Went for a drink on the evening of 5/16 with a group of coworkers. Not sure why, but the $14.50 Espresso Martini that both my friend and I ordered were served to us in plastic cups. We even asked the bartender why we were receiving plastic when the customers around us all had glassware, to which the guy replied "It's easier on the bar backs"?!?!?!? If you pay almost $15 for a drink, you'd think it wouldn't look like it was served at a frat party. No need to return with any more of my business :) read more

I came here after dinner next door with some friends for some drinks. They are a coffee shop and a bar, and if you're like me they have live music on certain days. Since we came on a weekday around 6ish, it wasn't too packed and were able to find a table. Their menu items are typically the same like a normal coffee shop and have some of their exclusive/seasonal drinks as well. Their bar menu has a large variety, have tap options, and canned drinks, as well as some of their coffee drinks with liquor in them. I ordered the iced dirty chai bourbon, and yall... that drink is dangerously good. Couldn't even taste the bourbon, and just tasted like a dirty chai. Would definitely come back for both coffee and drinks. read more

Stopped in for coffee and a bite and was not disappointed. The coffee was excellent (plain, black, and hot is my preference) and the danishes and macarons were also good. When I stopped in about mid morning , there was only one worker so a line formed quickly and it took a while to get served. I'm not sure if this is typical, but the wait wasn't too bad and the food was good. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

I've been coming to this gem for years now and it is always a good time. During the day it's a great study spot with drinks and desserts. When the sun sets, it's an amazing place to hang out with friends, catch up over a boozy coffee, something from their beer selection, or anything else from their extensive drink menu. Metro is such a versatile place, you can't go wrong. The only mini-gripe I would have is that they don't have much food, but that's not too big of a deal. The service is alright, they are quick to bring out drinks but because it can get so busy, sometimes you might be waiting for a while before you get to order. Overall really recommend this place as a place to study or chill and catch up with friends! read more

Pretty cool spot. I had a crowbar with oat milk and some sweetener. Ambiance is mellow, and staff typically engages well with visitors. It's on the corner of broad and 11th, lots of movement in the area, but definitely something to checkout. Their menu is pretty large, but like most coffee shops you can have the drink catered to you. read more

Coffee choices were plenteous-I went on a Monday at 9 am so no wait. Outdoor seating indoor choices for individual, small group large group or couples. Danishes were probably store bought but heated they paired well with coffee choices. Cheap pricing-would love to go back at early evening. read more

Really loved the drinks here! I had a grown hot chocolate, and I loved it. It did take a long time to place an order and get drinks, but I think that was just because there was a large crowd, so it was not a problem. Seating is limited, but it's there's lots of standing room as well. Will come back again! read more

I love their seasonal drinks they offered, their menu is posted on the side wall of the bar. The bar tenders are always friendly. We love Metro! Whether it's during the day for coffee and studying or night for drinks with friends, this spot is always where we end up. I'd come here over Starbucks, I really enjoyed the iced coffee "Foxy Brown". It sits on the corner downtown and offers a unique bar like environment inside! Metro is my #1 visited place in augusta. It is perfect to study at with a coffee, drink at with friends, listen to music, or just go sit by yourself. The bartenders always remember me and they have my favorite beer from Florida!! Service is awesome. They call me "orange blossom" because I always order the orange blossom Pilsner. Had an old fashioned but did not eat here. It was average, nothing too unique, but would get again. Bar service was quick, and it had coffee shop vibes with at least one person using their Mac and a notebook for work, but with an alcoholic twist I could definitely see myself coming here over Starbucks! Price was much better than anticipated and I can see myself coming back here soon for coffee or a drink. read more

Definitely come down to Broad street and check out this bar! I love coming here on weekdays and on weeknights. Weekdays I like coming here to sit in the afternoon to get some coffee or their happy hour specials. They offer free wifi which is great if you just want a relaxed afternoon here. On weeknights, they offer live music which is great! They're a coffee house and a bar in one, which is pretty unique and works for them. My favorite coffee is the Pogue Mahone (iced ,1 shot is $4), followed by the 007 or Jedi. They also sell canned coffee for $2.5 if you want some to go. Bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is super cozy. Bouncer is awesome as well. This bar will makes you feel right at home in Augusta. Will be coming here again and again! read more

There are a thousand reasons to love Augusta. And this is one of them. A coffee shop (beans from New Moon Cafe), full service bar, desserts, newly renovated space, live music, and you can come here while waiting for a table at Whiskey Bar Kitchen (same owners). Concerning that last one, your order will be transferred to your ticket at WBK (aka, you don't have to pay twice). I love the location (downtown, on the corner). I love that they were among the first around downtown (when I moved here in 2009). I love that they keep their selection up to date (i.e. Chattanooga Whiskey 111) and they premiere new cocktails throughout the year. I came here late at night to write poetry and blueprint various ideas (I know, so melodramatic of me). Some nights found me sipping Jack and Coke, others were a clean gin on the rocks. But it was always a great space to be. I appreciate their hours (opening at 10 am), but do wish they would open on Sunday's. If it's raining outside, I highly recommend coming here. The large windows make for a beautiful view of the Broad Street as water drops and leaves crash into the sidewalk. Simply put, my favorite bar in the area. read more

This is a super cool hip coffee shop/bar with live music on Friday night. They band was really good. We had a nice time. The sweets offered were delicious. We had cheesecake, a lemon pound cake and a cappuccino Nice vibe. Cool to hang out inside or outside. We had coffee and cheesecake after dinner in Downtown Augusta. Nice area to walk around. I like that it's a coffee house/bar with free WI-FI. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with a friendly staff. In my opinion, I think Metro was the start up to many independent businesses opening up in Downtown Augusta, which is great because we need more bars/restaurants. Love this place for many reasons. I come here to study all the time, while the vibes and coffee is great, the seating options and plug availability is low. Coming here for drinks at nighttime is great too - they're drinks are great you really can't go wrong with any of them. I especially recommend any of their alcoholic coffee drinks. I had to wait for my plate to come out because they ran out of the chow chow so I think my plate must have sat under the light for a while. I think they should have cooked another piece of fish rather than sending that one out. I could not/did not eat it. The chow chow overpowered the hot honey drizzle completely. The server kindly took it off the bill but I would have rather had a piece of crispy catfish. My nephew ordered the Pappardelle Frutti di Mare| 29 shrimp and crawfish tail meat, mushroom, white wine butter cream, shaved parmesean which was TOO SPICY for him to eat. When we mentioned this to the server she said the spice was normal for the dish and she would ask the chef to mention this on the menu. Didn't help us this time as the menu made no mention of any spiciness and we didn't know to ask to tone it down, which we would have asked had we known it was spicy. There was a special seasonal salad, with blueberries, peaches, and watermelons which was 10/10. We had ordered one to split but fortunately they forgot to split it so we got a whole salad each and I was thankful because it was beyond tasty and filling!! Would go back again for the salad alone!! Hopefully these problems will be rectified and we will give them another chance.

I was just there to have a few beers and sing a couple songs, and I was the legitimate opposite of belligerent. Literally sitting silently by myself. Guess they only want military folk there, no clue. Or maybe they're homophobic. Could be that too. Either way, never going back to this dumpster fire. When you pull in and think to yourself, "damn, this place looks rough," trust your gut and turn around.

That usually comes with ice. Right?? Well our waitress said that she had to brew me a fresh cup of tea which when you pour that over ice the ice melts away and again I had a glass of room temperature tea. I couldn't get a cold drink here to save my life. And did I mention that it was 95 degrees out? My wife ordered a Rubin sandwich, not realizing that it was a spicy sandwich. One bite and she was done. She doesn't like spicy food so I traded her for my simple bacon egg sandwich on a bagel and I had her spicy Rubin. And it was spicy! They had a mustard that must've been made with jalapeño and if you like heat, you will like this. Plenty of parking. Full bar. Clean restroom. Very average.

The restaurant is unique on the inside and gives a somewhat hole-in-the-wall bar vibe (but cleaner). During the day time, I would say it is family friendly, but at night it can definitely get rowdier so go at your own risk, it is called Whiskey Bar after all. The burgers are very good and are cooked very well with lots of options for customization. I always go for the classic WB(K) burger with Swiss cheese and pickles. The waffle fries are always so crisp and yummy. The same goes for the potstickers as an appetizer. Even their other burger combos that seem strange are actually pretty good if you are into that type of burger. The service is always pretty good. Friendly staff that was quick. Not a long wait on a Tuesday night, but have definitely waited before on a Friday or Saturday. They have a first come, first serve bar as well. The tables can be somewhat cramped depending on where you are sat and it is definitely not an accessible place as the entrance is crammed and all the tables are high tops on the inside, the outside is better with low top tables and benches. The Diet Coke was okay. A little syrupy so their ratio on the fountain soda machine must be a little off. Still good, but I have had better. Overall, one of the best burger restaurants in Augusta and most stop place in the area!
