Haven't been to this Shane's location is years, plenty of seating for various group sizes and well situated in the shopping center for parking. All the food was great, but my oldest son said the burger wasn't that great and didn't even eat all over which says something because he loves burgers almost as much as I do. The smoked wings are on point, super tasteful and juicy. The staff here was very helpful and polite, loved the support they provided as I asked a lot of questions about the menu.

When I'm looking for my BBQ fix, I come here. The loaded BBQ fries are on point. I always get the peach sweet tea, which i love, and BBQ plate with the 2 sides. Usually, I choose baked beans and Mac n cheese, but was feeling frisky today and got the potato salad, delicious.

I wanted to thank the staff at this Shane's location their compassionate customer service while we so often go to Shane's for a quick tasty dinner, this particular review is something outside of the normal scope of restaurant service Over the years when ordering in or taking home leftovers all of our pets always knew Shane's and all clamored for a small taste of their delicious pulled pork this past Monday 2.10.25 one of our beloved pets of 17 years went into kidney failure and refused all food and treats, as her last meal my son desperately remembered how much she would beg for some pulled pork, basically the only "human" food she ever showed interest in so he immediately went to go get a small chunk to give her. The staff here mentioned their smallest portion was 1/2 lb but as he tried explained what he wanted, he fell apart knowing she wouldn't eat .5 and wouldn't have any other time to finish it, they very sweetly created a small bowl for him, free of charge to take home and she did eat a couple chunks of it happily as her last meal

If I give a half star I would. Not for customer service because she was great but because of the product that I received. I order the 10 piece smoked wings and received the smallest hardest wings on the planet. For $10.99 I didn't expect horrible food. They are not smoked but fried and they are hard as bricks. I am highly disappointed with this product.

This restaurant truly lives up toe standards in my opinion. I had the absolute pleasure of trying the Cowboy burger with Peach Cobbler and I'd like to say Well Done with the food. I've tried the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Strips at Shane's Rib Shack but never the burgers until that day and it was the best burger I've ever tasted at a BBQ restaurant. Wonderfully done and highly recommended.

Staff were nice. Food was okay. Ribs a little fatty. The macaroni and Fried okra were delicious.

Lunch ribs with fries and coleslaw and additional side of peach cobbler.

The flavor is good but the food was cold. Took it back up and hey had a new order out quickly. Service was okay as you simply walk up and order, the person who brought the food out was nice and polite.

Ordered rib and pork plate. Half rack of ribs and 1/2lb of shredded pork. Its supposed to come with 2 large sides according to their website as well as 2 pieces of toast. Well they only gave us 1 piece of toast and the sides were the smallest portions I'd ever seen l intentionally ordered a large sized dessert because they use the same 3 sizes regular, large, and pint, just to compare and what a difference there was. So dont trust the meal to come with large sides even though they list it as such. Also the macaroni and cheese is nothing shy of krafts blue box with bigger noodles, not very good at all. The taste of the pork and the ribs were good, although im not sure 4 ribs can be considered a half rack or not. The brunswick stew was also good. No complaints on the peach cobbler either. Other than their complete disregard of their own portion sizes and the dismal macaroni and cheese, it wasnt all bad, the meat was on point for taste. Picture below are the sizes there's obviously quite a difference from the large to the regular. We had gotten this meal because we were going to split it, if the sides had been the size they should've been then i wouldn't have been as upset as i was. I still would've been unhappy with the macaroni and cheese though, they definitely need help in that department.

It was two filets selected but you get four filets and two cheese corn muffins. I also got the Arnold Palmers and they were cold and refreshing. The first night dinner was perfect. The catfish was fried semi-hard so had a nice crisp and was tender inside. I had collard greens as a side on both nights and they were bumping. They weren't canned greens or didn't taste like them and they were cooks right and there was meat in them (they were seasoned). The first night I had the bbq corn on the cob it was good and had a kind of peppery type of seasoning coating on it I got the two cheese corn muffins both nights. And on the second night my second side was the watermelon (seasonal fruit) the melon was sweet and fresh. The only thing I will say is that I could tell that maybe there was a different chef/cook the second evening order because the fish was good and tasty but was not fried semi-hard like I liked it cooked (like the evening before) and the cheesy corn muffins on that second night was burnt baby! They had black burns on the outer sides. But guess what? I would still eat there again if ever in Augusta. I don't know much about the in restaurant service as both nights I ordered by a meal delivery service. Oh yeah the Arnold Palmers were large sized and icy and tasty and again different people making them different nights the one from my second night order was super sweet to me but still good. The only improvement I'd ask for this place is to get some hot sauce for goodness sake! They have tartar sauce but I wanted some cocktail sauce and hot sauce for my catfish.

The woman at the register was helpful when I asked what was popular on the menu since it was our first visit, but she wasn't very welcoming. She never really smiled, and I wasn't sure how ordering and seating worked at first. On the other hand, the server who brought our food was super friendly and made a much better impression. I ordered the ribs with baked beans and collard greens, along with the brisket mac & cheese bites. The ribs had really good barbecue flavor, although they were a little tougher than I'd prefer. The brisket mac & cheese bites were delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. The collard greens were pretty decent--slightly bland, but still enjoyable. The baked beans started off really good, but after a few bites they became a little monotonous and had a slight sour taste. I think they'd be even better with some ground beef or sausage mixed in. My son ordered the smashburger with mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was cheesy, gooey, and probably one of our favorite sides. The smashburger was just okay. It tasted like a regular burger, and I was expecting more of that crispy, charred edge that makes a smashburger special. The only other thing I'd mention is that we felt a little rushed while we were eating. Even so, the food was flavorful, the restaurant was clean, and I'd definitely stop by again if I lived in the area.

First I'll discuss the food (excellent), then service and comfort (pretty good), and finally move…read moreon to other factors (amusing but also disturbing). I've been disappointed by too many barbecues, even in the South where they are known for the genre. Patriot Smokehouse restored my faith that great barbecue must still exist. I got a 2 meat platter with two sides. Since I was camping I also ordered an extra meat and two more sides to go. Plenty for the lunch and two more meals the next days. All the meats were very good to excellent, fork tender but not falling apart, lots of smoky flavor and visible "bark". And each meat had a completely different spice rub, which I learned were all designed in house. I have a lot to cover so just a few words on each: Pulled pork: a good mix of mostly chopped with not much shreds; lots of flavor even without adding sauce. Brisket (the 2nd of my two-meat platter): tender and fork-cuttable, a bit too thinly sliced for my liking. Baby-back ribs: maybe the best I've ever had. No disagreeable gristly parts, and with an unusual "hammy" flavor (maybe from brining?) Sauces: they have 4 sauces, and they bring you as many as you request. All invented in house. A tomato-based, a mustard-based, a vinegar based, and an extra hot&spicy. I tried all but the vinegar and liked them all but especially the mustard. Now the sides. Potato salad: the potato chunks were not overcooked, a bit mayonnaisey but excellent due to the tanginess and bite of the mustard and who knows what else? Fried okra: well, I had to try it, and if you're determined to eat okra (rather than use it to thicken a gumbo) then fried is the only way - and they nailed it. Baked beans: sauce thick, sweet, and smoky, not the best not the worst. Garden salad (don't judge me; I needed some greens): nothing special; just iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes and onions, with shredded cheese; choice of dressing (I had Italian) Quantities: All sides were of reasonable size. The 2-meat platter wasn't balanced though; more than enough pulled pork and not enough brisket. The ribs: a half rack (how many is that - 6?) Other foods: The pecan pie was excellent with sufficient pecans on top, a filling that was not oversweetened, and a good crust. The strawberry pie: not what I expected. It wasn't a fruit filling but more like a mousse. Good for what it was, but I wouldn't order it again. Surprisingly they do not sell cornbread. Drinks: Lemonade, sweet tea, or ice coffee all come with the meal. Free refills on drinks. I got lemonade which was a bit weak but not too sweet. I don't think they serve alcohol. Service: Took slightly longer than I expected but she (cashier, waitperson, mother of the two chef brothers) did come by with a drink refill and kept me updated. She was pleasant and answered my questions about the restaurant's history and other things when asked. Ambience: first thing that struck me was the smoke. The first time I stopped by (to check it out for the next day as I had just eaten) they must have had a slight smoker malfunction because it was visibly wafting through the room - but not too thickly. Ahh, wood smoke and meat drippings; enticing! That's when I knew I had to come back. The room was concrete floored, wood trim stained by years of smoke, plank tables with clear vinyl coverings. Real silverware was provided and plenty of napkins. There was a TV but it was small and the sound was off. It was playing "Fail Army" the whole time which was fun! The music was alt-country, old rockabilly, and bluegrass; a nice mix. I should stop now but I won't. On to the "other factors". As you can guess from the name "Patriot Smokehouse" there's a theme here. American flags, "Don't Tread On Me", and the waitress/mother was wearing a silly red/white/blue hat and a shirt saying "God, Country, and Freedom" or something to that effect. The symbols abounded, covering the walls. It wasn't all cliché though. A poster titled "Weapons Of the American Revolution" provided at least some interesting reading, and a cartoon of a chicken, pig, and cow titled "Cluck, Oink, Moo" was cute. But then there's the sign on the front door "Lawfully Concealed Weapons Are Welcome Here". That sign is not a joke. Of course they are - and that's fine. But do you have to spell it out in big bold letters and offend those who might be uncomfortable about this? Some compassion would be appreciated. The newspaper review on the wall described it as "unabashadly patriotic" but that's not patriotism - it is jingoism. Want to make America great? That takes compassion, empathy for people different from yourselves, and humility. Judging by the theme here I don't expect that a move to "greatness" if it happens will start here. But I loved the food, enjoyed my conversation with the mother, and the people watching. I'd unhesitatingly come back and recommend it wholeheartedly.

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. The bean sprouts were a bit salty. Chili cucumber was well seasoned and refreshing, and the sliced fish cake was the highlight with a slight sweet and sesame oil flavor. Each dish supposedly comes with a banchan, but if you eat with another person, then you get 1 set of banchan only with 1 refill and additional refills cost $2.50 which was different from most cities I have been to with a more established asian food scene (Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, etc). jjajangmyeon 4/5: The jjajangmyeon had decent portions. The noodles were really nice and chewy, and the sauce on top had a slight sweetness to it that made it different from the chinese jiajiang mian I normally eat. There were plenty of zucchini and onion pieces, and the pork was tender and just a bit fatty which I enjoyed. Highlight of the meal. Kimchi Jjigae 3/5: The kimchi jjigae comes with kimchi, tofu, and pork pieces in a stew and a side of rice. The stew itself comes out piping hot but is almost 90% kimchi and minimal tofu and pork. Very few pieces of tofu and pork, unlike the jjajangmyeon which had more generous amounts of pork. The rice bowl it comes with is quite small. We ran out well before the kimchi stew was completed, and they charge $2 for rice refills. Overall, the food was decent and service is solid. Pricing was slightly steep with a bowl of jjajangmyeon (noodles with stir fry pork sauce overlying) running at $19 and a bowl of mostly kimchi and a few pieces of tofu/pork pieces costing $17. Their banchan/rice refill policy is questionable, but the food scratches the itch in a city with a smaller Korean population and minimal competition.
