Pulled pork, smoked sausage, potato salad and baked beans.

Loved this place. Very cool industrial place in downtown Augusta. The food was tasty. I really liked the fried pickles and smoked sausage. Service was great. I will definitely be back.

Located on Broad Street so near to the medical district and businesses this place is great for the after work as well as the weekend crowd. Typical bar atmosphere with a nice exposed brick looking wall across from a cool bar that has 6 screens for sports season and 8 beers on tap. Our server Faith was cool and always seemed to know exactly when to come check in. Great service! We got the baby board with the brisket and a peach state. There is soooo much meat on the baby board 3-4 people could have enjoyed it with drinks. I will say my favorite thing on there was the pulled pork and chicken. The sweet potato soufflé was great. There was not one bite without flavor. I will say I would have given 5 stars except they ran out of the ribs but we got double wings instead. My only critique is that the brisket could have been sliced thinner but e excellent taste in that. The peach state martini was cool and she adjusted. The sweetness for me which was great!!!

I had an outstanding first visit to Fifth and Fire. Arrived and was greeted warmly then seated immediately at a high top. I arrived a little before 6 PM and an hour or so later, it was packed including several large parties. My server was Rylande. He made the visit count at every turn. Great menu feedback, very personable and prompt as well. I would absolutely request him again on future visits. I asked for several sauce sample and ordered six wings to test the sauces. The wings were incredible and Hollar Sauce, The Hollar Sauce with Honey and The Alabama White BBQ all shined on the chicken. After that, ordered a puled pork sandwich, tossed the bun aside and ate the pork with the Carolina BBQ and some of the Classic and Sweet heat. If you like a Mustard BBQ on your pork like me, the Carolina was next level. Finally, the place is sleek and enormous! Well done in so many ways. This is a mist repeat for me!

They would have earned five stars just for the patio. Its large and spacious and multiple seating options and has a bar........BUT.....the amount of flies that were outside is abnormal. When we entered the lady at the hostess stand asked if we wanted to sit outside. I hesitated to say yes, but she told me it was covered and since it was a nice sunny day I agreed. Once we got outside she announced she would be my waitress....no problem she seemed friendly so we sat down and prepared to order. The patio was decorated for Halloween, actually the entire restaurant was decorated for the holiday. We started out ordering the sausage quest dip. The second she sat it on the table flies came from nowhere. Not one or two flies....A SWARM of them. By the time she returned with our food order I commented on the amount of flies and she says "yes we have a horrible fly problem out here and we cant get rid of them". If my grandson hadn't been having so much fun swatting the flies and shooing them from our food I would have demanded we be moved inside. Our party of three ordered the smoked and fried ribs. They were delicious. The mac and cheese had been made with too much flour/corn starch and it was thick and pasty. The greens had a heavy vinegar taste. Not bad but if you don't like vinegary taste you'll probably want to avoid these. Overall Ill be kind to our waitress because she was friendly and took multiple pictures of us around the Halloween decor. They've got to do something about the flies. That patio is a gem and would have earned them a five star review

Smoked ribs and smoked ranch chicken wings.

Girls night out and decided to try this spot. It was recommended by the security guard. First the bartender Trent was amazing with his customer service and fantastic drinks. He was attentive and prompt with menu options. The ribs were tender and Smokey. Fall off the bone delicious. I will definitely return.

Our first time here and when we arrived we were greeted quickly and sat quickly. Our server was good but also had a big party so he would have been quicker if it wasn't for the party. I ordered the brisket tacos 10/10 which were delicious I got potato salad as the side. The potato salad 0/10 don't recommend. I poured the honey holler which was sweet and had a kick the regular holler hot sauce was good too with an even bigger KICK lol. All sauces are made in house. The hubby got brisket and pulled chicken. He enjoyed the brisket and said the pulled chicken was a little dry. He had Mac n cheese and collards as a side both very delicious the greens are on the vinegar side more than sweet side. I would come back. He also ordered the maple bacon old fashioned which was also delicious. We also ordered fried pickles as appetizer comes with Alabama sauce which was good but we thought they tasted better with their ranch. 8/10 over all would come back. Just know lunch menu has small differences from dinner menu.

What a great spot. We sat at the bar. The fried bbq spare ribs was a great start. We also ordered pulled pork, brisket and sausage. All so tender and good. The Mac and chz, greens, and sweet potato was so yum. The bartenders were great. They were super busy as it was The Masters. Drinks are great. Loved the cowhide chairs and the wood ceiling. Just a nice vibe.

3 meat platter + 2 sides

Came here before going to a show at the Miller Theater on Saturday night and was sat right away. Hosts were friendly. Most of the indoor seating are high tops. Our server was Tony/Anthony and he was great! Gave good recommendations. Now the most important part of the review: the food! To start us off, we ordered the cheddar cornbread muffins with drizzle of hot honey. Between the two of us we split it, but definitely would not get if you are in a large group. It is a little over $5 for the "one bite" muffins. For the entree, we ordered the 3 meat plate + 2 sides. If you want brisket or smoked ribs it is $5 EXTRA for EACH time you want it. We got all brisket, $15 up-charge. I don't totally agree with that pricing when it's not like the portions are a huge amount, 6 slices of brisket in total. Our server recommended the sweet potato casserole, he mentioned that it is like a dessert, and I would agree. It was definitely delicious, but we could not finish it. We also got fries as the other side, it came in this cute metal fry basket. But unfortunately, I was not really impressed with the portion size of this either. While I am glad that we did come to check out this new restaurant, we won't be running back anytime soon.

Averaging out my 2 trips (to date). First was an evening play with a group of 6 of us. The table got the big board and loaded sausage queso. 3 of us got alcoholic drinks, and one Coke. We actually got our food before our drinks (water had already been at the table, yay) and then had to wait for sauces that accompanied the meats. Our server was very nice but she kept saying "sorry" a lot and I wanted to tell her to stop, that she didn't have to. Anyway, the table didn't like the Mac and cheese so much, and the collective thought everything needed more salt. (The pickle martini did not). I thought the brisket was pretty good, and unfortunately they were out of pulled pork so we couldn't try it. The second trip was for lunch. I'd seen the pulled pork sandwich special so decided to give it a go. It does not come with a side, but you can order one (and this costs less than the actual sandwich/side on the menu). I'm unsure if the sandwich is the same size, but it had a healthy amount of meat on it. I got the Alabama sauce as well as the house. The Alabama is a white sauce and quite tangy. I dipped my fries in it. The house BBQ had good flavor- I put it on my sandwich. I really enjoyed the lunch and thought it was filling. I didn't have to wait long, either. I'd come back- I didn't make it outside but hear they have a great outdoor space. The beams and the space are beautiful and quite open. Good addition to downtown.

We were at the Museum of History nearby and were looking for a lunch spot. My husband found this place and I am glad he did because it was delicious. It is a huge space with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and combo meat platters. We decided on the 2 meat combo with 2 sides. We chose pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese and the sweet potato casserole. Everything tasted great. We also had the fried pickles but forgot to take a picture. Service was good.

Queso Blanco Sandwich

Thoroughly impressed is how this review starts! Finally trekked out to try what we've heard lots about and we both left with full and happy bellies. The atmosphere was very swanky and open which made it feel more than just a usual BBQ joint. The service was great! Shocked we didn't have a wait despite it being a Friday Night. We started with fried pickles that came with an Alabama White Sauce, now I'm not sure what the Alabama sauce is but it was delectable. I had the queso blanco chicken sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. This hit the spot as the chicken was perfectly fried and the peppery queso with bacon made it delicious. The brisket tacos however were mouthwatering amazing, the brisket was perfectly soft with the pairing of sauce and cheese made it just what was needed! The collards were vinegary goodness as a perfectly paired side. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later!

Ambiance was everything! They have that perfect. Service was excellent as well. The server made sure to ensure we were taken care of at all times. My family and I were here to celebrate my Mother's Day in Laws birthday. They even gave her a gift card to come back. The food was plentiful. The prices for the shareable plate was reasonable. The food itself bland. I think we all agreed the sweet potato soufflé was probably the most flavorful. The portions were perfect but honest feed back is they need someone whose palette is familiar with BBQ. We also had an appetizer of the loaded sausage queso and it was by far filled with flavor. It won't take much to get them to the top especially with them being in Augusta. I hope someone adds the seasonings needed to keep them open and a staple in the community

Pulled chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole

I'd been craving BBQ and kept hearing people rave about Fifth & Fire, so I had to check it out. The spot has a laid-back, low-key vibe, which honestly speaks volumes -- no frills, just good food. The space is open and roomy, perfect for groups, and it kind of feels like you've stepped into a big family cookout with someone's uncle manning the grill in the back. The service felt like warm and welcoming. The menu is simple and to the point. While there aren't a ton of options for dietary restrictions, that's pretty standard for BBQ -- I don't think I've ever seen "BBQ fish" or "BBQ vegetables" on a menu before, so no shade there. I started with the buffalo chicken pimento egg rolls, and wow -- they were jam-packed with flavor and stuffed to the brim. A total cheese lover's dream. For my main, I went with the 1 meat, 2 sides combo platter -- chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, and an extra side of sweet potato casserole (because why not?). Everything was amazing. The chicken was tender and smoky, the mac creamy, and the sweet heat BBQ sauce had the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. My food came out in under 10 minutes, fresh and hot. I couldn't finish it all and happily took leftovers home -- which reheated beautifully. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Fifth & Fire delivers comforting, flavorful BBQ in a relaxed, down-home setting that feels genuine from start to finish.

Good bbq dinner with a colleague tonight…read more One of the more popular dining options in the south is BBQ. This one we chose tonight is a small chain, but offers an excellent bbq dining option. It's not a sitdown restaurant. You place your order at the counter then go find a place to eat. They bring out the food to you. Once you sit down, you're served with a plate of warm biscuits. There's some sort of cheese or something inside them, but it wasn't a distracting ingredient, just different. You always like it when you get the opportunity to try multiple types of bbq meat. The option for tonight was bbq rib and pulled pork. Not only are the portions very good. (had to get a to go box) but both meats tasted super. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The ribs were large and plentiful. The ribs could've been a little more "fall off the bone", but we're good nonetheless. There's only one type of sauce to put on the ribs, but it was a good and not too tangy. With this meal option, you get two choices of sides. Being a big fan of coleslaw that was one side. The other side was corn on the cob. The coleslaw was sweet tasting. The corn on the cob had a bit of a hot bite to it. Both were fantastic. Thought to go with the sweet tea option, but since I had it earlier in the day, I chose otherwise.

But South Carolina has the best BBQ of all the southern states when you can find the right stuff. BBQ Barn is the right stuff. They've got pulled pork with quality sauces, hash similar to what I make myself (therefore excellent), delicious southern sides, sweet (and unsweet) tea, various other meats (their burnt ends are yum!) and some desserts that look great but I haven't tried yet. They also aren't a buffet style restaurant which is a great thing in my opinion. They have a good amount of seating but I don't think they'll fit lots of large groups so keep that in mind. They do have a drive thru and you can order food to go. Unfortunately, they are also like other good BBQ places in their limited hours; they are only open Wednesday-Saturday each week so they can't be Sunday dinner or Monday emergency dinner unless you plan well ahead. The staff are nice and the restaurant is always clean enough. When we aren't making our own barbecue, we are probably getting barbecue from BBQ Barn (or the only other good bbq spot in the CSRA).

I also can't speak highly enough if the sauces. I am a big fan of the spicy georgia red bbq sauce. The gold is also great, just a mustard flavor. I'm tempted to buy a bottle the next time I visit. My recommendation - Come visit on a warm day. Order a platter of food (2 meats will give you plenty of leftovers) and a slice of cake. Sit at the outside tables and enjoy. Subject: Extremely Disappointing Order - Augusta Location (Grubhub)…read more I placed a dinner order this evening from your Augusta location through Grubhub. The order included: Two-meat option (beef with hickory sauce, pork with sassy sauce) Coleslaw Baked beans Six wings with sassy sauce Blue cheese dressing The order arrived in approximately 35-40 minutes, which was acceptable. However, when I opened the bag, several items were missing and the food quality was unacceptable. There were: No utensils No napkins No blue cheese dressing No hickory sauce Additionally, the meats were cold, the baked beans were barely warm, and the coleslaw was not at an appropriate chilled temperature. When I called the restaurant to report the issue, the person who answered stated, "I didn't bag your order." When I suggested that someone should look into who did, she laughed. That response was more disappointing than the food itself. This experience reflects poorly not only on this location, but on your brand as a whole. I will not be ordering again from this Augusta location or any of your other restaurants. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Keith Smith

Patriots Smokehouse

Patriots Smokehouse

First I'll discuss the food (excellent), then service and comfort (pretty good), and finally move…read moreon to other factors (amusing but also disturbing). I've been disappointed by too many barbecues, even in the South where they are known for the genre. Patriot Smokehouse restored my faith that great barbecue must still exist. I got a 2 meat platter with two sides. Since I was camping I also ordered an extra meat and two more sides to go. Plenty for the lunch and two more meals the next days. All the meats were very good to excellent, fork tender but not falling apart, lots of smoky flavor and visible "bark". And each meat had a completely different spice rub, which I learned were all designed in house. I have a lot to cover so just a few words on each: Pulled pork: a good mix of mostly chopped with not much shreds; lots of flavor even without adding sauce. Brisket (the 2nd of my two-meat platter): tender and fork-cuttable, a bit too thinly sliced for my liking. Baby-back ribs: maybe the best I've ever had. No disagreeable gristly parts, and with an unusual "hammy" flavor (maybe from brining?) Sauces: they have 4 sauces, and they bring you as many as you request. All invented in house. A tomato-based, a mustard-based, a vinegar based, and an extra hot&spicy. I tried all but the vinegar and liked them all but especially the mustard. Now the sides. Potato salad: the potato chunks were not overcooked, a bit mayonnaisey but excellent due to the tanginess and bite of the mustard and who knows what else? Fried okra: well, I had to try it, and if you're determined to eat okra (rather than use it to thicken a gumbo) then fried is the only way - and they nailed it. Baked beans: sauce thick, sweet, and smoky, not the best not the worst. Garden salad (don't judge me; I needed some greens): nothing special; just iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes and onions, with shredded cheese; choice of dressing (I had Italian) Quantities: All sides were of reasonable size. The 2-meat platter wasn't balanced though; more than enough pulled pork and not enough brisket. The ribs: a half rack (how many is that - 6?) Other foods: The pecan pie was excellent with sufficient pecans on top, a filling that was not oversweetened, and a good crust. The strawberry pie: not what I expected. It wasn't a fruit filling but more like a mousse. Good for what it was, but I wouldn't order it again. Surprisingly they do not sell cornbread. Drinks: Lemonade, sweet tea, or ice coffee all come with the meal. Free refills on drinks. I got lemonade which was a bit weak but not too sweet. I don't think they serve alcohol. Service: Took slightly longer than I expected but she (cashier, waitperson, mother of the two chef brothers) did come by with a drink refill and kept me updated. She was pleasant and answered my questions about the restaurant's history and other things when asked. Ambience: first thing that struck me was the smoke. The first time I stopped by (to check it out for the next day as I had just eaten) they must have had a slight smoker malfunction because it was visibly wafting through the room - but not too thickly. Ahh, wood smoke and meat drippings; enticing! That's when I knew I had to come back. The room was concrete floored, wood trim stained by years of smoke, plank tables with clear vinyl coverings. Real silverware was provided and plenty of napkins. There was a TV but it was small and the sound was off. It was playing "Fail Army" the whole time which was fun! The music was alt-country, old rockabilly, and bluegrass; a nice mix. I should stop now but I won't. On to the "other factors". As you can guess from the name "Patriot Smokehouse" there's a theme here. American flags, "Don't Tread On Me", and the waitress/mother was wearing a silly red/white/blue hat and a shirt saying "God, Country, and Freedom" or something to that effect. The symbols abounded, covering the walls. It wasn't all cliché though. A poster titled "Weapons Of the American Revolution" provided at least some interesting reading, and a cartoon of a chicken, pig, and cow titled "Cluck, Oink, Moo" was cute. But then there's the sign on the front door "Lawfully Concealed Weapons Are Welcome Here". That sign is not a joke. Of course they are - and that's fine. But do you have to spell it out in big bold letters and offend those who might be uncomfortable about this? Some compassion would be appreciated. The newspaper review on the wall described it as "unabashadly patriotic" but that's not patriotism - it is jingoism. Want to make America great? That takes compassion, empathy for people different from yourselves, and humility. Judging by the theme here I don't expect that a move to "greatness" if it happens will start here. But I loved the food, enjoyed my conversation with the mother, and the people watching. I'd unhesitatingly come back and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I wish i knew about this place earlier because they seriously have good legit bbq. Also wish they had a sign in the front of the restaurant so it's easier to find. But hey if you know you know.
