My favorite was probably the dirty banana (tasted like breakfast.....banana bread and coffee), 2nd favorite was the one with ube condensed milk....what a pretty purple color, I'd say the salted caramel would be 3rd....such a classic and last for me was the peanut mocha. The tower itself was really pretty. We also tried many of the small plates (I forgot to photograph the food) that were indeed small and a bit overpriced but everything did taste good. First, the location is gorgeous. Overlooking the Savannah River, it was beautiful. And when it's not so hot, sitting outside would be perfect. But today was Happy Hour and we came for oysters and we sat at the bar! They did not disappoint for my friends who took them down by the numbers!! But for the rest of us, the tuna wontons, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, potstickers and those shrimp sliders!! OMG, incredible!!! My friend had some purple beer which she said was great on tap, looked good! Service was great, you can see the ballgame since Drift is on the 2nd floor, and I can't wait to go back. The food was great. The portions are small but flavorful. Our service was ok, it was a busy Saturday night so all things considered, it was ok. Key to this is getting water along with your drink so you're not thirsty while you wait. This is a lounge environment. There are tables for dinner but, think lounge when considering going here. Tip: reservations are required for the first couple of weeks A new oyster bar opened in North Augusta. We were lucky to get a reservation for a Friday night on their 2nd week of opening. You won't know Drift existed unless you have Facebook because Drift Raw Bar took over the 2nd floor of Southbound Smokehouse. You won't see any signage letting you know this is a new restaurant sitting on top of Southbound Smokehouse. The outside patio leading into the entrance of the bar has been left unchanged and you can still sit outside and watch the Greenjacket game. Inside decor has been decorated with marina, ocean, seafood theme fits with its fresh seafood. Getting a reservation was easy thanks to the manager Mike that help accommodate our big group After hearing about their fresh oysters, I jumped at the opportunity to order Blue Point Oyster, Tuna Tartare, and the Shrimp Cocktail as soon as we sat down. My girlfriend and I ordered the Coal Miner's Daughter and The Signature Margarita after scanning through the menu. Our server Lauren told us the bar was behind and our drinks would be delayed. Our food arrived promptly. The oysters were fresh, raw and came with a slice of lemon with cocktail sauce and a Maurin sauce recommended by Lauren. A little condiment bowl with crackers and Tobasco accompanied the oysters. The oysters were delicious and the two sauces added to the flavor of the fresh oyster. Next was the shrimp cocktail, which was peeled shrimp hanging off a big glass with shrimp cocktail sauce for dipping with an added slice of lemon. Very delicious, something about the cocktail sauce added to the flavoring of the shrimp. Next came the Tuna tartare which came on three carefully cooked tortilla chip which was like a small square tuna sashimi on a tortilla chip. Delicious, but wish it was a bigger portion, but if you are a fan of sushi, do not skip this dish. Next, we order another round of Blue Point Oyster and the Seasonal Ceviche, the ceviche arrived in a dipping bowl surround by regular tortilla chips. The tortilla chip was not the same as on the Tuna tartare. The ceviche had cuts of jalapeno in it, but was not spicy but added to the taste of the ceviche. After the majority of my dishes came out we finally got our Margarita and Coal Miner's Daughter, which was well worth the wait, but the timing came after our food. To cap out or drinks Gullah Shrimp which was a plate of cooked shrimp tail, unpeeled with a slice of lemon and shrimp cocktail sauce. This was my favorite dish because drinking and peeling shrimp makes the time go by more enjoyable. My friends order the Cuban Club Panini, which he describes as the best Cuban sandwich he has ever had. Another friend ordered the Shrimp Roll, which came with a side of salad, which was memorable because he kept raving about it. Overall I would return for drinks and try their sandwiches and Filet on the menu. Our server, Lauren was the highlight of the night getting our food promptly. The drinks, which she warned us the bar was backed up, which cause a delay and confusion in our drink order and timely delivery. Another pain point for us was our large table, we had eight people. Sometimes there was a food runner delivering food to the table because it was not our waitress, they did not have a clue who the plate or drink it was for. For a large party, this was confusing. Since I was sitting on the opposite end, I usually ended up missing or not even hearing what was being delivered. Since this is a new business, they will eventually get the bugs out and I would not let the service deter the high quality of the food being served. CSRA desperately needed a place like this! First of all, the location, the ambiance and the views are stunning! The drink menu is great and the bar is open till 2am, which is great for summer nights, for sure. As for the food, we loved everything we ordered! The oysters were fresh, the Gullah shrimp was amazing, both the ceviche and the tuna tartare were wonderful. It's a raw bar, but they also have a panini and a filet on the menu if you want something different than seafood. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we will absolutely return soon. read more

THIS PLACE DOES NOT SERVE FOOD. And their hours are wrong online. We showed up at 6:48, thinking it would be open bc that's what it says online. The girls working told us to come back at 7. Poor choice to have a low country boil and then run out of seafood non stop. I was trying to get a drink at the bar 20 minutes later and also being ignored. Then half hour after I showed up and all the seafood was out.. just a table of old cold potatoes and corn... they come out with more food but it's with the old cold vegetables that have been sitting out for over 30 minutes. So it was my 1st time going...was for a birthday dinner. It was 830pm. The inside was nice & they have seating overlooking the water...its probably really nice during the day. I was sort of taken back by such a small menu for being called a raw bar. I ordered 3 different types of oysters 2 sets raw & 1 cooked "Rockefeller" also ordered the steamed shrimp & the scallop dinner. So the scallops where perfectly cooked & the butternut puree was tasty. It was 4 scallops & a small bowl of loaded potato salad (my choice of side) there are only 2 other sides to pick from. The oysters were fresh however if I were serving blue point,James river,River, duxbury oysters I would not serve half shells that looked empty. At least 3 on my platter of James were very small...almost embarrassing to serve small & 2 on my Duxbury platter & 2 on my blue point. For a raw bar...I wouldn't serve the microscopic oysters. I could have put 3 of them together to equal one. The back of the house may want to consider that when sending out oysters now matter what time it is. The kitchen closed at 930pm. So I placed an order of the 3 sets of oysters plus an additional set of the Rockefeller ones. The shrimp were nice & big & cooked/steamed well...the seasoning could do with some more type of flavor. The loaded potato salad was absolutely delicious...did I mention that? Maybe some more options for appetizers whether raw or cooked would be nice... overall ok food. I would try again at an earlier time & see if the service of food is the same. I ate my full because I had not eaten as yet so... I wouldn't write them off as yet. read more

Me and the wife drove from Augusta Georgia to eat at this place for her birthday only to be turned away because the host up front that told us the kitchen was closed and it was only 8:55. He said it was a slow night but they had a baseball game that was about to finish plus it took us about 20 minutes to look for parking because it was so packed. Me and the wife own and operate a restaurant so I wouldn't come in 15 minutes before closing but y'all still had a hour open. So the wife calls the restaurant when we're driving back to Georgia and ask to speak to the manager and Mr Mike comes on and tells the wife the kitchen is still open and they even sometimes stay open till 12:00 on busy nights. I felt a little discriminated against as well but I'll leave it at that. No aloha no love at this restaurant. read more

We ate at the bar for the for the first time last night. I was excited to try the place since hearing it opened a few weeks ago. Overall it was a decent tasting menu, but I am hoping they expand it to offer more choices soon. We ordered margaritas, oyster shooters, ceviche oysters, yellowfin (surprised by tiny portion), and shrimp roll. Fiance described the shrimp roll as being bland. We left still hungry and headed over to Takosushi. I think this place has a lot of potential in the future, but there doesn't seem to be any real "meals" on the menu except the steak which was described as being a very small portion and $30. As a professional Yelp reviewer, I do not give out many 5 star reviews but this place deserves it ! Great food, great cocktails and the view ties it all together. I had the blue point oysters, shrimp cocktail & the Cuban Club panini which was so perfect ! The seafood was fresh and exactly what north augusta needed.
