The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because that is the lowest rating allowed on here. The wait for seating was not long and the waitress was very friendly. We waited over a hour and a half for food after ordering. We were told that our food was being plated about twenty five minutes prior to deciding to leave. The customers seated after us got their food before us so that was our sign to leave. Went to pay for our drinks and was lied to by the manager as to why our food was delayed. He told us that the ticket was lost. We heard him tell the table next to us the same thing when they asked about the wait for their food. In my opinion this place is poorly managed and the staff was trying to make excuses to make up for it. We did not have to pay for the drinks. All the good reviews I read were written by people that had the mimosas. Mimosas are probably a requirement for good reviews. Definitely do not recommend this place. read more

I've been wanting to visit this place for awhile now, but was hesitate because of the negative reviews. The restaurant is situated on an elevated lot which presents a nice outdoor patio at which we could experience because it was close(short staffed). We had a lil wait before sitting, but we were seated after 20 mins. Not too bad. Our waitress was very friendly. Ok, to the food. My husband ordered pancakes and i ordered the cinnamon waffle and skillet bowl. The pancakes was overcooked if that can be done. It was so hard that we couldn't cut through it with a fork. The waffle was underdone, very gummy. The skillet bowl i really enjoyed. It presented nicely with perfect temperature and cooked well. I had grits,sausage,cheese,eggs and spinach. Now on to the ambiance. Pretty modern and the floor to ceiling windows are nice. However, the flies was a bit menacing. There was a moment where i was fanning my plate to keep them from landing. I figured they must have gotten in by the constant opening of the entrance door, I'm hoping that it's not common (hot Augusta weather brings out those pesky bugs), but it did put a damper on my dining experience. Came here for breakfast again because it was chosen by the group I was with. I'm really turned off by yet another disappointing experience. They had placards on the tables offering waffles and the picture on it showed a liege waffle. When I asked the server for more information, she informed me that they aren't liege waffles but that they just served regular Belgian waffles. If you don't know the difference, this may not seem like a big deal, but liege waffles are pretty uncommon around here and I was very excited by the prospect of having one only to be severely let down by their false advertisement. (I've since found exactly one place in Augusta that serves liege waffles. It's the new dessert place in the mall food court and they make them fresh.) Unfortunately things didn't get better from here. I then ordered just one pancake because our server assured me that they were "gigantic". I was sure it would be enough to fill me up if they were anything like the gigantic pancakes I'd seen at other restaurants. Imagine my dismay when my pancake came to the table. It was exactly like one normal sized pancake I could have ordered from Denny's or IHOP. Definitely wished I would have ordered more but I did not want to stay any longer at that point and keep giving them more reasons to disappoint. Honestly it's not worth your time or money. Decent food. Bad service. The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way about this place was that as we were walking in, a server walked in ahead of us and let the door slam in my fiancé's face. Not cool, sis.... This continued to the table as we had a less than attentive server. It wasn't THAT busy for her to be lagging as much as she was. We had to wait for our silverware, creamer for the coffee, refills on coffee, and she never returned with our to-go boxes. She sucked. Now on to the food. It was okay. Better than an IHOP or a Denny's. I ordered the Flippin' Pancakes with added strawberries. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting fresh fruit on top. Not the sugary syrupy strawberries. My fiancé ordered the omelette combo with the grits and biscuit. We could tell the grits weren't fresh. But overall the food was tasty. I think we're willing to give them another chance. So, the location is nice and convenient and the f-shirts are awesome. The food took a long time to come out. I loved the eggs Benedict but the corned beef hash was burnt and afterwards I was told that they ran out of sausage for the biscuits and gravy, so they threw something on it. My suggestion would be to speed up the service, and maybe shake up the menu. Not bad, but not what we expected. I'm sure others have their opinion so don't let mine dissuade you. I am in a girls group text (7 of us). We started talking about brunch and bottomless Mimosas and searched for a restaurant offering what we wanted. That Flippin' Egg was a suggestion so we tried it. First time. We pull up (using GPS as our guide). We are immediately impressed. It is a mixed crowd - neither predominantly white nor black. We park. We go inside and put our name on the wait list. 20 - 25 minutes. Doable considering we researched prior to heading in this direction. Once we are sat, we enjoy an enthusiastic server who ensures Mi Mimosas are never empty - including the time she poured more champagne than necessary and the time it tasted like dish water. So we are goin just fine. Until she brings the check. And she specifically says 'don't rush. Take your time'. So I gave my credit card, signed the slip, and proceeded to drink. THEN she started ignoring us. I asked for another mimosa. My friend at the table asked her for one for me. She never brought it. She had already picked up her tip - why bother?! Someone comes by asking for my empty glass. I tell them I want another drink. He says he will tell my server but I already told her. So, someone brings one - majority orange juice-barely any champagne. I drink it. I literally asked the lady sitting next to me to ask for one since it is obvious my server is ignoring me. She gave me her second one. It sucks because the two of us who came were prepared to let our cohorts know this place is better than another restaurant we frequent. The included scrambled eggs had hardened cheese as if it had cooked too long. The grits with the omelet were fine, the omelet was fine. We were never offered any condiments such as jelly, salt or pepper. The service sucked. We sat for a full hour before getting any food. During this time, the server never even checked in on us. Hopes were high and I really wanted to love this place. We wanted to catch the breakfast buffet which is only served Saturday and Sunday. First off, it was busy so the staff seemed a little engrossed in crowd management. Once we were acknowledged and our name on the list, we were told it would be about thirty minutes. There is very limited seating for waiting. Only four seats inside to wait. Most of the waiting area seating is outside. After about 25 minutes, the two of us were seated into a large booth meant for six people. There was a puddle of coffee or something under the edge of the table which I sipped on (see picture). Even without that spill, the floor in the entire restaurant is extremely slippery. I had already slipped on it when I came into the restaurant initially. Now for the food- mediocre is the best word to sum it up. We opted for the breakfast buffet. The setup for for the buffet is pretty sad. We found it odd that they serve you on the buffet, so you have no control over the portion sizes. When I asked for a pancake, she offered butter and syrup which I agreed to. She doused the pancake with no inquiry as to how much I wanted and it was a soggy mess. The coffee was good, the grits and biscuit with gravy were not bad either. The scrambled eggs tasted a bit off but it was difficult to pinpoint why. The home fires were overlooked and uncharacteristically salty. The bacon was perfect. The pancake tasted off and wouldn't have been good even if it weren't for the over abundance of syrup. Honestly, I felt the items that required the most human intervention in preparation tasted the worst. It almost seems like the kitchen may be reusing pans to cook items without washing them out first, causing grease/salt to transfer between the items. We had a wonderful waitress who was pleasant and cheerful. At the moment, it's debatable whether or not we will return and try ordering something off the menu. If so, only if we're in the area. And I'll be sure to check to sanitation score if we do. read more

Updating this review, on my previous experiences I am going to have to pass on this business. I went during Master's week and of course it was crowded so I am saying to myself this is good for business this far down Washington Rd right? I was seated fairly quick since it was only me, which I was taken to seating at the low counter facing the grill area and cooks. My meal was like blah and did not have that Evan's Diner pizzaz anymore. The scrambled eggs were a little overcooked, the bacon was too limp and the potatoes were too big, lukewarm and not seasoned enough even though I asked for grilled onions (well). The best thing about the meal was the coffee.... Now here is the kicker...while I am sipping on my coffee, talking to another patron and watching the grill area, I hear a cook relaying "Order up"-which I see the cook weave through fellow employees when I hear a thud on the finishing area of the grill line. At this moment I was thinking to myself, slow and smooth..smooth is fast. I hear what sounds like a bowl being turned right side up, followed by the cook making a scraping motion. I am thinking oh, whatever was in the bowl, get a new bowl and start fresh, normal thinking right??? (Wait for it... wait for it..) A few minutes later I see the cook handing a bowl of grits with three unmelted slices of cheese on top. Disclaimer(I could not 100 percent see the event from my vantage point) but, one could logically deduce from the following moments after said event that 1. Cheese is usually melted in/on grits and 2. the cook scraped the grits back into the same bowl and put three new pieces of cheese on top. Oh, there is more!!! The server came to the area to grab the order, unaware of what happened, but she takes the order turns around takes three steps, notice something on the side of the bowl, flicks it off and proceeds to take the dish to a customer. I turned and looked at the patron I was having a discussion with and he said, Yeah, I saw that too!" We haven't had issues with this restaurant in the four years we have been here and were looking forward to the skillets today. I got a skillet with home fries, spinach, ham, and bacon with cheddar and scrambled egg on top. My husband got a skillet with home fries, bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese, and gravy. Right away I noticed that my eggs had that plasticky film on them that happens when you overcook the white. You could've easily taken that film off prior to plating the dish and it would have significantly raised the presentation and appeal. My husband commented that his biscuit was cold, which is odd. I checked it and the bread was soft, but it was indeed cold. My toast was fine and tasted great. I will admit that the longer, skin-on potato chunks was not my jam. The potatoes were lightly seasoned, which helped the taste. When I bit into the eggs there was a hard piece that kind of hurt my molars. This was a bit beyond crunchy bacon in texture and strength. I spit it out and could not readily identify the object. I stopped eating, and when the waitress came back I told her what happened. The waitress removed the skillet and brought me another, which was super nice. The new skillet seemed fine but at this point I did not have much of an appetite. I am taking it home and will hopefully be able to eat it later. Service was great, but the food will not have me coming back soon. The food here is simple breakfast comfort food yet yummy. Not sure why all the bad reviews. We were seated quickly and our waitress was attentive. We had plenty of napkins and silverware, and the coffee was refilled quickly. The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant was bigger than the last location. Overall after our fourth visit here I felt I had judged it accurately to leave a review. All of My visits here have been great with no issues. Thank you for the good food and service! It's been at least a month since this place opened and they still haven't worked out their kinks in the kitchen. We came for a 9 a.m. breakfast, put our name on the list and waited only about 5 out of the 20 quoted minutes. We were seated at a tiny two seater within arms each of the next table and had to hear their conversation about ear cleaning methods. There was kitchen noises behind us, televisions and radio play all around us and yet, I learned way too much about ear wax (bleah). We were greeted by a friendly and obviously busy server named Melissa and ordered coffee through her. I'd like to point out that people walk around refilling coffee so it's nice that coffee doesn't fall on the one server to only take care of her tables. I ordered the Lumberjack Breakfast with corned beef hash, eggs medium, hash browns and rye bread. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict and sausage and biscuits and we asked that the biscuits be brought out sooner if possible. We people watched for about 34 minutes and I texted a friend about the restaurant. They pointed out we were creeping towards 40 minutes when our food did finally arrive and it was COLD. I mean ice cold eggs, cold bread, chilled gravy, lukewarm biscuits and cold hollandaise sauce. Thankfully my corned beef was hot so I plopped it on top of my eye and at least ate that. My husband was so hungry, he just dive right into the food regardless. Since we didn't have anyone stop by and check in on us, I was done with the bread by the time she did come by again and I asked if the plate could be heated up via microwave. She was genuinely sorry to hear the food was cold and offered to have it remade but I didn't want to risk cold food again. The service was great, the food was okay if they'd take away the seating in the middle of the aisle, it'd be a great place. My friend and i had breakfast there on 9/5/2020. Our waitress Yolanda was amazing, lots of energy and very engaging. We both had the business breakfast with bacon, house potatoes and bottomless mimosas. The breakfast was fresh and our order was in front of us in about 10 minutes. The potatoes were delicious and the mimosas were light skinned (heavy on the champagne) just how I like them. We sat outside and I wish the patio had more shade and that they didn't allow smoking (someone was smoking a vape). All in all i had a wonderful experience and will be returning. read more

We had been wanting to eat at this place for a while, but after today we wish we hadn't. We normally don't make a fuss over some minor problems, but today the problems were way beyond what we would tolerate. To begin with, the entire restaurant was filled with smoke/steam and was blazing hot. It was downright uncomfortable. Second, my wife's order was wrong and charred. We've tolerated incorrect orders for the sake of time and effort on the cook staff and waitress' parts, but today the corned been hash was literally burnt to a crisp and tasted like an old greasy grill. When we notified the waitress, she said she'd take it back, but argued with us about it being incorrect. My wife just went ahead and took it. Second round was marginally better. Not burnt, but still had the flavor of the old grill. Finally, when we were finished, we asked for the check. The waitress brought it and quickly whisked our plates away without even asking if we were finished (I wasn't). My omelette was ok, but my hash browns were literally so crispy and hard that my wife could hear me eating them (kind of like pork cracklins). I would leave such a scathing review, but this is entirely unacceptable. Food quality was well below any standard--I ate FAR better meals in Iraq than this (and I'm not joking). The atmosphere was like a smoky bar, except the aroma was burnt bacon instead of burning tobacco. We will definitely not be back to this place. read more

I got the delicious build a skillet with three large eggs, Swiss cheese, mushrooms and double bacon with hash browns and a biscuit. I asked for crunchy hash browns and I got nicely (not burned) crunch browned hash browns. The bacon is country style and nice and thick pieces that you can actually taste. Not just little crumbles. Delicious! The mushrooms were not canned kind but large flavorful 'shrooms! Nice to see a place get larger mushrooms in the meal! The biscuits were HOT, steaming and literally melts in your mouth goodness. Oh, yea! Both of our meals were tasty and probably the best breakfast in town. We are hooked. Flavorful without being dripping with butter and grease. I would highly recommend you go for a brunch or lunch to this place. We ordered a variety of foods to include the Strawberry Dream waffle, biscuit and gravy as well as French Toast Platter and a Traditional Benedict Platter. My family decided to go here for brunch after church. I had the Signature omelet with the best home fries. My husband had the Signature Skillet bowl with grits as the base and my daughter had the eggs Benedict. We all gave our food 5 out of 5. I don't understand how this place has such low ratings. The atmosphere was nice. Our server was friendly and professional. They were honoring all the Covid19 restrictions with masks and social distancing.
