Ribs Dinner
Donald P.

Me and my colleague ordered the same thing but his dinner came with 2 slices of white bread while mine came with a side of corn bread (perhaps because I got collard greens and potato salad, while my colleague got baked beans and rice). Food was delicious. Good smoke ring around the meat and good smoke flavor. Nothing complex as the oak wood is used for smoking. Would have been interesting with different types of wood. In terms of the dining experience, you've got no one to impress here except your taste buds. I'm definitely going to try and come back here.

Eat it All BBQ is another hidden gem in Augusta. I found this establishment by the smoke rolling off the grill which traveling down Deanbridge Road. During these uncertain times I was surprised to see a grill master out and restaurant open for business. I had heard rumors about this place serving some For Real BBQ and I wasn't disappointed, the food was outstanding and the side delicious (I still haven't figured out what's up with sugar in the potato salad). There nothing better then some bbq fresh off the grill. The reception was warm and friendly as we entered, the establishment was clean and the pit master friendly and while we were there bringing smoked pork ribs and chicken fresh off the grill, the smell was amazing. if you get the opportunity I recommend you stop and try this BBQ joint out.

Mr. Monroe is very personable and has a wonderful southern BBQ restaurant. The ribs and the pulled pork sandwiches are excellent. This hidden gem is worth visiting if you enjoy great BBQ at a reasonable price this is a place you definitely need to try. The sides are excellent too! Whenever I'm driving down Deans Bridge Road and see the smoke coming from the pit I know Mr. Monroe is out there getting the Smoked Pork Ribs right! Don't pass by without stopping in and grabbing a plate!

Pulled Pork but I wanted my sauce on the sandwich because I eat while driving. Lol.

Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q - pork bbq

Good bbq dinner with a colleague tonight…read more One of the more popular dining options in the south is BBQ. This one we chose tonight is a small chain, but offers an excellent bbq dining option. It's not a sitdown restaurant. You place your order at the counter then go find a place to eat. They bring out the food to you. Once you sit down, you're served with a plate of warm biscuits. There's some sort of cheese or something inside them, but it wasn't a distracting ingredient, just different. You always like it when you get the opportunity to try multiple types of bbq meat. The option for tonight was bbq rib and pulled pork. Not only are the portions very good. (had to get a to go box) but both meats tasted super. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The ribs were large and plentiful. The ribs could've been a little more "fall off the bone", but we're good nonetheless. There's only one type of sauce to put on the ribs, but it was a good and not too tangy. With this meal option, you get two choices of sides. Being a big fan of coleslaw that was one side. The other side was corn on the cob. The coleslaw was sweet tasting. The corn on the cob had a bit of a hot bite to it. Both were fantastic. Thought to go with the sweet tea option, but since I had it earlier in the day, I chose otherwise.

Staff was friendly and establishment was clean. Ordered a couple pulled pork sandwiches, one with fries and the other with baked beans. Also came with 4 cheddar rolls. Both sandwiches were of good value and size. I prefer a hotter sauce than the regular bbq available on the tables. If you're the same, I highly recommend you request their sweet and spicy (habanero) sauce. It is perfect for this sandwich. Overall a great experience and so very tasty. Stop in if you're in the area.

I'm picky about BBQ, as are most southerners, because everyone has the BBQ they grew up with to set…read morethe standard and that varies tremendously geographically! But South Carolina has the best BBQ of all the southern states when you can find the right stuff. BBQ Barn is the right stuff. They've got pulled pork with quality sauces, hash similar to what I make myself (therefore excellent), delicious southern sides, sweet (and unsweet) tea, various other meats (their burnt ends are yum!) and some desserts that look great but I haven't tried yet. They also aren't a buffet style restaurant which is a great thing in my opinion. They have a good amount of seating but I don't think they'll fit lots of large groups so keep that in mind. They do have a drive thru and you can order food to go. Unfortunately, they are also like other good BBQ places in their limited hours; they are only open Wednesday-Saturday each week so they can't be Sunday dinner or Monday emergency dinner unless you plan well ahead. The staff are nice and the restaurant is always clean enough. When we aren't making our own barbecue, we are probably getting barbecue from BBQ Barn (or the only other good bbq spot in the CSRA).

My first two visits were only 24 hours apart because it was so good. This time I experienced the same delicious food and quick service. I am impressed by the quality of the food (so fresh) and how kind everyone is here. I like to ask what they recommend, because the desserts change and the cashier was sweet and indulged my questions. I also can't speak highly enough if the sauces. I am a big fan of the spicy georgia red bbq sauce. The gold is also great, just a mustard flavor. I'm tempted to buy a bottle the next time I visit. My recommendation - Come visit on a warm day. Order a platter of food (2 meats will give you plenty of leftovers) and a slice of cake. Sit at the outside tables and enjoy. There are fans outside if it's too warm.

I was thinking maybe bigger serving sizes and juicer cuts, but price to plate--it was fair enough. I spent $50 for me, my husband and daughter. The macaroni and cheese was just okay, so was the okra. I think flavor wise everything was okay to good, with room for improvement, but nothing was bad. My favorite parts were the sweet sauce, the brisket, and the name of the restaurant because it's my daughter's name. They also reposted her on their instagram which was very sweet and showed great social media presence.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Order - Augusta Location (Grubhub)…read more I placed a dinner order this evening from your Augusta location through Grubhub. The order included: Two-meat option (beef with hickory sauce, pork with sassy sauce) Coleslaw Baked beans Six wings with sassy sauce Blue cheese dressing The order arrived in approximately 35-40 minutes, which was acceptable. However, when I opened the bag, several items were missing and the food quality was unacceptable. There were: No utensils No napkins No blue cheese dressing No hickory sauce Additionally, the meats were cold, the baked beans were barely warm, and the coleslaw was not at an appropriate chilled temperature. When I called the restaurant to report the issue, the person who answered stated, "I didn't bag your order." When I suggested that someone should look into who did, she laughed. That response was more disappointing than the food itself. This experience reflects poorly not only on this location, but on your brand as a whole. I will not be ordering again from this Augusta location or any of your other restaurants. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Keith Smith

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

Patriots Smokehouse

Patriots Smokehouse

First I'll discuss the food (excellent), then service and comfort (pretty good), and finally move…read moreon to other factors (amusing but also disturbing). I've been disappointed by too many barbecues, even in the South where they are known for the genre. Patriot Smokehouse restored my faith that great barbecue must still exist. I got a 2 meat platter with two sides. Since I was camping I also ordered an extra meat and two more sides to go. Plenty for the lunch and two more meals the next days. All the meats were very good to excellent, fork tender but not falling apart, lots of smoky flavor and visible "bark". And each meat had a completely different spice rub, which I learned were all designed in house. I have a lot to cover so just a few words on each: Pulled pork: a good mix of mostly chopped with not much shreds; lots of flavor even without adding sauce. Brisket (the 2nd of my two-meat platter): tender and fork-cuttable, a bit too thinly sliced for my liking. Baby-back ribs: maybe the best I've ever had. No disagreeable gristly parts, and with an unusual "hammy" flavor (maybe from brining?) Sauces: they have 4 sauces, and they bring you as many as you request. All invented in house. A tomato-based, a mustard-based, a vinegar based, and an extra hot&spicy. I tried all but the vinegar and liked them all but especially the mustard. Now the sides. Potato salad: the potato chunks were not overcooked, a bit mayonnaisey but excellent due to the tanginess and bite of the mustard and who knows what else? Fried okra: well, I had to try it, and if you're determined to eat okra (rather than use it to thicken a gumbo) then fried is the only way - and they nailed it. Baked beans: sauce thick, sweet, and smoky, not the best not the worst. Garden salad (don't judge me; I needed some greens): nothing special; just iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes and onions, with shredded cheese; choice of dressing (I had Italian) Quantities: All sides were of reasonable size. The 2-meat platter wasn't balanced though; more than enough pulled pork and not enough brisket. The ribs: a half rack (how many is that - 6?) Other foods: The pecan pie was excellent with sufficient pecans on top, a filling that was not oversweetened, and a good crust. The strawberry pie: not what I expected. It wasn't a fruit filling but more like a mousse. Good for what it was, but I wouldn't order it again. Surprisingly they do not sell cornbread. Drinks: Lemonade, sweet tea, or ice coffee all come with the meal. Free refills on drinks. I got lemonade which was a bit weak but not too sweet. I don't think they serve alcohol. Service: Took slightly longer than I expected but she (cashier, waitperson, mother of the two chef brothers) did come by with a drink refill and kept me updated. She was pleasant and answered my questions about the restaurant's history and other things when asked. Ambience: first thing that struck me was the smoke. The first time I stopped by (to check it out for the next day as I had just eaten) they must have had a slight smoker malfunction because it was visibly wafting through the room - but not too thickly. Ahh, wood smoke and meat drippings; enticing! That's when I knew I had to come back. The room was concrete floored, wood trim stained by years of smoke, plank tables with clear vinyl coverings. Real silverware was provided and plenty of napkins. There was a TV but it was small and the sound was off. It was playing "Fail Army" the whole time which was fun! The music was alt-country, old rockabilly, and bluegrass; a nice mix. I should stop now but I won't. On to the "other factors". As you can guess from the name "Patriot Smokehouse" there's a theme here. American flags, "Don't Tread On Me", and the waitress/mother was wearing a silly red/white/blue hat and a shirt saying "God, Country, and Freedom" or something to that effect. The symbols abounded, covering the walls. It wasn't all cliché though. A poster titled "Weapons Of the American Revolution" provided at least some interesting reading, and a cartoon of a chicken, pig, and cow titled "Cluck, Oink, Moo" was cute. But then there's the sign on the front door "Lawfully Concealed Weapons Are Welcome Here". That sign is not a joke. Of course they are - and that's fine. But do you have to spell it out in big bold letters and offend those who might be uncomfortable about this? Some compassion would be appreciated. The newspaper review on the wall described it as "unabashadly patriotic" but that's not patriotism - it is jingoism. Want to make America great? That takes compassion, empathy for people different from yourselves, and humility. Judging by the theme here I don't expect that a move to "greatness" if it happens will start here. But I loved the food, enjoyed my conversation with the mother, and the people watching. I'd unhesitatingly come back and recommend it wholeheartedly.
