First time trying this restaurant. The staff was friendly and the service was fantastic!!! We ordered a variety of foods to include the Strawberry Dream waffle, biscuit and gravy as well as French Toast Platter and a Traditional Benedict Platter. We didn't wait long to place our orders and everything was delicious and served quickly!! As you can tell by the pictures, it was plated beautifully as well!!! My family decided to go here for brunch after church. I had the Signature omelet with the best home fries. My husband had the Signature Skillet bowl with grits as the base and my daughter had the eggs Benedict. We all gave our food 5 out of 5. I don't understand how this place has such low ratings. The atmosphere was nice. Our server was friendly and professional. They were honoring all the Covid19 restrictions with masks and social distancing. Ate a late morning breakfast. My wife and I along with a younger woman. We both ordered pancakes for something like $7 each. Single large pancakes that filled the plate, but no taste. Syrup was stated as being maple, but we both agreed that it was not as we use maple syrup frequently at home. Brought with some sort of spread. Server stated they did not have butter. After we nearly finished another server came by to state that they did have butter. Too late. I ordered corned beef hash, two over medium eggs, and home fries with a side of biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was rock hard, which was disappointing as it's my favorite breakfast food. However, the rest of the meal was delicious. I paid for my food and was finishing my cup of coffee, the waitress came by and ask "are you done yet?" ....this was shocking, and very rude. This place was great. We got there early to beat the crowd I heard that grows rapidly as the morning goes on. I had the banana nut pancakes and added scrambled eggs and bacon; my eyes were way bigger than my stomach. The food came out quickly and the portions were so big I wasn't able to eat it all. I walked away with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a desire to go back at a time where I can get the bottomless mimosas. Had a party of 6 guests including my Mom, Dad, Daughter, and Son from out of town. Waitress took our order and when the food arrived, they brought my daughters food, but it was not what she ordered. The waitress apologized and said she keyed in the wrong order but would get hers right. We were all almost done with our food and my daughter's food still had not arrived. I asked to speak to the manager, and he apologized and gave me the same excuse that everyone uses now that he was short staffed. It's not a bad diner. It is certainly not deserving of commonly recurring customers though. I have been here three times, despite my lack of enthusiasm for this place, my father likes it when he visits from out of town. Design. It's as though the owner is confused about what this place is. From the exterior, you can expect elevated food, a well decorated interior with tables and seating to match. Instead, you get a gorgeous exterior that speaks to at least slightly elevated dining, but an interior that tells you you've made a mistake. As morning advances and afternoon nears, the sun blasts through the windows. This could be nice, but it's not. It's blinding, it's hot, and it's uncomfortable enough to interfere with your breakfast or brunch conversations. Food. It's not bad. Mostly. It's not good either. I won't hit it too hard on its hollandaise sauce, since I've only seen a few places actually nail that sauce. Theirs is thick and more reminiscent of mayonnaise. The dishes are plain and not impressive. The arrangement is more like Waffle House, except the food isn't executed as well and costs way more. Their breakfast sandwiches are terrible and dry. The bacon is overcooked and the assembly looks worse than if a child had tossed it together. In the end, in a town lacking of great dining options, it is no wonder locals are forgiving its lackluster food and service and environment. This location should beware, however, if a decent place does open and shows how it's done. read more

I had wanted to go here for a while. The signage and exterior of the building screams clean, hip, delicious but the actual experience was less than that. The interior had the feeling of a cheap diner - My 10 year old daughter actually said, "Did they run out of money building the outside?" Very observant. The weather was nice enough that we asked to sit on the patio. The service was average as in the wait staff was available but not particularly kind or attentive but also not rude. The food was mediocre, again the feeling of cheap diner. I honestly would go to ihop before I ate here again. It is just nowhere near as impressive as the exterior of the building may lead you to believe. Better to cook at home or choose an alternative restaurant unless the owners/management do a lot to step up the experience. read more

I loved Evans Diner and when it closed I was in a deep dark funk but they reopened this new restaurant not in the coziest of environments like the diner had but today we had a stellar breakfast just like it was when it was the diner. I've heard things about the service being slow and food not being hot from locals but forget that! It was on time and hot! And the grits were ammmaazzinng! For the locals I think they were working out the kinks, because today I was delightfully surprised on the whole experience Yolanda our server who was from the diner Days was a delight to see and as usual made us feel right at home. Better off going to Waffle House to be honest. The only good thing about this place is the service. We had a really good server, the only thing we had to ask for was napkins like another yelper said. The price was average for a breakfast spot. Me and my brother ate for a little over $20. They take Hero Cards as well, so our bill ended up being $15 after the discount. I ordered the Business Breakfast with Turkey sausage (which is an extra $1.75) with hash browns and over medium eggs. The eggs were cooked right but there was NO seasoning anywhere on my plate. The hash browns were over cooked and bland and he turkey sausage tasted like microwaved Jimmy Dean sausage. We also got a pancake. Before ordering we asked how big it was to see if we could share it, and was told it was as big as the plate. When we received it, it covered less than half the plate and wasn't cooked all the way through. Needless to say the other reviews were right and I'm not sure if I'll visit this establishment again. We gave this place a try after hearing mixed reviews. We were greeted and seated promptly. We got our drinks and reviewed the menu. When we ordered our meals we also ordered the sampler basket appetizer which was suppose to be onion rings, chicken strips and cheese sticks. We ordered chicken and waffles, hash browns, the daily special which was spaghetti with garlic toast and kids cheeseburger with only mayo. Our food came out...we had to ask for napkins. The chicken and waffles were not described as on the menu...it was two fluffy waffles and a GRILLED chicken breast sandwiched between. The hash brows were bland. The spaghetti was ok...however no garlic bread came out with it. We had to ask for it more than 3 times. I asked for cheese for my spaghetti and she brought shredded cheddar cheese. I had to ask her again for parmesan and my garlic bread. When you order the daily special you get two sides. I ordered fries okra and sweet potato casserole. The okra tasted like grease and the casserole was cold and not very flavorful. The kids burger didn't have mayo as requested. The server came to check on us and we questioned the chicken...she said they ran out of tenders...so she told us after the fact. We asked about our appetizer..and we asked for just onion rings since they were out of tenders. When she finally brought that out it had rings and cheese sticks. The onion rings were good, the cheese sticks were really thick and not very warm. They may have been a little better with some marinara sauce to dip them in. The server kept going over and talking to the whom I assumed was the manager. He came over and apologized for the chicken mix up. He asked if we needed anything and I said i have asked for garlic bread 3 times and nobody had brought it. He said "I will personally go to the kitchen and get it for you". He then walked back to the front and greeted customers as they were coming in the door. He never went to the kitchen for my garlic bread. However, some other server brought me my bread. He came over again and apologized and said he would take care of our meal and that they "still had kinks to work out"...and was shaking his head. Our server walked by a few more times, asked if we needed anything and we said we were done but she still left dirty dishes on the table. I'm hopeful they work these kinks out. Looking at previous reviews I was presently surprised with my experience. I arrived on a Saturday morning with my two boys and they got me seated pretty quick. The menu was simple enough and I ordered the chicken n waffles, yogurt parfait and the children's French toast. All the items were good. My server was the best part. She was always offering to bring stuff for the kids and constantly picking up dirty plates or napkins. Several small details gives them a 4 and not a 5 star in my book. One, the entry way is very cluttered. It is a small desk and one person takes the receipts and also helps people get in line for their seat. The server brought me coffee, but I ordered water and orange juice. That wasn't a deal breaker. We ordered our food and it was like we became invisible. It was over 30 minutes without ever being checked on. I asked the waitress if they were still working on our food, and she returned immediately with our food. It was warm like it had been sitting. Hubby and I tried this establishment for the first time. They forgot my husband's pancakes and brought them when he was almost finished with his breakfast. The couple sitting at a table next to us had ordered their meal before we were seated and received their after ours. We then heard him complaining that his waffles were cold ... so cold that the butter sat on top and wouldn't melt. It was their first time there, as well. I ordered a veggie omelette, rye toast, and fresh fruit. It was delicious. I mentioned to the cashier on the way out that the floors were dangerously greasy/slippery... that the bathrooms were even worse. She told us that the dining room floors were greasy because people keep dropping food on them (?). The bathrooms too(?). Hubby and I are business owners,too. It actually appeared to be the cleaner they used to clean the floors (for sure in the bathroom). Anyway, wish I could rate them higher and will eat there again in hopes of a better experience ... and rating. They were previously the Evan's Diner ... a much smaller place... this place is bigger and nicer.... adjustments need to be made all around to accommodate customers better. read more

This is a difficult one form me to write. I'm hopeful that when I go back after giving them the chance to work out the kinks - I will be able to edit my post and give them a better review. I was so excited that The Evans Diner Part II was open. That ended when I walked in the door and couldn't see the back of the place because there was so much smoke and grease - I think there is a serious ventilation issue that needs to be addressed. We sat down and the same waitresses from Evans Diner waited on us. This was nice to see. The menu is largely the same as before. The nice thing about this place is that there is more space inside than when they were at the old location. Our food arrived - and we had to ask for flatware. I know that may seem petty - but it was annoying. I am a big eater. I love food. I did not finish my breakfast because it was gross. First - they messed it up and gave me the wrong thing - no biggie - but when the has browns came out, they were so crunchy, I couldn't eat them. So disappointing. So - to sum up - I will give them another try. I see there are a lot of other disappointed fans of Evans Diner - and I am hoping this was only a matter of not having worked out all the glitches with their new location. read more

Ate here the for the first time 7/27/19. The 4 in our party ordered different items. Our food arrived about 30 mins. after we ordered. All the food was lukewarm at best. My wife's country friend steak appeared to be be a frozen patty, too well formed to be scratch. The Hollandaise sauce for my son's and grandson's Eggs Benedict was the consistency of a thick pudding, didn't even fall off a spoon. My sausage gravy that l had to ask for a 2nd time as they forgot the 1st time was the same way. Everything was very bland.
