On our way to Charleston SC we stopped overnight in Augusta GA. We decided to grab some supper and I came across this diner on Yelp. We went around 5 PM on a Thursday and were seated right away. A young lady named Kayla Jo was our server. She was fantastic and took great care of us during our visit. I ordered chicken and waffles with tenders instead of the bone in chicken. My wife ordered eggs Benedict. My dish came with strawberry butter, spicy maple syrup, and regular maple syrup. The waffle was delicious and mixed with the strawberry butter and spicy syrup it was delicious. Chicken was crispy and again adding the spicy syrup put the dish over the top. The portion was quite plentiful too. My wife's dish was served on a biscuit instead of an English muffin and with a chicken tender. The hollandaise sauce was cheesy but not overpowering. She enjoyed it quite a bit and thought it was delicious. The manager checked on us as did Kayla Jo frequently. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Traveling through Augusta I came across a familiar name. This location was smaller than the Florida establishments I've been too but clean and friendly. I was seated quickly. My waiter was John and he was very nice and attentive. I knew what I wanted so placed my order for sausage biscuits and gravy with medium eggs and hash-browns, coffee and water. It arrived in just a few minutes. Nice hearty meal, sausage gravy was very tasty, eggs were cooked correctly, hash-browns delicious. My only dislike was the biscuits. (-1). Very, very dense. I would have preferred fluffier/flaky biscuits. The dense biscuits required more gravy but because of the portion size I just scraped one clean and added that gravy to the other biscuit. My best friend and I went and we both had the Bissell Breakfast. When I tell you there was nothing but empty plates left over I am serious! The order came out lightning fast and my sausage was still sizzling! The waitress was amazing, checked on us and got everything we needed! This is definitely an 80's diner, the music brought me back to my high school years. The decor and atmosphere were fantastic! I love the green and white lights inside. I ordered the croissant French toast with bananas and two other sides on Uber Eats and when it arrived I was met with spoiled bananas on my French toast. I called to make a complaint about the dish and was met with the utmost respect and was offered to get a new order made on the spot. I didn't want to leave my home to get the second order so the manager stated when I did find myself back at the establishment they would provide me with a new order on the house. I didn't intend on returning due to the quality of the ingredients but when I did I mentioned the accommodation that was offered to me to the new manager Damian and he was extremely kind in upholding the accommodation to me. This is where the locals eat! My family always go to brunch after Christmas Day and this was our #1 choice this year. It wasn't that busy when we arrived, but this place can get packed. Just know it's worth the wait because you definitely get way more food than you expect. The diner has a hometown feel as well. This time around, I ordered the Bissell Breakfast. I substituted the pancakes and toast for a waffle. My sister had the avocado toast. Both were delicious! Again, if you're hungry come here because you're definitely getting more bang for your buck. This was not my first visit. In fact I previously referred to it as the "Meh"tro Diner because I wasn't that impressed. On Monday we were looking for a breakfast spot and decided to give it a retry. It was a rainy morning but the ambiance was welcoming. My 82 yo mom thought it was chilly. Our server Matthew promptly came to take our drink order. He was such a nice young man! Mom ordered the "Bisell Breakfast" which was 2 eggs, a meat, hash browns or grits, choice of bread and a short stack. I got a Western omelette, grits, and a biscuit. Both entrees were $11.99. On our first visit our eggs were cold but on this trip they were perfect. Mom always orders eggs over medium and few places do it properly but she said they did a fine job. The only criticisms we had were that the pancakes, while tasty, were tough. I had to cut it with a knife! The biscuits appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a spell and neither of us ate them. However, overall the food was good, the service wonderful and we felt it was good value.
