Got very lucky and scored a special going on that Tuesday. From open to close is $3.50 all pints! Now that's a deal! We got local Georgia craft beers: Monday Night doctor robot raspberry and lemon sour Three Taverns rapturous raspberry sour Southbound shakedown street saison Wild Heaven white blackbird saison All were very good! Loved the feel of the bar! Old building with old pictures hanging up of downtown Augusta back in the day. They have an upstairs with more seating and games you can play darts and foosball. The Still Water Tap Room has a nice layout, banjos on the wall, and an awesome ceiling. Beers around $4 each with a dozen or so highlighted beers. They have a narrow layout, the second story has benches great for viewing live music. Only $2 cover for bands. Everything is wood so it can get a bit uncomfortable sitting for a long time. Maybe that's the point. I saw Clark Kent so that was cool. He was super wasted and Louis Lane gained a bit of weight. read more

Eh, it's a late night dive masked as a nicer bar due to its brick facade. However, don't let that fool you; the bartenders had a hard time making a basic drink like an "old fashioned," and the railings upstairs are of questionable structural integrity. I don't know if I'll be back. read more

I really enjoyed visiting this place. They had a live band up the little stage that's by the entrance. The selection of wine was almost nonexistent and they only had one cider. So the location is great... there is a little bit of a danger up on the 2nd floor because someone was able to put their drink on the ledge and it came down glass crashing downstairs where people were sitting! This is probably one of the best bars in Augusta, which is not sketchy, has a good beer selection, and great atmosphere if you don't mind reeking of smoke at the end of the night ..... but if you are in Augusta there is no escaping that. Given all these compliments, I will say that all if not most of them are negated by the horrible customer service that was provided by the management. When I visited this bar two weeks ago right after the Arkansas/Georgia game everything was as usual. However at around 1:30 am, the manager proceeded to scream and yell at patrons in the upstairs area and telling them to leave. We were one of those people and proceeded to go downstairs to finish up our beers. However the manager continued to yell at patrons, while saying obscenities. I actually witnessed the manager grab a pitcher of beer that one of the patrons was trying to finish and pour it in the trash!! He continued bullying his patrons, he even grabbed one of my boyfriend's beers and dunked it in the trash and basically kicked us out. He was simply trying to finish out his beer. I will say the bartenders were gracious and seemed very apologetic about their managers belligerent behavior. Fortunately for me, I don't reside in Augusta any longer and will not be frequenting this bar. If you want to go to a bar where people are friendly and are actually happy to serve you I would go to the bar next door, which has better music and friendlier staff. read more

Sure, it's no Brickstore, not even a Copper Creek, but it's great for Augusta. Respectable selection of beers on tap and an absolutely KILLER Tuesday night pint special. I'd steer clear of most of the mixed drinks; every one I've ordered has come out tiny and weak. The atmosphere is cool, laid back, and occasionally filled with med students. And the best part: Dog friendly. Having lived in Atlanta the past year, I can't tell you how much I enjoy being able to take my little Italian Greyhound with me! Edit: Sorry Stillwater... Summary: FRAUD ALERT* CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD BILLS or better yet, DON'T BOTHER COMING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE Let's start off with the pros: it is one of Augusta's few smokefree bars (and that is the end of the pros) And now the cons: 1. As numerous people have said, service is SUPER slow. 2. The bartenders (if you can call them that) are downright dishonest. -The first time she was an acquaintance of my friend and she charged me for different beers than the ones I ordered (of course they were more expensive). It was only a couple of bucks and it had taken 30 minutes for her to finally bring me my tab so I let it go that time. -The next time (different bartender) decided to TIP HERSELF on my card after I left a cash tip. This is FRAUD and there is absolutely no excuse for this level of dishonesty. Worst part is that noone at the bar answers the phone and there is no voicemail system. It look 2+ hours of my life with the bank to get this fraud straightened out..all because a bartender decided to steal. 3. All this is possible because the manager/possible owner Gene is present but not paying attention. On any given shift, he's drinking from multiple personal drinks he's made for himself and stashed up and down the length of the bar. Needless to say, by the end of the night, he usually seems pretty trashed. Besides allowing fraud to happen under his watch, I've personally watched him get into drunken altercations with multiple patrons, especially at the end of the night when he wants to go home and sleep it off (even if it is an hour before closing). His general style of getting people to leave includes walking up to customers and pouring out their drinks, ending pool games by throwing balls in the pockets, turning off the lights 30 min, or if all else fails threatening violence. Low class. They serve Blanton's bourbon in plastic cups. Seriously. I asked why they couldn't use a rocks glass for a shot of $60 a bottle bourbon and she said they are trying to use more plastic. Great local bar. I was travelling thru on business and looked for a place to grab a pint and finish some work at. I'm glad I came here. They have a great selection of taps (15?) with everything from local beers to my surprise (Rogue Dead Guy from Oregon, 50 miles from home) Both bartenders were very nice. When their CC machine stopped working and I didn't have cash, they were totally fine with holding my tab open until I came back that evening. read more

This place has a rustic saloon feel to it, which is right up my alley. Augusta is lacking when it comes to nice classy bars, but this is one of the better ones I've visited, at least it has some character. This was our local watering hole while we were down in Augusta for the Masters. Great pint specials on Tuesday nights ($3) with a great selection of at least 15 different craft brews. Whiskey Wednesday gave us 2$ off our brown liquor selections. I can't remember much beyond that... Just kidding. Rocking chairs out front to coze in and great southern hospitality throughout. Pool tables and darts upstairs if you get bored of talking to your compatriots and excellent mexican food next door for the drunk munchies. We had a great time visiting the Stillwater Taproom (thanks for having us!) and will definitely return here the next time I win some Master's tickets! read more

Nice looking bar with a decent selection of beers on tap. Nothing special. Pretty average. Nice location down town and beer is cold. Bartenders were pretty nice as well. All were a little slow. There was a weird situation where a drunk patron told someone else who was playing pool to leave. When the person refused this guy started putting all the balls in the pockets to end his game. They got into a verbal altercation that all most got physical till the guy left. After this the person that started it all turned out to be the owner of the bar who continued to drink away. read more

This place is a pretty decent stop for a beer or two. The upstairs has a pool table and a foosball table with the downstairs having some decent enough seating. They offer an ok selection of beer that they keep rotating out. They also seem to have a live band about every weekend. The bartenders were also nice and somewhat attentive. The weak point of the bar is the mixed drinks or at least the bartender we had was not very proficient. Ordered a gin and tonic and it was almost entirely tonic, very little gin. All in all a good place for a beer but the mix drinks may be hit or miss. read more

As soon as we entered we realized it was an extremely tight place with ZERO music (honestly a bar with no music.. The hell is that... A museum?). The crowd was snooty as hell and the upstairs was crowded with young frat/sorority kids spending daddy's money (and cheapy pool tables). The place wreaked fake class with zero customer service. I've been here several times, but this particular visit I was very disappointed. The bartender was very nice, but did take a while to greet us and serve us a beer. On a Monday, it's a little silly. Still, this is not my complaint. What I have a problem with, is a manager or server literally spitting and cleaning out his dip two feet from me, right next to the limes. This was followed by him running into my chair, spit cup in hand, which he promptly placed on the bar two feet from my boyfriend and I for at least ten minutes. No matter where you are, whose bar it is, THAT is unacceptable. I felt it necessary to mention this to the man, and was treated very disrespectfully. "Did I serve on you tonight?" - "No." - "Goodnight." It will be very unlikely that I ever return to this establishment, unless I can speak with the owner about being so rudely treated. read more

Favorite bar in Augusta. You walk in to a few cozy tables on your left and a good-sized bar on your right, where you can order a diverse selection of craft beer on tap (usually about 20 or 24 - check the chalkboard) and dozens of bottles. They always have some unique beers here; I think their beverage manager/bar owner does a really good job selecting drinks. One storefront-style window is taken up by a small stage where I have heard some rocking bands for a very reasonable cover charge of a few dollars, and the other currently has a Pacman game used as a table with two chairs. Upstairs you can play foosball, darts, and pool, and then sit by the balcony and watch drunk guys hitting on girls at the bar, groups of friends doing fireball shots, people jamming to the band, and all the other familiar sites of a small bar. Great people-watching opportunities. Stillwater is the perfect size in my opinion and I hope it does well for years to come. Easy 5-star rating. read more

Worst bar ever - at an empty bar paid 4$ cover to wait 40 minutes to be told it's last call ... EPIC FAIL

A crappy dive bar with pretension so thick you could cut it with a chainsaw. If you are going to pretend to be an upscale bar then don't serve wine in plastic cups. I ordered a $7 glass of red wine and it was served in a plastic cup.. the kind you buy in bulk at Costco. I would expect better from a bar in a truck stop. The crowd is mostly college aged douchebags dressed in Frat uniforms. Expensive as far as bars in Disgusta goes without the ambience and service one would expect from a place charging these prices. As with most places downtown the service is horrible and they act like hey are doing a favor letting you inside. read more

Tonight, I intended on paying for my friends' beers. So I went to bar and told one of the bar tenders, a man with grey hair that I wanted to pay for a bells and a blue moon, the two beers that my friends already got. He instead gave me two new beers, a bells and a blue moon. I had to pay 8 dollars for those beers I didn't actually order. He said I ordered them and did so with a very passive aggressive tone and body language. I paid for the drinks and left. I don't think I'll ever be going to stillwater in Augusta ever again. read more
