand sanitizer in sight. My order was found sitting in a cubby for pick up. It was ready the whole time!! I took my order and drove the 5 minutes home. I unpacked our very cold dinner. The chicken was tough and cold. The chicken tenders are juicy, the fries are well-seasoned, and the sauce is tangy! The sandwich is good too- it's large and full of flavor. The brownies are an unexpected tasty gem in this chicken spot. Perhaps a little more unique but equally delicious are the jar desserts. I'm actually reviewing for my daughter. She took two of her sons at the location on Washington Rd, Augusta. She said the food was ok nothing spectacular but pretty good. What concerned her was that they were given a free brownie and when she got home there was a shard of hard plastic in it. She called the restaurant to just make them aware in the event that there could be more in the brownie mix and was pretty much blown off and told the next time she returns they will give her another brownie!
